OPPO is one of those Chinese companies who is known to come up with innovative smartphones. The company had released the OPPO R7 and R7 Plus back in May. Both the devices came with high-end hardware with an all metal design. Now, the company has silently released the OPPO R7 Lite, which is a toned down version of the R7.

The OPPO R7 Lite comes with the same metal body as the R7 and the R7 Plus, along with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Despite its mid-range placement, its good to see OPPO stick with the same all metal body on this device.

As for the specs, the R7 Lite sports the Snapdragon 615 octa-core chip under the hood. There will be 2GB of RAM on board along with 16GB of storage. The phone comes with a 5-inch display with 720p resolution. As for the camera, you have a 13MP shooter at the back, capable of taking 50MP high resolution images. Up front, there’s an 8MP shooter. The battery is a bit disappointing at 2320mAh. But the R7 Lite supports OPPO’s VOOC fast charge tech which can charge up to 75% in 30 minutes. For software, the phone runs on Android 5.1 with ColorOS 2.0 on top.

According to the Indonesian listing of the OPPO R7 Lite, the phone is priced at 4.99 million Indonesian Rupiah which roughly translates to $350. As you can see, despite the reduction in cost, the phone’s specs don’t justify its high price. You can anytime get better alternatives like Xiaomi Mi4 or OnePlus 2 which offers a lot more power for around the same price.

After a lot of rumours and numerous leaks, the Chinese manufacture Oppo has finally released their beautiful all-metal Oppo R7 and R7 Plus devices. Both devices have an upper-midrange class specs, but the main aspect of both of the devices is the design.

Oppo R7

Let us start by the Oppo R7. It is a smaller model, which has a 1080p 5 inch display. It spots a metal unibody and the 2.5D glass on the front. It is indeed a very attractive looking device, which was a primary focus by Oppo while producing it.

The Oppo R7 spots a Snapdragon 615 chip, has 3 GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, which can be further expanded via the Micro SD card up to 128GB. There is also a dual SIM card tray (one being a micro SIM, another doubles as nano SIM/MicroSD card slot).  Moreover, the smartphone has a 13 MP back camera with LED flash and aperture of f/2.2. Also, there is an 8MP shooter on the front with the aperture of f/2.4. All of this is powered by the 2320 mAh battery (non-removable), which may sound weak, but as usual to Oppo devices, it supports Oppo’s VOOC fast-charging technology, which lets you charge the device up to 75% in about 30 minutes of time.

Oppo R7 Plus

The Oppo R7 is a bigger brother, which carries a very similar design to the R7. This giant has all the same specs, but there are a few differences.  Of course, the main difference here is that the R7 carries a much larger, 6 inch 1080p Super Amoled display. Another thing that separates it from the R7 is that it has a fingerprint scanner just below the back camera. Moreover, the bigger screen requires some more power and here Oppo decided to implement a juicy 4100 mAh non-removable unit.

The devices are up for pre-order and the good thing that it can be bought easily from Oppo’s official store Oppostyle.com. The Oppo R7 costs around $400 and the R7 Plus has the price-tag of around $480 for Chinese market, but we should expect similar prices on the international e-store.

Oppo seems to have nailed the design here by providing a classy all-metal and 2.5D glass combination. However, it does not carry the bleeding-edge specs for all those geeks out there. Oppo is one of those Chinese manufacturers, which loves producing some interesting and innovative looking devices. The company has been on the news lately since they will announce their new device on May 20th during the conference in Beijing, China.

It seems that not only fans, but also the company itself is excited about the upcoming release as the manufacturer keeps disclosing some more and more interesting features of the R7 device.

This time around, OPPO praises the camera of the upcoming R7. To begin with, the device will have a phase detection focusing technology, which is said to keep the focus speed at 0.1s. What is more, the smartphone will feature “Global flash shot”, which should include tricks like dual-drive focus, rapid startup and preferred image stabilisation. All of these goodies are said to help for a super fast start of the camera, fast focusing and stabilising the image for both photo and video modes. Moreover, the camera will feature ultra-clear, slow shutter and double exposure modes.

As far as the design goes, we know that the Oppo R7 will feature an all-metal design (not just a metal frame). Also, it will have a 2.5D glass on the front to ensure the seamless look and feel.

