OneXplayer 2 Handheld Console Now Orderable After Crossing $1 Million Mark in Crowdfunding

One-Netbook recently announced the Windows-powered gaming handheld console called OneXPlayer 2. As usual, the console was listed on Indiegogo where interested customers could reserve it on the crowdfunding website with some added perks.

Now, the device is finally orderable after crossing the $1 Million mark in crowdfunding. The latest console resembles its predecessor in design, however, it comes with detachable controller pads, and also offers the option to use a tablet or a mini-laptop by including a stylus and keyboard support.

OneXPlayer 2 specs

The ONEXPLAYER 2 features the Ryzen 7 6800U APU, an 8.4-inch display with a 2.5K resolution, and a 65.5 Wh battery. The device is equipped with interchangeable controllers, a built-in kickstand, and offers pen input with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The ONEXPLAYER 2 is equipped with a dual speaker system certified by Harman and features a smart cooling system that takes in air from the rear and dissipates heat from the top. It offers WiFi 6e for connectivity and even has eGPU support for additional graphics power beyond what the Ryzen 7 6800U APU can provide. The device is powered by a 65.5Wh battery.

According to One-netbook, shipments of the OneXPlayer 2 are expected to start in March 2023 and will include units for backers. The magnetic keyboard, portable connector, and stylus are all sold separately for US$39, US$29, and US$39, respectively.

OneXPlayer pricing, availability

OneXPlayer 2 pre-orders made on the OnexPlayer Store as well as the Indiegogo are expected to start shipping around the end of February.

Last month, One-Netbook announced that it would soon launch the successor to the OneXPlayer, the OneXPlayer 2. The brand has already revealed a majority of the specifications of this device. Now, One-Netbook has finally made the handheld console available for purchase via Indiegogo.

The ONEXPLAYER 2 campaign has earned approximately $580,000 from backers as of the time of writing, with prices starting at US$899. The following are the ONEXPLAYER 2 early bird prices:

OneXPlayer 2 specs & features

The Ryzen 7 6800U APU, an 8.4-inch 2.5K display, and a 65.5 Wh battery are all included with the ONEXPLAYER 2. The gadget also boasts interchangeable controllers, a built-in kickstand, and support for pen input with 4096-level pressure levels.

It has a dual speaker system certified by Harman, and it provides smart cooling, intaking air from the rear panel and dissipating heat from the top panel. For connectivity, the console features WiFi 6e and it even has eGPU support if you need more graphics power than what the Ryzen 7 6800U APU can provide. Lastly, the device features a 65.5Wh battery.

Currently, ONEXPLAYER 2 units are expected to begin shipping to backers in March 2023, according to One-netbook. This shipment date also applies to its magnetic keyboard, portable connector, and stylus, which are each sold separately for US$39, US$29, and US$39.

Last week, One-netbook launched a new Intel Pentium Gold version of the OneXPlayer mini and also announced the OneXPlayer 2. The successor of the original OneXPlayer is said to feature detachable controllers, similar to the ones found on the Nintendo switch.

Additionally, OneXPlayer 2 is confirmed to feature the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U APU along with a large 8.4-inch IPS display and a 65.5 Wh battery. According to the company, the OneXPlayer 2 will ship with Harman Kardon-branded stereo speakers and active stylus support, among other things.

Originally, One-netbook planned to release the OneXPlayer 2 on November 25. It has, however, postponed the device’s release until December 20. It’s worth noting that this December 20 launch date comes with a few caveats. For starters, OneXPlayer 2 will only be available on Indiegogo, a popular crowdfunding website, on December 20. While One-netbook has previously delivered on several crowdfunding campaigns, they do not offer the same consumer guarantees as if you ordered it directly from the company’s website.

Further, units for OneXPlayer 2 will not be delivered to backers until at least March 2023, with a lead time of three months. One-netbook, for example, typically ships orders in batches, which may be why it has a March–April 2023 delivery window listed on its website. Although the company has shown off the device’s Switch-like gamepad, there are few further details available regarding the OneXPlayer 2. According to the marketing renders that have been made publicly available so far, One-netbook appears to be preparing to sell the ONEXPLAYER 2 in two colors.

More details about the OneXPlayer 2 have been kept under wraps, however, we can expect it to feature a keyboard dock connector at the bottom of the console along with a Nintendo Switch-style kickstand. The I/O I/O is expected to be equipped with a microphone-headphone combo jack, a couple of USB-C ports, a microSD card port, and a USB 3.0 connector.

Earlier this month, One-Netbook launched the OneXPlayer mini Pro handheld console. Now, the brand has announced an upcoming console for the Chinese market called the OneXPlayer 2. For those unaware, OneXPlayer consoles are essentially hand-held PCs that run Windows operating systems and come with capable hardware that allows users to game on them, pretty much like any other handheld consoles.

In a recent teaser video, the company revealed the design of the OneXPlayer 2. For the first time, the brand will be offering detachable controllers similar to what’s seen on the Nintendo consoles.

Similar to the recently launched OneXPlayer mini Pro, the new console will also be powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, and there will also be an option to go the intel path with a 13th-Gen i7 processor. The display of the new console will be a large 8.4-inch touchscreen panel with a 2.6K resolution.

Other features include 4096-level handwriting, dual speakers with Harman tuning certification, and the series’ signature orange ambient light. The official release date of OneXPlayer 2 has not yet been announced, but the global closed beta recruitment has begun.

Going by the specs of the OneXPlayer, we can expect a keyboard dock connector at the bottom of the console along with a Nintendo Switch-style kickstand. The volume controls along with a fingerprint sensor can be expected on the back. Up top, the console will likely have a couple of cooling vents, and the I/O with a microphone-headphone combo jack, a couple of USB-C ports, a microSD card port, and a USB 3.0 connector.

The teaser makes it clear that we will be getting an X-box-style controller with shoulder and trigger buttons on top. More details about the console are expected to emerge as we get closer to the launch, so stay tuned.
