Digital Chat Station reveals that the OPPO Watch 4 will sport an OLED display and a Snapdragon W5+BES2700 dual-chip. The release details for the OPPO Pad3 tablet and Enco X3 earphones are still pending. For comparison, the OPPO Watch 4 Pro’s starting price is 2,199 yuan. This smartwatch boasts a stainless steel middle frame, ceramic case, and metal brushed texture on the body’s side.

It comes in two colors: Midnight Black (fluororubber strap) and Dawn Brown (genuine leather strap). The OPPO Watch4 Pro features a 1.91-inch 378×496 LTPO full-curvature flexible screen with a C-shaped 3D glass cover, supporting 326ppi, peak brightness of 1000nit, Lingxi gesture control, negative one-screen function expansion, and global AOD watch face display.

Powered by Snapdragon W5 and Hengxuan 2700, it packs 2GB of RAM and 200+ deep scene optimizations. With a 570mAh battery, it lasts 5 days in full smart mode and 14 days in light smart mode. Oppo entered the wearable category with the launch of the Oppo Watch in 2020. The company’s first wearable was made available globally. The Chinese version shipped with ColorOS Watch based on Android, whereas the international model came with a better chip and Wear OS. The successor Oppo Watch 2 with dual-OS and dual-chipset was released in 2021 and remained exclusive to China. Now, according to a reliable leaker, the firm is gearing up to launch its third-gen smartwatch.

Earlier today, Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to reveal that Oppo is set to launch the Oppo Watch 3 soon. The tipster also disclosed that the company will be debuting the Oppo Band 2.

As per him, the Oppo Watch 3 will arrive in three variants, just like the Oppo Watch 2. These models will carry model numbers OWW211, OWW212, and OWW213.

Unfortunately, he does not say how these versions will differ from each other. Perhaps, two of them may have a 42mm dial (Bluetooth-only, eSIM) and one of them could feature a 46mm dial (eSIM) like the last year’s model.

But the leaker does mention some of the features of this upcoming smartwatch. He says that the wearable will come with a high screen-to-body ratio and a micro-curved square display. It will be available in four colors, such as black, silver, dark gray, and light gold.

On the other hand, the OPPO Band 2 bearing model number OBB211 will be sold in black and blue color options. The second-gen Oppo band will arrive with NFC, SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen level monitoring, and more.

Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have regarding Oppo’s upcoming wearables as of now. We are looking forward to learning more about them in the coming days before their official launch.

Ahead of its scheduled February 24 unveiling of the Oppo Find X5 series, there are strong indications that the Chinese tech company may have a few other products lined up for unveiling as well. A new seemingly official teaser points in the direction of multiple products being released on February 24.

The teaser is coming from Oppo’s official Weibo account and it suggests a pair of wireless buds, a new smartwatch, and a tablet will be birthed. Indeed, there has been speculation since November 2021 about a possible Oppo tablet and the teaser could be the clearest indication yet of the impending launch of the product.

The buds are probably the Enco X2 TWS that surfaced via a leak in January, while not much is known about the watch hitherto. It could however possibly be a successor to the Oppo Watch 2 which was launched in 2021.

While February 24 is barely a week away, we expect to see more details about the three products in the coming days. For now, the Oppo Find X5 series is the main product but the scenario remains fluid as it could be upended by one of these other products – at least in terms of hype.

We are naturally referring to the Meizu Watch and the OPPO Watch, two wearables bundled with very smart features and advanced specifications. OPPO Watch is sold all around the globe, while Meizu Watch is only present in the Chinese market.

OPPO Watch vs Meizu Watch

Design

As mentioned above, Meizu Watch and OPPO Watch come with the same form factor. Given their square design and their borderless displays, they look very similar to the latest Apple Watch. The OPPO Watch comes in two variants: a smaller 41 mm version which is more recommended for women and a 46 mm which is actually better for men and it also provides a bigger display as well as a longer battery life.

The Meizu Watch only comes in one single version which sits in the middle between OPPO Watch 46 mm and 41 mm. The OPPO Watch is built with a glass front, an aluminum or stainless steel frame depending on the variant, and a ceramic/sapphire or plastic back. With the Meizu Watch, you get a ceramic back and an aluminum frame. Both the smart watches are waterproof, but the OPPO Watch offers better water resistance up to 5 ATM.

Note that the OPPO Watch is slightly thinner than Meizu Watch and it has two physical keys on the side instead of just one. Both the wearable support the eSIM technology which allows using cellular data without having a physical SIM inside and without using the phone’s connection.