As far as specs are concerned, the device will spot a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 615 processor. Also, it will have 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage (we hope it will be expandable), 13MP/8MP camera combo on the back and front, respectively.

The Oppo R7 shapes up to be a pretty good device. Well, it is definitely not a flagship since it does not have a top notch chip, but this should make it a more affordable offering. What is more, R series is more about the design and aesthetics both inside and out, so the upcoming model is a natural sequence in company’s devices’ portfolio.

Just yesterday, we saw the first glimpse of the upcoming OPPO R7 Plus handset. Today, in an advert the company has revealed the device in full glory, once again confirming the rear fingerprint sensor.

The images reveal that the OPPO R7 Plus will be much bigger than the R7 model, but the overall design remains the same. So, the phone should come with 2.5D glass just like the R7. You can even see the front of the device in this advert, which shows that the R7 Plus will have a good screen to body ratio. Of course, its noway near the super slim (in fact almost non-existent) bezel design of the Nubia Z9, still the phone looks quite good.

The advert also confirms the presence of VOOC fast charge technology on the device, which isn’t surprising given that most top-end OPPO devices usually come with this feature. The all metal design on both the handsets gives it a premium feel and it looks like both the phones are going to bring some exciting specs and features. OPPO has always priced its products a bit higher than competitors, but given the immense growth and competition in the Chinese smartphone market, it would be interesting to see the pricing of both the handsets.

The OPPO R7 and the OPPO R7 Plus are expected to be unveiled on May 20, which is just 10 days away. So, stay tuned for more information.

OPPO R7 has been the hot topic among tech lovers in the past few days, thanks to its super slim designed and rumored top end specs. Earlier, we had seen two different versions of the device hit TENAA namely the OPPO R7t and OPPO R7C, but at that time we didn’t know all specs of the device.

However, now the detailed tech specs of both the devices have been revealed and they confirm the top-end placement of the devices. There are slight differences between the two models since one is the China Mobile version while the other is the China Telecom version. However, the core specs remain the same on both the devices.
Before we actually move on to the specs, we have to note that there is no mention of a front or even a rear placed fingerprint sensor which probably means the R7 won’t feature this tech.

The biggest difference between the two versions is the processor under the hood. The OPPO R7 China Telecom Edition comes with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 processor while the China Mobile version comes with a 1.7GHz Mediatek MT6752 octa-core processor. Other tech specs are the same, so the phone features a 5-inch Full HD display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 128 GB. There will be an 8MP camera up front with a 13MP shooter at the back. The device will feature a 2320mAh battery and will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.

As for the body, the phone comes with 2.5D glass in a 6.3mm thin fuselage. Its also pretty lightweight as it weighs just 139 grams. As you can see, the phone is quite capable, however, it isn’t as ground breaking update as expected. Probably the rumored OPPO R7 Plus will feature the expected top end technology but for now, OPPO R7 looks pretty ordinary.

Oppo has officially announced the launch date window of their upcoming flagship, the Oppo R7, through the company’s Weibo page.

According to the announcement, the company plans to release the Oppo R7 sometime in May. The exact date of the launch will probably be revealed at the beginning of next month. The announcement also mentioned that the Oppo R7 will definitely feature a full metal body with a smooth flat back panel which could be seen from previously leaked images of the R7.

The Oppo R7 will also feature the company’s VOOC flash charge technology which allows for fast charging by safely providing 4,000mA at 5V of current to the device for faster charging times. As for the phone’s new features, those are still unknown but more information should be released as the launch draws closer.

In the past few weeks, we have seen a number of leaks about the upcoming bezelless device from OPPO. Many claim that the phone is the next generation model of the R5, to be called as the OPPO R7. However, earlier today, a new leak reveals that the R7 may not be bezelless but in fact, it could be one of the slimmest devices in the market.

This won’t be surprising given that OPPO R5 is also extremely thin and its body measures just 4.85mm. Its so slim that only a couple of devices in the market can boast of being thinner than the R5. So, OPPO R7 could be the company’s latest move to reclaim its title for the thinnest smartphone in the market.

However, there’s a lot of changes in design. Unlike the R5, which had a sharp rectangular design, the new R7 is said to feature round corners with a smooth design. In fact, from the leaked renders, it looks like the phone may have taken some design inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 6. However, the phone may retain the same all metal design as the R5.

