Oppo has been updating its devices to ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 for weeks now. But it is yet to roll out updates in all the regions. Two weeks back, the Chinese smartphone maker updated some of its handsets like Reno 2, Reno Z, F11 series, and others in some global markets. Now, today, the official Twitter account of ColorOS shared update timeline for 17 smartphones sold in countries across Europe and Australia.

Oppo announced ColorOS 7 in November last year but sadly, most users have not received the update for the same yet. Now today, ColorOS official account on Weibo has shared the ColorOS 7 stable update timeline for the second batch of eligible devices in China

Last year in November, Oppo officially unveiled its ColorOS 7 custom user interface and the company has already started rolling out beta update of the same to some of its devices. Recently, the company released a schedule for early adopters beta update rollout for its smartphones in China.

While the Oppo R17 and R17 New Year Editions received the update on 13th January, the R17 Pro, R17 Pro New Year Edition and R17 King Custom Edition will be receiving the new update today.

Along with that, the company has announced that the Oppo Find X is also receiving the update. Do note that the early adopters update for the R17 Pro series and the Find X series is available for the first 2,000 users each.

To become a part of this program and receive the new beta update, you just need to go to Settings menu on your smartphone and head over to the “Software Update” section. There, click on the settings icon in the top-right corner and tap on “Upgrade Early Adopters”.

ColorOS 7 is based on Oppo’s Infinite Design concept that has its core philosophy in lightweight visuals for a clean and user-friendly interface. In December last year, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo had launched its flagship smartphone, Oppo R17 Pro, in the Indian market for a price of Rs. 45,990 (approximately $648). Now, the company has slashed the phone’s pricing by Rs. 6,000 (approximately $85).

With this price cut, the Oppo R17 Pro is now available for purchase in India for a price of Rs. 39,990 (approximately $564). The phone’s new pricing is applicable for purchases through online stores as well as offline stores. The Oppo R17 Pro is available in India in two color options — Radiant Mist and Emerald Green.

The glass-bodied smartphone features a metallic frame around its edges and comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display having a waterdrop notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is also equipped with an under-screen fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, the Oppo R17 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset along with 8 GB of RAM. The native storage of the phone is 128GB and also has a microSD card slot for additional storage.

In the camera department, the phone comes with a triple camera module on the back, arranged vertically. It features a 12-megapixel main sensor with variable aperture ranging from f/1.5 to f/2.4 and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.6 aperture. The third sensor is a ToF (Time of Flight) camera that can be used to accurately map objects at up to 3 meters. On the front side, it comes with a 25-megapixel ultrawide camera.

As we previously reported, Oppo has today officially launched a new variant of its Oppo R17 Pro flagship smartphone — Oppo R17 Pro King Custom Edition. The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and is now available for purchase in China for a price of 4,299 Yuan, roughly $626.

This new Oppo R17 Pro King Custom Edition comes in a green colored hue and has a “King of Glory” branding towards the bottom area on the back panel. Additionally, there’s also a custom “King of Glory” icon placed on top of the camera module in the top-center position.

In what seems to have become an annual tradition that started with the OPPO R9s, OPPO has announced it will unveil a New Year’s edition of the OPPO R17 duo on December 17.

The New Year Edition models of the R-series are known for their red color and the poster for the launch hints at that being the case for the OPPO R17 and OPPO R17 Pro too. The specs will remain the same as that of the regular variants but the packaging should be different.

The event will begin at 1800 hrs and hold in Shanghai. OPPO has already opened registration for those interested in picking up either phones this holiday.

Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy A8s, its first smartphone with a punch hole inside the display. Thanks to this solution, Samsung managed to realize a full borderless design without a notch. The company decided to include an in-display hole in an upper midrange phone, a perfect competitor of devices such as Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Oppo R17 Pro (or RX17 Pro for the European market). Given that these wonderful handsets share a similar price tag, here is a comparison between them.

