<p>Choosing the right budget 5G smartphone can be overwhelming, especially with options like the Redmi 14C 5G and Oppo A3x 5G offering impressive features at competitive prices. Both phones cater to users seeking value for money while balancing performance, durability, and usability. This comparison dives into their key differences, helping you decide which one fits your needs better. With advancements like fast charging, upgraded cameras, and reliable chipsets, understanding what each device offers can make all the difference in your buying decision.</p>

<h3><strong>Design and Display</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-150.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-670279" width="725" height="748" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-150.png 725w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-150-291x300.png 291w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-150-696x718.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-150-407x420.png 407w" sizes="(max-width: 725px) 100vw, 725px" /><figcaption>Redmi 14C</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Redmi 14C 5G and Oppo A3x 5G both offer splash and dust resistance, but Oppo takes it a step further with an IP54 rating and MIL-STD-810H compliance for better durability. The Redmi 14C features a slightly larger 6.88-inch IPS LCD display, while the Oppo A3x has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD. Both displays support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but the Oppo A3x has a higher brightness of up to 1000 nits, making it more suitable for outdoor use. Redmi’s design feels premium with its vibrant color options, while Oppo adds an extra touch of ruggedness.</p>

<p>The Oppo A3x edges out in terms of durability and brightness, making it a more reliable choice for rough usage, while Redmi 14C offers a larger screen for immersive viewing.</p>

<h3><strong>Specifications </strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="800" height="634" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-670281" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151.png 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151-300x238.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151-768x609.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151-696x552.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-151-530x420.png 530w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>OPPO A3x</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Redmi 14C is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4nm), offering better efficiency and performance than the Oppo A3x’s MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm). Redmi also provides UFS 2.2 storage for faster app loading, compared to Oppo’s slower eMMC 5.1. The Oppo A3x, however, has faster 45W charging, reaching 50% in just 30 minutes, whereas Redmi sticks to 18W. Both phones have ample battery capacities, with Redmi leading slightly at 5160mAh versus Oppo’s 5100mAh.</p>

<p>Redmi 14C is the better performer in everyday tasks, but if quick charging is a priority, Oppo A3x might be the better pick.</p>

<h3><strong>Camera</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="675" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-1024x675.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-670283" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-1024x675.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-300x198.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-768x506.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-696x459.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-1068x704.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152-637x420.png 637w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-152.png 1074w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi 14C</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Redmi 14C features a superior 50MP rear camera with PDAF for sharp photos, while the Oppo A3x settles for an 8MP primary shooter. On the selfie front, Redmi has an 8MP camera compared to Oppo’s 5MP, ensuring better detail in selfies. Oppo does offer 1080p@60fps video recording, which is missing on Redmi, adding a slight edge for smoother video quality.</p>

<p>For photography enthusiasts, Redmi 14C is the clear winner. Oppo A3x is suitable for basic photography but falls short in quality.</p>

<h3><strong>Pricing</strong></h3>

<p>The Redmi 14C starts at ₹9,999, while Oppo A3x is slightly cheaper at ₹8,999. The price difference reflects the upgrades Redmi offers in terms of camera, processor, and storage technology. However, Oppo&#8217;s competitive pricing combined with faster charging makes it appealing for budget-conscious buyers.</p>

<p>Redmi offers better value for its price, while Oppo A3x caters to users looking for affordability and quick-charging convenience.</p>

<h3><strong>Conclusion</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="901" height="781" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-670285" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153.png 901w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153-300x260.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153-768x666.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153-696x603.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153-485x420.png 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-153-534x462.png 534w" sizes="(max-width: 901px) 100vw, 901px" /><figcaption>OPPO A3x</figcaption></figure></div>

<ul><li><strong>Redmi 14C 5G</strong>: Superior 50MP camera, UFS 2.2 storage, and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset make it a solid all-rounder.</li><li><strong>Oppo A3x 5G</strong>: IP54 durability, faster 45W charging, and 1000-nit display brightness stand out.</li></ul>

<p>Redmi is better suited for users prioritizing performance and camera quality, while Oppo excels in charging speed and rugged durability.</p>

<p>The Southeast Asian smartphone market experienced notable growth in Q3 2024, with shipments increasing by 15% year-on-year, reaching a total of 25 million units, according to a recent report by Canalys. This growth reflects the region’s recovery and increased demand across various smartphone segments. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oppo-2/">Oppo</a> emerged as the market leader, with other prominent brands like Samsung, Transsion, Xiaomi, and vivo following closely.</p>

