Now, it looks like Vietnam will be the first market to get the device as the phone will go on sale in the country on January 21. However, don&#8217;t worry if you are not in Vietnam, as the smartphone will soon be available in other international markets.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-69742" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO F1 002" width="728" height="485" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002-640x426.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-002-681x454.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>The OPPO F1 comes with Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor under its hood clocked at 1.7GHz. There&#8217;s 3GB of RAM on board which should be more than enough for your everyday multi-tasking. Also, you get 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot, in case you want to expand it further. As for the display, there&#8217;s a decent 5-inch IPS panel up front with Gorilla Glass 4 protection.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-69743" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO F1 001" width="728" height="485" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001-640x426.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-001-681x454.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>At the back, you will find a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash. While we don&#8217;t know the real-life performance of this sensor, you can expect to take pretty good pictures since the focus of the F series is going to be its camera. Up front, you have an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture lens ideal for selfies. You get some software additions as well, like Beautify 3.0, 8 live color filters etc.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-69741" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO F1 003" width="728" height="485" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003-640x426.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-003-681x454.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>Battery is a bit of a disappointment since the phone comes with just a 2500mAh capacity one. But then, you have a pretty thin body measuring just 7.25mm in thickness. There&#8217;s 4G LTE connectivity and dual SIM dual standby support. As for software, you get Color OS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop version.</p>
<p>Pricing has never been the selling point of OPPO devices, and with the OPPO F1 too, there has been no exception. The phone will go on sale in Vietnam for approximately $289. For this price, we would have wanted at least a larger battery. Also, given that there are options like the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/01/11/xiaomi-redmi-3-now-up-for-pre-order/">Redmi 3</a> that features the Snapdragon 616 chipset, it would really be interesting to see how OPPO F1 performs in different markets in the coming weeks.</p>

However, at that time, the company did not announce the specs of the device. Now, before the launch, the company seems to be giving out a few specifications of the device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-69432" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-01.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO F1 01" width="445" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-01.jpg 445w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-01-223x300.jpg 223w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OPPO-F1-01-312x420.jpg 312w" sizes="(max-width: 445px) 100vw, 445px" /></a></p>
<p>Since the OPPO F1 is going to be a camera-centric device, the phone will feature a 13MP rear camera with PDAF. This is nothing out of the ordinary as most smartphones, even budget ones from <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/12/15/xiaomi-redmi-note-3-review-the-best-budget-smartphone-redefined/">Xiaomi </a>and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/27/xiaomi-redmi-note-2-vs-meizu-m2-note-which-is-the-best-budget-smartphone-of-2015/">Meizu</a> can boast of PDAF. But to back this up, the F1 will be coming with the company&#8217;s Pure Image 2.0 software. Up front, you can expect to find an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for better selfies.</p>
<p>As for the other specs, nothing is confirmed for sure other than the 3GB of RAM on board. For the chipset, the company did say that the phone would feature a Snapdragon processor, but which one we are not quite sure. We won&#8217;t be surprised if we find Snapdragon 615 or 616 under the hood, since that&#8217;s the chip that powers the company&#8217;s mid-range smartphones like the OPPO R7.</p>
<p>The release is sometime this month, so we better keep an eye on the company&#8217;s social media for a launch event in the coming days.</p>