Design

Given its cutout in the display, Samsung Galaxy A8s has the most futuristic design as it does not need a notch in order to achieve one of the highest screen-to-body ratios (almost 85 percent). But note that it does not integrate an in-display fingerprint reader and it is rear-mounted, so the rear side of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro looks cleaner and more beautiful, also thanks to its gradient colors. But it has a too big notch (unlike Oppo R17 Pro) because it integrates a 3D facial recognition system based on an infrared sensor. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A8s is the thinnest and most lightweight device.

Display

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has the most awesome display because it boasts a better color reproduction. Not only it comes with the Super AMOLED technology, but also with DCI-P3 coverage, and it is HDR10 compliant. At the second place, there is Oppo R17 Pro with its AMOLED screen that is also protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6. Samsung Galaxy A8s is the only phone from the Galaxy A-series to feature an IPS display manufactured by BOE instead of a Samsung’s AMOLED panel, and it is a classic midrange display which offers nothing impressive.

Specs & Software

Talking about hardware and performance, there is no challenge, Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro is the winner. It boasts the most impressive hardware side thanks to the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 which is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The rest of the trio is powered by the Snapdragon 710, a very nice chipset, the best Qualcomm’s SoC if we exclude the whole 800 series. But it remains a midrange-class SoC. Between Samsung Galaxy A8s and Oppo R17 Pro, when it comes to hardware and software, I would pick Samsung Galaxy A8s because it comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Camera

Even though they are not among the most expensive phones, all of these devices feature impressive cameras. Oppo R17 Pro is even very innovative because it has a triple camera with a variable aperture in order to adapt better to every light condition. In order to establish which is the best camera phone, we have to test Galaxy A8s personally but this is still not possible because it has just been announced. On the paper, Oppo R17 Pro seems the most satisfying one.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has a much smaller and just sufficient battery with its 3000 mAh capacity, so it is excluded from this comparison. Oppo R17 Pro has the biggest one and, even if we still did not test Samsung Galaxy A8s, we believe this may be the most satisfying devices when it comes to battery, not only for the time it lasts (a working day even with intensive uses), but also because it is the world’s fastest charging last-gen smartphone.

Price

We still do not know the listing price of Samsung Galaxy A8s, but we will know it soon because it will be launched soon (more info at the link below). Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Oppo R17 Pro are available with starting price tags of about €500 and €600. Oppo R17 Pro looks the most convincing device and I would personally pick it because of its good display, big and fast-charging battery, and its excellent cameras. I would not choose Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro because of its smaller battery.

Almost every major mobile manufacturer has its fast-charging technology like Vivo has its own tech, OnePlus has Dash Charging and Oppo is equipped with Super Vooc charging. Today, in a charging test, Oppo R17 Pro stood first against 59 mobiles and managed to get 92% charge in just 30 minutes.

As most of the fast chargings tend to charge much faster in the first half an hour, so, the source has stacked up 59 different devices to know which devices offer the fastest charging. It also helped to know which manufacturer tends to give the support for most rapid charging in terms of speed and safety.

After the test completes, Oppo R17 Pro reached 92% mark which is the highest to charge up its 3700 mAh battery with SuperVOOC flash charging of 50 W. The second runner-up is the Honor Magic 2 with 83% of battery charge in just 30 minutes. It is equipped with a 3500 mAh battery with 40W of fast charging.

At the third and fourth position, Meizu Pro 7 Plus and Oppo R11 have stood with 66%. While Meizu Pro 7 is ahead with 3500 mAh battery fast charging power of 20W and Oppo R11 has managed to charge 3000 mAh battery at 20W.

In the following places, devices like Vivo X21, Charm Blue S6, OnePlus 5T, Nut Pro 2, Huawei Mate 10, etc took place. Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 is the only device from Xiaomi which managed to gain the 15th position with 56% charge. While Apple has maintained to charge 40% with iPad charging head.

Overall, Chinese manufacturers are way ahead in providing the fastest charging solutions. Most of the top 10 spots are acquired by these manufacturers. While Oppo’s Super Vooc charging has managed to stand first in charging the device.

