Oppo has finally launched the Oppo A7X in China for a price tag of 2099 yuan (~$ 306). It appeared on the official Oppo website today without any formal announcement. Oppo A7X is another mid-range smartphone with 6.3 inch waterdrop display. It is going to be available starting September 14th at 10:00 Beijing time (2:00 AM GMT). Users can buy the device in two different color variants, star purple and ice flame blue with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

Oppo A7X Specs

Oppo A7X is equipped with MediaTek Helio P60 processor having 4x Cortex-A73, 4x Cortex-A53 up to 2.0 GHz with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for graphics. Further, Oppo has tried something unusual by introducing 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, rather than 64GB. It runs on ColorOS 5.2 having smart sidebar, easy switching between apps and many other features. It packs 6.3 inch of display featuring waterdrop display with over 90.8% body to display percentage and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

In camera department, Oppo A7X packs 16 megapixel camera with 8 MP shooter on the front side. It also packs (Artificial intelligence) AI on both the front and the back side. AI can understand difference between 5 different scenes using face recognition on the rear camera, it also helps to beautify the selfie taken from the front camera. It can also identify the person’s age, gender, skin color and many other dimensions about the objects or persons via camera.

For software, there are different apps and modes to ease the phone operation. Gamers can use the Oppo A7X without any interruptions as it carriers “do not disturb” mode. Further, ColorOS 5.2 is optimised to work with AI to help in scanning business cards, recording marks, scanning documents and much more. Oppo is touting the ColorOS 5.2 as “more intelligent more efficient”.

As mentioned above, it is available in two different colors, star purple and ice flame purple. The Oppo A7X 4/128GB RAM variant is available for registrations and you can own it for 2099 yuan (~$ 306). Company is also offering free Oppo original headphones MH133 along with the purchase. Users can also buy the device on 3 months EMIs without paying any processing fees. It will be made available on September 14th at 10:AM Beijing time (2:00AM GMT).

It is going to be raining water-drop notches for the next couple of months. OPPO kicked off the trend with its F9 and F9 Pro and we have seen phones from Honor and Vivo with a similar design. Now OPPO is back again with another phone, the OPPO A7X.

Official renders of the OPPO A7X have surfaced on the web and they show a device with a near identical design as the OPPO F9. Apart from having the same notch design, they share the same screen size and processor.

The OPPO A7X has a 6.3-inch 2340 x 1080 screen. It packs 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while MediaTek’s Helio P60 chipset powers it. Just like the F9, it has dual cameras on its rear in a 16MP + 2MP configuration. However, it swaps the 25MP front-facing camera for a 16MP sensor.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo. It has the same dimensions as the OPPO F9 (156.7 x 74 x 7.99 mm) and even has the same weight (169 grams) even though it has a much larger battery capacity at 4230mAh. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back but it should also have Face Unlock. A MicroUSB port sits at the bottom along with a 3.5mm audio jack.

According to the source, the OPPO A7X will be launched on September 20 and will sell for ¥2099 (~$307). Based on the renders, the phone will be available in two colors – purple gradient and purple-black with a diamond design.
