Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer which has also found a place in the world’s top five smartphone brands, has now expanded its operations to Japan. The company has forayed in the Japanese market with the launch of its flagship phone — Oppo R11s.

Apart from Japan, the China-based company is also looking to expand its global footprints. For that, Oppo is planning to roll out operations in the Europen market.

According to Deng Yuchen, chief of Japanese operations for Oppo, the company is currently in discussions with NTT Docomo Inc, KDDI Corp, and SoftBank Group Corp for its portfolio. He further adds that the company is making progress with two of those network operators. The Chinese phone maker is also in talks with MVNOs such as Y!mobile and Rakuten Mobile.

Commenting on expanding the Oppo brand to Japan, Deng Yuchen said:

Operating in such a demanding market can enhance our own strength and serve as valuable experience for us to tackle untapped European and US markets in the future. Success in the Japanese market will be an endorsement for our brand.

In a recent interview, Deng Yuchen has revealed that the company is planning to hire around 700 to 800 employees in Japan in the next two years for engineering, marketing, and sales positions. There’s a possibility that Oppo may also open a retail flagship store in Tokyo in the future.

Oppo, which was founded in 2004, is one the leading smartphone brand in China and currently sells its devices in about 30 markets, including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Indonesia, among others.

The Oppo R11s, with which the company is foraying in the Japan market, features a 6.01-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 660 processor.

In Japan, the phone will be offered with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Recently, the company had launched the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB onboard storage, but the 6GB RAM model remains China-exclusive.

Coming to the camera department, the rear camera features a combination of a 20-megapixel camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 16-megapixel camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture. On the front side, there is a 20-megapixel camera sensor which comes with Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that support more than 200 facial enhancements, scene detection, and portrait mode.

The phone is running Color OS 3.2 and comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. Oppo has recently rolled out Android 8.1 Oreo update to the device in China. The Oppo R11s is fueled by a 3,205mAh battery, which supports company’s own VOOC fast charging technology.

Today, China-based smartphone manufacturer Oppo has quietly launched a new variant of its flagship Oppo R11S smartphone. The new variant of the smartphone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, the phone will be available in only one colour – Champagne Gold.

The 6GB RAM model of the Oppo R11S is priced at 3,599 Yuan (approx. $545), which is 600 Yuan (approx. $91) more than the standard variant, which is priced at 2,999 Yuan (approx. $454).

Unlike this 6GB RAM model, the standard variant of the smartphone is available in three colour options — Black and Champagne (Gold) and Red. The Oppo R11S was originally launched in October this year, along with the Oppo R11S Plus.

The smartphone comes with a 6.01-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 660 processor.

With the launch of this new variant, the smartphone is now available in two models — one with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and another one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Oppo recently announced two new smartphones — Oppo R11s and R11s Plus, which will go on sale from November 10. The smartphones are basically an upgraded version of recently released Oppo R11 and R11 Plus that was launched in June this year.

The company has started taking pre-orders of the smartphone and has managed to cross the registration for pre-orders to over 300,000 within just 24 hours. Oppo started taking pre-orders for the smartphone shortly after announcing it.

Currently, the online retailer JD.com is showing that the registrations have crossed the mark of 381,000. The shipments for the phone will being from November 10 and given the fact that there is still about one week left, it won’t be surprising if the registration numbers for the Oppo R11s crosses the 1 million mark.

The Oppo R11s and R11s Plus were announced a couple of days ago, featuring a bezel-less design and comes with improved camera performance. The R11s has a 6.01-inch FHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 85.8% screen to body ratio.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. On the rear, there is a dual camera setup, having one 16MP and another 20MP cameras with f/1.7 apertures, 2.0µm pixels and dual-LED flash.

On the front, it has a 20MP camera which comes with the company’s A.I. Beauty Recognition feature. The smartphone packs a 3,205mAh battery with support for VOOC fast charging technology. It runs on the new Color OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS.

The OPPO R11s will be available in two color options — Black and Champagne Gold and is priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$455). A special Red colored variant is priced a bit higher at 3,199 Yuan (~$485) .

After the series of hypes and promotional campaigns, OPPO took the wraps off the R11s and R11s Plus yesterday. Both models are equipped with the same design but only differ in their display sizes. The device is available in Black and Champagne colours but there will be a Special Red variant which will sell at a higher price and would be limited in quantity. We’ve got some couple of hands-on photos of the R11s special Red variant courtesy of Ithomes and honestly, the R11s is a beauty.

The device keeps up with the latest trendy full-screen (18:9) display which have replaced the traditional 16:9 displays and given the phones a new look. There also are some slight tweaking of the camera and battery aspects but it just a tad different from the R11 and R11 Plus in these aspects. The device also doesn’t pack a front fingerprint sensor as a result of the reduced bezels.

The OPPO R11s also features a dual camera setup at the rear with LED flash on the right while the fingerprint sensor is situated in the middle. The device uses the U-shaped fused antenna band design as a result of its metallic rear casing but the antenna lines are not double-lines but a single thick line on both edges. OPPO is also shipping the device with a 3.5mm headset, as well as a protective case for the phone. We can’t say if the other colour variants have the same composition inside their packaging box. On the whole, the R11s is a real beauty that hardly has any flaws on the design, perhaps Linus would find one during his in-depth review of the model. Expect that here on Gizmochina soon.