Display

OPPO Watch and Meizu Watch come with stunning AMOLED displays showing vibrant colors and very deep blacks. The 46 mm version of the OPPO Watch has a slightly higher resolution and a wider panel with a diagonal of 1.91 inches, as well as complete DCI P3 coverage. The Meizu Watch is more compact than the 46 mm version with its 1.78-inch display, but the display looks inferior. Meizu Watch and the 41 mm of the OPPO Watch are protected by Gorilla Glass, while the 46 mm version has different protection for the glass called Schott Glass. Note that OPPO Watch has a higher screen-to-body ratio, which means narrower bezels around the display.

Specs & Software

The Meizu Watch is equipped with a more recent and powerful SoC: the Snapdragon Wear 4100 is actually a big improvement over the chip found on the OPPO Watch. The OPPO smart watch is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 in the global market and by the even weaker Snapdragon Wear 2500 in the Chinese market. The memory configurations are the same with one gig of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage for music and more.

Both the wearables have a speaker and a microphone for calls and vocal commands. Further, both run a modified version of Android for wearables: the Flyme UI and the ColorOS Watch, respectively. The ColorOS Watch looks a bit more advanced than Flyme at first glance. In the global market, OPPO Watch ditches the ColorOS Watch in favor of Wear OS which includes Google services, apps, and Google Assistant.

Sensors and connectivity

With the Meizu Watch, you actually get more sensors and sport modes than OPPO Watch. It has a SpO2 sensor, unlike its rival, which allows monitoring the blood oxygen level. Further, it features more than 10 sport modes, while the OPPO wearable has just 5 modes you can choose from. For the rest, they look similar if we exclude the user interface. They both feature GPS, an accurate heart rate sensor, WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.2.

Battery

The Meizu Watch and the 46 mm version of the OPPO Watch come with the same battery capacity: 430 mAh. However, the Meizu Watch should last a bit more because its chip is more efficient (it is built at 12 nm instead of the 28 nm of the Snapdragon Wear 3100 and 2500) and the display is smaller (1.78 inches vs 1.91 inches). The 41 mm version of the first OPPO smart watch is a bit disappointing when it comes to battery life and it is not able to compete with the Meizu Watch.

Price

The prices of the Meizu Watch and OPPO Watch 46 mm in China are similar: the former costs about €190/$225 at the actual change, while the latter costs €205/$245. If you live in China, Meizu Watch is a better option because of its better chipset and SpO2 sensor, but for the global market, OPPO Watch is a better choice because it runs Wear OS and includes Google services.

Last year, the OPPO Watch went official as OPPO’s first smartwatch. In China, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 powered smartwatch came with ColorOS, whereas as the global markets received it with WearOS by Google. An XDA forum member has unearthed some specifications and features of the upcoming OPPO Watch 2 through its firmware files.

The leak reveals that the OPPO Watch 2 will be equipped with Snapdragon Wear 4100, which is mentioned as “msm8937_32go” in the build property file. The global edition of the watch is likely to run on WearOS, but its variant in China seems to be running on an OS based on Android 8.1.

The original OPPO Watch came with 8 GB of native storage. However, it has been revealed through a build property file that the Watch 2 has a built-in storage of 16 GB. The leak also reveals that the smartwatch will offer features like new watch faces, a stress detection function, and a new OPPO Relax app.

It appears that the OPPO Watch 2 will continue to sport a square-shaped dial like the predecessor model. It may come with e-SIM support for LTE connectivity. The launch date of the OPPO Watch 2 is yet to be confirmed In related news, OPPO is reportedly working on another smartwatch called the OPPO Watch Free. At present, nothing is known about the specs of this device.

Unfortunately, the firm did not say when it will be unveiling this wearable. However, it confirmed that this upcoming OPPO Watch will have ‘almost no shortcomings’. Lastly, this smartwatch will feature a chip called Apollo4s, co-developed by Ambiq and OPPO.

Although OPPO is yet to reveal the official name of this smartwatch, a new trademark filing by the company suggests that this watch could launch as OPPO Watch Free. OPPO filed this trademark with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) earlier this week. Anyway, this is just a wild guess, and therefore, we request you consider this information with a pinch of salt.

OPPO, the China-based smartphone maker has also entered into the wearable segment and has launched a few products, including a smartwatch and a fitness tracker. The devices pair with the company’s HeyTap Health application for management.

So far, the app was only available for Android smartphones but now the company has announced the launch of the HeyTap Health app for the iOS platform. For Apple devices, it comes with support for OPPO Watch and Band Style.

The application can be paired with both the devices and used to adjust the settings as well as synchronize the data and view them. They can also synchronize the information with Apple‘s own Health after authorization.

Prior to the launch of this app, users of the OPPO Watch wearable device had the option of synchronizing the data of the smartwatch with Android and iOS devices using Google’s Wear OS application given that the device is running Wear OS.

The China-based company is yet to offer support for the wireless earphones on the iOS version of the HeyTap Health app which is already available for Android users. With the support, iOS users with wireless earphones from OPPO have to stick with the default options as they can’t customize settings.

