Oppo, the China-based smartphone manufacturer has announced a price cut of Rs. 2,000 (around $31) on Oppo F3 phone in India. After the price cut, the device is now available for purchase in at a price of Rs. 16,990 (approximately $266).

To recall, the Oppo F3 was launched in India earlier this year in May for Rs. 19,990, which roughly converts to $313. However, the phone had earlier received a price cut of Rs. 1,000 in September, bringing down its effective price to Rs. 18,990 (approximately $297). Currently, the phone is available in India in two colour options — Gold and Black.

As the name itself suggests, the Oppo F3 is a toned-down and more affordable model compared to its bigger sibling Oppo F3 Plus. The phone features a 5.5-inch Full HD In-Cell 2.5D curved display with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. The display is protected from the minor scratches by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.

Under the hood, the device is powered by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor, coupled with Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There is also a microSD card slot which allows users to further expand storage capacity up to 128GB.

The highlight of the phone is its dual-selfie camera setup on the front side. The device features a 16-megapixel primary snapper along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle secondary camera. It comes with several software features such as Smart Facial Recognition, Beautify 4.0, Selfie Panorama, Screen Flash, among others.

At the back, the device comes with a single 13-megapixel camera sensor, along with dual-tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. The camera is capable enough to shoot videos in Full HD resolution.

Connectivity options include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS. There is also a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for added protection. Running on Android Marshmallow based Color OS 3.0, the device is powered by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery.

China’s number two phone manufacturer, OPPO, has a new phone launching in a few days. The device called the OPPO F3 was recently seen on GFXBench and Geekbench revealing its specifications. What surfaced online today are official promo images of the phone courtesy of AndroidPure.

The OPPO F3 like its bigger sibling the F3 Plus (released in March) sports dual front facing cameras in the same 16MP + 8 MP configuration. The phone has a 5.5-inch FHD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6750T processor unlike the F3 Plus that has a Snapdragon 653 SoC. There is 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of storage with the option to expand via MicroSD.

The main camera is a 13MP sensor with dual-tone flash. One of the front cameras is a 120° wide-angle sensor for those awesome wide angle selfies. The OPPO F3 has a front mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3200mAh battery with support for fast charging. It also has VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual SIM support (hybrid, nano only).

The OPPO F3 Plus sells for Rs. 30,990 (~$482) in India. The F3 which has a smaller screen and a MediaTek processor will definitely sell for less but may just be a little shy of $400. That’s expensive for a mid-range phone and a lot to shell out for a phone that will launch with Android 6.0. Official launch date is May 4, let’s hope OPPO announces when a Nougat update will be available too.

OPPO‘s upcoming F3 and F3 Plus smartphones first appeared in some of OPPO’s stores’ promotional posters in the Philippines and the device was finally officially confirmed for launch on March 23 recently. Ahead of the launch taking place next week, another leak has surfaced surrounding the F3. This time around, the retail box casing of the OPPO F3 Plus and two promotional posters for the F3 and F3 Plus have surfaced online.

The OPPO F3 Plus along with the F3 is expected to come with dual selfie cameras and the retail box confirms the existence of dual cameras on the F3. While the new feature is a standout feature, it is not coming as much of a surprise because fellow BBK subsidiary Vivo did release the Vivo V5 and V5 Plus last year with dual selfie shooters on the V5 Plus. Just that this time around, both the F3 and F3 Plus are touted as sporting dual cameras. We are not sure if only the F3 Plus will finally feature dual cameras, anyway.

Detailed specs of the OPPO F3 Plus leaked recently showing it is coming with a huge 6-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and having a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 653 chipset (MSM8976) with an octa-core processor, backed by 4GB of RAM. The F3 Plus comes with 64GB internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. Other specs include a 16MP + 8MP front sensors, a 16MP single rear camera, Color OS 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow, a 4000mAh battery, dual-SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity. The OPPO F3 is expected with a smaller screen size but other details are still sketchy.

OPPO seems to have a couple of new smartphones in the works which would hit the market soon. That is if the rumor emanating from the Philippines is anything to go by. A pair of OPPO smartphones named OPPO F3 and F3 Plus were recently spotted in an ad poster somewhere in the Philippines.

In case you don’t know, the Philippines is one of OPPO’s stronghold as the Chinese brand is very popular in the country. The smartphones’ names mean they belong to the F-series which are better known by the alias “Selfie Expert”. But this time around, the F3 and F3 Plus looks set to take that selfie expertise of the F-series to a different plane, with the poster indicating that they would pack dual selfie cameras.

Another interesting fact gathered from the poster is the presence of South Korean singer G-Dragon who seem to have endorsed the smartphones. Apart from the picture of him holding who should be one of the two smartphones, his autograph and name are also crested onto the poster. G-Dragon and his band, the Big Band are popular in the Philippines, so the likelihood of all these being real is big.

OPPO’s previous antecedent when the R9 Plus was spotted in a poster inside an airport in China long before it was announced perhaps further lends credence to the chances of these being real. We hope to see more details especially on the specs and launch date, in the coming days.
