The news arrives from a leakster that shared the information on his Twitter handle.

Notably, Arun Maini (AKA Mrwhosetheboss), a popular tech Youtuber, had shared an image of a smartphone with dual front facing cameras on his official Twitter page. This was retweeted by Mukul Sharma, a leakster from India, who suggested that the device in the image is the Oppo Reno 3 Pro.

Furthermore, the leakster’s post also talked about the image resolution of both the selfie shooters. The primary lens is a 44 megapixel sensor while the secondary camera is a 2 megapixel lens. Although the rumor has not been confirmed officially from Oppo or any other source, the Reno 3 series for India is expected to be unveiled soon. So, the device may just arrive with the dual punch hole selfie camera module.

As of right now, finer details regarding the smartphone are still unknown. However, a few speculations can be made based on previous coverage of the Oppo Reno 3 series. This is the same chipset that is powering the newly launched Redmi K30.

Oppo has already confirmed that the body thickness of the Pro model is 7.7mm while the body thickness of the Oppo Reno 3 is 7.96mm.
Renders and leaked images of the phone reveal that the company has opted for a punch-hole display that curves towards the edges. Both the smartphones will have an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. The only bit of new information we’ve received the device’s weight which is rated as 17_g, giving us a rough idea with completely spilling the beans.

As has already been previously revealed, the device is equipped with a 7.7mm chassis with a glass rear. It will be a dual-mode 5G smartphone that could be powered by the Snapdragon 735 5G chipset.

EDITOR’S PICK: OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G render showing full front design appear

We also know that the Oppo Reno 3 will be the first device to feature the company’s latest ColorOS 7. The display punch-hole could be housing a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The rear shell of the phone may house a quad camera setup with a 60-megapixel main lens. The device may come with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native storage.

Hopefully, the company will also unveil the Reno 3 smartphone alongside the Reno 3 Pro later this month. Most of the 5G phones that are available in China are flagship devices right now, so the influx of lower cost 5G devices like the Reno 3 series, Vivo X30 series, Redmi K30 lineup and Realme X50 powered by mid-range chipsets will finally bring some much needed value and competition to the 5G segment.

The OPPO Reno 3 will be a 5G phone with support for NSA and SA 5G networks. The details about the phone’s specifications are currently unknown, but last month, it was reported that OPPO and Qualcomm will announce a dual-band 5G phone in December. As at then, the name of the phone wasn’t known but now it has been revealed it will launch as the Reno 3.

The Reno 3 will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7250 processor which will have an integrated 5G modem. However, we have a feeling the phone will not go on sale until next year.

Qualcomm has a summit scheduled for early December where it is expected to announce new processors including the SM7250. It most likely already shipped samples of the chipset to manufacturers and those samples will be used for the Reno 3 launch. However, commercial quantities won’t be available until next year. So while the Reno 3 may launch next month, folks will probably not get their hands on a unit until January.

Today’s launch was for the Chinese unveiling of ColorOS 7. Next week, OPPO will have a global unveiling in India.

According to the latest round of rumors, it appears OPPO is gearing up to introduce another smartphone called OPPO Reno 3. The details regarding price and specifications of the alleged phone have surfaced on Weibo.

OPPO Reno 3 Specifications and Price (Rumored)

The OPPO Reno 3 allegedly flaunts a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display carries support for 90Hz refresh rate and it is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone is said to be fitted with a quad-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 60-megapixel primary lens, with 8-megapixel, 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The selfie camera uses a 32-megapixel sensor. There is no confirmation on whether it features a shark-fin pop-up camera module like the Reno2. It could be the first OPPO phone driven by the upcoming Snapdragon 735 chipset. The Reno2 is fueled by Snapdragon 730G SoC.

The device may come with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and is likely to release in China in two variants with 128 GB and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Powering the OPPO Reno 3 is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging. The smartphone is 5G-compliant. The device is allegedly priced at 3,299 Yuan (~$470) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant and 3,599 Yuan (~$513) for the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model.

OPPO had launched the OPPO Reno2 smartphone in China in the previous month. Hence, it seems unlikely that the company will be launching the Reno 3 phone so soon in the home market. Probably, it may go official late December or in the beginning months of 2020.

Readers are advised to take the aforesaid information with a pinch of salt, as OPPO is yet to officially confirm any of these specifications or pricing.

In related news, OPPO is reportedly working on a flagship phone called OPPO Reno S for India. It seems to be a rebadged version of the Reno Ace for the country with a different primary camera. The Reno Ace has a 48-megapixel primary lens on its rear whereas the Reno S is expected to come with a 64-megapixel main lens on its back. It could be coming flagship features such as Snapdragon 855+ and 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge technology.