Another important highlight of the phone’s design is the camera unit. Usually, thin phones tend to have protruding cameras since its extremely hard to fit in a powerful sensor inside a slim body. However, the OPPO R7 renders show that the phone may have a camera sensor that blends well with its overall design. Its not raised like the iPhone 6 camera.

As for the tech specs, the OPPO R7 is expected to feature Mediatek’s new MT6753 octa-core processor with full network connectivity. The phone will most likely come with a 4.7-inch display with 2.5D glass. Pricing and other specs details are not known at the moment. However, since OPPO devices usually retail for a premium, expect the R7 to be priced around 2999 Yuan.

Every Chinese manufacturer seems to be obsessed with bezelless display. We have already seen the Subor S3 bezelless phone, and now mainstream manufacturers like ZTE, LeTV and even OPPO seems to be working on such a device. While LeTV’s One Pro flagship isn’t really bezelless, earlier today we saw the Nubia Z9 in pictures which confirmed the borderless screen. Even the upcoming OPPO model too is expected to be truly bezelless, and today another set of images have leaked showing off the R7 smartphone in full glory.

The images leaked today clearly shows that the display is bezel free. Yes, we can find no borders at all, as the display smoothly blends into the sides. The display is actually curved at the sides, and this could be a visual trick to give it a bezelless look. But whatever the technology used, the display does look a whole lot vibrant and beautiful.

You will three capacitive buttons at the bottom, and front camera, sensors and receiver mesh on top of the display. From what we can see, this is the same phone that was showcased in a video a few weeks back. So, this could indeed be the real OPPO bezelless phone.

However, unlike ZTE Nubia Z9, we still have no confirmation of the model name (R7?) or even the existence of such a device officially. So, its best to wait for some more concrete details before we go ahead and get excited.

However, MediaTek is aiming at the high-end mobile marketplace, releasing their own OctaCore devices and by launching the MT6795 high-performance processor. While former MTK chipsets, including the MT6595 and the MT6752 are already featured on a number of 3000 mid level models, the new MT6795 will help MTK reach the high end mobile market once again.

HTC E9

One of the first MT6795 phones to feature the OctaCore processor that will hit both the worldwide and the Chinese mobile markets is the HTC E9. Featuring a QuadHD 5.5 inch screen, the device will harness the power of the processor with the help of 3GB of RAM. Delivering a seamless end-user experience, HTC E9 will have as much as 32 GB of internal memory and will be running the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system. Compared to its cheaper sibling, the HTC M9, the device holds up pretty good and being priced at 2999 yuan it has quite the competitive edge.

LeTV X600

Another one of the MT6795 phones that will feature the 2.2GHz OctaCore processor is the LeTV X600. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, the smartphone will feature a 5.5 Full HD 1080p screen, 16 GB of internal storage and as much as 2GB of RAM. Supporting 4G, the price is currently unknown. However, according to speculation, the LeTV X600 will hit the market anywhere between 999 and 1999 yuan.

Vivo X7

A number of rumors have hit the web, regarding the upcoming successor of the Vivo X5. While little is currently certain, regarding the Vivo X7, the device is said to feature the latest MTK OctaCore MT6795 processor. According to insiders, the new high-performance chip will result in a faster device that is able to compete on the high-end mobile market.

OPPO R7

Quite infamous on the Chinese mobile market, OPPO is becoming a staple of Chinese mobile manufacturers. According to industry sources, the latest flagship from the company, the OPPO R7, will feature a 20.7 MP camera and the device will be a MT6795 Phone, featuring the OctaCore processor, resulting in a powerful multimedia smartphone.

Meizu MX4

During the Mobile World Congress, the MT6795 OctaCore processor was unveiled to the public via an upgraded version of the Meizu MX4. Breaking the late launch tradition of Meizu, the new MX4 is said to be released in the second quarter of this year, transitioning to a full 64-bit architecture with the help of the MT6795 and Xiaolong 810. This will result in a faster Meizu MX4 flagship, not only delivering better photos, but an overall greater mobile multimedia experience. Furthemore, running the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, the new Meizu MX4 will be able to fully take advantage of its hardware, resulting in an amazing mid-range 64-bit flagship.
