As per the new leak, the Oppo Find X10 Ultra is currently being tested with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera capable of 10x optical zoom. The tipster claims Oppo is evaluating two different sensors for the module. One prototype reportedly uses Samsung’s ISOCELL GNB sensor, while another is said to feature the OmniVision OV51A. Both sensors are expected to measure approximately 1/1.95 inches.

The leak further states that the periscope camera will continue to support telephoto macro photography, allowing users to capture close-up subjects without relying on the primary camera. If the final hardware retains the rumored 10x optical zoom, it would mark one of the most notable telephoto upgrades in the Find series.

The latest information builds on earlier reports that claimed the Find X10 Ultra would feature a 200-megapixel LOFIC main camera alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with upgraded optical image stabilization. He mentioned that the prototype unit at the time featured a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an approximately 1/1.3-inch sensor, along with a 50-megapixel periscope super telephoto camera with an approximately 1/1.95-inch sensor, which will reportedly support 10x optical zoom. Its other cameras are said to include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

According to other leaks, the Oppo Find X10 Ultra could feature a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO BOE display with ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels and support for the BT.2020 color gamut. Under the hood, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip and a battery of around 8,500mAh. The prototype is said to feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an approximately 1/1.3-inch sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel Samsung GNB periscope super telephoto camera with an approximately 1/1.95-inch sensor, which is said to support 10x optical zoom. In the comments section of the post, the tipster added that the final 200-megapixel telephoto sensor has not yet been decided, with another HP-series sensor remaining under consideration.

DCS also adds that BOE remains the display supplier for the current engineering samples. As always, these details should be treated as unofficial until Oppo confirms them.

While the Find X10 Pro Max and Find X10 Ultra are expected to feature the same display, the two devices are likely to be powered by different chipsets. The Pro Max could pack a Dimensity 9600-series chip, while the Ultra edition may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

Its Hasselblad-tuned setup includes a pretty rare 50MP 10x periscope telephoto lens (230mm equivalent). The current flagship offers up to 20x “optical-quality” zoom through clever image processing. The downside? The relatively small 1/2.75-inch sensor on that 10x lens has struggled in low light compared to the bigger 3x periscope in the same phone.

According to well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Oppo is planning to address exactly that issue with the Find X10 Ultra. In one of his recent Weibo posts, he claimed the sensor behind the 10x telephoto could jump to a much larger 1/1.95-inch unit. The resolution remains 50MP.

That bigger sensor should pull in more light, cut down on noise, and deliver noticeably better results in dim or tricky lighting conditions. He also mentioned it won’t be the Sony LYT-600, but the exact sensor model is still unknown this early on.

Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu has claimed that Oppo’s next-generation wide foldable phone, which is tentatively called the Oppo Find N7 Wide, could arrive with display technology aimed at making the crease significantly less visible. The tipster also suggested that the device may feature a horizontally arranged camera module on the rear.

The same source also claimed the Oppo Find X10 Ultra is being tested with an ultra-thin bezel design that could deliver a more immersive viewing experience. In addition, it is said to feature a circular rear camera module, continuing a design language that has become familiar across several premium Chinese flagships.

Q1 2027 launch expected

Earlier this month, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that Oppo was testing a new book-style wide foldable phone that could debut in the first quarter of 2027. The Find X10 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO OLED display, a 7,000mAh+ battery, and a next-generation 200MP Samsung HPA LOFIC primary camera sensor. Vivo quietly backs from 10x telephoto for X500 Ultra

The more intriguing part of DCS’ claim is that, allegedly, a rival has quietly backed away from the 10x zoom race. The tipster reveals that one Android brand was evaluating a 10x telephoto solution, but its latest prototype has now been cancelled.

The brand is now said to be sticking with its existing formula of a 200MP periscope camera paired with ISZ (In-Sensor Zoom) technology instead. 

All signs point to this being the Vivo X500 Ultra. Just days ago, a leak surfaced suggesting Vivo was testing a 10x telephoto camera for the X500 Ultra, which would have been a major upgrade from the X300 Ultra’s single 200MP periscope offering around 3.7x optical zoom. It now appears those plans have been scrapped before they got off the ground.

So while Vivo falls back on its tried-and-tested periscope + ISZ approach, Oppo looks set to double down on its dual-periscope strategy.

On paper, the 1/1.2-inch sensor should be the better choice. That is because a larger sensor usually captures more light, and it may also help deliver better background separation and stronger overall image quality. The 1/1.28-inch sensor is still very large, though, so the final result may depend on Oppo’s tuning, lens quality, and image processing.

The tipster had also previously said Oppo is testing a 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch main camera sensor with LOFIC support for the Find X10 Ultra.

What we know about Find X10 Pro Max

While Oppo could be changing plans, rumors had already spilled key details about the Find X10 Pro Max. It was rumored to feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, and even ultra-wide options ranging from a 200MP sensor (1/1.56-inch) to a smaller 50MP unit.

Under the hood, the series is expected to run on next-generation chips from MediaTek, including a rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro built on a 2nm process, while the standard models may use the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9500 Plus.

In February, the same tipster claimed that this sensor is expected to debut around 2027 on an Ultra-tier flagship phone.

And while there’s little doubt that the first devices in the Find X10 series will launch later this year, an Oppo official has confirmed that there won’t be an Oppo Find X10 Ultra in 2026.

Zhuo Shijie, who heads Oppo’s Find series products, stated plainly that the Oppo Find X10 Ultra isn’t coming in 2026. “I can tell you with certainty that the Find X10 Ultra will not be launched this year. Please stop believing the rumors,” he said on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

Meanwhile, the current focus is on the Find X9 Ultra. Oppo says this device is like “putting a Hasselblad in your pocket,” which means it’s all about the camera. Its headline feature is a new optical system built around a five-reflection prism, enabling an equivalent focal length of 460mm. This translates to native 10x optical zoom, 20x optical-quality zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom. It’s a 50MP periscope lens.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra specifications (rumored)

The rest of the camera system is also packed. It has a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera for portraits. For selfies, it may include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Beyond the camera, the Find X9 Ultra is said to feature a 6.82-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution, similar to its predecessor.

Internally, the phone is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
