Oppo has introduced the Reno 10 series smartphones in India, featuring three models: Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. Out of these three models, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro and 10 Pro+ can now be purchased in the country. So here’s everything you need to know regarding the pricing, launch offers, and availability.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ 5G and Reno 10 Pro 5G smartphones in India are priced at INR 54,999 and INR 39,999, respectively. These two models will be available for purchase starting from July 13 at 12 AM through various channels including Flipkart, the official Oppo store, and offline retail outlets. The smartphones will be offered in two colors, Moonlit Purple and Silvery Grey.

The Oppo Reno 10 series made its debut in China in late May. More than a month later, the lineup is gradually making its way to the global markets.

For the first time, the company is launching the ‘Pro+’ model in almost all regions. It acts as the brand’s flagship smartphone of 2023 outside mainland China since the Find X6 lineup remains exclusive to its home country.

Despite being the most expensive offering in many markets, the Reno family is not as premium as the Find X. It falls under the affordable premium category and focuses more on lifestyle aspects, like design and camera features.

For the unaware, we reviewed the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus recently. The device proves that flagships can be thin and light.

The Indian division of Oppo also sent us a review unit. It is the company’s first ‘Reno Pro+’ handset in the country. Most importantly, it is the first proper Oppo-branded flagship smartphone in India since the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom.

While the phone may not feature the latest or the best hardware it is not as expensive as other flagships either. This puts the product in an interesting position.

Having used the handset for the last few weeks, I have expressed my thoughts on the device in this article. Before you start reading my opinion, I would like to put out a disclosure that Oppo had no early look or editorial input.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is priced strategically

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is priced at ₹54,999 in India. This pricing puts it comfortably between the OnePlus 11R and the OnePlus 11.

To recall, OnePlus is a sub-brand of Oppo but both operate as independent companies in India. However, when you take a look at their mainstream portfolio together, you get a complete picture.

Both brands together cover all the important price categories in the country. Their prime offerings start from ₹18,000 and go all the way up to ₹62,000. Thus, consumers get a OnePlus or Oppo option at every price segment.

As far as the Reno 10 Pro Plus is concerned, it can be termed a better option than the OnePlus 11R. So if your budget is under ₹60,000 and you are not a fan of the OnePlus 11 for some reason, this is a very good alternative.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is more of a lifestyle smartphone. It is not about ‘speed’ like OnePlus 11/11R but ‘fundamentals’ that matter more for a wider audience.

It has got a thin and light design, which I believe caters to more people. You also get excellent cameras and very useful rapid fast charging. All of these are part of the package that doesn’t sacrifice on the performance front either.

What’s more important is that the Reno 10 Pro Plus is more affordable than flagships from leading brands in India, such as Vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Apple. So it is actually cleverly priced even though it sounds expensive.

Is Oppo trying to enter India’s premium segment?

Oppo has had its presence in India for over 9 years. But it is yet to make a name for itself in the premium category. On the other hand, its former sister brand OnePlus is a well-known player in this segment for a very long time.

The OnePlus brand is more valuable than any other Chinese smartphone brand in India. Interestingly, it does not enjoy the same status anywhere else.

This is why I think Oppo let OnePlus exclusively continue with flagship devices, while it took a backseat with the affordable premium Reno lineup. But with the launch of Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus, this long-running strategy seems to be ending.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus clearly acts as an alternative to the OnePlus 11. Though both phones cost about the same, they are different from each other in many ways.

There are some features like a periscope camera that can be only found on the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus at this price. These features make it stand out, not only from the OnePlus 11 but also from other flagships that are more expensive.

Is this truly the start of a new strategy by Oppo and will it succeed? Only time will tell. But I really hope it does, as more options spice up the competition and benefit consumers.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus excels in its core features

Just like its predecessors, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is marketed as a ‘Portrait Expert’. I wasn’t sold on the idea with previous devices as they lacked telephoto cameras. But the new gen phone changes everything.

The Reno 10 Pro Plus arrives with a 3x periscope camera. The zoom lens uses a 64MP Omnivision OV64B sensor. Oppo has used this very same sensor on several of its devices, like Reno 6 Pro 5G, Reno 6 5G, Oppo F21 Pro, and more.

With years of experience in tuning this sensor, the company has managed to develop a very good portrait algorithm for the Reno 10 Pro Plus. You get nice dramatic portrait shots along with an option to change the aperture if required after the pictures are taken.

This 3x periscope camera also supports up to 120x digital zoom. But realistically speaking, only up to 40x zoom under good lighting is somewhat usable. It is worth noting that you get impressive details even in 20x when there is enough light.

By default, the camera gives you four viewing angles – 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and 6x. You should probably stick with them if you want the best out of the handset.

The portrait excellency even extends to the front camera. The smartphone uses the tried and tested 32MP Sony IM709 sensor with autofocus. 

The main 50MP Sony IMX890 is no slouch either. However, primary cameras are generally good on handsets in this price range. The 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera also performs well under good lighting.

Further, unlike the previous Renos in India, the new one is run by a respectable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It easily handles everything you throw at it, including games but with some exceptions.

Also, it sports a 1.5K display which is sharper than regular 1080 panels. The curved screen is capable of displaying true-to-life colors if you use the appropriate color profile. It even supports HDR image viewing in Gallery and it really adds up to the experience.

As with any Reno-branded handset, the Reno 10 Pro Plus feels comfortable to hold. The weight of the product is equally distributed and it does not feel heavy in a particular location. I don’t mind the plastic frame as it not only feels strong but helps in keeping the weight lower.

Finally, thanks to 100W charging support, the device’s battery can be filled in about 30 minutes or less. Just a few minutes of charging is enough when you are in a hurry.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus could have been better in these aspects

Like any other product, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is not perfect. There are many things that I wish it did better.

Though I love the design and in-hand feel of the phone, I am not impressed by the haptics. This takes away the soul of the handset. The vibration motor is not strong enough like on the more expensive Find X series.

For some reason, the device does not support video recording from ultra-wide and periscope cameras. I hope Oppo enables it via software update. Also, the video recording from the front camera is capped at 1080p 30fps.

The phone is equipped with good dual stereo speakers with the earpiece acting as the secondary unit. But you have to max out the volume for the speakers to get sufficiently loud.

Further, as much as I love the cameras on the device, they have their flaws. I enjoyed clicking portraits of my nephew but as a kid, he moves a lot. The shutter speed isn’t fast enough, so I have more blurry pictures of him than perfect shots. The shutter speed gets even worse when the environment becomes darker.

Additionally, the periscope camera cannot be used in low light. The phone falls back to the main sensor automatically. So you end up getting oversharpened and less detailed zoomed-in shots.