It’s a healthy competition from most of the manufacturers, and we expect more inventions in the coming years.

OPPO India has already confirmed that the flagship OPPO R17 Pro will officially make its entry into India on December 4. The company has now released further details of the R17 Pro’s launch itinerary which includes that the device will be up for preorder from December 1, days before its official launch.

The R17 Pro was first launched in China around July and later made its entry into Europe on October 24 as OPPO RX17 Pro. Apparently, the device will bear the R17 Pro moniker when its sojourn in India commences.

As a reminder, the OPPO R17 Pro houses a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The large-sized display of the phone offers a screen-to-body ratio of a whopping 91.5%. Its display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. OPPO has embedded a fingerprint reader under the screen of the smartphone. The R17 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The handset features an internal storage of 128 GB. The second SIM slot can be used for adding a microSD card. It is worthy to note that the device will be the first Super VOOC smartphone in India. As for the price, the phone was initially introduced for CNY4,299 or $625 in China and in Europe, it is available for €599. The price may likely be slightly lower in India.

Further, it has a very optimized Android fork called Oxygen OS and it comes with Android Pie out of the box. Oppo R17 Pro takes the second place with its Snapdragon 710 and Color OS, while Vivo X23 has a slightly less powerful Snapdragon 670.

Camera

Oppo R17 Pro wins the camera comparison. It has a triple rear camera with variable focal apertures in order to adapt to every light condition, as well as OIS and a 3D stereo camera to capture depth information. Even its front camera is better than the ones of its opponents with a higher 25 MP resolution and an ultrawide lens.

Battery

OnePlus 6T and Oppo R17 Pro both have a 3700 mAh battery, but OnePlus 6T lasts slightly more and it is optimized better, probably thanks to Android Pie. It is able to arrive at the end of the working day with 30-35 percent of remaining charge, while Oppo R17 Pro has just 25 percent. Vivo X23 has a smaller 3400 mAh unit which is more than sufficient but far from achieving OnePlus 6T and Oppo R17 Pro’s results.

Price

Oppo R17 Pro and OnePlus 6T are available globally with starting price tags of €599 and €569, while Vivo X23 is only available in Asia and it costs about €500 there. Due to its smaller battery and its less powerful SoC I wouldn’t actually choose the Vivo X23, but, even though it has not a Snapdragon 845 (SD710 is enough for every scenario), I would personally pick the Oppo R17 Pro because of its better camera department and the micro SD slot.

Recently, OPPO had hinted that it will be launching its first ever R-series smartphone in India. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has sent out media invites for OPPO R17 Pro launch event that will be held in Mumbai, India on Dec. 4. The R17 Pro was announced alongside R17 smartphone in China in August. However, India will be receiving only the R17 Pro model.

The OPPO R17 Pro houses a 6.4-inch waterdrop notch enabled AMOLED screen. It supports 19.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The large-sized display of the phone offers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent. Its display is shielded by Gorilla Glass 6. OPPO has embedded a fingerprint reader under the screen of the smartphone.

The R17 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The handset features an internal storage of 128 GB. The second SIM slot can be used for adding a microSD card.

The rear shell of the R17 Pro features a dual camera setup followed by a TOF stereo camera. The vertical dual camera module includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 20-megapixel sensor with f/1.5 to f/2.5 variable aperture. A 25-megapixel selfie shooter is placed inside the notch of the phone. A 3,700mAh battery that carries support for 50W Super VOOC flash charging. It also includes support for NFC connectivity. The ColorOS 5.2 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo OS is preinstalled on the device.

The OPPO R17 Pro comes in colors like Stream Blue and Condensed Green. The pricing of the smartphone for the Indian market has not been confirmed. In China, the handset is available with a price tag of 4,299 Yuan (~$620, ~Rs. 43,800). The handset may carry a price similar to the OnePlus 6T phone. There is no information on the release date of the smartphone. However, its pre-orders are scheduled to begin on Dec. 1.

After launching Oppo F9 Pro and Oppo Find X flagship smartphones in India, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now all set to launch a new smartphone in India under its R-series.

