Staged leaks are the best type of leaks as we get to know more about the products being leaked. On the other hand, random leaks by a kid roaming in a store doesn’t give much detail about the product (in our case a mobile phone). The recent apparently a stage by Oppo show photos of their new LTE phablet. This phablet is supposedly be announced on 10^th June in LTE Conference. As Oppo is busy in rolling out Oppo N1 Mini and R6007 LTE, it is likely they may be working on other phone to fulfill the demand of consumers of large phones. According to the picture the device is of good size, as apparent from the picture, the guy holding the phone with phone near his ear. The phone is wider than the ear. Similarly, the picture tells that the pocket of guy’s jeans is of just the right size.

The most prominent thing in the picture (although the pictures are blurry) is the styling of the phone. It is one such aspect which is not emphasized by Oppo much. The leaked phone has dual tone styling that makes it look like a bigger version of iPhone 5S. Similar is the camera which is placed near the top of the phone in middle. The dual tone styling of white and silver makes it different from its cousins Oppo N1, Find 5 or Find 7, which sport one color designing. The photos shows that the body of the phone is made up of metal, which is in high demand now a day. Guesses about the dimension of the phone shows that it is somewhat 5.5 to 6 inches. It is more probable as the Find 7 has 5.5 inch and N1 is 5.9 inches. We don’t have to wait much as the announcement date is approaching.

The OPPO Find 5 is now more popular in some country, and now there is a community that already develope the Ubuntu Touch OS that’s preparing for OPPO Find 5 smartphone.

Those community is not officialy released under the Canonical company, but that’s a third-party community that concern to develop Ubuntu OS for OPPO smartphone, while we are know that OPPO Find 5 is pre-installed with Android OS but now this phone is also ready to running UBuntu Touch OS.

With the Oppo Find 5 sporting some impressive specs at an equally impressive price, the device could find favour with Ubuntu enthusiasts burnt out on the (seemingly inevitable) failure of the Edge campaign.

Specifications wise the Oppo doesn’t quite match the Edge – but at $533 (nearly $300 less than the Edge’s original price), and the fact it’s already available to buy,  it’d be unfair to expect it to.

The device, available in 16GB and 32GB versions, comes with:

• Snapdragon (A7) Quad-Core CPU @ 1.5GHz
• Adreno 320 GPU
• 5″ screen (1080×1920, 441 PPI)
• 2GB RAM

Features-wise the device boasts the usual set:

The developer behind the port, Oppo forum user Eoghan, has only just started ‘…getting a device tree etc modified to work with ubuntu touch’s build environment’. As such there’s little ‘fancy pants’ stuff to see for now.

But, with Ubuntu Touch developers providing a comprehensive set of documentation on porting Ubuntu Touch to Android devices, it shouldn’t be too long before Eoghan is able to get the platform up and running.

Here’s hoping that Ubuntu Touch also finds (ho-ho) its way to Oppo’s forthcoming R819 device. It’s slimmer, sleeker albeit less powerful than the Find 5.

The new unknown OPPO smartphone has different design, but has a regular Android softbutton under the screen that covered with white body.

As we can see, the new unknown OPPO smartphone has capacituve touch screen and there is a front-facing camera above the touch screen panel, while the speaker and light sensor is also locate on the above screen.

Meanwhile, recently Oppo exec also expressed about the availability of Oppo Find 5 which will be marketed in China prior to the upcoming Lunar New Year and is available in both 16GB and 32GB models. And as is well known, China’s Lunar New Year falls on the first week itself in February 2013.