Despite supporting extreme zoom levels, the device does not come with a ‘moon mode’. I was able to get the moon in frame easily at just 40x but there’s no onboard processing to improve the shot.

I had no issue with the software as I consider ColorOS to be one of the best Android skins on the market. But I was taken aback by noticing the controversial ‘Enhanced Intelligent Services’ turned on by default.

Consumers must have the right to enable or disable sharing their critical data with brands. This is not even acceptable on budget smartphones, let alone flagships.

Last but not least, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset inside the handset is not tuned properly. Benchmarks return lower than usual stability scores. Also, the phone can only last a day or less, especially on 5G.

Some of the aforementioned issues can be fixed via software updates. But when you are paying a premium, you shouldn’t have to wait for updates for a perfect device. 

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is a solid alternative to OnePlus 11

I expected the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus to cost ₹49,999 but unfortunately, it is more expensive at ₹54,999. At this price, it is just ₹2,000 cheaper than the OnePlus 11. Still, it’s a good alternative.

The two phones are different from each other. So, they don’t compete with each other. Rather they are targeted at different audiences.

I would personally go with the Reno over the OnePlus. The versatile camera setup and excellent in-hand feel makes it a better option for me. Also, I am in love with this ‘Glossy Purple’ color.

Since I don’t play games much, I don’t care about sustained performance. But if you do, OnePlus is the one for you.

Either way, I would suggest you experience these smartphones at the stores before making a purchase decision. On paper specs never tell the complete story.

Pricing & availability

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ 5G has been launched with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, costing Rs 54,999. It will be available in Silver Grey and Glossy Purple color variants starting July 13. The Reno 10 Pro comes with the same 12GB RAM and 256GB configuration with a price tag of Rs 39,999. This too will be available to purchase starting July 13, in Silver Grey and Glossy Purple color variants.

The pricing details for the standard Reno 10 5G variant have not been disclosed by the brand at the moment. However, they have stated that the price will be unveiled on July 20 through the online retailer Flipkart.

Only Honor will be introducing a new handset exclusively in China. While Nothing’s product will be unveiled in India as well as other markets. Lastly, devices from Oppo and Infinix will be limited to India.

Upcoming Smartphones Next Week

Nothing Phone 2

Nothing has confirmed to unveil its second smartphone called Nothing Phone 2 on July 11 (Tuesday). Unlike the brand’s first handset, the new one will arrive with a more powerful chipset among others.

As per leaks and teasers, the successor of Nothing Phone 1 will sport a tweaked design with more LED lights for its updated Glyph interface on the back. Under the hood, it will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip.

Other expected features include a 6.72-inch FHD+ (2412 x 1080 pixels) 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, Android 13, and a 4,700mAh battery.

Oppo Reno 10 Series

The Oppo Reno 10 series is scheduled to launch in India on July 10 (Monday). The global version of the lineup consists of three models, namely Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro Plus. They just went official in Malaysia.

The Reno 10 Pro Plus for international markets is the same as the one sold in China. However, the vanilla and pro variants are different from the original Chinese models.

The global Reno 10  and the Reno 10 Pro feature less powerful Snapdragon 778G and Dimensity 7050 chipsets, respectively. They also support slower charging standards (80W and 67W).

Honor Magic V2

The Honor Magic V2 is set to go official in China on July 12 (Wednesday). It is the brand’s third foldable smartphone after Magic V and Magic Vs.

Not much is known about this device. But two variants are expected, one with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and the other with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip 2.

Infinix Hot 30 5G

The Infinix Hot 30 5G is planned to debut in India on July 14 (Friday).  Thanks to leaks and teasers, we know a few things about this handset.

The device will flaunt a centered punch-hole display with 580 nits peak brightness level. It will sport a 50MP rear camera and will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery.

Last but not least, it will be available in two colors in the country, such as Aurora Blue and Knight Black. It is not known if the Miami Orange option with a faux leather finish will release in the region.

Back in May 2023, the Oppo Reno 10 series had been launched in the Chinese market. Since then, we had covered various reports that had hinted at its global launch, which was confirmed recently. However, it appears that the Reno 10 lineup that is arriving in the global market will be slightly different from the Chinese variant. So here’s a detailed rumor roundup.

Design & Display

In terms of design, the global variant of the Reno 10 series will look identical to their Chinese counterpart with changes only being reflected in the internal specifications. Thus, the Reno 10 will still launch with a curved glass body on the rear, with a plastic frame on the side. Meanwhile, the higher end Reno 10 series also features the exact same build quality. Another aspect that is similar is the large camera island on the back.

The Reno 10 series features a large oval shaped module that houses the triple rear image sensors. This module features a dual tone design with one half housing the two cameras and LED flash module while the lower half has the periscopic zoom lens and the MariSilicon branding. On the front, the entire lineup features a center aligned punch hole selfie camera and curved displays.

The base Reno 10 sports a 6.7 inch OLED 10bit panel that supports 2412 x 1080 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 2160 PWM dimming, and 950 nits of peak brightness. On the other hand, the Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ feature a taller 6.74 inch OLED 10bit panel has a higher 2772 x 1240 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a higher peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Specifications

The specs sheet is where we’ll find the major differences between the Chinese and global versions. Although, the Reno 10 Pro+ appears to be the only model that is identical for the global launch. In other words, it is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. These specs basically means that this is a high model that will deliver top notch performance.

However, the Reno 10 Pro features the Snapdragon 778G SoC over the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chip found in the Chinese variant. Similarly, even the Reno 10 will be equipped with a Dimensity 7050, rather than the Snapdragon 778G processor in its Chinese version. These two models will come with at least one variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Under the hood, the Reno 10 Pro+ will be powered by a 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 100W SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology. This enables the device to hit 50 percent charge in just 10 minutes and hit 100 percent in an impressive 27 minutes. The Reno 10 Pro houses a 4,600mAh battery pack that supports 80W fast charging, which can also charge the device to 100 percent in 28 minutes. Lastly, we have the base Reno 10 that has the largest 5,000mAh battery pack in the series, but with the slowest 67W fast charging rate. It also takes the longest to charge, hitting full capacity in 47 minutes.

The Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro employ a conventional graphite cooling system. All three models will also run on Android 13 OS out of the box.

Camera

While all three smartphones feature a triple camera setup, there are some slight differences between them. The top end Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ features a 50 megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor that supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) that is paired with an 8 megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra wide angle lens, and a 64 megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope zoom lens as well that supports OIS and 3x optical zoom and up to 120x hybrid zoom. On the front, it houses a 32 megapixel Sony IMX709 selfie camera.

