After the Early Access and Open Beta build, the Color OS 14 official version is now rolling out for both the Oppo K10 5G in India and the Oppo A77 5G in Australia. The ColorOS 14 stable update for the Oppo A77 5G is already available in India. Interested users need to hurry, as the update is available on an invite basis. The user needs to apply to get the official version of ColroOS 14 on either of the devices.

Some massive new features and fixes are part of the latest update. Along with the luxuries of Android 14, Oppo is bringing some exciting additions to the ColorOS 14. The new Aquamorphic design and the Drag-and-Drop functionality are surely set to elevate the user experience. Below is the official changelog for ColorOS 14:

Aquamorphic Design:

Enhanced sound effects, color systems, and interactions.
Introduction of ten new Aquamorphic-themed ringtones for calls, alarms, and notifications.

Snapchat Integration:

Integration with Bitmoji AOD for faster app navigation and updates on messages and friend activities.

How to apply for an update:

Prerequisites:

• The user should backup important data, as the update may erase all the important personal data.
• Some apps may have compatibility issues with the latest Android 14-based update. You should update all the apps.
• For the Oppo K10 5G and Oppo A77 5G, both must be running Firmware C.44/C.43/C.41/C.40/C.39 to get the Android 14 update.

Note: Some applications may not work properly, and your device may heat up for a couple of days. Due to after-upgrade optimizations, the smartphone may consume more battery, resulting in heating and fast battery drain.

Steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > About device > Tap the top of the page > Tap the icon on the top right > Trial versions > Official version > Apply Now. Fill in your information, and then the Oppo employees will verify and approve your device for the update.
2. After a successful application, proceed to update your device by going to About Device and selecting “Download Now.”

The update for both smartphones will be live on January 25. We advise the users to check the prerequisites and check the announcement thread (Oppo A77 5G here and Oppo K10 5G here).

Oppo is running ColorOS 13 beta program for multiple devices worldwide. The Oppo Reno 8 and the Oppo K10 5G, which also goes by Oppo A77 5G and Oppo A57 5G, joined the initiative in October.

A month later, these smartphones have now started receiving the stable update. The Android 13-based software for these two phones is being rolled out in India, China, and the UAE.

As per the November schedule, the Oppo Reno 8 and Oppo K10 5G were supposed to get the Android 13-based ColorOS 13 stable update on November 18. But in usual Oppo fashion, the phones started receiving them earlier.

Oppo began to push the update for the Oppo K10 5G, Oppo A77 5G, and Oppo A57 5G on November 16 (2 days earlier). As mentioned earlier, the three are basically the same phones with different names. The update is available in India for the K10 5G, the UAE for the A77 5G, and China for the A57 5G.

Similarly, the update rollout for the Oppo Reno 8 5G started on November 17 (a day earlier). For this handset, the update is only available in India and China.

The Android 13 stable update for the aforementioned smartphones is being rolled out in batches. Hence, it will take time to reach every user.

Either way, if you own any of these handsets in the mentioned countries, then head over to Settings to check whether your unit has received the software update.

OPPO has silently unveiled the OPPO A77 5G mid-range phone in Thailand. The handset features a waterdrop notch display that offers a high refresh rate. Its rear shell has a 48-megapixel dual-camera system. It draws power from a Dimensity 8-series 5G chipset and a big battery. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the OPPO A77 5G.

OPPO A77 5G specifications and features

The OPPO A77 5G measures 163.8 x 75.1 x 7.99mm and weighs around 190 grams. It has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90z refresh rate, a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a pixel density of 269ppi.

For selfies and video calls, the OPPO A77 5G features an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Its back panel has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a dual-LED flash. The front and rear cameras can support 1080p video recording at 30fps. The handset boots to Android 12 OS, which is customized with ColorOS 12.1. For security, it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Dimensity 810 chip is at the helm of the OPPO A77 5G. The device comes with 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It draws power from a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. The device offers other features, such as dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

OPPO A77 5G price and availability

The OPPO A77 5G has a price tag of THB 9,999 (~$291) in Thailand. It can be purchased in Midnight Black and Ocean Blue colors. The handset is expected to some other Asian markets in the coming weeks.

OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G and Oppo A77 5G smartphones have appeared on multiple certification sites including NBTC and BIS India. Oppo is expected to launch three new phones under the 8 series – Reno 8 SE, Reno 8 Pro, and the Vanilla Reno 8. The listing on certification websites suggests that the launch of these smartphones is near.

Apart from the 8 series, Oppo will also launch an affordable 5G smartphone named Oppo A77 5G. The listing did not reveal any major specifications of the A77 5G, however, we do have some details about the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G.

OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G listed on NBTC, BIS India, and EEC Certifications

As first reported by MySmartPrice, the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G has appeared on multiple certification sites such as the NBTC, BIS India, and EEC certifications. The NBTC listing confirms the moniker of the smartphone and also reveals its model number- CPH2357.

The smartphone also visited the BIS website and the EEC certification site with the same model number. As per the BIS listing, the device is manufactured in Oppo’s Noida unit. These listings indicate that the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G launch might just be around the corner.

Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display offering a Full HD+ resolution. It may carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will likely be powered by Dimensity 8100 chipset paired with MariSilicon X NPU. Check for more details here.

OPPO A77 5G bags NBTC, FCC, GCF and HTML5Test Certification

Oppo A77 5G has also cleared multiple certifications. The device has been listed on the NBTC website with the model number CPH2339. The smartphone’s name is also mentioned in the listing. Similarly, the smartphone has also made an appearance on the HTML5Test website scoring 474 out of 555 on the test.

We don’t have many details about the smartphone except that it will run Android 12 out of the box and have a 360 x 806 px screen resolution. The smartphone has also bagged GCF certification. Since the smartphone has acquired multiple certifications, we expect it to be launched soon.