Through a Twitter post, the company has teased the launch of a new smartphone in India under its R-series. In the tweet, the company writes: “Stay tuned! Something new is coming up. #OPPO R-Series.”

However, the company has not revealed which device it plans to launch in India and when. Going by the recent developments from Oppo, it seems that the company could launch Oppo R17 series phone, which also includes R17 Pro and R17 Neo.

As for the specifications, the Oppo R17 comes with a 6.4-inch waterdrop display and is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 670 processor. It comes in two RAM versions – 6GB and 8GB RAM, both pairing up with 128GB of internal storage.

It has a 21MP + 8MP dual cameras at the back and a 25MP front-facing camera. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 while a 3500mAh battery with support for VOOC fast charging keeps the lights on.

The R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch screen that offers an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, along with an under-display fingerprint scanner. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s a 12MP + 20MP camera at the back and a 25MP front-facing shooter. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with ColorOS, the device is powered by a 3,700mAh battery.

Oppo R17 Neo, on the other hand, features the same 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a notch and this one too is equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. However, instead of Snapdragon 710, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM. It features a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back and comes with a 25MP front-facing snapper. Running on Android Oreo-based ColorOS, the phone is powered by a 3,600mAh battery.

OPPO‘s SuperVOOC is one of the fastest fast-charging technology available in a phone. The charging technology supplies 50W (10V 5A) of power, allowing you charge supported devices from empty to 40% in just 10 minutes. Up until today, you could only use SuperVOOC with the bundled wall adapter. For those who are regularly on the go, OPPO has announced the first SuperVOOC power bank.

The new power bank was unveiled at a SuperVOOC event where OPPO also announced that it has partnered with The Pokémon Company to make the famous pokémon, Pikachu, the SuperVOOC brand mascot.

To mark the partnership, the OPPO announced a Pikachu-branded SuperVOOC power bank. The power bank has a battery capacity of 10000mAh. There is a single output port and a USB-C input port for charging. It also has four LED dots to indicate the battery level.

The SuperVOOC power bank uses a 3C battery which is combined with VFC fast charging algorithm for the SuperVOOC fast charging technology. The VFC charging algorithm is said to reduce the time taken during trickle charge. This increases the trickle charge speed by 200% which results in a 10% reduction in total charge time.

OPPO also announced Pikachu themed protective cases for the OPPO R17 Pro. The cases are priced at ¥199 (~$29) each while the power bank has a price tag of ¥349 (~$50). OPPO will ship the power bank and cases with Pikachu stickers and an NFC theme card. Scan the card and your phone’s theme should switch to a Pikachu one.

Last week, OPPO had announced is software acceleration engine called Hyper Boost for significantly improving the performance its smartphones. Hyper Boost is all about optimizing the device’s performance in three areas namely, system, games and apps. The OPPO R17 and R17 Pro were confirmed as the first devices to receive Hyper Boost through a software update. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed a list of OPPO phones that will be upgraded to Hyper Boost through the latest ColorOS 5.2.1 update.

The OPPO Find X is scheduled to receive the Hyper Boost engine in this month. In November, the Chinese manufacturer will be making it available to devices like OPPO R11, R11 Plus, R11s, R11s Plus, A83 and A1.

OPPO has recently launched the OPPO R17 and R17 Pro smartphones with waterdrop display design. Sibling brand Vivo too will be launching Vivo X23 and Vivo V11 series with very similar design on Sept.6. While the X23 smartphone will be launching in China, the V11 and V11 Pro will be announced in India. Compared to predecessor X21 and V9 smartphones, their upcoming successors will be featuring displays with smaller notch. Fresh photos of the Vivo X23 have surfaced to reveal its front and rear appearance. In one of the photos, the front design of the Vivo X23 is compared with OPPO R17 to show the display notch difference.

Vivo has claimed that the Vivo X23 will be offering 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and this is quite evident in the above photos. The reflective glass rear gives a premium appeal. The company has already confirmed that it will be arriving in color gradient options Magic Night Black, Phantom Purple and Phantom Purple. The handset shown is the black version of the phone.

