Oppo has launched the A6i in China as part of its entry-level lineup. The phone debuts alongside the A6 Pro, featuring a rugged design, large battery, and 5G support. Let’s check out its key specs and pricing.

Oppo A6i Specifications

The Oppo A6i features a 6.56-inch LCD display with 1604 x 720 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1000 nits peak brightness. The panel remains responsive with wet, oily, or gloved fingers.

The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process. It is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and comes with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The Dimensity 6300 enables 5G connectivity and ensures efficient performance for daily use.

The Oppo A6i runs ColorOS 15, optimized for long-term smoothness with claimed performance stability up to 48 months. It offers an AI assistant with handwriting recognition, English tutoring, and math correction, plus family tools like health tracking via wearables, regional alerts, and fraud detection.

The rear camera setup features a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front houses an 8MP selfie camera. The phone supports AI-enhanced features like portrait mode, dual-view video recording, object removal, pixel-level zoom upscaling, and AI-powered sticker overlays.

The A6i carries a 6000mAh battery rated for five years of use with graphite cells and electrolyte recovery tech. It supports 45W SuperVOOC charging, reaching 50% in 37 minutes even at –20°C, and delivers up to 22 hours of calls or 19 hours of video playback.

Oppo has built the A6i using a Diamond Shield Frame made of strengthened glass and high-strength aluminum alloy. The phone is IP65-rated for dust and water resistance and has passed SGS 5-star drop resistance certification. It weighs 194 grams and measures 7.99mm thick.

Pricing and Availability

Oppo has priced the A6i as follows:

• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: 899 yuan (~$125.86)
• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: 999 yuan (~$139.86)
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: 1099 yuan (~$153.86)

The phone will be available in Cloud Mist White and Midnight Black color options. Sales begin on September 12 in China.

Oppo is preparing to launch a new entry-level 5G phone in China, and a fresh listing on the China Telecom website has spilled nearly everything ahead of time. The device, called the Oppo A6i 5G (model number PKW120), is already confirmed to go official on September 9.

The listing shows the A6i will come in three versions: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. Buyers will get to pick between two colors, Midnight Black and Cloudy White, both of which match the straightforward design Oppo has used on other budget models this year. Out of the box, the phone will ship with Android 15 and support 5G, dual SIM, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a USB-C port that doubles for audio and charging.

On the front, the A6i carries a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a 720 × 1604 resolution. It’s a flat display with slim bezels and a slightly thicker chin, plus an 8MP selfie camera tucked inside a punch-hole cutout. Flip it around, and you’ll find a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor inside a rectangular module, alongside a ring-shaped LED flash.

Under the hood, the phone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400. Power won’t be much of a concern thanks to a 5,860mAh battery, which also supports 45W fast charging. The device measures 165.71 × 76.24 × 7.99 mm and weighs just under 200 grams.

The company has just revealed teasers confirming the launch for 14:30 local time on September 9, while also giving us a clear look at the design. The images show a flat frame with individual rear camera cutouts, and overall, the phone looks nearly identical to the Oppo A5 launched earlier this year.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but given the specs, the A6i 5G looks set to land in Oppo’s affordable mid-range segment. With a large battery, 5G connectivity, and a familiar design, it could be a solid pick for budget-conscious buyers in China.

An upcoming Oppo smartphone with model number PKW120 surfaced in the database of China’s TENAA certification platform last month. While the listing revealed the specifications and images of the device, its final moniker was not known. In a new development, the device has been spotted in the Google Play Supported Devices list with the “Oppo A6i 5G” moniker. In all likelihood, the device may go official soon in China.

As can be seen in the image, the Oppo A6i 5G has appeared with model number PKW120 and codename OP5DF5L1 in the Google Play Supported Devices list. Interestingly, the same codename also belongs to the PKW110 phone, which has already debuted as the Oppo A5x 5G in China.

As per the TENAA listing, the Oppo A6i 5G (PKW120) features a 6.67-inch LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels. It is powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core processor, which appears to be the Dimensity 6300 chip. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint sensor.

The device has 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It has a 5,860mAh rated battery, with a typical value of around 6,000mAh. It has an 8-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system. The device measures 165.71 x 76.25 x 7.99mm and weighs 194 grams. 

To put this into context, the Oppo A5x 5G (PKW110), which comes with a 12GB+256GB configuration, is priced at 2,299 Yuan (~$320) in China. The A5x has a 32-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The rest of the specifications appear to be identical on both phones.
