OPPO has started rolling out the official Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update for the OPPO F31 Pro+ 5G and OPPO F31 Pro 5G in India. The update is currently available through an application-based release, with plans to expand to more users and regions later.

For the OPPO F31 Pro+ 5G, the application window opened on February 24. Users must first update their device to version CPH2757_16.0.3.500(EX01) so the update can be detected. For the OPPO F31 Pro 5G, applications began on February 25, and the required base version is CPH2763_16.0.3.500(EX01).

OPPO recommends backing up important data before installing the update to avoid any loss caused by compatibility issues or unexpected errors. After upgrading, the system will run background optimization tasks. During this time, users may notice heating, lag, or faster battery drain.

ColorOS 16 features

ColorOS 16 introduces several AI features. AI Mind Space allows users to record 60-second voice notes by long-pressing the Snap Key. These notes are grouped automatically using Smart Collections. With Google Gemini integration, users can search saved notes or combine personal content with web results. The AI Recorder Assistant creates titles and summaries and reduces background noise.

AI Writer can generate captions for social media images based on the platform and convert text into tables or mind maps for planning. Cross-device features are also expanded. When an iPhone is connected through Bluetooth, calls, messages, and notifications can be viewed on the OPPO phone through the OPPO Dialer. Users can mirror their phone screen to a PC using a cable or cloud connection, with support for up to five app windows at once.

Performance improvements include the Trinity Engine for stable frame rates and the Luminous Rendering Engine for smoother animations. Camera and editing updates add AI Portrait Glow, Motion Photo Collage, slow motion editing tools, and a built in video editor, along with new Flux Themes, more home screen options, broader Aqua Dynamics support, and the Luminous Design across the system.

Oppo has officially launched its F31 series in India, introducing the F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+. The new lineup blends flagship-grade durability with mid-range affordability. You even get an absolutely massive battery pack on all three models, along with smooth OLED displays. So here’s everything you need to know.

Oppo F31 Series: Design & Display

All three models arrive with distinct designs. But some aspects of the design are uniform across the lineup, which includes an IP66 + IP68 + IP69 rating for high end water and dust resistance along with a MIL-STD-810H certification for improved durability and what Oppo calls the 360° Armour Body. Under the hood, the Oppo F31 series houses a large vapor chamber for better heat dissipation.

Each model is thinner than the next, so the Oppo F31 is the thickest but still measures a respectable 8mm (185 grams). Meanwhile, the Oppo F31 Pro measures 7.96mm with a 190 gram weight, while the Oppo F31 Pro is an impressive 7.7mm thin and 195 grams. The F31 has a rounded square camera module on the top left corner in the back, while the F31 Pro has a center aligned squarish camera module. Sticking out is the F31 Pro+ has a circular camera island.

Moving to the front, both the Oppo F31 and F31 Pro sport a 6.57-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1400 nits of peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and up to 2160Hz PWM dimming. On the other hand, the Oppo F31 Pro+ features a tall 6.8-inch OLED panel with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a higher 1600 nits of peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and up to 2160Hz PWM dimming.

Specifications & Features

Oppo’s latest F31 lineup is powered by mid range MediaTek processors. The base model is equipped with the Dimensity 6300 Energy chip, while the F31 Pro has the Dimensity 7300 Energy SoC. Qualcomm’s SNapdragon 7 Gen 3 powers the top end F31 Pro. The entire series couples these chips with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The new Oppo F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+ run on the Android 15 OS based ColorOS 15 custom skin out of the box. An impressively huge 7,000mAh battery pack powers these devices, which also supports 80W wired fast charging.

Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, Hi-Res audio, Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6, dual SIM Support, and stereo speakers. Even the rear camera setup is basically identical on all three models. So you get a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the Oppo F31 houses a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. The higher end F31 Pro and F31 Pro+ feature a 32MP selfie shooter.

Oppo launched the F31 lineup with various useful features like 4K underwater photography, bypass charging for gaming enthusiasts, and various AI powered tools, like AI VoiceScribe, AI Assistant for Notes, AI for summarizing, and other usual AI features (AI Call Assistant).