The above photo that compares the front design of both phones shows that the OPPO R17 placed on the left has a drop-like notch whereas the notch on X23 appears round. The below image shows the differences in the positioning of the rear dual cameras on both phones. Finally, we have got a concrete piece of information about the OnePlus 6T. The upcoming flagship which has been reported to officially debut in November has just been certified by the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) in Russia. This kind of confirms its existence after tons of mere rumors. So, even though no important technologic breakthroughs have been made and no new flagship chipsets by Qualcomm have hit the shelves in the past few months, the second OnePlus flagship of this year will come just like in 2017.

Sadly, the EEC did not release any info about the specs sheet of the flagship. From the Russian agency, we only know that it has been certified with the model number A6013. So, we still have to rely on rumors. According to recent rumors, the upcoming OnePlus 6T will come with the same design as the new Oppo R17 Pro, which includes a waterdrop display which will have a minimal notch just for the front camera and an even higher screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor. But there should be a difference: the 6T is not expected to come with an in-display fingerprint reader, so it may be placed on the back.

It may even be available in gradient color variants like Stream Blue of the R17 Pro. And it may sport a triple camera setup composed of three sensors: one with a 12 MP resolution and a variable aperture (it will be possible to switch from f/1.5 to f/2.4) just like the latest Samsung flagships, one with a 20 MP resolution and a f/2.6 aperture and a TOF 3D stereo camera for AR able to capture depth info. The display of the OnePlus 6T should be a bit bigger than the one of its predecessor (6.4 inches with AMOLED technology and Full HD+ resolution), while the processor will be the Snapdragon 845.

The newly-announced Oppo R17 Pro is definitely one of the most interesting camera phones of 2018 as it features a triple camera setup just like the Huawei P20 Pro as well as a variable aperture like Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Note 9. Its camera department combines the most innovative camera features of this year, but will the photo quality reflect the goodness of these technologies? It is still too early to know the real quality of the setup given that the phone has just been announced, but in the meantime, the Chinese company has published the first camera sample shot from its triple camera on a post published from its Weibo account.

Even though the photo has been captured in low-light condition, there are no signs of digital noise in it. From this shot, we can assume that Oppo R17 Pro has pretty good quality when it comes to camera performance and its bright aperture works very well in low light situations. There are a number of processes involved in improving the low light sample, including AI image analysis, pixel-level color reconstruction, and cleaning the image to remove noise.

Note that you can’t really talk about a flagship’s camera performance until its honest review. So, don’t keep your hopes too high just yet. OPPO has recently confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Aug. 23 in Shanghai to announce the OPPO R17 and R17 Pro. In the previous week, the Chinese manufacturer had announced the by listing the R17 with its key specs on the official website. The R17’s listing on Oppshop.cn, the official store of the company had also listed the phone with a pricing of 999,999 Yuan. The company has now updated the Opposhop.cn listing of the phone. The handset carries a pricing of 3,499 Yuan (~$509).

In March, OPPO had launched the R15 and R15 Pro smartphones. The R15 smartphone was launched with a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (~$436) and the R15 Pro was introduced with a starting price of 3,299 Yuan (~$480). The R15 featured 6.28-inch OLED screen, MediaTek Helio P60, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera, 20-megapixel front camera and 3,450mAh battery. On the other side, the R15 Pro came with 6.28-inch OLED screen, Snapdragon 660, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel, 20-megapixel selfie camera and 3,430mAh battery.

The new OPPO R17 carries a costlier price tag of 3,499 Yuan (~$509) which is equal to the launch price of the Ceramic Black edition of the R15 Pro. Apart from Opposhop.cn, the R17 is also listed on JD.com, Lynx and Suning. The handset can be availed in color choices such as Streamer Blue and Neon Purple. The R17 is currently listed for reservations on all the aforementioned retailer sites. These retailers will bring the pre-sales of the R17 on Aug. 23 followed by its market release on Aug. 30.

