Starting from April 2, OPPO Digital that was established in the U.S. 14-years ago has stopped making new products like PM3 headphones, Blu-ray and 4K UHD players. The announcement has come at a time when people are ditching physical media for streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu.

OPPO Digital has confirmed that it will continue to provide support to in-warranty and out-of-warranty customers. Buyers who have purchased an OPPO Digital device within the last 30 days will be provided a refund. Until the existing stocks finish, it will continue to sell its products through its websites and authorized retailers.

Also, the company will continue to roll out firmware updates. Newer devices like UDP-203 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc player and UDP-205 4K Ultra HD Audiophile Blu-ray disc player will be provided with frequent firmware updates. However, users of older devices will only receive critical updates.

OPPO Digital that operated independently is owned by China’s BBK Electronics that also own OPPO Electronics, Vivo and OnePlus. OPPO’s phone making business will be unaffected by the recent announcement by OPPO Digital.
