<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-482637 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/unknown-1.png?x44794" alt="Oppo" width="544" height="487" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/unknown-1.png 641w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/unknown-1-300x269.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/unknown-1-469x420.png 469w" sizes="(max-width: 544px) 100vw, 544px" /></p>
<p>The senior executive revealed on his Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website) that the next generation flagship foldable Oppo smartphone will not have issues regarding the display creasing. For those unaware, flexible screen panels have typically faced issues of the display creasing overtime, with brands working on eliminating the issue entirely. Similarly, Lau also claimed that the next gen foldable handset will not face any issues with its external display as well. This is likely related to the odd resolution or size and functionality.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the official also added that the Chinese smartphone maker also plans to make its products more sustainable and believes that there is a lot of room for improvement in this regard. Apart from this, Peta Lau also talks about molding hardware selection, technical planning, and product discussions based around user experience. He also pointed out that it is also important to focus on other issues like display power consumption, display quality, display consistency, and changes in the App ecosystem.</p>

<p>Keep in mind that it is still unclear if Pete Lau is talking about the Find N 2 in particular. All we know for sure is that these ideas will be regarding next generation foldable smartphones. Although, there have been certain reports over the last couple of months regarding the Find N 2. So, it likely refers to this model.</p>

<p>As <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/627/721.htm">per the latest report</a> from <em>Digital Chat Station</em>, OPPO is working on two new foldable smartphones, one with a clamshell fold design and another with a book-like folding design.</p>
<figure id="attachment_453684" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-453684" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-453684" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N.jpg?x44794" alt="OPPO Find N" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/OPPO-Find-N-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-453684" class="wp-caption-text">OPPO Find N</figcaption></figure>
<p>The report adds that the upcoming smartphone with a clamshell folding design, similar to the Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-4">Galaxy Z Flip</a> lineup, has been codenamed Dragonfly but the actual name of the smartphone has not been decided yet.</p>
<p>The phone will reportedly come with a display offering a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120hz">120Hz refresh rate</a> and the company is focusing on reducing the thickness of the foldable smartphone as well as adopting a new hinge structure.</p>
<p>On the other hand, OPPO is also working on a successor of the Find N smartphone which will reportedly be named OPPO <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo-find-n-2">Find N 2</a> and will offer a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also come optimized for weight and thickness compared to the current model.</p>
<p>It is also being claimed that the company will be launching a series of high-performance flagship smartphones in the second half of this year and the devices will come powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> Snapdragon and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a> Dimensity processors.</p>

A tipster had earlier shared that the company is gearing up for the release of a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/31/oppo-tipped-to-be-working-on-galaxy-z-flip3-like-clamshell-foldable-phone/">Galaxy Z Flip3 rival</a>. But a new report now details another model with a unique dual-hinge design.</p>
<p>On July 6, 2021, OPPO filed a new design patent for a foldable phone with the ability to fold at two points (via <a href="https://nl.letsgodigital.org/opvouwbare-telefoons/oppo-find-n-dual-fold/">LetsGoDigital</a>). This patent was approved and released this month. The device featured within is equipped with a 5.5” cover display and a 7.1” inner screen.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-441586 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-1024x597.jpg?x44794" alt="oppo-find-dual-fold" width="696" height="406" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-1024x597.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-768x448.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-696x406.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-1068x623.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold-720x420.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-dual-fold.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The inside display has a wide format and is comparable to the one on the OPPO Find N, although the patent design is bout 15% narrower. The second hinge allows the right-most part with the rear cameras to be folded in the opposite direction. This in turn helps the triple camera setup to be brought to the front, using which selfies can be clicked.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-441587 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-1024x596.jpg?x44794" alt="oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone" width="696" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-1024x596.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-768x447.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-696x405.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-1068x622.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone-722x420.jpg 722w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/oppo-find-n-dual-fold-smartphone.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The outside display has a punch hole in the top center, housing the selfie camera. There are no such cutouts on the main screen though, opening up the possibility of an under-screen camera.</p>
<p>As for the other stuff, you get the power button on the right and volume keys on the left. Both top and bottom edges feature speakers and microphones, but the bottom also has a USB-C port.</p>
<p>The release date of the futuristic foldable phone is completely in the dark at the moment and it isn&#8217;t even known if OPPO is planning to make the device go mainstream. Regardless, we should be seeing more leaks in the coming months, so stay tuned.</p>
