Great news for OPPO A77 users in India – the official rollout of ColorOS 14 x Android 14 is here! Users can apply for the update and take advantage of the latest features on their devices.

To ensure a smooth update process, make sure your OPPO A77 is running the detectable version: CPH2385_13.1.1.550(EX01)/CPH2385_13.1.1.403(EX01). Applying the update is a straightforward process – go to Settings > About device > Tap the top of the page > Tap icon on the top right > Trial versions > Official version > Apply Now. After applying, detect the update and download the new version.

However, before diving into the update, it’s crucial to back up your important personal data to avoid any potential loss due to incompatibility or unforeseen circumstances.

After the update, the Operating System will optimize your device, which might cause temporary issues like device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining. To tackle this, it’s recommended to turn off the screen and charge your device for a full night after a successful update. Earlier this year, OPPO launched many mid-range devices in India. Some of the most popular ones among these include the OPPO F21 Pro, the Oppo A55, and the Oppo A77. The Chinese manufacturer has now announced that it will be cutting the prices of these above-mentioned models in the country. Keep reading for the new prices of these smartphones.

OPPO F21 Pro, OPPO A55 & OPPO A77 new prices in India

After a Rs 1,000 price cut, the OPPO F21 Pro, which was previously available for Rs 22,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, is now available for Rs 21,999. While the 6GB RAM version of the OPPO A55 is currently selling for Rs 14,999, the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the OPPO A55 is now available for a price of Rs 14,499. The current starting pricing for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version of the OPPO A77 is Rs 15,999.

OPPO F21 Pro specs

The 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen of the OPPO F21 Pro has a refresh rate of 90Hz. An octa-core Snapdragon 680 CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage power the smartphone. A 64-megapixel wide-angle primary camera, a 2-megapixel secondary shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens are all included in the smartphone’s triple back camera configuration. The OPPO F21 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

OPPO A55 specs

The OPPO A55 has a 6.55-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G35 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. The Oppo A55 also sports a dual back camera configuration with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The OPPO A55 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.

OPPO A77 specs

The OPPO A77 has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 1TB, the smartphone is also powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 CPU. The OPPO A77 has two rear cameras, one with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and the other with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. To keep the lights on, the device features a 5,000mAh battery paired with 33W fast charging.

OPPO has announced the OPPO A77 in India. It is a new mid-range phone from the brand that offers key specifications, such as an HD+ display, 50-mgeapixel dual rear cameras, and a big battery. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the OPPO A77.

OPPO A77 specifications and features

The OPPO A77 houses a 6.56-inch IPS LCD screen that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It is powered by the Helio G35 chipset and has 4 GB of RAM.

The device comes preloaded with Android 12 OS and ColorOS 12.1. It offers 4 GB of extended RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. For additional storage, it comes equipped with a dedicated microSD card.

The A77 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging support. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The back panel of the device has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro / depth sensor, and an LED flash.

The A77 offers users stereo speakers and a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The other features that are available on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

OPPO A77 is expected to debut in India soon. It will arrive as the successor to the OPPO A76 that was announced earlier this year. Tipster Mukul Sharma has told publication 91Mobiles that the OPPO A77 will launch in the country by the first week of August. The report also reveals the upcoming offering’s pricing and key specifications.

It’s worth noting that the OPPO A77 is a 4G offering and not the A77 5G that debuted in the Thailand market last month. According to Mukul, the smartphone could go official in the country next week i.e. between August 1st to August 5th. 

As per the report, the OPPO A77 will come with a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly be powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The smartphone will pack 8GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage expandable via a microSD card slot. The device is tipped to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging. The OPPO A77 is said to feature 50MP and 2MP dual rear cameras and an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. Software-wise, it will ship with Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 out of the box. 

The report adds that the OPPO A77 will carry a starting price tag of under Rs 16,000 for the base variant and it will cost slightly more for the higher model. The smartphone will be available in Sunset Orange and Sky Blue colour options.

Last week, OPPO had announced is software acceleration engine called Hyper Boost for significantly improving the performance its smartphones. Hyper Boost is all about optimizing the device’s performance in three areas namely, system, games and apps. The OPPO R17 and R17 Pro were confirmed as the first devices to receive Hyper Boost through a software update. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed a list of OPPO phones that will be upgraded to Hyper Boost through the latest ColorOS 5.2.1 update.

The OPPO Find X is scheduled to receive the Hyper Boost engine in this month. In November, the Chinese manufacturer will be making it available to devices like OPPO R11, R11 Plus, R11s, R11s Plus, A83 and A1.

In December, the OPPO R9s, R17, R15, R15 Dream Mirror Edition, A5, A79 and A73 will be getting the Hyper Boost engine through ColorOS 5.2.1 update. In January 2019, OPPO will be releasing the update for OPPO R9s Plus, A77 and A3.

Hyper Boost is OPPO’s version of GPU Turbo technology that is available on Huawei and Honor smartphones. Hyper Boost’s Behavior Aware Scheduling (BAS) feature can arrange the frequency of hardware in 0.2 milliseconds on a smartphone against Linux kernel of Android that adjusts hardware frequency in 20 milliseconds. This will allow the company to significantly boost the system performance on the aforementioned devices. The Chinese manufacturer had also claimed that Hyper Boost powered devices will offer up to 31.9 percent shorter loading times.