As far as specs are concerned, the OPPO R17 features 6.4-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch design. It supports FHD+ resolution and produces a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent. Made out of glass on front and rear, the R17 measures 157.5 x 74.9 x 7.5mm and weighs 182 grams.

The R17 is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo that is customized with a layer of ColorOS 5.2. It is powered by Snapdragon 670 and 8 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 128 GB and it also includes a microSD card slot. The handset is packed with a battery of 3,500mAh battery that supports VOOC fast charging through USB-C. For photography, the R17 features 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera and 25-megapixel selfie snapper.

There is no information available on the pricing of the OPPO R17 Pro. Also, the handset that is equipped with triple camera sensors which includes a TOF 3D sensing sensor is yet to be listed on the official site. Its detailed specs and pricing will be confirmed on Aug. 23.

Today, the Chinese giant has published an official video teaser revealing the presence of a triple camera setup on the Pro version, just like the latest reports suggested. The video also reveals the design in a beautiful gradient hue, but this is nothing new given that it has almost the same aesthetics as the original R17.

Unlike the Huawei P20 Pro, the third sensor present on the Oppo R17 Pro will not be a classic telephoto lens, neither a B/W monochromatic sensor. The phone comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ notched display. However, the notch is smaller than its predecessor and appears like a drop of water, thus the company has dubbed it as the waterdrop display. Oppo says that it has a 91.5 percent screen-t0-body ratio.

It also adopts the latest trend for the fingerprint sensor as the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, similar to the Vivo NEX and Xiaomi Mi 8. Under the hood, the Oppo R17 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 processor, making it the first device to be powered by the new chipset.

The smartphone packs 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage as well as a microSD card slot that enables users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity. On the front side, the device comes equipped with a 25-megapixel camera with artificial intelligence features. There’s an AI-based dual-camera setup on the back side, but the exact camera configuration is not yet known.

A smartphone suspected to be OPPO‘s latest R17 smartphone has been spotted on GeekBench. The device comes with the model number OPPO PBEM00 but is suspected to be the OPPO R17. Just as announced yesterday at the launch event, the GeekBench model has 8GB of RAM. However, the device is listed as having a Snapdragon 710 chipset onboard instead of the Snapdragon 670 announced during the launch.

Tere are two possible explanations for this confusing listing. The first and most likely explanation is the similarity between SDM710 and SDM670. Snapdragon 670 was announced recently with the same configuration as the Snapdragon 710 but with a different clock frequency. Twitter tipster Roland Quandt had alerted that the Geekbench listing shows the similarity between SDM710 and SDM670 chipset since the 670 is identified as 710. However, a look at the Snapdragon 670 Geekbench performance shows a similar score of 1863 points on the single core test and a multi-core score of 5,256 points. The OPPO PBEM00 model was able to garner a 1718 single core test score and 5834 points on the multi-core test. This is also not so different from Snapdragon 710 GeekBench score.

The second likely explanation is that OPPO will launch a second model with the Snapdragon 710 chipset. The Chinese phone maker is also rumoured as having an R17 Pro model in the works. The R17 Pro, if it ever will be released, could still utilise a Snapdragon 670 chipset.

The images that that have surfaced through TENAA certification matches with the leaked photos of OPPO R17 that have leaked in the recent weeks.

The images reveal that the front side of the PBEM00 / PBET00 feature a very small just like the waterdrop notch on the upcoming OPPO F9 smartphone. The backside of the phone features a vertical dual camera setup. Since the fingerprint scanner is not present on the backside of the phone and there is no space available for it on the front, it is speculated that the handset could be equipped with in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The TENAA listings of PBEM00 and PBET00 are yet to be populated with full specs. However, their listings do contain few information on their dimensions, display and battery. Both the smartphones measure 157.5 x 74.9 x 7.5mm and they feature 6.4-inch displays. They are powered by 3,415mAh batteries.

