The smartphone which was unveiled just a few days ago lets users connect with satellites for calls and messages. Consumers in China can purchase the Oppo Find X7 Ultra Satellite Edition starting today for 7,499 yuan (approximately $1036). This model features a single configuration with 16GB of RAM and a substantial 1TB of storage. The phone is available through Oppo’s official online store and comes in three colors: Ocean Blue, Sepia Brown, and Tailored Black.

The Satellite Edition’s primary upgrade is its satellite connectivity, which lets users make calls and send text even when there’s no connectivity available. This ensures users stay connected even in areas where cellular networks aren’t reliable.

The OPPO Find X7 and X7 Ultra debuted earlier in January this year in China. Although not launched in the global markets yet, they are the industry-first smartphones with two periscope cameras. The brand is working on a new variant of the Ultra model reportedly called Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition. Now, it has been spotted on the China Telecom certification website revealing its key specifications, pricing, and more details.

OPPO Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition surfaces on China Telecom

The OPPO Find X7 Ultra Satellite Edition has a model number PHY120. This is the same as the 3C certification listing which revealed support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The latest China Telecom listing confirms the moniker of the new Find X7-series device.

As the name suggests, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition will come with satellite connectivity technology that is already found on the iPhone 14 series, iPhone 15 series, and Huawei Mate 50. The feature is quite useful as it allows users to send emergency message alerts in places where there is no cellular network or WiFi coverage.

Apart from he addition of the Satellite Connectivity, the upcoming variant of the OPPO Find X7 Ultra will pack the same specifications as the standard Ultra model. The China Telecom listing reveals that the device will have the same design with a circular camera module housing four 50MP sensors out of which two will be periscope lenses. The front has a curved display measuring 6.82 inches and bearing a resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels. The upcoming offering will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit. Other details like processor are not mentioned but it is expected to be the same as Find X7 Ultra.
