AnTuTu’s November list for best performing flagship phones released

AnTuTu has rolled out its list for the best performing flagship for November 2021. The entire list is populated with Snapdragon 888 Plus and Snapdragon 888 powered smartphones. Topping the chart is the Black Shark 4S Pro for the second month in a row with a benchmarking score of 875,382. Second one on the listing is the Nubia RedMagic 6S Pro with 852,719 scores. The third one on the list is the iQOO 8 Pro is placed third with a score of 846,663.

The top three phones are powered by the Snapdragon 888 Plus mobile platform. The next three phones on the list are Black Shark 4 Pro, which features the Snapdragon 888, followed by the Vivo X70 Pro+ with Snapdragon 888 Plus, and the ASUS ROG Phone 5s with the Snapdragon 888 Plus.

The remaining four phones on the list are powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth spots are occupied by iQOO 8, Lenovo Legion Duel 2 Pro, OPPO Find X3 Pro, and Realme GT 5G.

The top 10 list of best forming high-end phones have Snapdragon 778G powered phones occupying the top 6 places. These include iQOO Z5 with 566,438 scores, OPPO K9s 5G with 536,265 scores, and Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G with 534,739 scores, Xiaomi Civi, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50.

A few days ago, OPPO launched its latest K-series smartphone in China — OPPO K9s 5G as the third model in the series after the launch of K9 and K9 Pro. Today, the smartphone officially goes on sale in China.

The OPPO K9s comes in two memory variants — 6GB RAM + 128GB storage that costs 1,499 yuan (approximately $234) and 8GB RAM + 128GB which is priced at 1,699 yuan which is around $265. It comes in three color options — Obsidian Samurai, Neon Silver Sea, and Magic Purple Quicksand.

The smartphone features a 6.59-inch TFT LCD Full HD+ display with 1080 x 2412 pixels screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 16.7 million colors, 401ppi pixel density, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. It supports a 6% NTSC color gamut, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 600 nits peak brightness, and Panda Yiqiang Glass protection.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, coupled with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. It uses multi-dimensional composite liquid cooling, 7 kinds of high thermal conductivity materials to lower the CPU core temperature by 15 degrees.

The device also comes with a HyperBoost game acceleration engine. It is equipped with X-axis linear motor, made in cooperation with keyboard manufacturer Du Jia to bring vibration simulation function to the built-in touch keyboard. It offers three different lighting effects, four types of skins, and six kinds of shaft feel.

In the camera department, the smartphone features a triple-camera setup on the back that includes a 64-megapixel wide-angle primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front side, the device features a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The handset features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for added protection. It is running the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own ColorOS 11.2 custom user interface on top. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and comes with support for 30W VOOC fast charging technology which is claimed to charge the phone up to 59 percent in 30 minutes.

After teasing for days, OPPO has finally launched the OPPO K9s in China. It is the third model in the OPPO K9 series of smartphones after OPPO K9 and OPPO K9 Pro. Interestingly, this phone appears to be a tweaked version of realme Q3s that went official yesterday.

OPPO K9s Specifications and Features

The newly unveiled OPPO K9s is almost identical to the realme Q3s in terms of both design and features. The two devices only differ in display size, screen refresh rate, rear camera setup, and software departments.

Talking about the dissimilarities first, the K9s sports a 6.59-inch TFT LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Q3s includes a 6.6-inch TFT LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. The former has a 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) triple camera setup as opposed to a 48MP (wide) + 2MP (monochrome) + 2MP (macro) triple camera array on the latter.

The final difference is software. The OPPO handset runs ColorOS 11.2 baked on Android 11, whereas the realme phone boots Android 11-based realme UI 2.0, which is a clone of ColorOS 11.

Coming to common features, the OPPO K9s flaunts an FHD+ (1080 x 2412 pixels) display with 16.7 million colors, 401 PPI, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. The panel has a punch-hole at the top left corner, 96% NTSC color gamut, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 600 nits peak brightness, and Panda Yiqiang Glass protection.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The handset gets its juice from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

As far as connectivity is concerned, it comes with dual-SIM card slots, 5G, dual-band WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS), USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other features of the smartphone include a 16MP selfie camera, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass, liquid cooling system, x-axis linear motor, and virtual mechanical keyboard.

Last but not least, the OPPO K9s measures around 164.43 x 75.88 x 8.52mm in dimensions, weighs 199g, and arrives in the following three color options.

The OPPO K9s is priced at ¥1,699 ($266) and ¥1,899 ($297) for the 6GB + 128GB and the 8GB + 128GB memory configurations respectively in China. However, for a limited time, both variants will be discounted by ¥200 ($31). Hence, their price comes down to ¥1,499 ($235) and ¥1,699 ($266).

On Wednesday, OPPO will be unleashing the OPPO K9s smartphone in China. After the OPPO K9 and OPPO K9 Prov, the K9s will be the third K-series phone to arrive in the home market. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese manufacturer has released a promo video to showcase the design of the OPPO K9s.

The promo video gives a good look at the Magic Purple Quicksand and Obsidian Warrior color editions of the OPPO K9s. The reservations listing of the phone, which appeared last week, revealed that it will also come in Neon Silver Sea hue.

OPPO dropped some new teaser images for their upcoming OPPO K9s phone, revealing a couple of new stuff including the usage of an X-axis linear motor and a virtual mechanical keyboard.

An X-axis linear haptics motor is superior compared to Z-axis and older rotor motors in that it’s capable of producing vibrations that are crisper and can be adapted to dozens of scenarios. The new motor is flagship-level and will be shipped with an OPPO K series model for the very first time with K9s.

Further, the teaser images revealed that OPPO is cooperating with keyboard manufacturer Dujia to bring a vibration simulation function to the built-in virtual keyboard app of the K9s. The keyboard will support 3 kinds of lighting effects, 4 different skins, and 6 kinds of shaft feel. Of course, the X-axis motor will be put to good use here in replicating vibration sensations, not unlike the ones found on actual mechanical keyboards.

The OPPO K9s will also be using the motor to produce in-game 4D vibrations for a more immersive mobile gaming experience.

The phone is expected to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip, be powered by a 5000mAh high-capacity battery, and support 30W VOOC flash charging. It has an LTPS panel with a 6.59-inch size that produces an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels. It will come preinstalled with Android 11 OS.
