Oppo Packs $1000 Flagship Features into $150 Smartphones

According to a recent report by Digital Chat Station, Oppo is working on a new phone with IP68 water and dust resistance certification. Currently, there isn’t much information available about the device. However, we know the affordable Oppo smartphone will come with a curved screen and a 5000 mAh battery.

The price point is particularly exciting, as the company aims to target the budget-friendly category with a price tag expected to be below $150 (1000 Yuan). Unfortunately, we have limited information on this phone right now. DCS hasn’t leaked a release date. However, the IP68 certification hints at an imminent launch. As someone living in a country with economic challenges, I’m glad to see these features on affordable models.

Also as a tech editor, this kind of innovation excites me. Other brands, like Xiaomi, offer impressive mid-range features, but none have matched this level of affordability yet. A few hours ago, the club released an official press release confirming this partnership. From this season, OPPO will be the official mobile partner to the club for a total of three years.

While the terms of the partnership have not been mentioned, it is said that OPPO will be present at all of the club events, TV advertising and other fan activities. So, the next time you see FC Barcelona event, expect OPPO to be there.

Every Chinese manufacturer seems to be obsessed with bezelless display. We have already seen the Subor S3 bezelless phone, and now mainstream manufacturers like ZTE, LeTV and even OPPO seems to be working on such a device. While LeTV’s One Pro flagship isn’t really bezelless, earlier today we saw the Nubia Z9 in pictures which confirmed the borderless screen. Even the upcoming OPPO model too is expected to be truly bezelless, and today another set of images have leaked showing off the R7 smartphone in full glory.

The images leaked today clearly shows that the display is bezel free. Yes, we can find no borders at all, as the display smoothly blends into the sides. The display is actually curved at the sides, and this could be a visual trick to give it a bezelless look. But whatever the technology used, the display does look a whole lot vibrant and beautiful.

You will three capacitive buttons at the bottom, and front camera, sensors and receiver mesh on top of the display. From what we can see, this is the same phone that was showcased in a video a few weeks back. So, this could indeed be the real OPPO bezelless phone.

However, unlike ZTE Nubia Z9, we still have no confirmation of the model name (R7?) or even the existence of such a device officially. So, its best to wait for some more concrete details before we go ahead and get excited.

Yesterday, we came to know that OPPO was working on a unique smartphone. OPPO’s Bezelless phone was leaked in pictures which showed off the beautiful display on the device.

Now, the same phone has made an appearance in a video, showing off the true bezelless design. So, for those who were worried that the images were fake, this should be a good indication of the device being real. Of course, even with a video appearance, we can’t really confirm that this is an OPPO device, since we don’t see any branding on the phone.

The video shows off the device in action and from what we can see, everything was pretty smooth and responsive. We were worried that the bezelless design may hinder everyday operations, but it didn’t affect the experience, at least in the video. In fact, because of almost zero side bezels, the company could have reduced the width of the device, which will further help in handling it even with just one hand.

In case you are wondering, this is the same phone that was leaked yesterday, In fact, it seems that the video was taken around the same time as those images, since the background is exactly the same.

We also have to agree that the almost zero bezels makes the display stand out nicely. Watching anything on the device will definitely be a treat on that beautiful screen. Also, OPPO is known to incorporate high-end specs and display panels on their devices, so expect only high-end hardware (therefore performance) on the phone.

We sincerely hope OPPO releases such a device before the end of the year. Judging from the recent leaks, it looks like OPPO’s patented display tech may change the way smartphones displays are designed.

OPPO has been release their new smartphone, OPPO R3 and the OPPO N1 Mini on June 10th 2014, and now we want to show you the nice aspecs from OPPO N1 Mini smartphone. This is the mini version from the previous OPPO N1, this new Mini version phone has 5 ich screen size but also has 206 degree of rotating camera and 4G network capability. The phone is offers with 2,699 yuan price tag or about $433 USD.

OPPO N1 Mini smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 quad-core processor which running at 1.6GHz clock-speed, sports with 2GB of  RAM and 16GB of ROM capacity. Running with Android 4.3 customized ColorOS 1.4 system interface, support for 2G/3G/4G LTE networks. The phone is now available officially at OPPO website and QQ space.

The N1 Mini is offers with three color body covers, the white, blue and yellow to choose.

In the top of the front panel body, there is speaker phone, there is nothing to show on the bottom of the screen, the three soft button ishiding without the light. IN general, the body design is similar with the previous OPPO N1 smartphone.

OPPO has already release the new OPPO R3 smartphone recently, the phone is packs with 4G network connectivity. The new OPPO R3 is only has 6.33 mm body thickness, this becoming the thinnest 4G Android smartphone on the market. And now we want to show yu some aspect that available in this phone. OPPO R3 is the one of flagship smartphone that comes from OPPO, the phone has slim body and using the metal body material. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 400 and support with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM, the phone is also coes with 5 inch 720 screen display and equipped with 2,420mAh battery capacity.

The new OPPO R3 frame is using metal material, while the outside the front that using glass material, the side and back cover are metal. The phone is look more nice and rigid and strong touch. There is TF expansion slot and power/lock screen button in the side body.

The back or rear area has divided in three parts, the top, middle and the bottom, as you can see on the image above, the top area has the camera and LED flash light, there is nothing on the middle area, while on the bottom area we can find the speakerphone .

According to the latest news from foreign media, the upgraded version of the OPPO R1, the R1S, has passed the United States FCC checks. The R1S, with LTE network support, will be hitting the market in the United States.

Meanwhile, in China, the R1S will hit the market on the 25th this month, and will be OPPO’s second phone with 4G network support, after the Find 7. Priced at CNY$2,498 (USD$400), and will come with a portable charger and Bluetooth speaker as a value gift pack.

As an upgraded model, the R1S continues the R1’s simple and stylist design. The back cover adds some blue sapphires as decoration, and creates an amazing mirror effect. The thickness of the phone is 7.1mm, very stylish.

OPPO R1S comes with a 5-inch 720p display, and enforced with Corning Gorilla glass, making the phone sturdier. It carries a 1.6GHz main Quadcomm quad-core processor, with 1GB RAM and 16 GB ROM.