On the other hand, Huawei Watch Fit is the most original one with its rectangle-shaped display. But the silver medal when it comes to the look goes to the Apple Watch SE: it is similar to the OPPO Watch, but it has a flat display. Someone may prefer the Watch SE due to the presence of a crown instead of physical keys: it is a matter of tastes. In each case, you get a waterproof design with water resistance up to 5 ATM.

Display

Besides getting a very elegant design, with the OPPO Watch, you also get an amazing display. In its 46 mm version, the smartwatch comes with a wide 1.91-inch panel with 100 percent DCI P3 coverage and a high resolution of 402 x 476 pixels. Even the Apple Watch SE has a great display with its 1000 nits peak brightness and Retina LTPO OLED technology. Further, it supports 3D Touch with sensors that can recognize the pressure level of your finger. Huawei Watch Fit has an inferior display to the OPPO Watch and the  Watch SE in terms of image quality, but it has a very interesting rectangle-shaped form factor that improves usability.

Specs & Software

The OPPO Watch has the most powerful chipset and 1 GB of RAM, while the Apple Watch SE has the highest amount of internal storage (32 GB). Huawei Watch Fit has the weakest hardware department and it does not need powerful hardware because it comes with a proprietary OS. OPPO Watch runs Wear OS based on Android, while Watch SE has watchOS. In terms of features, OPPO Watch and Apple Watch SE are actually better: the former is better if paired with Android devices, while the latter is better with iPhones. OPPO Watch and Apple Watch SE have several preinstalled applications and you can download more through the official stores. Huawei Watch Fit has a proprietary OS and it is inferior to its rivals in terms of features, but it supports more sports mode and it is a better smartwatch for sports lovers. If sport is not your only priority, then you should choose either OPPO Watch or Apple Watch SE.

Sensors and connectivity

As mentioned above, Huawei Watch Fit is a better smartwatch for sports not only for its higher amount of sports modes but also because it has the SpO2 sensor. On the other hand, OPPO Watch and Apple Watch SE offer very accurate measurements, but they lack SpO2 tracking. With all of these smartwatches, you get a GPS module, but only the Apple Watch SE and OPPO Watch have cellular connectivity. Note that cellular connectivity is optional on the Watch SE and the OPPO Watch: you have to buy a more expensive variant in order to get it.

Battery

Huawei Watch Fit is the king of battery life as it lasts up to 10 days on a single charge. With the OPPO Watch and the Apple Watch SE, you can only get one day of battery life.

Price

OPPO Watch 41 mm is priced at €249/$300 in the global market (the price varies depending on the market), while Apple Watch SE costs €309/$279 in its base 40 mm variant. For the Huawei Watch Fit, you need just €129,90/$150. For everything but sports, OPPO Watch and Apple Watch SE are better wearable devices than Huawei Watch Fit. The former has a better display and design, while the latter has a more mature operating system.

OPPO says when ColorOS Watch 1.5 arrives for the OPPO Watch, users will be able to track more activities as it brings eight new sports modes including free training, elliptical, mountain climbing, and rowing (rowing machine).

The new update also brings support for more than 13 new apps that include Tencent News, Baidu Maps, and NetEase Cloud Music. Another feature that the update brings is more watch faces. Owners of the OPPO Watch can now choose from 50 new watch faces.

There is also a new SOS mode that users can activate which automatically dials the 120 emergency line and also sends important details such as the wearer’s location.

OPPO says ColorOS Watch 1.5 will begin rolling out to the OPPO Watch on October 24. We do not know if the OPPO Watch RX which is scheduled to launch on November 1 will run the new operating system out of the box or will have a different one.

This is the same price as the standard Find X2 8/256GB variant. The limited-edition smartphone is up for sale on the OPPO website starting today(October 19) from 21:00 China Time. However, on checking the website, the device seems to be out of stock as we write this article.

Similarly, the OPPO Watch League of Legends Limited Edition 46mm variant is priced at the same 1999 yuan($299) as the standard one. Also, do note that this version doesn’t have the ECG built-in. This limited edition watch is open for pre-orders on the OPPO website from October 19(today) and will go officially on sale on sale from November 1.

On the rear, we can see a nebula inspiration. Nebula is an interstellar cloud of dust, Hydrogen, Helium, and ionized gases. It has a bluish-green accent with a few yellow colors as well. Similarly, the Find X2 has a bluish-green color with yellow accents at the borders. We also have a yellow ring around the camera, league of legends, and S10 2020 World Championship logo on the rear.