For optimized gaming experience on OPPO phones, the company has teamed up with Tencent, Netease, Unreal, Unity and others to ensure lag-free gaming on the top 100 mobile games. OPPO will be working on improving the Hyper Boost engine by adding AI features to it.

Some of you might remember that there was an OPPO A77 released a few months ago. It seems that was for Taiwan as the company has launched another one with a different design and configuration. The new OPPO A77 can be said to have gotten a silent launch as there wasn’t a proper event before its appearance on the official site.

The major difference between this new OPPO A77 and the first one is the design of the rear camera. Th new A77 has a design that can be mistaken for dual cameras while in actual fact, it is just a single sensor and LED flash.

The OPPO A77 has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display. RAM is 4GB and built-in storage is 64GB. It is powered by Qualcomm’s msm8953 a.k.a. Snapdragon 625. The octa-core chip is clocked at 2.0GHz and has an Adreno 506 processor.

For optics, there is a 16MP front facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture, self-timer and 5P lens. The front camera can also take pictures with the depth-of-field effect making sure you are the focus of your selfie. It also has HDR just like the rear camera. The sensor at the back is 13MP with an aperture of f/2.2.

The OPPO A77 runs Android 7.1.1 out of the box with OPPO’s ColorOS 3.1 on top. There is a 3200mAh battery under the hood that OPPO claims should last up to 13 hours for video playback.

The OPPO A77 is priced at ¥2199 and comes in black, gold, and rose gold. It is currently listed as out of stock on OPPO’s website but you can set a reminder to be notified when it is available.

From the leaked image, the Taiwanese model resembles more closely the OPPO A57 with improved specs. The Chinese A77 looks more like the OPPO R11, most especially the U-style antenna and the distinctive single rear-firing camera sensor.

A rough translation of the text on the leaked image says ‘For Youth Together’, hinting at the phone targeting a young audience.

In terms of specification, the OPPO A77 will be powered by a MediaTek MT6750T eight-core 64-bit processor, clocked up to 1.5 GHz and paired with 4GB RAM. The device will come with a 5.5-inch FHD display and will have 64GB, of built-in storage.

For photography and video, the A77 will come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter. Other components include a 3200mAh battery and a standby dual-SIM setup.

According to the source, the OPPO A77 (Taiwan Model), will be released soon.

OPPO A77 smartphone was announced in May this year for Taiwanese markets. It is dubbed as the first phone with “Selfie Portrait” mode made available through a single lens system. Now, new editions of OPPO A77 have appeared on TENAA with A77 and A77t listings. Interestingly, these handsets appear different from A77. Also, there are some differences in the specifications.

The OPPO A77 that is currently available in Taiwan is driven by 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6750T chipset and it is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. However, the newer OPPO A77 models are powered by a same 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. Also, they are preloaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It will customized with the latest edition of Color OS.

The exact name of the chipsets present under the hood of the new A77 and A77t is not known. It is speculated that the new models are running on Snapdragon 625 or Helio P10 chip.  The A77 and A77t smartphones are equipped with 3,115mAh battery which is smaller compared to the 3,200mAh battery from OPPO A77. As mentioned above, there are some design changes on the new A77 and A77t smartphones.

The original OPPO A77 measures 153.3 x 75.2 x 7.2mm and its weight is 153 grams. However, the newer models identically measure 153.3 x 75.9 x 7.4mm and they weigh 148 grams. The redesigned camera module includes the rear snapper and flash in the same window. The camera setup and design of the antenna bands look similar to OPPO R11. Gold, Rose gold and Black are color variants of the new OPPO A77.

Like the original OPPO A77, the new models come with 5.5-inch TFT screen that supports full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel selfie camera on both the new models. The original A77 also features the same set of cameras. These new models have the same 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

The new OPPO A77 seems to be heading to Mainland China as the device has received TENAA certification. At present, there is no information on its pricing and availability. The original OPPO A77 was introduced in Taiwan for NTD 10,990 (~$362).

OPPO added a new phone to its mid-range lineup yesterday. The new phone called the OPPO A77 is the successor to the OPPO A57 released in December.

The OPPO A77 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. OPPO has ditched the Snapdragon 435 from the A57 for MediaTek’s MT6750T processor.

The highlight of the phone is its 16MP front facing camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture and Beauty 4.0. The rear camera remains a 13MP sensor with PDAF and a dual LED flash. However battery capacity has been bumped up to 3200mAh to cover for the bigger display.

OPPO still ships this phone with Color OS 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow making us wonder if OPPO will ever release a phone running Android Nougat asides the yet-to-be-released OPPO R11.

The OPPO A77 has dual SIM support, a fingerprint scanner that doubles as a home button and a 3.5mm audio jack. It will be available in gold and rose gold for NT$ 10,990 (∼$364/¥2510). That is a lot to pay for a phone powered by a MT6750T processor and running Android Marshmallow.

Pre-orders will begin tomorrow, May 19 and will be available for purchase in Taiwan on May 26. Those who order the OPPO A77 before May 26 will get an original flip case and stainless steel travel mug.