The base Reno 10 features a 64 megapixel OV64B primary sensor on the rear that is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle Sony IMX355 sensor and a 32 megapixel telephoto shooter, which is a Sony IMX709 sensor that offers 2x optical zoom. The front houses a 32 megapixel selfie camera.

Availability

Based on our recent reports, the launch for the highly anticipated Reno 10 series is just around the corner. A couple of months later after the Chinese unveiling of the Oppo Reno 10 series, the brand is now gearing up to launch the device in the global market. Earlier, Oppo announced that the Reno 10 series will debut in Malaysia on July 6. Now, the Indian launch date has also been revealed.

According to a press release by Oppo, the Reno 10 series will make its Indian debut on July 10. In addition to that, the brand has also shared details about some key features coming to the Reno 10 series Indian variants. Let’s take a look.

Oppo Reno 10 series (Indian variant) specs & features

The brand has officially revealed that the Reno 10 Pro+ is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, delivering a 10% improvement in CPU performance and 30% better efficiency compared to its predecessor. The Reno 10 Pro houses the Snapdragon 778G SoC and the Reno 10 features the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC.

Talking about the battery, the brand has introduced the 100W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge technology in the Reno 10 Pro+, enabling a 4700mAh battery to reach 50% in under 10 minutes and a full charge in just 27 minutes. The Reno 10 Pro also boasts fast charging with 80W SUPERVOOC, delivering a full charge to its 4600mAh battery in just 28 minutes. Meanwhile, the Reno 10 comes with 67W charging, allowing its 5000mAh battery to reach 100% in 47 minutes.

To maintain optimal performance, Oppo incorporates advanced cooling technologies. The Reno 10 Pro+ utilizes Ultra-Conductive Graphite and a Vapour Chamber, resulting in a 92% increase in heat dissipation capacity and improved temperature control during gaming. The Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 also employ high-performance graphite for effective cooling.

In a notable addition, Oppo has equipped every model in the Reno 10 Series with an IR blaster, making it the first time this feature is available on its global smartphones. Upcoming Smartphones in July 2023

Motorola Razr 40 Series

Motorola unveiled the Razr 40 series in early June. These clamshell foldables are on sale in multiple countries for quite a while. They will be debuting in India on July 3.

The lineup includes two products, namely Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra. The former is currently the most affordable foldable smartphone on the market. While the latter has the largest cover screen.

As per an accidental promo by Amazon, the Razr 40 Ultra could start at ₹59,999 in India. This price tag may be inclusive of offers.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on July 4. As the name suggests, it will be a better version of iQOO Neo 7 from earlier this year.

As per teasers and leaks, the device will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, an OIS-assisted 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 120W fast-wired charging support.

The handset is expected to arrive in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB memory configurations. It may cost around ₹33,999 inclusive of offers.

iQOO 11S

The iQOO 11S will make its debut in China on July 4. It is a mid-year refresh for the iQOO 11 released earlier this year.

The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It will be fitted with a 2K 144Hz Samsung E6 AMOLED display with up to 1800 nits of peak brightness level.

The device will feature an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera. Lastly, it will draw energy from a 4,700mAh battery and support 200W fast wired charging.

Red Magic 8S Pro

The Red Magic 8S Pro is set to launch in China on July 5. It will go official as the world’s first 24GB RAM smartphone.

The phone will be powered by an overclocked version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 chipset. It will be offered in regular and transparent back options, like its predecessors.

The device will come equipped with an obstruction-free display, courtesy of an under-display camera. Finally, it will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 165W fast wired charging support.

Honor X50

The Honor X50 will be launched in China on July 5. The handset will be almost similar to its predecessor Honor X40.

It is tipped to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC inside. While the brand has officially confirmed that it will be backed by a 5,800mAh battery.

Other expected features include a 1.5K curved OLED display with high-frequency PWM dimming and a 100MP primary camera. Lastly, it is said to carry support for 35W fast wired charging.

OnePlus Nord 3 and Nord CE 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 and OnePlus Nord CE 3 are scheduled to go official in India and other global markets on July 5. The former is a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V, while the latter is a new product.

The Nord CE 3 is expected to arrive with a 6.72-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G SoC, a 50MP main camera, a 16MP front-facing camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 80W fast wired charging support.

As their names suggest, the Nord 3 and Nord CE 3 will succeed the Nord 2T and Nord CE 2. However, it’s not known whether their predecessors will be discontinued.

Oppo Reno 10 Series

The Oppo Reno 10 series is expected to release in multiple international markets in July. It will be first announced in Malaysia on July 6.

Just like in China, the global version of the lineup is expected to include three devices. However, the vanilla and pro models will be slightly different from the originals. But the Pro Plus is said to be the same.

All three phones will come with a zoom camera. The Pro Plus will even feature a periscope lens. Finally, they will sport the same design and a curved OLED display.

Realme Narzo 60 Series

The Realme Narzo 60 series is planned to launch in India on July 6. The lineup consists of two handsets, namely Realme Narzo 60 and Realme Narzo 60 Pro.

Both these products are rebranded versions of existing Realme number series smartphones. The vanilla model is a rebadged Realme 11, while the pro variant is a renamed Realme 11 Pro.

It is worth noting that the Realme 11 Pro is already available in India under its original name. However, the standard model is yet to debut in the region. The series is expected to start from ₹17,999 inclusive of offers.

Honor 90

The Honor 90 will be unveiled for global markets on July 6. The global variant of the device is the same as the original Chinese version.

It is tipped to cost £449.99 for the base 8GB + 256GB memory configuration. The product will be also offered in a higher 12GB + 512GB memory variant.

The phone arrives with a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 200MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 66W fast-wired charging support.

Samsung Galaxy M34

The Samsung Galaxy M34 will go official in India on July 7. It is expected to be a watered-down version of Galaxy A34.

Official teasers have revealed that the smartphone will come with a 6.5-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, an OIS-assisted 50MP rear camera, a 16MP selfie camera, and a 6,000mAh battery. It will have the new universal design adopted by Samsung for its handsets.

Last but not least, the device is expected to house an Exynos 1280 SoC underneath it.

Nothing Phone 2

The Nothing Phone 2 will be made official on July 11. It will be announced in India and Europe.

As per teasers, the smartphone may retain the design of its forerunner with some tweaks. However, it will be more powerful, thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip under its hood.

Other expected specs of the product include a centered punch-hole OLED display, Glyph interface, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,700mAh battery.

Honor Magic V2

The Honor Magic V2 horizontal foldable smartphone is confirmed to go official on July 12. Interestingly, though we are only a few days away from the announcement, not much is known about this product.

