<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to official </span><a href="https://communityin.oppo.com/thread?id=1090634118305939462"><span style="font-weight: 400;">announcement</span></a> <a href="https://communityin.oppo.com/thread?id=1090638752743424001"><span style="font-weight: 400;">posts</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> on Oppo Community, the Chinese handset maker opened Android 12 beta registrations for the Oppo F21 Pro 5G and the Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G on June 17. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the unaware, these two are basically the same phones with different names. The F series is sold in India, while the Reno Z series is available in Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Per the plan, </span><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Oppo/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is supposed to open registrations on June 23. However, the firm has been recruiting testers six days ahead of schedule. The registration window will only close on June 24, and therefore, there&#8217;s still time for interested people to enroll in the program.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But the brand has only allocated 5000 seats each for </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/04/12/oppo-f21-pro-launch-india-64mp-camera-orbit-lights/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">F21 Pro 5G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in India and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno7-z-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reno 7 Z 5G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in Indonesia. In order to join the initiative, users will have to go to </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Settings &gt; Software Update &gt; Gear Icon &gt; Apply Beta Version &gt; Update Beta version</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and follow the on-screen instructions.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Applicants who get selected will receive the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Android 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> beta build via OTA update. As far as stable release is concerned, it should be out in a month or two. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is worth noting that the 4G variant of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-f21-pro-4g/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo F21 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> (aka </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-7/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo Reno 7 4G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">), which was released alongside this phone actually boots Android 12-based </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ColorOS-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">ColorOS 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. But for some reason, the 5G model debuted with Android 11.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anyway, we will update you once Oppo starts rolling out the Android 12 stable update for the Oppo F21 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno 7 5G in the near future.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If these renders are legit, then for the first time, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OPPO/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> would be releasing the same device as two generations of smartphones. We are as confused as you are. Probably, the Reno 8 Lite 5G will launch in the markets where the Reno 7 Lite 5G did not.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At present, it’s not known when this so-called Oppo Reno 8 Lite 5G will be made official. Anyway, we are looking forward to learning about its availability and price.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Recently, we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/04/22/oppo-f21-pro-vs-oppo-f21-pro-5g-which-one-should-you-buy/">reviewed</a> the Indian version of this handset (Oppo F21 Pro 5G) by comparing it with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-f21-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo F21 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> (aka </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-7/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo Reno 7 Lite</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">). Do check it out to learn whether it is a good deal, at least in India.</span></p>
