Last week, Amazon India began teasing on the arrival of the upcoming OPPO K3 smartphone. The smartphone was unveiled in China in May will be coming to India to replace the OPPO K1 smartphone. Fresh information shared by 91mobiles revels that the OPPO K3 will go official in the third week of this month.

Citing information received from retail sources, the publication has revealed that the OPPO K3 will be launching on July 19 in India. Unfortunately, the leak has no details on the specs and pricing of the OPPO K3.  The specs of the phone are no secret since it has ben already announced in China.

OPPO K3 Specifications

The OPPO K3 features a 6.5-inch AMOLED display. The predecessor model had featured 6.4-inch AMOLED screen. OPPO India has now slashed the prices of its three recently released smartphones such as OPPO F11 Pro, OPPO K1 and OPPO A5. In February, OPPO had launched the OPPO K1 smartphone with a price tag of Rs. 16,990 (~$244) in India. The Chinese manufacturer has now slashed the price of the phone by Rs. 2,000 (~$29). The smartphone is now available for purchase on Flipkart with a revised price tag of Rs. 14,990 (~$215). By this it becomes the cheapest smartphone available in the Indian market with in-display fingerprint sensor. The OPPO F11 Pro has received a price cut of Rs. 2,000 (~$29) for its 64 GB variant. The Chinese manufacturer has also slashed the price of OPPO A5 by Rs. 1,000 (~$15).

OPPO K1

The OPPO K1 that comes with a glass rear with gradient finish features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with Dewdrop notch. It carries support for full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

The front notch of the phone houses a selfie camera of 25-megapixel. On its rear is a dual-LED flash dual camera setup that includes a primary sensor of 16-megapixel and a secondary lens of 2-megapixel. The ColorOS 5.2 based Android 8.1 Oreo OS comes preloaded on the device.

It is not just a classic IPS panel with the Full HD+ resolution, but it has the HDR10 technology for better color reproduction, something that you can rarely find on devices with such an affordable price. It is a compact display, smaller than most of the actual midrange devices, so it is also easy to use with one hand. The second place goes to the AMOLED panel found on the Oppo K1, that also integrates an in-display fingerprint reader. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has just an average IPS panel just like most of the midrange phones, so it is nothing special.

If you are looking for the phone with the best performance you should choose either the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 or the Oppo K1. I would choose the first because Oppo K1 lacks a micro SD slot to expand the internal storage. It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset that is one of the best midrange SoCs out there. And it also comes with up to 6 GB of RAM, just like the Oppo K1. Nokia 7.1 is inferior due to its lower-end Snapdragon 636, but unlike its opponents, it comes with Android One instead of a customized user interface, so it is still very smooth and reliable.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is equipped with an impressive sensor on the rear and it wins the camera comparison. Right after the Redmi Note 7, we want to award the Oppo K1 for its outstanding 25 MP selfie camera. Oppo unveiled its new K1 today and it carries one of the most convenient price tags ever seen in its line-up. Design

The design and the build quality are not the strongest points of Xiaomi Mi A2 and Oppo Realme 2 Pro. While the first is a classic metal unibody phone and its bezels are not very narrow, the second is beautiful but it is made of plastic. On the other hand, Oppo K1 is an outstanding device when it comes to aesthetics. It boasts an amazing glass back available in gradient colors as well as very narrow bezels on the front side, and a waterdrop notch. It definitely wins the design comparison.

Display

Oppo K1 is the absolute winner even when it comes to the display. It is equipped with a wide 6.4-inch panel providing vivid and brilliant color thanks to the Super AMOLED technology. It is a display made by Samsung and it is even superior to some actual flagships. However, note that Xiaomi Mi A2 has the only notchless panel in this trio, so if you do not like that thing on the upper part of the display, it may be interesting for you.

Specs & Software

Given that they come with the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset under the hood, all of these devices provide good performance in every scenario, even though they are not flagships. The winner among these ones is Oppo Realme 2 Pro for a simple reason: its most expensive variant comes with 8 GB of RAM, while its opponents have max 6 GB of RAM. While Realme 2 Pro and Oppo K1 have the customized UI Color OS installed, Xiaomi Mi A2 has a stock operating system with Android One, but it will get faster updates.

