<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to an official announcement </span><a href="https://www.oppo.cn/thread-398198117-1"><span style="font-weight: 400">post</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> on OPPO Community, the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 open beta registrations for the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno4-se/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OPPO Reno4 SE 5G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> in China will be live from today (February 17) until tomorrow (February 18) for the first batch.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The post says that applications will be reviewed within 5 working days. Further, the beta build will be released for selected participants via OTA within 3 working days from the declaration of the result. Applicants who didn’t get selected can try their luck in the next batch of recruitment whenever that happens.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Having said that, in order to register, the participant’s unit should be on firmware version C.19 or C.20. If their phone is on the required firmware, they need to go to Settings &gt; Software Update &gt; Gear Icon &gt; Apple for Beta Version &gt; Update Beta Version and follow the on-screen instructions.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OPPO/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OPPO</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is yet to reveal when this handset will get access to the stable update. We believe it will be out around a month later.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">OPPO Reno4 SE debuted with ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10. Hence, ColorOS 12 based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is its last major software update as OPPO has </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/05/oppo-software-update-policy-3-android-4-years-security-update/"><span style="font-weight: 400">promised</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> only two Android updates for the OPPO Reno series.</span></p>