Rumors suggest that there will be two variants featuring a custom 2K LTPO display. The regular model will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, while the  Ultimate edition will house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Oppo A78 4G and Oppo K11

Oppo is expected to unveil Oppo A78 4G and Oppo K11 in the next few days. As per leaks, the former is a 4GB variant of Oppo A78 5G, while the latter is the Chinese version of the OnePlus Nord CE 3.

The Oppo A78 4G is tipped to arrive with a 6.43-inch 90Hz OLED display, dual stereo speakers, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, a 50MP rear camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W fast wired charging support.

On the other hand, the Oppo K11 is expected to come with the same specs as Nord CE 3 discussed earlier.

Vivo V29 Series and Vivo Y27 5G

The Vivo V29 series and Vivo Y27 5G are anticipated to release in July. The former is a tweaked version of the Vivo S17 series for international markets, whereas the latter is a budget 5G smartphone.

The Vivo Y27 5G is expected to arrive with a 6.64-inch 90Hz FHD+ display (LCD), a 50MP main camera, a 16MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 44W fast-wired charging support. Essentially, it is said to be a rebranded Vivo Y36 5G.

Whereas, the Vivo V29 lineup will include Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro. The vanilla model will likely be similar to the Vivo S17, while the pro model will differ from S17 Pro.

Infinix Zero 30 5G

The Infinix Zero 30 5G might be unveiled in July. As of now, not much is known about this phone.

There are strong rumors suggesting that Oppo is planning to launch the Reno 10 series of smartphones globally in July. In comparison, the Chinese variant of the Reno 10 Pro features the Dimensity 8200 chipset.

On the other hand, the Reno 10 Pro+, scored 1070 and 3666 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively. The CPU details mentioned in the listing confirm that it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. As mentioned before, the same chip powers the Chinese edition of the device.

The Reno series is a very special series in the OPPO phone line. This series focuses on thinness, excellent selfie, and portrait photography, and is popular among younger ladies. However, the performance was not as good as similarly priced phones in the past, which made many people pass it up.

But since the Reno9 Pro+ used Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Reno series no longer has any obvious weaknesses. And today we’re introducing the Reno10 Pro+ which has evolved again, and this time I think it will suit most people.

Design

Reno10 Pro+ has a completely different design than the 9th gen. The camera module has become a large oval shape. The text next to the periscopic telephoto camera also indicates that it uses the same MariSilicon X chip as the Find X series, and the camera system must be amazing.

The purple one we have looks frosted, but it is glossy to the touch. Less saturated, brighter colors should be more in line with the flavor of young people. The weight of less than 200g and the thickness of less than 9mm are also the proud strengths of the Reno series.

The only regret is that the frame is still plastic. I guess it’s a trade-off to reduce weight. But as a $600 phone, I personally still hope to use the metal frame.

Camera

he biggest upgrade to the 10 Pro+ should be this new camera. After many years, OPPO has finally brought back the periscopic telephoto camera on the Reno series. The OV64B sensor is 1/2 inch in size, which is a very large size for a telephoto camera.

As a shutterbug, I really enjoy the convenience that telephoto brings me. Especially in the city, you can avoid a lot of things you don’t want to shoot and make your photos more focused on the subject. As long as the light is not very low, this telephoto camera will be able to do its job well.

When you have to take a long-distance photo in a dark scene, then it will still give priority to using the main camera crop.

But honestly, this telephoto camera performance has been similar to that of most $800 flagship phones, and it’s clear even when zoomed in to 6x during the day. So this new telephoto lens must be better than you can think of.

The Reno series has always had a great portrait mode. Beauty and AI background bokeh has always been top-notch, and you can use both features on all lenses except the ultra-wide camera.

The beauty function will remove all the blemishes from your face. It makes the skin look smoother while the pores are still visible. This feature is designed for Asian women’s preferences, and if you don’t like it, just turn it off to get a realistic selfie. Thanks to the 32MP RGBW front camera, all the details can be preserved in very low light, which is super impressive.

In addition to portraits, portrait mode is also surprisingly good for other subjects. Adjust the virtual aperture, the photo will look like it was taken with a DSLR.

The main camera and telephoto camera support up to 4K 60fps video recording, but the ultra-wide camera can only record 1080P 30fps video. Something I can’t understand is that OPPO doesn’t allow you to use the ultra-wide camera in Pro mode, and you can’t record video in this mode.

What’s even stranger is that the telephoto camera can do 4K 60fps video recording, but 1080P 60fps can’t be used with this lens. This also means you can’t use this phone for more professional video creation. This is a great pity for me.

Performance & Gaming

The Reno10 Pro+ still uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This flagship processor is good enough for most scenarios and performs very well on Benchmark. Although it does not use the latest 8 Gen 2, last year’s flagship processor is also very powerful.

In particular, the Reno10 Pro+ is surprisingly well-optimized for gaming. The temperature and power consumption are not too high. And it also only locks the frame at 53fps after 10 minutes. This is better than some 8 Gen 2 phones, so those who are worried about the poor performance of Reno10 Pro+ can not worry about this.

Display

The Reno10 Pro+’s screen specs are not top-notch, but they are still good. The resolution isn’t 2K, but it’s still sharper than 1080P. The peak brightness of 1400nit makes the HDR effect of this screen even better. So the ProXDR feature on the Find X6 is also found on the Reno10 Pro+. It will make your photos look even more shiny. Overall, it’s a good screen in all OPPO phones, the one just second to the Find X6 Pro.

Battery & Charging

The charging speed of 10 Pro+ has also been improved, from 80W to 100W. 27% is charged in 5 minutes and a full charge takes less than half an hour. Unfortunately, wireless charging is still not supported.

The battery capacity remains unchanged at 4700mAh. Since it is equipped with a more powerful chip and the battery capacity is not that large, the battery life does not give us any surprises.

Conclusion

As you can see, the Reno series is becoming more and more well-rounded, and the Reno10 Pro+ is the second flagship phone created by OPPO after the Find X6 Pro series. They are aimed at a different target group, if you care more about the weight, thickness, telephoto camera, and selfies of the phone. Then this is the ultimate answer for you from OPPO.

These smartphones will be officially called Oppo Reno 10, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus. Despite bearing the same names as the original Chinese variants, the Indian versions will be different.

The report says that the Oppo Reno 10 and Oppo Reno 10 Pro for India will be powered by the same chipsets — MediaTek Dimensity 7050. For comparison, the Chinese versions house Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chips, respectively.

However, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus for India will retain the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and 100W charging from its Chinese counterpart. Also, it will be the only model in the series with a telephoto camera.

In China, the entire Oppo Reno 10 lineup arrives with a telephoto camera as standard. All in all, the Indian variants of Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro sound like downgraded products.

