The OPPO A31 smartphone had gone official in Indonesia in the previous week. Today, the same phone has launched in India as it is now officially listed on OPPO India website. While the Indonesian market received the OPPO A31 smartphone in a single variant, it has landed in two variants such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

OPPO A31 specifications and features

The OPPO A31 has 163.9 x 75.5 x 8.3mm and it weighs 180 grams. The handset has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with teardrop notch. The display offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, 480nits brightness and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The phone promises a screen space of 89 percent.

The MediaTek Helio P35 chipset along with up to 6 GB of RAM powers the OPPO A31 smartphone. The phone houses a 4,230mAh battery that promises a talk time of 45 hours, 8 hours of video playback and 35 hours of music playback. The big battery comes with support for 10W charging. The ColorOS 6.1.2 based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device.

Fresh information shared by 91mobiles reveals that the OPPO A31 will be debuting in India in the coming week. The publication has shared an image of a promo for the OPPO A31 phone for India. It carries some of the key specs and details on the launch offers for Indian audience.

The leaked poster reveals the two color variants of the OPPO A31 smartphone for India. Indonesia had received the smartphone in Fantasy White and Mystery Black color variants. It also states that the A31 will be arriving in the country in two models such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Ther pricing of these two variants are yet to be revealed. Indonesia has received the phone in a single version that feature 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The poster states that the OPPO A31 phone is equipped with a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch screen. The rear side of the phone features with an AI triple camera setup. The launch offers include cashback offers from ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Bajaj FinServ, benefits worth Rs. 7,050 from Jio and more. OPPO India is yet to confirm on the arrival of the smartphone. The OPPO A31 phone offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels along with a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. It promises a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent. The phone is driven by Helio P35 chipset. The Android 9 Pie OS along with ColorOS 6.1 comes preloaded on the device. There is a microSD card slot onboard for additional storage.

A few days after the Realme C3 and its dual camera setup, Redmi launched a new variant of one of its most affordable entry-level smartphones in order to compete with the new budget phone: Redmi 8A Dual, which mounts a dual camera as well. Now, Realme came up with another variant of the C3 boasting a triple camera. It seems there is a war between the two brands launched by Oppo and Xiaomi to conquer the entry-level segment. That is why we think it is worth comparing the Realme C3 and Redmi 8A Dual. We also brought Oppo A31 2020 in the comparison since it is another entry-level device launched recently which offers complementary features to the above-mentioned ones.

Design

In the segment of budget phones with a so affordable price, you can not expect premium materials. All of these devices are made of plastic, so you do not get the most premium design experience. But they are still pretty nice with their narrow bezels and waterdrop notches. Realme C3 and Redmi 8A Dual are both splash resistant, while Oppo A31 is not. Redmi 8A Dual is a way more compact device, so you may be interested to know that it is easier to use with one hand and to keep in a pocket. That is exactly why it would be my choice if we exclude the fact that it has a smaller display.

Display

All IPS displays, with HD+ resolutions: nothing special, but they all provide decent image quality and a high brightness. Oppo A31 and Realme C3 come with a wider 6.5-inch panel, but they have a lower pixel density due to this. Redmi 8A Dual has a smaller display and a higher pixel density, but the resolution is the same. These displays are more or less at the same level, we do not recommend to make your choice basing on them. Instead, you should take care of all the other specifications.

Specs & Software

Realme C3 is the most amazing phone when it comes to the hardware side. The MediaTek Helio G70 is stronger than both the Snapdragon 439 and the Helio P35 found on the Redmi 8A Dual and Oppo A31. The Snapdragon 439 is better than the Helio P35, but there is a huge gap between it and the Helio G70. The Helio G70 is currently the best chipset you can find on a device with a so affordable price. But consider that you get more internal storage with the Oppo A31: 128 GB. Realme C3 is the only one with Android 10 out of the box. The Realme C3 wins in this section of the comparison.

Camera

Realme C3 and Oppo A31 have a superior rear camera department if we compare them to the Redmi 8A Dual. They both come with a 12 MP triple camera including a 12 MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. Despite we are talking about the same camera departments, Oppo A31 wins the camera comparison because it boasts a better 8 MP selfie camera. Even Redmi 8A Dual has a better selfie camera than Realme C3, but its rear cameras are inferior on the paper.