The Oppo F31 is available in three color options, namely Midnight Blue, Cloud Green, and Bloom Red.

• 8GB + 256GB – Rs 30,999

This model only comes in two color options: Desert Gold and Space Gray.

Oppo F31 Pro+

Lastly, the Oppo F31 Pro+ also arrives in three color options, which include Gemstone Blue, Himalayan White, and Festive Pink.

Oppo will kick off first sales for the F31 Pro models on 19th September 2025, with the vanilla F31 arriving on September 27. These budget phones will sell via Amazon India, Flipkart, the brand’s official website, and various offline retail stores. Oppo India is preparing to introduce its new F31 series on Sept. 15. According to the company, the lineup is designed to provide reliable performance and durability in extreme heat conditions, aiming at users such as traders, delivery workers and professionals who depend on all-day efficiency. The upcoming series has been confirmed to include three models, such as the Find F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+.

Oppo F31 series performance, camera specs

The Oppo F31 Pro+ is officially confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. It offers up to 12GB of RAM, 12GB of virtual RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a vapour chamber measuring 5,219 mm², significantly larger than its predecessor for better thermal control.

The F31 Pro will run on the Dimensity 7300-Energy, with a 4,363 mm² vapor chamber and graphite sheets for heat dissipation. The standard F31 will feature the Dimensity 6300 SoC and a 4,300 mm² vapor chamber, which improves cooling efficiency by 21 percent over the earlier model.

For photography, the F31 Pro+ and Pro will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS and a 32-megapixel front camera, while the F31 will offer a 50-megapixel main lens with a 16-megapixel front sensor. The series also supports 4K video recording, AI-enhanced portraits and underwater photography up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, backed by IP68 water resistance.

All three phones are equipped with a 7,000mAh battery and support 80W SuperVOOC charging, providing 58 percent charge in half an hour. The F31 series will feature AI-driven tools such as VoiceScribe for transcription and translation, Call Assistant for real-time bilingual support, and AI Notes for editing and restructuring text. In addition, OPPO Docs will provide translation and summarisation tools, while Outdoor Mode 2.0 will cater to delivery workers with enhanced readability and network priority for essential apps.

Durability and smoothness

To handle India’s summer temperatures, the F31 series is built to perform smoothly at up to 43°C and adopts an adaptive heat strategy that raises the throttling threshold to 44–45°C. The lineup is also rated IP69, IP68 and IP66, offering protection against dust, drops and water, including resistance for up to 1.5 metres underwater. In addition, the devices have received an A+ certification from SGS for High-Temperature Fluency, confirming responsive touch, steady frame rates and fluid animations under heavy workloads.

Oppo today confirmed that it will launch the F31 series 5G phones in India on September 15th. The new lineup follows the F29 series and arrives with the tagline “Durable Champion.” However, the official announcement doesn’t reveal much else.

Just hours later, though, tipster Paras Guglani shared what appears to be the full specifications of the entire F31 family — including the F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro Plus. The leaked image lays everything out.

Oppo F31 series specifications

The standard Oppo F31 5G is fitted with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display running at 120Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. On the camera front, it carries a 50MP + 2MP dual rear setup with a 16MP selfie camera. The highlight here is the 7,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The F31 Pro 5G keeps the same screen size but swaps in the Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset and upgrades the front camera to 32MP, while the F31 Pro Plus 5G takes things up a notch with a 6.79-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and 256GB of storage. Despite the differences in hardware, all three models share the same 7,000mAh / 80W charging setup.

Another thing similar in all the phones is durability. The F31 series boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, covering resistance against dust, water, and even high-pressure sprays. Oppo is also promoting what it calls a “360-degree Armor Body” along with an ultra-slim design.

As for pricing, the F31 may launch at around Rs 20,000 ($225). The F31 Pro could be priced at Rs 30,000 ($340), while the F31 Pro+ is expected to cost about Rs 35,000 (~$400).

Oppo is reportedly gearing up to launch the Oppo F31 series of smartphones this month (September) in India. Reports have revealed that the lineup will comprise three devices: Oppo F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+. A fresh leak has surfaced online, courtesy of tipster Yogesh Brar, revealing key details about the colors, pricing, and USPs of the F31 models. 