Finally, the report adds that the Indian variants of these handsets might have a different design. We are looking forward to learning further about these phones in the coming days via more leaks and certifications.

Recently, Oppo and Vivo launched new affordable premium smartphones in China. These handsets go by Oppo Reno 10 series and Vivo S17 series. They are also expected to release in global markets in the coming days.

These phones are priced similarly and are also targeted at the same audience. However, they come with different features, making them stand out from one another.

These differences also make one of them better than the other, at least on paper. We think the Oppo Reno 10 series is sort of a better deal than the Vivo S17 series. Let’s go through our reasoning for this.

Oppo Reno 10 Series vs Vivo S17 Series

More Powerful Chipsets

The Oppo Reno 10 lineup is powered by better chipsets (except for the vanilla model) compared to the Vivo S17 family.

Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro house MediaTek Dimensity 8200 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chips, respectively. On the other hand, the Vivo S17t has a Dimensity 8050 SoC, while the S17 Pro comes with a Dimensity 8200 chipset.

But the standard S17 is run by a Snapdragon 778G Plus chip as opposed to a slightly weaker Snapdragon 778G SoC inside the regular Reno 10.

Versatile Camera Setup

All three handsets in the Oppo Reno 10 family come with a zoom camera as standard for portrait photography. The pro plus even features a periscope module. Whereas, only the pro variant gets a zoom camera in the Vivo S17 lineup.

So all Reno 10 series users get three proper lenses, such as wide, ultra-wide, and zoom. Further, just like the Vivo S17 series, the Reno 10 trio sport a selfie camera with autofocus.

Vivo makes up for a less versatile camera system by offering soft light (along with a dual-tone LED flashlight) on the rear and dual LED flashlights on the front.

Better Availability

As per leaks, all three Oppo Reno 10 phones, namely Oppo Reno 10, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus will be released in multiple international markets under their original names.

But the Vivo S17 smartphones will see a limited release in select global markets as the Vivo V29 series. Most importantly, they will be slightly different (downgraded) from the original models.

Smartphone launches are expected to slow down in June 2023. After two months of busy releases, it will be comparatively calmer for a while.

As of writing this article, only a few brands have officially confirmed to debut new phones. These companies are Motorola and Samsung to name a couple.

Though we have multiple other handsets from different brands on the list, these are based on leaks and rumors. So they may or may not launch in June.

Anyways, only one of them will be a premium device. However, two foldables are expected. Most of the remaining phones belong to either mid-range or affordable premium categories.

Upcoming Smartphones in June 2023

Motorola Razr 40 Series

The Motorola Razr 40 series is scheduled to launch on June 1. The lineup is expected to include two clamshell foldable phones, namely Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra.

The ultra will come with a larger 3.5-inch cover screen, while the vanilla model will sport a Galaxy Z Flip 4-esque tiny cover display. Further, the former will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip compared to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC inside the latter.

The Razr 40 Ultra is also tipped to arrive with a 6.9-inch main foldable display, a 12MP (wide) + 13MP (ultra-wide) dual camera system, a 32MP selfie camera, a 3,800mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy F54

The Samsung Galaxy F54 is set to launch in India on June 6. It will most likely be rebranded Galaxy M54.

The device is tipped to arrive with a 120Hz Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 1380 chip. It will sport a 108MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide unit and a 2MP macro snapper.

The phone will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 25W charging. Finally, it is rumored to cost about ₹30,000.

Realme 11 Pro Series

The Realme 11 Pro series is tipped to launch in India on June 8. There will be two handsets, namely Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro Plus. Both of them went official in China in early May.

The pro plus comes with a leather back, a Dimensity 7050 SoC, a 200MP primary camera, and a 120Hz curved 10-bit curved OLED display. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging support.

On the other hand, the pro variant retains most of the features of the pro plus but arrives with a 100MP main camera and supports slower 67W charging.

Vivo V29 Series

The Vivo V29 series is anticipated to release in the coming days in Southeast Asia. It will be rebranded Vivo S17 series.

The lineup is expected to consist of two models, such as Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro. Both of them will sport an FHD+ 120Hz curved OLED display and a 50MP Sony IMX766V primary camera.

The vanilla version will be powered by a Snapdragon 782G chipset as opposed to a Dimensity 8050 inside the pro. The latter will also come with an additional 12MP telephoto camera and support faster 80W charging.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is anticipated to go official in select global markets in the coming days. Since the handset is on sale in China for a while, we know everything about it.

The most-premium slab smartphone from Xiaomi offers a Leica-powered camera system featuring a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 main camera, a 50MP 3.2x telephoto snapper, a 50MP 5x periscope shooter, and a 50MP ultra-wide unit. On the front, it has a 32MP selfie camera.

The device arrives with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a leather back, an IP68 rating, a 5,000mAh battery, 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Redmi 12

The Redmi 12 may debut in a few days from now. It will be a budget smartphone powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset. It is said to sport a 6.79-inch FHD+ display (LCD) with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The phone is anticipated to house a triple camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper.  It will offer a fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual stereo speakers.

Interestingly, it will boot outdated Android 12-based MIUI 13 and draw energy from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging.

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 is rumored to release in India in June. It is expected to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 2V.

Thus, the handset will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset and a 1.5K 120Hz OLED display. It will house a 5,000mAh battery and carry support for 80W wired charging.

The device will flaunt a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 2MP macro snapper, a 16MP selfie camera, dual stereo speakers, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Oppo Reno 10 Series

The Oppo Reno 10 series is tipped to launch in India in June at the earliest. All three variants, such as Oppo Reno 10, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus are anticipated to debut in the country.

All three smartphones sport a 120Hz curved OLED display but are powered by different chipsets. The vanilla, pro, and pro plus house Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8200, and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chips, respectively.

All of them provide a proper three-lens camera system featuring wide, ultra-wide, and zoom units. Finally, the vanilla model supports 80W charging, while the remaining two can charge at the rate of 100W.

Reports have claimed that the Reno 10 family will be heading to global markets, including India, in June or July. Today, tipster Paras Guglani shared key information on the series’ launch timeframe, price, variants, and color options for India.

OPPO Reno 10 series launch timeframe, price tipped for India

According to the tipster, the Reno 10 series will be available in three color options, such as Silver Grey, Confidential Black, and Dream Gold, in India. The base model of the Oppo Reno 10 will come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Reno 10 Pro and the Reno 10 Pro+ will be equipped with 12 GB of RAM and a generous 256 GB of internal storage.

