Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shared an interesting exclusive today claiming that the Oppo Find X10 Ultra could again be the only Android flagship in 2027 with dual periscope camera and a 10x super telephoto lens.

According to DCS, when it comes to “top-tier” Android flagships next year, the Find X10 Ultra looks set to be the only device offering this combination. The tipster hints that this setup will also see further upgrades over its predecessor, though specifics haven’t been shared yet.

This lines up well with what we already know about the phone. The Find X10 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO OLED display, a 7,000mAh+ battery, and a next-generation 200MP Samsung HPA LOFIC primary camera sensor. The Ultra model is expected to launch in the first half of 2027, following the rest of the X10 lineup.

Vivo quietly backs from 10x telephoto for X500 Ultra

The more intriguing part of DCS’ claim is that, allegedly, a rival has quietly backed away from the 10x zoom race. The tipster reveals that one Android brand was evaluating a 10x telephoto solution, but its latest prototype has now been cancelled.

The brand is now said to be sticking with its existing formula of a 200MP periscope camera paired with ISZ (In-Sensor Zoom) technology instead. 

All signs point to this being the Vivo X500 Ultra. Just days ago, a leak surfaced suggesting Vivo was testing a 10x telephoto camera for the X500 Ultra, which would have been a major upgrade from the X300 Ultra’s single 200MP periscope offering around 3.7x optical zoom. It now appears those plans have been scrapped before they got off the ground.

So while Vivo falls back on its tried-and-tested periscope + ISZ approach, Oppo looks set to double down on its dual-periscope strategy.

The Oppo Find X10 series has been rumored to be in the works with three models: the Find X10, X10 Pro, and X10 Pro Max. But a new report from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests Oppo is changing its plans.

According to the leak, the company could be delaying the Find X10 Pro Max, and there is even a chance that the model may be canceled altogether.

Meanwhile, the same tipster says the engineering sample of the Find X10 Ultra is currently being tested with a 3x periscope camera. More interestingly, the company is reportedly comparing two sensor options for this camera: a 200-megapixel 1/1.2-inch sensor and a 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch sensor.

On paper, the 1/1.2-inch sensor should be the better choice. That is because a larger sensor usually captures more light, and it may also help deliver better background separation and stronger overall image quality. The 1/1.28-inch sensor is still very large, though, so the final result may depend on Oppo’s tuning, lens quality, and image processing.

The tipster had also previously said Oppo is testing a 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch main camera sensor with LOFIC support for the Find X10 Ultra.

What we know about Find X10 Pro Max

While Oppo could be changing plans, rumors had already spilled key details about the Find X10 Pro Max. It was rumored to feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, and even ultra-wide options ranging from a 200MP sensor (1/1.56-inch) to a smaller 50MP unit. 

Display testing was also reportedly ongoing, with two variants under consideration: a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO flat display and a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO panel.

Under the hood, the series is expected to run on next-generation chips from MediaTek, including a rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro built on a 2nm process, while the standard models may use the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9500 Plus.

Well ahead of its arrival, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared details about what appears to be its primary camera.

Oppo Find X10 Ultra’s primary camera tipped

In a recent Weibo post, the tipster suggested that Oppo is testing a next-generation 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch LOFIC primary camera sensor. He later confirmed in the comments section that this sensor will be exclusively available on the Find X10 Ultra.

For those unaware, LOFIC, which stands for Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor, is a sensor technology designed to improve dynamic range by helping cameras capture better highlight and shadow details in difficult lighting conditions. In February, the same tipster claimed that this sensor is expected to debut around 2027 on an Ultra-tier flagship phone.

DCS also claimed that Oppo is testing multiple camera technologies on the alleged Find X10 Ultra, including a customized 100-megapixel 1:1 square front-facing camera sensor. Such a selfie camera could allow the phone to capture a larger image area, making it easier to crop photos and videos for different social media formats without losing much detail.

Traditional front cameras are usually optimized for vertical shots, meaning users often need to rotate the phone horizontally to record wider selfie videos or group photos. A 1:1 square sensor could address this by capturing a wider usable frame from a single shot.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Find X10 Ultra may feature a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO OLED display and a 7,000mAh+ battery. Under the hood, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.

Oppo is yet to complete the Find X9 series — the Find X9s Pro and Find X9 Ultra are set to launch on April 21. But if you’ve been following us, early details of the Find X10 lineup have already started to surface in the rumor mill.

And while there’s little doubt that the first devices in the Find X10 series will launch later this year, an Oppo official has confirmed that there won’t be an Oppo Find X10 Ultra in 2026.

Zhuo Shijie, who heads Oppo’s Find series products, stated plainly that the Oppo Find X10 Ultra isn’t coming in 2026. “I can tell you with certainty that the Find X10 Ultra will not be launched this year. Please stop believing the rumors,” he said on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

Meanwhile, the current focus is on the Find X9 Ultra. Oppo says this device is like “putting a Hasselblad in your pocket,” which means it’s all about the camera. Its headline feature is a new optical system built around a five-reflection prism, enabling an equivalent focal length of 460mm. This translates to native 10x optical zoom, 20x optical-quality zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom. It’s a 50MP periscope lens.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra specifications (rumored)

The rest of the camera system is also packed. It has a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera for portraits. For selfies, it may include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Beyond the camera, the Find X9 Ultra is said to feature a 6.82-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution, similar to its predecessor.

Internally, the phone is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. The battery capacity is rumored to be around 7,050mAh, which is larger than the 6100mAh battery of Find X8 Ultra. Charging support may include 80W wired and 50W wireless speeds.

However, a fresh leak shared by tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the chip has not been completely shelved and could power a next-generation flagship arriving in the second half of the year. This development has now been linked to Oppo’s upcoming Find X10 series.

Oppo Find X10 series chipset details tipped

According to information shared by Digital Chat Station, an upcoming flagship lineup having standard, Pro, and Pro Max models are currently being tested with different MediaTek processors across its variants. The tipster has previously indicated that the Find X10 range may include three models, namely the Find X10, Find X10 Pro, and Find X10 Pro Max. Therefore, the tipster could be talking about the X10 family in the latest leak.

The standard Find X10 is said to be evaluated with the Dimensity 9500 Plus, which is reportedly built on a 3nm process. Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Max models are expected to move to a more advanced 2nm Dimensity 9600-series chipset. If accurate, this approach would allow Oppo to clearly differentiate performance tiers within the same flagship family, rather than relying solely on camera or display upgrades.

Early rumors suggest that the Find X10 series could be unveiled in China around October. Oppo is also expected to follow up with a Find X10 Ultra model a few months later, which may switch to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, continuing the brand’s trend of reserving Snapdragon silicon for its top-tier Ultra devices.