Oppo F31 series colors, features and pricing

According to the leak, the standard F31 may come in Blue, Green and Red, the F31 Pro in Gold and Grey, and the Pro+ variant in Blue, White and Pink. The USPs of these three devices include 7,000mAh batteries, IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection, and 50-megapixel cameras.

In terms of pricing, the F31 Pro+ model is expected to cost around Rs 35,000 (~$400), while the F31 Pro could be priced at Rs 30,000 (~$340). The base Oppo F31 may arrive at Rs 20,000 (~$225), making it the most accessible option in the series.

Oppo F31 series to focus on durablity

In parallel, a recent market research conducted by Counterpoint Research, which surveyed over 4,500 respondents across 26 cities, found that 78 percent of users avoid using their phones in rain, water or extreme heat due to fear of damage. Repair costs were also highlighted as a burden, with a significant portion of users spending between Rs 2,000 and Rs 10,000 on fixes.

To address these concerns, OPPO emphasised that its phones undergo more than 150 quality tests at its Greater Noida facility before reaching stores. These include drop trials from 2.5 metres, water immersion at 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, and performance checks under extreme heat, cold and humidity conditions. The goal is to ensure that devices can withstand everyday accidents and harsh weather scenarios.

According to Oppo’s product strategy team, durability is no longer optional but a necessity. Certification processes such as SGS, TÜV Rheinland and MIL-STD-810H-2022 are being applied to new models, including the F31 series, along with OPPO’s 360° Armour Body structure for added protection. Counterpoint Research added that Indian consumers strongly associate durability with peace of mind, noting that 79 percent rank it as a top factor when buying smartphones.

Leaked renders and specs shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on August 24 give an early look at the devices. Despite sharing the same series name, the three models are styled quite differently.

• F31 Pro+: Flat display, circular rear camera housing, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage.
• F31 Pro: Squircle-shaped camera module, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 (likely the “Energy” variant).
• F31: Uses MediaTek Dimensity 6300 and features a vertically stacked pill-shaped camera design.

All three models are said to pack 7,000mAh batteries — larger than the F29’s 6,500mAh and the F29 Pro’s 6,000mAh. Charging also sees an upgrade: the F31 and F31 Pro are expected to support 80W fast charging, while details for the Pro+ haven’t surfaced yet. Given Oppo’s past launches, it could go even higher.

Color options will vary across the lineup:

According to reports, Oppo is targeting a release in India sometime in mid-September, just ahead of the festive season. With larger batteries, faster charging, and varied designs, the F31 series is set to compete against the likes of the upcoming Vivo Y500 and Redmi Note 15. Pricing details haven’t leaked yet, but Oppo is clearly positioning this as a strong mid-range refresh.

Oppo’s next F-series phone for India won’t be called the F30. Instead, the company is skipping directly to the F31 series, which has already made a few headlines. Now, a new leak from tipster Abhishek Yadav on X has revealed more about the upcoming smartphones.

According to the leak, the F31 series will include three models, unlike the two we were expecting. The series will reportedly consist of the vanilla Oppo F31, an Oppo F31 Pro, and probably a more feature-packed Oppo F31 Pro Plus.

As for the specs, the Oppo F31 will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and feature a 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.

Likewise, the F31 Pro is said to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, with the same battery and charging setup as the vanilla model.

The top-tier Oppo F31 Pro Plus could be the standout model of the series. Unlike its siblings, this device may feature a flat display, which is often preferred for its sleek design and practical usability. 

More importantly, it is expected to ditch MediaTek in favor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. This will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. What may remain the same is the battery size and probably the charging as well. 

As for availability, it seems like buyers in India won’t have to wait long. The leak suggests that Oppo is preparing to launch the F31 series in mid-September, with possible launch dates being either September 12 or September 14. 

For now, Oppo hasn’t teased the series, and there are no certification listings pointing to an imminent release. Still, with leaks coming from multiple sources, it wouldn’t be surprising if Oppo starts talking about the F31 lineup in the coming weeks.