Camera

On the rear side, Xiaomi Mi A2 has the dual camera with the most convincing performance. It is composed of two sensors, both with a bright f/1.8 aperture, and very nice resolutions. Oppo K1 wins when it comes to the front camera thanks to its very nice 25 MP snapper backed by AI.

Battery

The presence of a relatively small battery is the main weak point of the Xiaomi Mi A2 which has just an average battery life and cannot reach its opponents. Oppo Realme 2 Pro and Oppo K1 have the same capacity, but the latter should last more as it has a display with a lower energy consumption as it is a Super AMOLED panel.

Price

Oppo K1 just debuted in China with a price tag of about €200 in its base variant, Oppo Realme 2 Pro starts from just €165 and Xiaomi Mi A2 was launched with a listing price of about €220. I would personally pick Oppo K1 due to its impressive aesthetics and its bigger battery.

OPPO has officially launched its latest mid-range smartphone in China. The OPPO K1 is one hell of a premium mid-range beast in terms of the design and even the specifications don’t disappoint. The K1 is already available for pre-order in China with the price starting at 1,599 Yuan (approx. $231).

OPPO K1 comes with the gradually trending water drop notch at the top of the display. This ensures the bezels around the display are at their thinnest. We must note that the K1’s front design is the same with that of the OPPO R17 that was launched a couple of months back. The rear design is, however, different from the R17. The K1 still packs a dual rear camera setup but unlike the R17, its camera is located at the top left corner arranged in a horizontal alignment. The premium mid-ranger doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor at the back instead, it packs an on-screen fingerprint sensor. This makes OPPO K1 one of the few mid-range phones with the emerging fingerprint recognition technology. 

Talking about the specs, OPPO K1 packs a humongous 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top and offers a high 91% screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 premium mid-range chipset. The SD660 chipset has got a worthy successor in the Snapdragon 710 but it still is a powerful midrange chipset. The processor teams up with 4GB of RAM on the base model and 6GB of RAM on the higher variant. Both variants come with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded.

For photography, the OPPO K1 packs a 25MP selfie shooter which sits at the water drop notch. At the rear, the dual camera set up is a 16MP+2MP combo. The camera comes with artificial intelligence (AI) which enhances the photographic experience. The camera samples shot using the K1’s rear cameras look pretty impressive. Providing the interface is the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 that brings several cool features to the model. The device gets its juice from a 3,500mAh battery with OPPO’s Super VOOC fast charging technology.

As for the prices, the OPPO K1 is available for 1599 yuan ($231) for the 4GB+64GB variant and 1,799 yuan ($259) for the 6GB+64GB. The device comes in Van Gogh Blue and Mocha Red and will start shipping on October 19. Oppo will be launching its latest smartphone today in China, named Oppo K1. Ahead of the phone’s official launch, the company has started taking pre-orders for the device, which will being shipping on 19th October.

The Oppo K1 will be available in two color options — Van Gogh Blue and Mocha Red. It’ll be available in two variants — 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. As for the pricing, the 4GB RAM model costs 1,599 Yuan (approx. $231) while the 6GB RAM model is priced at 1,799 Yuan (approximately $260).

In terms of the specifications, the phone comes with 6.4-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display having a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and Gorilla Glass protection on top. To offer a higher screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent, it features a waterdrop notch on top of the display to house front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the Oppo K1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, which is the same chipset that powers the likes of Nokia 7 Plus and Vivo V11 Pro. Both the models — 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM — comes with 64GB of internal storage.

Coming to the camera department, the device features a 25-megapixel front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video calling. On the back side, the phone comes with a dual camera setup, consisting of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. OPPO had recently confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Oct. 10. However, it hadn’t confirmed on the name of the device that will be announced later this week. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has officially confirmed that it will be debuting the OPPO K1 smartphone on Oct. 10. The launch posters have confirmed some of the features and price range of the smartphone.

