Last month, Oppo announced the Oppo Find X5 series comprising the Find X5 and X5 Pro phones in some European markets. Both phones come with powerful Snapdragon SoC and have Hasselblad branded cameras. Now, the series has landed in the United Kingdom and the pre-orders have begun.

The Find X5 costs £749 and the Find X5 Pro retails for £1,049. The series is now on pre-orders in the region and it will be on bookings till March 23. Notably, those who pre-order any of these phones will get free gifts. Once you pre-order any of these phones, you can visit the Oppo Claim website anytime between March 24 to April 28 and claim your free gift.

Oppo is offering free gifts like the AirVOOC wireless charging stand, Oppo Enco X TWS earbuds, Oppo Watch Free, and the Kevlar Aramid case.

Oppo Find X5 Series Specifications 

The Oppo Find X5 has a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Find X5 Pro gets a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate. Both come with a 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide + 13MP telephoto triple camera system and have a 32MP selfie shooter.

At the helm, the X5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, while the vanilla X5 gets a Snapdragon 888 SoC. Both support 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, but the X5 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery, while the X5 packs a 4,800mAh cell. The series boots on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 OS.

Chinese tech giant and BBK subsidiary OPPO has officially launched its latest flagship under the Find X series. The latest model is the Find X5 series made up of the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. As you would expect, the OPPO Find X5 Pro is higher than the X5 in several aspects including image processing, battery technology, and even the finishing. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of the Find X5 Pro.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is a premium device packing a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440p, 1,300 nits peak brightness, and a variable refresh rate that reaches up to 120Hz. The display also comes with a 10-bit color rendering, 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and up to 1,000Hz touch sampling rate.

Rumors of a Dimensity 9000 chipset for the Find X5 Pro turned out to be false as the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB RAM while there is 256GB storage onboard. The premium flagship gets its interface from the Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 which brings some improvement in security, aesthetics, and privacy over ColorOS 12. The OS also brings a new Multi-Screen Connect feature, allowing users to switch between the phone and Windows PC.

The Find X5 Pro comes with a self-developed 6nm MariSilicon X chip which delivers the most important upgrade on the phone – the camera processor. The chip relays AI noise reduction and a host of image processing duties including 4K Ultra Night Video with reduced photographic noise and better colors than typical night video. Furthermore, OPPO says the image chip enables the capture of HDR video at 20-bits per channel on the phone.

The phone’s camera configuration includes a 50MP wide Sony IMX766 and a second 50MP ultrawide sensor. There is a third 13MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical magnification (52mm) and 5x hybrid zoom. The camera also comes with the Hasselblad Natural Color Calibration feature, which relies on the new 13-channel color sensor. OPPO also installed a glass front element on the cameras in other to improve color accuracy and reduce chromatic aberration. You also get a new 5-axis optical image stabilization system that combines lens and sensor-shift tech.

For selfies, there is a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with RGBW sub-pixels, 80° FoV, automatic 90° group selfie mode.

In terms of the build quality, the Find X5 Pro packs a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus at the front while the rear panel is made from ceramic which is tougher than glass. Apart from strength, the ceramic panel also assists in heat conduction, thus improving cooling.

Under the hood, the device crams a decent 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC charging capable of charging the phone from 0-50% in 12 minutes. The phone also features support for 50W AirVOOC charging which can fully charge the phone in just 47 minutes. The device is fitted with a Battery Health Engine that extends the battery life and can withstand up to 1,600 charge cycles before the battery starts degrading by 20%. The phone also has a 3D graphene film covering the charging coil and the motherboard in order to improve cooling. There is also a vapor chamber for the Snapdragon chip which is said to be 75% bigger than on the previous model.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro comes in Ceramic White and Glaze Black and is priced at €1,300 for the sole 12GB+256GB option. The device will go on sale on March 14.

OPPO is gearing up to launch its upcoming flagship smartphones dubbed the Find X5 series on February 24 in China. The new smartphones will be launching alongside other OPPO products like the Enco X2 TWS earbuds, and OPPO Pad tablet at a mega launch event at 7 PM (local time).

Now, before the launch event, the Find X5 Pro with CPH2305 model number and the vanilla Find X5 with CPH2307 model number were spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database. According to the certification, the phones will support 15W Qi wireless charging speeds.

In Europe, the device is said to debut in only one memory configuration being 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with no support for a memory card. The battery on the Find X5 Pro appears to have 5000mAh capacity and support for 80W fast charging. The device is also said to provide IP68 protection against water and dist.

For photography, the OPPO Find X5 Pro will come featuring two 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensors for its primary and ultrawide cameras. The third camera present on the camera island is a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with an F/2.4 aperture which is capable of 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom. The front camera of the device uses a Sony IMX709 sensor, which comes with 32 megapixels, an F/2.4 aperture, a 90-degree field of view.

The device will also feature the newly developed MariSilicon X Imaging NPU for image processing and AI-based applications and enhancements. Additionally, the cameras of the OPPO Find X5 Pro have been developed in collaboration will Hasselblad, and will likely feature their custom tuning which we’ve previously seen in flagship OnePlus devices.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro has been rumored to come with an impressive camera system accompanied by the brand’s Marisilicon NPU, however, a new render and specs leak has revealed that the device is also packing a Hasselblad flavored surprise.

German publication WinFuture has leaked new render images of the upcoming OPPO Find X5 Pro which showcases the design of the upcoming smartphone in detail.

The design is in line with previous renders of the Find X5 Pro and appears to house a triple camera setup on a somewhat unorthodox-shaped camera island. The screen has curved edges and it appears to feature the volume rocker on the left side and the power button on the right. the USB-C port, speaker grill, and SIM slot are all present on the bottom.

The camera offering on this device is where things start to get really interesting. As mentioned above, the camera system of the Find X5 Pro is apparently being developed in collaboration with Hasselblad who have till now only worked on OnePlus Flagship devices, which is a sub-brand of OPPO.

The Find X5 Pro uses two 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensors to work as its primary and ultrawide camera. The primary camera has an 80-degree FOV and an F/1.7 aperture, while the ultrawide comes with an F/2.2 aperture. Both primary and ultrawide cameras will come with optical image stabilization.

The third camera present on the camera island is a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with an F/2.4 aperture which is capable of 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom.

The device omits laser assist and ToF systems for autofocus and is instead going with a so-called omnidirectional “All Pixel PDAF” to take care of autofocus tasks. The device will also feature the newly developed MariSilicon X Imaging NPU for image processing and AI-based applications and enhancements. The additional sensor present on the camera island appears to be a color sensor.

The front camera of the device uses a Sony IMX709 sensor, which comes with 32 megapixels, an F/2.4 aperture, a 90-degree field of view.

Battery and other features

The battery on the Find X5 Pro appears to have 5000mAh capacity and support for 80W fast charging. The device is also said to provide IP68 protection against water and dist. The device is apparently made out of aluminum and glass and weighs 218 grams while measuring 8.5mm in thickness. It is also touted to come with a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

The tipster has also stated that the device will not be cheap and will most likely be launched at or beyond 1200 Euros in Germany. So we are probably looking at similar pricing across Europe. So far, the tipster knows of two color variants of the OPPO Find X5 Pro namely ceramic black and ceramic white.