Pricing details have also surfaced for the upcoming Oppo Reno 10 series. The base model of the Reno 10 is expected to be priced between Rs 31,000 (~$375) and Rs 33,000 (~$400). The Reno 10 Pro will fall in the range of Rs 35,000 (~$424) to Rs 39,000 (~$472). Finally, the top-of-the-line Oppo Reno 10 Pro+, packed with the most advanced technology, will be priced between Rs 41,000 (~$496) and Rs 43,000 (~$521).

Readers should take the aforementioned leaked information with a grain of salt until the official announcement from Oppo.

The Reno 10, the Reno 10 Pro, and the Reno 10 Pro+ launched in China are powered by the Snapdragon 778G, the Dimensity 8200, and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, respectively. Oppo Reno 10 series could now be on its way for a global launch. Last week, the Oppo Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+ went official in the Chinese market. These three devices have now been approved by the SIRIM certification platform in Malaysia.

As can be seen in the screenshot of the SIRIM certification, the Reno 10 with CPH2525 model number, the Reno 10 Pro with CPH2531 model number, and the Reno 10 Pro+ with CPH2521 model number have emerged in the database of the Malaysian authority. The SIRIM listings of the Reno 10 series have no information on their specifications.

However, it is speculated that the three phones may pack the same specs that are available on their Chinese counterparts. Apart from SIRIM, the Reno 10 series has also been approved in India, Indonesia, Singapore, and the UAE.

Oppo Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, Reno 10 Pro+ specifications

The Oppo Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+ have a 6.74-inch AMOLED curved-edge display that offers a 1.5K+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The series runs on Android 13 OS and ColorOS 13.1. All three phones have a 32-megapixel front camera.

The Reno 10 has the Snapdragon 778G chip, up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x/5, up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2/3.1 storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 80W charging. It has a 64-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 32-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.

The Reno 10 Pro features the Dimensity 8200 SoC, whereas the Reno 10 Pro+ houses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. Both smartphones offer 16 GB of LPDDR5, up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with (80W on Reno 10 Pro) 100W charging. The Reno 10 Pro has a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 32-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit. On the back, the Reno 10 Pro+ features a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 64-megapixel (periscope lens) triple camera system.

These devices are officially called Oppo Reno 10, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus. Unsurprisingly, the latter model has the best set of features.

In fact, we think that the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is the best Reno series smartphone (at least on paper) in a very long time. It offers almost all the important features consumers expect from a premium handset.

If you want a proper flagship smartphone from Oppo, the Find X series is still the one to buy. But this lineup is limited to select markets, unlike Reno.

Further, the Reno 10 Pro Plus is expected to release in more regions than the previous pro plus models. So it will be the most premium Oppo phone in many markets.

Considering this, the Reno 10 Pro Plus seems like a good device overall. But what makes it special? Let’s go through the answer to this question.

Beautiful Design

The Oppo Reno phones are known for their design, and the Reno 10 Pro Plus is no exception. Since design is subjective, some may not like the looks of the new Reno.

However, it is difficult for people not to appreciate the device’s dimensions. Despite packing a lot of things inside, It measures only 8.28mm in thickness and weighs about 194g.

Both the front display glass and the rear glass of the handset are curved to offer a comfortable grip. Finally, it arrives in two lively colors (Twilight Purple and Brilliant Gold) and one standard color (Moonsea Black).

Stunning Display

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus sports a 6.74-inch centered punch-hole curved OLED display with a 93.9% screen-to-body ratio. The 10-bit panel comes with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels, 450 PPI, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

The screen can reach a peak brightness level of 1400 nits during HDR playback. Even in standard HBM (High Brightness Mode), it can touch up to 1100 nits.

Lastly, the display supports a 4-stage adaptive refresh rate technology and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Powerful Internals

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. This chip is the second-most powerful mobile SoC from Qualcomm.

The chipset is further paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. This hardware combo is more than enough to ensure smooth performance throughout the product’s life.

The phone also uses Oppo’s self-developed MariSilicon X chip for image processing.

Great Cameras

Oppo Reno smartphones are known for their cameras. In the beginning, the company focussed more on hardware but later switched to focus more on software-based features.

Years later, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus brings back the hardware prowess with a proper three-lens camera system. The device includes wide, ultra-wide, and periscope zoom lenses.

The handset’s camera setup comprises an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 64MP 3x periscope shooter with OIS, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW selfie camera with autofocus.

The Reno 5 Pro Plus from 2021 was the last Reno phone with a zoom lens. On the other hand, the 2019 Reno 10x Zoom was the only other Reno handset with a periscope lens.

Nifty Features

The Oppo Reno Reno 10 Pro Plus comes with a few quality-of-life features that enhance the overall experience of using the smartphone.

The device houses Hi-Res Audio-certified linear dual stereo speakers. It also sports an x-axis linear vibration motor to offer 4D vibration.

Further, it arrives with an infrared sensor, which was previously mostly limited to Xiaomi handsets. There’s also support for dual-band GNSS for more accurate positioning and NFC for contactless payments and transit passes.

The phones will sport a curved display and will come with a zoom camera. Whereas, the pro and regular models will house Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 778G chips, respectively.

However, a commercial that has appeared on Youku, China’s leading online video and streaming service platform, has revealed that the Reno 10 Pro will be unveiled at 2:30 pm (local time) on May 24. As per rumors, the lineup will have three models: the Reno 10, the Reno 10 Pro, and the Reno 10 Pro Plus powered by the Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8200, and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets, respectively.

The Reno 10 series ad (screengrab below) that has surfaced on Youku seemingly showcases the design and color options of the Reno 10 Pro+. In addition, popular tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the key specifications of the Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro in a new Weibo post. Here’s what to expect from both smartphones.

Oppo Reno 10 specifications (rumored)

The Reno 10 will arrive with a 6.74-inch OLED curved-edge screen with an FHD+ resolution of 2412 x 1080 and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 front-facing camera. Oppo Reno 10 Pro series India launch could be near

The two Pro models have been sighted on the BIS certification listing (Bureau of Indian Standards). This listing has revealed that the Reno 10 Pro carries the CPH2525 model number, while the Reno 10 Pro+ model number is CPH2521. Unfortunately, the certification did not reveal any other finer details like their specifications. However, we have covered various reports, which includes a GeekBench listing that revealed some of its key specs.

The Reno 10 Pro+ model is expected to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC that will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM. In other words, it is a premium grade smartphone. On the other hand, the Reno 10 Pro is believed to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, which will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Furthermore, there have also been render leaks that have given us a detailed look at its design.

The device will feature a a pill shaped camera module that houses the Reno 10 Pro models’ triple camera setup. On the Reno 10 Pro+ variant, this module consists of a 50 megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor, along with an 8 megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra wide angle lens, and a 64 megapixel periscope shooter. Hands-on images of this device were spotted in an earlier report, and now, it has popped up on Geekbench revealing its performance.

OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ 5G Geekbench: SD8 Gen 1 confirmed

Geekbench website has revealed that the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ 5G, with model number PHU110, is powered by an SoC codenamed “taro,” which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz. The chipset includes three performance cores with 2.5GHz clock speed and four efficiency cores with 1.8GHz clock speed. For graphics, it has an Adreno 730 GPU. The device also has a 16GB RAM variant, and we can expect a 12GB RAM variant too. The device may come with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The phone will run on Android 13 with ColorOS 13 layered on top. In the Geekbench tests, the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G achieved a score of 1271 and 3930 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

With brands going with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for their premium mid-range devices, it is quite surprising that Oppo chooses to go with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a chip notorious for overheating. However, as there is no confirmation on it yet, it’s better to take this listing with a pinch of salt.

The month of May will be as busy as April if not more in terms of smartphone launches. Only 3 events are officially confirmed so far. But there are multiple other expected conferences, the dates for which should be revealed in the coming days.

We are looking forward to new product releases from a whopping 12 brands. Apple and Samsung are the only major companies that might not debut new phones. Though the latter may introduce certain already announced handsets in newer markets.

These forthcoming devices will be spread across different price segments. Most of the phones on the list are being launched ahead of the 618 shopping festival in China, which annually occurs during mid to late June.

That does not mean there won’t be any global releases. In fact, we will be witnessing the debut of some of the most anticipated smartphones of 2023.

With that out of the way, let’s go through all the handouts that are about to launch in May.

Upcoming Smartphones in May 2023

Poco F5 Series

The Poco F5 series will be unveiled on May 9 at 8 PM GMT+8. The lineup will include two devices, namely Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro.

The standard and pro variants will be rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo and Redmi K60, respectively. They will be even sold in original Redmi colors instead of the usual Poco color schemes.

Just like the last Poco F Pro model (Poco F2 Pro), the Poco F5 Pro will not be sold in India. The vanilla F5 will come with 256GB as standard and is tipped to cost below ₹30,000 in India and $500 in other regions.

Realme 11 Series

The Realme 11 series is scheduled to launch in China on May 10 at 4 PM GMT+8. The lineup is said to consist of three handsets, such as Realme 11, Realme 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro Plus.

However, the brand has been only teasing the ‘Pro+’ variant. This version will not only have a leather back but also an OIS-assisted 200MP main camera and a curved display. It will be powered by the newly announced MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset.

These phones are also tipped to release in India this month. But we don’t have a date for it so far.

Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a

The 2023 edition of Google I/O will begin on May 10. The search giant is expected to take wraps off the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a during the opening keynote of its developer conference, which will begin at 10 AM PT.

The Pixel Fold will be the company’s first foldable smartphone. The water-resistant foldable will feature a 7.6-inch horizontal foldable display and a 5.8-inch external screen. It is said to cost around $1,700.

On the other hand, the Pixel 7a will be the seventh-gen affordable Pixel A series handset. It will offer several upgrades over Pixel 6a, like a 90Hz display, Tensor G2 chip, and OIS-assisted 64MP primary camera, and more.

Sony Xperia 1 V

The Sony Xperia 1 V is set to launch on May 11 at 6 AM CEST. Unfortunately, not much is known about this upcoming flagship phone from the Japanese electronics giant.

Rumors say that it will arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 4K 120Hz OLED display, a 12MP (wide) + 12MP (periscope) + 48MP (ultra-wide) triple camera system, a shutter button, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The device may or may not be accompanied by Xperia 5 V and Xperia 10 V.

Motorola Razr 2023 Series and Edge 40

Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to unveil its new generation Razr clamshell foldables and an Edge series flagship smartphone either by the end of May or early June.

For the first time, the revived Razr lineup will have two models in a single generation. They are said to be called Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra. The latter will have the largest cover screen on a clamshell foldable handset to date.

Whereas, the Edge 40 will be a toned-down version of Edge 40 Pro with some interesting features. It will come with a leather back, water resistance, a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chip, a 144Hz OLED display, a 50MP primary camera, a 4,400mAh battery, 68W wired charging, and 15W wireless charging.

Honor 90 Series

The Honor 90 series is tipped to launch in May, however, its release could be delayed until June. The successor of the Honor 80 series is rumored to bring upgrades in the camera and performance departments.

The higher-end model in the lineup is said to arrive with specs, such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, a 1.5K resolution curved display with high-frequency PWM, and a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KH3 camera.

More or less, the top model will be almost the same as the Honor 80 Pro that was released in late November 2022.

iQOO Neo 8 Series

The iQOO Neo 8 series is anticipated to make its debut in China in May. There will be a standard and a pro variant. The iQOO Neo 8 Pro will be the first pro model in the Neo series.

As far as specs are concerned, the vanilla and Pro versions will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus chipsets, respectively. Both will sport a 120Hz OLED display with a fingerprint sensor underneath it.

The duo will arrive with a 50MP main camera but the sensors will be different; Sony IMX866V on pro and Sony IMX766V on regular. The pro version will also come with faster LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Realme Narzo N53

The Realme Narzo N53 is tipped to launch in India in May. It will be a 4G-only handset like the recently released Realme Narzo N55.

We only have details on the device’s memory configurations, colors, and possible price range for now. It is said to start under ₹13,000 and will be available in two memory variants (4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB) and two colors (Feather Black and Feather Gold).

Tecno Camon 20 Series

The Tecno Camon 20 series could release in May. The lineup is said to include devices, such as Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, and Camon 20 Premier 5G. As their names suggest, the first two handsets will be limited to 4G, while the last one will have support for 5G connectivity.

These phones will arrive with a unique rear design. The vanilla, pro, and premier variants will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85, Helio G99, and Dimensity 1200 chipsets, respectively.

The premier model will come with a better set of features, like a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 108MP primary camera with sensor-shift OIS, and up to 512GB storage.

Infinix Note 30 Series

The Infinix Note 30 series is anticipated to launch in May. Four devices are expected in the lineup, namely Infinix Note 30 5G, Infinix Note 30 VIP, Inifnix Note 30 Pro, and Infinix Note 30i.

The first two models will be 5G-enabled powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 and yet-to-be-announced Dimensity 8050 chips, respectively, Whereas, the other two handsets will be limited to 4G connectivity featuring MediaTek’s Helio G99 and Helio G85, respectively.

The VIO variant will arrive with features, such as a 108MP main camera, 256GB storage, speakers tuned by JBL, a 5,000mAh battery, and 68W fast charging.

