Last month, OPPO unveiled the OPPO A72 and OPPO A52 mid-range A series phones in China. Recently, the OPPO A92 phone was spotted on Indonesia’s Lazada e-commerce site with official renders and specs. Today, the smartphone has gone official in Malaysia. The smartphone has a rebadged version of the OPPO A72 phone.

OPPO A92 specifications

The OPPO A92 smartphone has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole at the upper-left corner. The display produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.5 percent.  The TUV Rheinland certified display prevents eye strain by cutting down the blue rays.

The Snapdragon 665 mobile platform powers the device. The SoC is supported by 8 GB of RAM and it has an internal storage of 128 GB. A microSD card slot is available onboard for additional storage.

There is a 5,000mAh battery present under the hood of the OPPO A92 phone. The Android 10 OS comes preloaded on the smartphone along with the ColorOS 7.1 UI. The phone possesses a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

For capturing selfies, the OPPO A92 is fitted with a front camera of 16-megapixel. The quad camera system present inside the rectangular camera module has a 48-megapixel main lens, a 119-degree ultrawide 8-mgaepixel lens, a 2-megapixel lens for macro shots and a 2-megapixel sensor for adding depth effects.

Twilight Black and Shining White are the two color editions of the OPPO A92. The handset is now up for pre-orders on the OPPO Malaysia website. It is priced MYR 1,200 (~$279) and its sales are scheduled to start in the country on May 9.

OPPO A92 has been spinning in the rumour mills for quite a while now, right after the silent launch of the A92s. Twitter tipster Evan Blass recently leaked some official renders of the Aurora Purple variant. Today, the A92 has officially been listed by popular e-retailer Lazada in Indonesia.

There two conflicting store listings for the model which comes in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage only. One of the product pages lists it with a price tag of IDR 3,999,000($267). The second store offers the product for IDR 4,499,000 ($301). Both listings are for the Shining White colour variant and it is bundled with a pair of wireless earphones.. Since these are pre-order pages, we expect the actual price to vary when it is launched. The listing is an indication the model will be launched soon.

The product page is also a rich source of specs details of the A92 and also contains a few official renders. The listing confirms the presence of a tall 6.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 2400pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of the design, the A92 packs a front punch-hole located in the upper-left corner of the screen, which houses a16MP selfie camera. At the rear, there is a quad-camera setup housed in a rectangular module alongside the LED flash.  The rear setup consists of a 48MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture joined by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor.

Further, there is a 5,000 mAh battery onboard with support for 18W fast charging over USB-C. Providing the interface is an Android 10-based ColorOS 7.1. The OPPO A92 will also be available in Shining White, Aurora Purple and Twilight Black colours.

Earlier this month OPPO quietly launched the OPPO A92s powered by the 5G MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset. Later on, a leaked render of the OPPO A92 appeared showing the design. While OPPO is yet to disclose the details and pricing of the A92, a new leaked render of the A92 in Aurora Purple has leaked from Twitter tipster Evan Blass.

The leaked render shows the device from all sides, confirming the presence of a punch-hole located at the upper left corner of its display. The punch-hole is said to house a 16MP sensor. The display which is a 6.5-inch LCD panel with FHD+ resolution is a flat-screen. The phone packs a quad-camera setup at the rear which is housed in a rectangular module. There is no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor but the A92 has a side fingerprint sensor located at the right side of the display. The power button and volume rockers are located on the left side.

The OPPO A92 will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with 8 GB of RAM and there is 128 GB of built-in storage. The ColorOS 7.1 based Android 10 OS will come preloaded on the device and it will cram a 5,000mAh battery.

Apart from the Aurora Purple hue, the OPPO A92 will also be available in Shining White and Twilight Black colours.e phone, it can be said that it is a rebranded version of the OPPO A52.

Oppo just recently announced its Find X2 series of premium phones with ColorOS 7.1 on board. And now, the company is set to bring Oppo Ace 2, another high-end device. Between all this, the brand is also expected to announce two budget smartphones named A52 and A92 as both of them were recently spotted on Google Play Console.

According to the listings on Google Play Console, the upcoming Oppo A52 and Oppo A92 seem to be similar in terms of specifications except for RAM. The listings reveal some of the key specifications of these phones but unfortunately, they do not have the renders of the phones yet and hence the design of these handsets is a mystery for now.

Since both the Oppo A52 and A92 share specifications as mentioned earlier, they will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with Adreno 610 GPU. However, the former will only have 6GB RAM compared to 8GB RAM on the latter. Further, both will sport an FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) display and will run Android 10 (ColorOS 7) out of the box.

The Oppo A92 is not new since it was earlier certified in Singapore and Indonesia but this is the first time we are hearing about the Oppo A52. These devices may simultaneously launch in the above markets and might slowly make their way to other markets like India.