The OPPO R11s is now live on the official site. Some details are still missing though since the launch is still about a week away.

OPPO has highlighted a few features of the new phone such as the new immersive 18:9 display, improved 20MP primary rear camera, and AI camera software. More details will be revealed on the 30th and 31st of October.

OPPO is also running a competition where you have to guess the correct price of the OPPO R11s. The selected winner will go home with a drone. The competition runs from the 26th of October to the 1st of November.

There is also an early registration page for those looking forward to purchasing a unit. The page confirms that the OPPO R11s will come in red, black, and champagne gold and will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The OPPO R11s won’t launch until November 2 but there seem to be little or no unknown specification anymore. The device already showed up on AnTuTu, got certified on 3CC and had its camera specs revealed too. Today, official renders have leaked giving us an early look at the design as well as providing new details.

The OPPO R11s images were posted on Weibo and reveal that the phone will be available in red with black/red bezels, gold with white bezels, and black with black bezels.

The bezels are significantly smaller and provide an explanation as to why the fingerprint scanner can’t sit below the display. Instead, it is now at the back of the phone, positioned where the  forefinger naturally rests. The top bezel still houses the front camera and earpiece while the lower bezel is bare.

The top of the phone and bottom have been redesigned. It now has a recess where the secondary microphone sits at the top, and the speaker grille, micro USB port, primary mic and audio jack are housed at the bottom.

There is no significant change on the back save for the addition of a fingerprint scanner. The dual cameras are still at the top left corner and there is a LED flash flanking it on the right. Volume rocker is also still on the left side while SIM tray and power button sit on the right.

Oppo is all set to launch its latest smartphone — Oppo R11S in a launch event on November 2. However, ahead of the official unveiling, the company has revealed the camera specifications of the device.

On a microblogging website, Oppo has posted an image which confirms that the smartphone will come with a dual camera setup at the back. It also reveals that the camera will have a combination of a 20-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel sensor, with both lenses having an aperture of f/1.7.

The phone will also have a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The company has suggested that the phone’s camera will have an intelligent identification system which can help take natural photos during daytime and clearer low-light photos.

Oppo has already revealed that the phone will sport a 6.01-inch display that will feel like a 5.5-inch screen due to the narrow body structure, thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio. The display will have a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

It will have a full-screen design with a new technology called “Star Screen”. Other than the display and camera, most of the specs are expected to be same as Oppo R11.

Oppo R11S’s four variants were recently seen on the Chinese Compulsory Certification website which revealed that it will have 5V 4A fast charging — the company’s proprietary VOOC fast charging technology. It is expected to pack 4,000mAh battery.

Chinese phone maker OPPO has officially teased the front view of its upcoming smartphone. The OPPO R11s has all along been tipped to come with a full-screen design and that has featured in several unconfirmed leaks. A Weibo post by AnTuTu recently showed the R11s as having a 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and this is the closest we have got to a genuine confirmation of the screen ratio. Well, until now as OPPO has now revealed that the R11s will come with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio.

The teaser poster also contains the renders of the device showing the front view and indeed, it is a full-screen design. No, this isn’t a bezel-less smartphone but is the first OPPO model that would offer something close to a bezel-less design.The device features ultra-thin bezels at the chin. The bezels at the top and bottom edges are also well reduced with space just enough to house the front speakers and selfie camera. In addition, looks like the screen will have a curved edge design.

OPPO R11s is expected to be the next smartphone offering from OPPO and the frequency at which we see various promotional teasers indicates that its launch is imminent. The R11s is the successor to the midrange OPPO R11 released earlier this year. Part of the rumours bordering on the R11s include that it would utilise a full-screen design and several renders and real images have leaked in that regard. The key specifications of the OPPO R11s have now been revealed via a listing on AnTuTu’s Weibo page. The main highlight of the listed specs is the presence of a 2160 x 1080 pixels display which means the device will come with a full-screen design and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The R11s has featured in a couple of promotional teasers lately showing the design of its rear aspect that is no different from that of the R11. The front design is still elusive but as stated earlier, several leaked photos show the design would be a full-screen design. We now know that is likely going to happen. Other specs details revealed by AnTuTu includes the presence of  Snapdragon 660 mid-range processor which debunks claims of an earlier GeekBench appearance with the R11 packing a Snapdragon 835 chip. The OPPO R11 (and R11 Plus) was launched in June. Four months later, teasers of a successor have been seen gracing major landmarks in the city. The adverts tease a number of features of the successor called the OPPO R11S.

The OPPO R11S adverts can be seen at nine different locations around the city and tease features that roughly translate to “a better use of full screen”, “faster ColorOS”, “ 20MP dual cameras”, “clearer portrait” and “better night pictures” to name a few.

Four variants of the OPPO R11S were seen on the Chinese Compulsory Certification website last week. The certification site mentioned that it will have 5V 4A fast charging which is the proprietary VOOC fast charging technology.

The R11S is expected to launch with a full-screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will still have dual rear cameras but the fingerprint scanner will now keep the senors company at the back. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor and will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The R11S will also have a bigger variant that will launch as the OPPO R11 Plus. It will have 6GB of RAM and its battery will be bumped up from the 3,200mAh of the R11S to 4,000mAh.

The official date for the launch has not been revealed yet but it should be close seeing as OPPO is already teasing the device. OPPO also has another full-screen smartphone, the F5 which is set to launch in the Philippines on the 26th of October.