Lava Agni 2 5G

Lava Agni 2 5G is expected to release in India in May. The brand has officially teased its arrival and we even know a few details about it.

The phone is tipped to cost below ₹25,000. It is said to come with a 120Hz AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, a 50MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 44W fast charging.

Vivo S17 Series

The Vivo S17 series is anticipated to debut in China in May. The lineup will include three phones, namely Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro, and Vivo S17e.

The Pro variant is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimenisty 8200 chipset, just like the Vivo S16 Pro. But the newer model will come with a 12MP zoom camera for portraits.

Whereas, the vanilla Vivo S17 and Vivo S17e will house a Snapdragon 778G/782G and Dimensity 7200 chips, respectively. All three models will carry support for 80W fast charging and sport OLED displays with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Vivo Y78 5G and Vivo Y36

The Vivo Y78 5G and Vivo 36 are expected to launch in May. The former will make its debut in China, whereas the latter will be introduced in India.

The Y78 5G will arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, a 50MP main camera, and a 6.64-inch FHD+ display (LCD). On the other hand, the Vivo Y36 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, a 5,000mAh battery, and 44W fast charging.

The Y78 5G is expected to cost around ¥1500 or lower, while the Y36 is tipped to be priced below ₹20,000.

Oppo Reno 10 Series

Oppo‘s popular premium min-range Reno series is due to get an update soon. The brand is rumored to soon launch the Oppo Reno 10 series in China with the Reno 10 Pro+ as the top-end of the lineup. Ahead of the launch, an alleged render of the device has leaked online revealing its design.

The Reno 10 Pro+ is expected to pack a 4,700mAh battery with 100W charging. It is unlikely to support wireless charging. It will run on Android 13 OS and ColorOS 13.1.

On the front, it will feature a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 selfie camera. The back panel of the device will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera. For a better photography experience, the device will be equipped with the company’s MariSilicon X NPU.

OPPO is expected to announce the Reno 10 series of smartphones in May or June in China. The lineup is expected to include three models: the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the name of the chip that will power the Reno 10 Pro+.

According to DCS, the Reno 10 Pro+ will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The same chip is present under the hood of the Reno 9 Pro+, which debuted in November 2022 in China. Initial reports about the Find X6 series claimed that the vanilla Find X6 will feature the SD8+G1, but it was eventually cancelled. Instead of it, the company launched the Dimensity 9200-powered Find X6. It appears that a tweaked version of the cancelled Find X6 may debut as the Reno 10 Pro+ in the Chinese market.

Previous reports have claimed that the Reno 10 Pro+ will come equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 front-facing camera. Shown above is the alleged schematic of the Reno 10 Pro Plus, which was leaked in December last year.

The device’s back camera will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be coupled with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera with 2x optical zoom.

The Reno 10 Pro Plus may house a 4,700mAh battery that may support 80W wired charging. It may arrive with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset will come preinstalled with ColorOS 13.1-based Android 13 OS. At present, there is no word on the price of the device. For security, it will have an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Other reports say that the Reno 10 Pro will probably have the Dimensity 8200 chipset, while the Reno 10 might have a Snapdragon 7-series chipset.

Chinese smartphone maker, OPPO is gearing up to launch Reno 10 series, likely in May 2023. Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has once again leaked valuable information about the upcoming series. The tipster recently shared schematics of two phones that are expected to be part of the Reno 10 lineup.

The leaked schematics belong to OPPO PHW110 and PHU110, and they reveal a lot about the upcoming phones. According to DCS, the first device has a 6.7-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, while the second one has a 6.74-inch screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. Both phones feature OLED panels with curved edges and a centrally positioned punch-hole.

The two phones also have a similar rear design, with an elliptical-shaped camera module housing three cameras and a pill-shaped LED flash. Interestingly, both devices are equipped with a MariSilicon X chip, hinting that they could be Reno 10 Pro models instead of the vanilla Reno 10.

There is one major difference between the rear designs of both phones. The first device seems to have a telephoto camera with a 2x optical zoom, while the second one has a periscope zoom. These phones may eventually launch as Reno 10 Pro and 10 Pro+ in the market, respectively.

There are rumors that the PHW110 may feature the Dimensity 8200 chipset, while the PHU110 could come with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. However, these details are not confirmed yet.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a schematic of what appears to be an upcoming Oppo smartphone. Yesterday, he leaked the specifications of the alleged Reno 10 Pro+. Hence, the schematic that he shared today gives the first look at the possible design of the Reno 10 Pro+.

In the image shared by DCS, the purported Reno 10 Pro+ can be seen sporting a centred punch-hole display with slim bezels. The top bezel of the phone has an earpiece, its left side is fitted with volume buttons, and on the right is the power key.

The oval-shaped camera island is available on the rear shell of the phone. A squarish periscope zoom lens sits beneath the top two cameras. The camera module also has a dual-LED flash unit and “Powered by MariSilicon X” branding.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ specifications (rumored)

It is speculated that the alleged Reno 10 Pro+ has the PHU110 model number. The rear camera system of the device is said to comprise a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and an unspecified periscope camera, which is likely to offer 2x optical zoom.

Its OLED panel is expected to offer a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. Since it does not seem to be a flagship phone, it appears that he may not be talking about the Find X6 series. Leaked information that surfaced in November claimed that the Reno 10 Pro+ will be arriving with a periscope zoom camera that will offer 2x optical zoom. Hence, there is a possibility that he could be talking about the Reno 10 Pro+.

OPPO Reno 9 series is expected to break cover by the end of November. While the company is yet to confirm its launch date, a new leak that has surfaced on Weibo, courtesy of TechGoing suggests a new feature that will be arriving on the Reno 10 series.  

In April 2019, OPPO unveiled the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom. It came with an impressive all-screen display design featuring a unique pop-up camera module. However, the major attraction of the device was that it came equipped with a periscope zoom camera, which supported 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom.

Later that year, the company unveiled the regular OPPO Reno 2. Since then, it has launched several generations of Reno phones. However, none of them has featured a periscope zoom camera. It appears that the company could be finally bringing back the feature on the Reno 10 series.

In the above-shown screengrab, DCS can be seen asking his fans, “Do you want a periscope for the Reno series super cup?” He added that the current Reno 9 series will not feature a periscope zoom camera.

According to another tipster, the periscope camera feature will return to the Reno series on the Reno 10 lineup, which is expected to launch by mid-2023. To be precise, the periscope camera will be exclusively available on the “super-cup” (machine translation) variant. Here, the super-cup hints at the highest model in the series, which could be the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+. As per a previous Weibo by the same tipster, it appears that the Reno 10 Pro+ will offer 2x optical zoom. At present, there is no information available about the Reno 10 series.