<h2>Oppo’s market dominance driven by entry-level success</h2>

<p>Oppo led the Southeast Asian smartphone market in Q3 2024, shipping 5.1 million units and capturing a 21% market share. This growth is largely attributed to the brand’s focus on affordable entry-level models, particularly the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-a3-2/">Oppo A3</a>, which resonated well with budget-conscious consumers. Oppo&#8217;s year-on-year growth rate of 29% highlights its effective strategy in appealing to the mass market with cost-effective devices.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="911" height="608" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-642661" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x.jpg 911w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPPO-A3x-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 911px) 100vw, 911px" /></figure>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> held the second position, with a 16% market share in shipment volume, totaling 4.1 million units. However, Samsung&#8217;s shipment value share exceeded its volume share, reaching 23%, indicating a successful high-end strategy. The focus on increasing average selling prices (ASP) over shipment volume aligns with Samsung’s approach to prioritize profitability and strengthen its premium segment in the region.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="687" height="481" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Oppo-leads-Southeast-Asias-smartphone-market-Q3-2024.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-659495" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Oppo-leads-Southeast-Asias-smartphone-market-Q3-2024.webp 687w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Oppo-leads-Southeast-Asias-smartphone-market-Q3-2024-300x210.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Oppo-leads-Southeast-Asias-smartphone-market-Q3-2024-600x420.webp 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Oppo-leads-Southeast-Asias-smartphone-market-Q3-2024-100x70.webp 100w" sizes="(max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px" /></figure></div>

<p>Transsion, which includes brands like TECNO, Infinix, and iTel, ranked third with a shipment volume of 4 million units and a 16% market share. While Transsion has previously grown rapidly in Southeast Asia, its rapid growth appears to be flattening as the vendor shifts its focus from expanding market share to improving profitability and shipment value in the coming quarters.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi and Vivo round out the top five</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> placed fourth in the market with 3.9 million units shipped and a 15% market share, benefiting from the success of affordable models like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-14c/">Redmi 14C</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-a3/">A3</a>. With a 21% year-on-year growth rate, Xiaomi has established itself as a strong competitor in the budget segment.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-1024x600.webp?x44794" alt="Redmi 14C" class="wp-image-647938" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-1024x600.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-300x176.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-768x450.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-1536x900.webp 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-2048x1200.webp 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-696x408.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-1068x626.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-1920x1125.webp 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/6e63d590b9370e2dc8ac34f3d02302c5-717x420.webp 717w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi 14C</figcaption></figure>

<p>vivo completed the top five, shipping 2.6 million units and securing a 10% market share. Although Vivo&#8217;s shipments did not match the growth of its competitors, its continued presence in the top five underscores its consistent demand among consumers in Southeast Asia.</p>

<p>In summary, the Southeast Asian smartphone market shows a strong recovery. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo </a>is apparently planning on launching a new A series smartphone in India. The upcoming device could be dubbed the Oppo A3x, which will likely be a mid range smartphone model. However, prior to its official release, the specs and design of the Oppo A3x were leaked. </p>

<h2>Oppo A3x Design &amp; Specs</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Oppo A3x" class="wp-image-639534" width="695" height="391" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 695px) 100vw, 695px" /></figure></div>

<p>The design and the specs leak were shared by an industry source to <em><a href="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/tech-whispers/exclusive-oppo-a3x-indian-variant-smartphones-specs-and-design-leaked-ahead-of-official-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TheTechOutlook</a></em>. The report also shared leaked promo image posters showcasing the Oppo A3x&#8217;s design. Looking at the picture, we can see a dual camera setup on the rear and a flat rear panel. The poster image also highlights military grade shock resistant design and multi liquid resistance (IP54 rating). Meanwhile, the front will apparently sport a bright display (1000 nits peak) with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. There is also a punch hole cutout for the selfie camera.</p>

<p>The screen has a flat panel with rounded corners and noticeable bezels, while the volume rockers and power button are on the right frame and the SIM tray is on the left. Color options of the new Oppo A3x were also leaked, confirming Purple, Sparkle Black, and Starlight White variants. The rear has an 8-megapixel camera with a flicker brightness detection sensor and the front houses a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors.jpg?x44794" alt="Oppo A3x" class="wp-image-639535" width="605" height="340" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Oppo-A3x-Colors-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px" /><figcaption>Oppo A3x with Purple, Starlight White, and Sparkle Black</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Oppo A3x is rumored to run on the Android 14 OS based ColorOS 14 custom skin out of the box. Under the hood, it may be equipped with the Dimensity 6300 SoC, which is paired with either 4GB + 64GB or 4GB + 128GB storage options. A large 5,100mAh battery pack powers this device, which can support 45W wired fast charging. This is all packed in a slim 7.68mm body. The source added that the Oppo A59 will be discontinued following the launch of the Oppo A3x. </p>