Battery

Realme C3 and Redmi 8A Dual pack huge 5000 mAh batteries, while Oppo A31 has a smaller (but still great) 4230 mAh unit. We believe Redmi 8A Dual will last more on a single charge since it has a smaller display. Further, the Redmi 8A Dual has a faster charging technology.

Price

Redmi 8A Dual has an €80/$86 starting price, Realme C3 (in its triple camera variant) starts from €120/$130, and Oppo A31 costs €180/$195. Realme C3 looks like a better device thanks to its better chipset, but Redmi 8A Dual is more compact and it features faster charging speeds, so do not underestimate it. However, it lacks a fingerprint reader and it has inferior cameras, that is why I would choose the Realme C3. We did not award the Oppo A31 since its chipset is inferior to both and it has a smaller battery, but the presence of 128 GB of internal storage and great cameras may be very interesting for a good amount of potential buyers.

The OPPO A31 is an upcoming mid-ranger phone from OPPO. It has been spotted with its CPH2015 model number at the database of authorities like FCC in the U.S and Singapore’s IMDA. An Indonesian certification body had approved it as Oppo Reno S. The OPPO A31 name was revealed through its IMDA certification. Today, the CPH2015 smartphone has appeared on Bluetooth SIG with some key details.

The OPPO A31 specs leak on Bluetooth SIG reveals that is equipped with a 6.517-inch display that produces full HD+ resolution. A MediaTek octa-core processor that works at 2.0GHz powers the smartphone. The phone houses a 4,230mA battery. When it comes to connectivity, it carries support for Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone runs on ColorOS 6.1.2.

The FCC certification of the CPH2015 smartphone had revealed that it measures 164 x 755mm in dimensions. The battery of the device can be fueled using a 5V/2A charger. The schematics of the phone that had appeared in FCC documents revealed that it features a triple camera setup and a fingerprint reader on its back. Also, the images of the pre-production unit of the OPPO A31 revealed that it has a waterdrop notch screen, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB port and an external speaker. The left side of the device is fitted with a volume controller and a power button can be found its right side.

There is no word on the launch date of the smartphone. It could be one of the first A-series OPPO phone to debut this year.

OPPO is reportedly working a budget-friendly smartphone called OPPO A31 that has a model number of CPH2015. Earlier in December, the CPH2015 OPPO phone was spotted as the database of Singapore’s IMDA and an Indonesian certification platform. IMDA revealed that the CPH2015 phone will be arriving in Singapore as OPPO A31. At the end of December, the CPH2015 bagged certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. The FCC listing has revealed the images of the pre-production unit of the OPPO A31. Moreover, it has also revealed the key specs of the phone.

The left side of the device is flanked with volume buttons and the power button is available on the right edge. OPPO is always known for its beautifully designed smartphones. Yesterday, a new OPPO device was spotted on TENAA bearing the name OPPO A31. The specifications of the device revealed that it could be a new handset in the company’s mid-range A series lineup.

And just a day after hitting TENAA, OPPO has made the OPPO A31 official via its Chinese website. Although the company has incorporated only modest specs for its price range (check out Meizu M1 Note and Lenovo K3 Note), the device stands out from the crowd thanks to its beautifully designed body. In fact, we feel this could be the best looking phone in its price segment.

The OPPO A31 comes with a dual glass design, similar to the ones that we saw on the premium smartphones from the company. A sturdy metal frame holds the device together, further enhancing its looks. The phone will be available in two color options, namely Ice White and Sapphire Blue. The latter particular looks premium for a sub $170 smartphone.

As for the tech specs, OPPO is targeting users who would like something more compact than traditional offerings in this range. The OPPO A31 features a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480. The resolution may be a bit disappointing according to today’s standard, but for the small display, its decent enough. It measures 131.9×65.5x8mm which is pretty compact and slim and weighs 135g.

Under the hood, the A31 features the entry level Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD. At the back, there is an 8MP  1/ 3.2 inch BSI sensor with f/2.2 aperture and up front, it comes with a 5MP shooter. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Color OS 2.0 on top. There will be a 2000mAh battery on board. Finally, the phone supports 4G LTE networks on both its SIM card slots.

Coming to the price, the OPPO A31 will cost you 999 Yuan which comes to around $160. While considering the specs the price is no way impressive, the phone’s design could attract some users.

OPPO will start taking orders for the OPPO A31 from April 17 for 999 yuan at 10:00 AM. If the company follows the same routine as its previous entry level handsets, then we may soon see this mid-ranger in international markets like India and some parts of Europe.