A Chinese leakster has claimed that PBEM00 / PBET00 that has been approved by OPPO R17 smartphone. He has claimed that the OPPO R17 Pro has not appeared on TENAA yet. He has added that the OPPO R17 could be an advanced smartphone featuring 8 GB or 10 GB of RAM and it will be also equipped with TOF 3D sensing technology for 3D facial recognition.  The 3C certifications of PBEM00 / PBET00 have revealed that they carry support for 20W fast charging.

Rumors are rife that the Chinese manufacturer may announce the R17 and R17 Pro smartphones by the end of this month. These could be the first phones to feature Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is speculated that the R17 may feature 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM and it could be priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$437). The advanced R17 Pro with 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM may cost 3,299 Yuan (~$481).

Another OPPO PAGM00 / PAGT00 smartphone with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and waterdrop notch has been spotted on TENAA. The above images show that the design of PAGM00 / PAGT00 OPPO phones are exactly same as PBEM00 / PBET00 and the only difference is the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The OPPO PAGM00 / PAGT00 could be a stripped-down version of PBEM00 / PBET00 and may arrive in the market as A series smartphone. At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the PAGM00 / PAGT00 smartphone.

New OPPO phones labelled as PBCM00 and PBCT00 have surfaced on the website of TENAA, the regulatory body of China. The TENAA listings of these devices have revealed that they share the same identical design and they are also packed with same-sized display and battery. This indicates that these could be the two variants of an upcoming OPPO phone. It is speculated that the newly spotted PBCM00 / PBCT00 may belong to the rumored R17 series.

The mysterious OPPO PBCM00 / PBCT00 smartphone measures 156.7 x 74 x 7.9mm and it features a 6.3-inch display. The handset is backed by a 3,415mAh battery.

It is difficult to deduce whether the frontside of the phone features a notch or not. The rear image of the smartphone reveals that it is fitted with a horizontally arranged dual camera setup. There is no fingerprint scanner on the backside of the phone. The color gradient rear of the phone suggests that it could be a high-end smartphone.

A recent report had revealed that OPPO has started teasing the R17 smartphone in China. This suggests that the Chinese manufacturer may launch R17 and R17 Pro as successor editions of the OPPO R15 and R15 Pro (aka Dream Mirror Edition smartphone that was unveiled earlier this year. The dimensions of the PBCM00 / PBCT00 is very similar to R15 Pro that measures 156.5 x 75.2 x 8mm. The R15 Pro is packed with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display and 3,430mAh battery. Hence, it seems that PBCM00 / PBCT00 OPPO phone could be the upcoming R17 series.

The TENAA listings of the PBCM00 and PBCT00 are expected to get updated with full specs in the next few days. Hence, OPPO fans will have to wait for few more days to know the exact identity of these phones.

Hence, the rumor mill been speculating that the upgraded OPPO R15s and R15s Pro may arrive in the next few months since the company had launched OPPO R15 and R15 Pro phones in March this year. Kumamoto Technology, a leakster from China has shared an image seems to have been snapped during a media event in the country. OPPO seems to be one of the sponsors of the event as the banners of the company can be seen in the image. What’s interesting about the image is that it features R17 billboards too. This suggests that the company has already started teasing the R17 smartphone in the home country. Probably, it may launch OPPO R17 and R17 Pro as the successor editions of R15 and R15 Pro.

As of this writing, there is no information available on the specs of the OPPO R17. In the recent, multiple Chinese leaksters including Kumamoto Technology have claimed that OPPO and Vivo could be the first companies to launch smartphones with 10 GB of RAM. Apart from sharing the above image, the leakster has once again shared his previous Weibo post in which he had claimed that smartphone featuring 10 GB RAM may launch by the end of the year.

He could be hinting that the OPPO R17 will come with 10 GB of RAM. However, it seems unlikely because the R15 duo feature 6 GB of RAM. Since the R-series of devices are not flagship phones from the company, there is a possibility that there could be another 2018 flagship phone from the company that will feature 10 GB of RAM. It is speculated that it could be equipped with Snapdragon 710 SoC.