The launch posters of the OPPO K1 reveal that it will be featuring a waterdrop notch display. The bottom portion of the display will be embedded with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The second poster reveals that the handset will be priced between 1,000 Yuan (~$145) and 1,999 Yuan (~$289). The launch event will begin at 10 AM on the said date in China. The entire specifications of the OPPO K1 have surfaced through TENAA certification earlier this month.

According to TENAA, the handset will be equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The display will offer Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. A leaked image of the phone had surfaced yesterday to reveal its front design.

The handset was recently spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 660. The 4 GB RAM variant of the smartphone may feature 128 GB of storage whereas its 6 GB RAM edition may include 64 GB of storage.

The waterdrop notch of the OPPO K1 is expected to house a 25-megapixel selfie camera. The rear shell of the phone may feature 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup. The handset is expected to arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It may receive power from 3,500mAh battery. The handset is expected to arrive in color gradient variants such red-blue, silver-green and blue-black. The images of the phone that have surfaced through its TENAA listing have suggested that it may sport a glass rear. The thickness of the OPPO K1 is only 7.4mm and it weighs 156 grams.

A photo showing a phone said to be the OPPO K1 has surfaced online. The image shows the front of the phone and gives us a look at its design.

The OPPO K1 in the image is inside a case. This is not your typical case but the type used by manufacturers ahead of a phone’s official release. The phone is pretty big, 6.4-inches according to TENAA. The image also confirms it has a water-drop notch. We already knew this based on its screen resolution (2340 x 1080) which is similar to that of the OPPO F9.

The side bezels are pretty thin and the chin is quite small when compared to what we have seen on some other phones such as the newly launched Nokia 7.1. The display is actually AMOLED and based on the TENAA images of the rear side of the phone, the fingerprint scanner is under the display.

A few weeks ago, a trio of OPPO phones with a gradient design and an in-display fingerprint scanner were seen on TENAA. Subsequent reports said the three phones are variants of a new phone that would launch as the OPPO K1. One of the phones has been seen on Geekbench and the benchmark site has revealed a few of its specs.

The OPPO PBCM30 was benchmarked yesterday. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor (sdm660). It also has 6GB of RAM. Its benchmark scores are given as 1436 and 5467 for the single core and multi-core tests respectively.

According to TENAA, the OPPO K1 will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution. On the back of the device is a 16MP+2MP dual camera combo while a 25MP sensor is in front for selfies. The phone will also pack a 3,500mAh battery.

OPPO has a launch scheduled for October 10, there is a chance it will unveil the OPPO K1 on that day.

OPPO has released a new poster to confirm that it will be holding a launch event on Oct. 10 to announce a new smartphone. The company did not confirm on the name of the smartphone that will be unveiled on the said date. It is speculated that the OPPO PBCM10, PBCT10 and PBCM30 phones that were recently certified by TENAA authority in China may get announced in the next month’s unveil event. Rumors are rife that OPPO is prepping to launch a new K-series of smartphones. Hence, it is speculated that the OPPO K1 will be the name of the smartphone that will be debuting in the coming month.

The OPPO event will begin at 10:00 AM on Oct. 10 The TENAA listings of the aforementioned smartphones have revealed that these phones will be equipped with waterdrop notch screen along with glass rear with blue-pink gradient color.

The PBCM10 and PBCT10 models feature 4 GB of RAM along with inbuilt storage of 128 GB. The PBCM30 model has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. These models are driven by 1.95GHz octa-core processor.

These phones are equipped with 6.4-inch AMOLED screen that produces Full HD+ resolution. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is not visible on any of the three smartphones. The reason behind it is that they are blessed with under-display fingerprint scanner.

For photography, these phones feature 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup and a 25-megapixel selfie camera. They are packed with 3,500mAh batteries and are loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

There is no concrete evidence to prove that the above models are variants of the rumored OPPO K1 phone. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm on its existence.
