OPPO has launched a 4GB RAM variant for the OPPO A5s in India. The higher memory variant is said to be available already via brick and mortar stores in India. This new storage variant expands the options fans have to choose from and the price isn’t a bomb. The A5s 4GB RAM variant comes with a price tag of Rs 12,990 (~$186).

OPPO A5s was first launched in Taiwan in March this year. The device made its debut in India, a month later but was only available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. Not too long ago, OPPO adjusted the prices of the two variants downward, apparently in preparation for the arrival of the 4GB RAM variant. Apart from memory, all other details are the same. The new variant comes in Green and Gold colours.

As a reminder, the OPPO A5s sports a 6.2 Inch HD+ In-Cell display with 720×1520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor. On the software front, the device runs on Android 9 Pie based ColorOS 5.2.1. The device adopts the waterdrop notch design with an 8MP selfie shooter housed inside the notch. At the rear, is a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup. Keeping the lights on is a large 4,230mAh battery.

Oppo launched its new budget-friendly device in India – Oppo A5s with “unparalleled, and immersive experience” for users. The new phone is launched in two different storage variants – 2GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB internal storage. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, 6.2-inch display, a dual rear camera setup, and several other features.

Oppo claims that the new device is capable of performing minor to major tasks effectively. It can easily handle tasks like gaming to watching videos and even something as simple as browsing on the web. Besides the big battery and affordable pricing, it comes with a premium design and vibrant display.

Oppo A5s Specification

Oppo A5s hosts a huge 6.2 Inch HD+ In-Cell display with 720×1520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device runs on MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) SoC paired with 2/4GB RAM. On the software front, the device runs on Android 9 Pie based ColorOS 5.2.1.

There’s a dual rear camera module consisting of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture is present for selfies. The phone carries anti-shake technology to ensure smooth and stable video recording experience.

A 4230mAh battery is present with AI-based power optimisation techniques. It can withstand 13.5 hours of continuous video playback. In connectivity, Redmi A5s embeds support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB port. It measures 155.9×75.4×8.2mm and weighs 170 grams.

The Oppo A5S will start retailing at INR 9,990 (~$143) for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model, whereas the pricing details for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is still unknown. Interested users can choose between two color options of Black and Red. It will be available from offline as well as online stores including Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Cliq, Paytm Mall, and Snapdeal.

The OPPO A-series line of mid-range smartphone may soon get a new member as the full specs of a phone called the OPPO A5s have leaked. The OPPO A5s will likely be the successor to the OPPO A3s released last year.

Surprised that there is no OPPO A4s? A lot of Chinese manufacturers avoid using the number “4” in the name of their phones because it sounds nearly the same way as the word “death” in Cantonese.

The OPPO A5s will have a 6.2-inch HD+ display (1520 x 720). An attached official render shows the phone has a waterdrop display. The image also shows it has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, unlike the A3s. The power button is on the right while the volume rocker is on the left.

The phone is powered by the Helio P35 and will come in 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. There is an 8MP f/2.0 camera sitting inside the notch and on the rear are dual cameras in a 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 configuration.

The OPPO A5s has a 4,230mAh battery and will run ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It will have support for dual Nano-SIM but we are not sure if it is a triple card slot or a hybrid slot.

The phone measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.2 mm and weighs 170 grams. It will be available in red, black, gold, and green when it launches. There is no info yet on the release date and its price.