You get a special box packaging with an X-shaped case, a customized SIM ejector, earphones, charger with “Take over”, and logo imprinted on them. You also get a commemorative card that says, “one of 3000”. This indicates OPPO might actually have made only 3000 units of the limited edition. The outer ring of the squircle watch dial, buttons, and the upper strap is light Green whereas the lower strap with “Akali” written is dark Green. The upper strap has OPPO branding, and “Too Good, Too Fast”. The box and its contents are also customized with straps, chargers, etc. The UI here is also heavily customized with Akali watch face with date, and time, charging animation, and icons.

OPPO has today announced that the company has entered into a partnership with telecom operator Orange (France Telecom) to launch an eSIM variant of the OPPO Watch in the European market.

Not just the OPPO Watch, more products from the company will also be adopted for the Orange network, including two new 5G smartphones — Reno 4Z 5G and Reno 4 Pro 5G, along with a 4G smartphone named OPPO A72.

OPPO has now established a partnership with major telecom operators in the European market, including Orange, Vodafone, and Deutsche Telekom.

The OPPO Watch features a large 1.91-inch 3D curved flexible AMOLED display with 326 PPI and 100% DCP-P3 color gamut. The company says that it opted for the square design because it feels squares are more efficient at displaying information.

The device comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 platform and paired with Apollo 3 co-processor. The wearable runs ColorOS-based Watch OS, which is a custom skin based on the Android operating system.

According to leaks from @数码闲聊站 and @科技喵 on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, the company is gearing up for the launch of the OPPO Find X2 League of Legends S10 Limited Edition and two OPPO Watch League of Legends limited editions as well. The Chinese tech giant has yet to confirm the news, although, the official promotional image was also leaked prior to the launch, giving us a first look at the new special variants of the devices.

The OPPO Watch ECG edition is a variant of the 46mm stainless steel model that is capable of taking an electrocardiogram (ECG) reading.

You cannot just slam ECG into a watch and launch it, not unless you have received approval from the relevant agencies in the countries where it will be sold. This explains why the OPPO Watch didn’t have ECG when it was announced even though it was a feature that was teased before the watch was launched.

OPPO has now announced that the OPPO Watch ECG version will get a global release on Thursday, September 24. The announcement was made on Weibo by one of OPPO’s official accounts.

The post said the device has been certified as a Class II medical device by the National Food and Drug Administration. The watch has also been approved by the US FDA.

We expect the OPPO Watch ECG version will have similar specs to the 46mm stainless steel version sold in China. This means it should have a stainless steel case, ceramic shell, and sapphire glass.

The OPPO Watch has a flexible AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 (Snapdragon Wear 2500 for the Chinese version) and a low-power chip called the Apollo 3. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. There is 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and NFC. It also has a 430mAh battery with support for Watch VOOC Flash Charge.

The stainless steel version of the watch which is the most expensive one is ¥2499 (~$367). We presume the ECG version will have a price tag not less than ¥2999 or $399 when it launches.

According to a LetsGoDigital report, the Oppo smartwatch in the patent features a rounded display built on a rectangular housing. Unfortunately, it is still unknown if the company is planning on actually launching such a wearable gadget or whether it is just covering all bases.

Three variations of the smartwatch were patented, with the first featuring a rounded 3D curved display on a rectangular housing while others sported a more square shaped flat display. This might be for a more affordable variant. OPPO made its entry into the smartwatch market this year with the OPPO Watch. It launched in China in March and was originally expected to make its global debut in India on July 31. Surprisingly, the smartwatch has now been announced first in Germany.

The square-faced watch comes with Google apps out of the box such as Google Pay and Google Assistant according to TizenHelp.com. This means it is running a different firmware from the version sold in China which has AliPay and the Breeno Voice Assistant. The Chinese version of the smartwatch runs ColorOS Watch which is built on Android.

The OPPO Watch sold in Germany is the version with the 1.6-inch screen (41mm version). The display is a curved AMOLED panel and it has a 360 x 360 resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2500 and the low-power Apollo 3 chip. There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

The watch has Bluetooth 4.2, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and an eSIM with support for 4G networks. It is water-resistant up to 3 ATM and packs a 300mAh battery that will last up to 14 days in low-power mode.

The OPPO Watch can track several physical activities including running, swimming, and cycling. It has sleep monitoring, a heart rate sensor, ECG, a sedentary reminder, and menstrual cycle tracking.

OPPO is expected to launch its Reno4 series this month in India. A listing on Flipkart has revealed the launch date in addition to a leak that says the OPPO Watch will also tag along.

The teenage leaker, Ishan Agarwal, had initially revealed in a tweet and a post in collaboration with Indian blog, PriceBaba, that the Reno4 Pro and OPPO Watch will be unveiled on July 30. However, a Flipkart landing page says it will actually come a day later on July 31. The smartwatch should also launch on the same day.

The page includes images of the phone and they show that the Reno4 Pro will have a punch-hole at the top left of its curved display. OPPO has tagged the display “3D Borderless Sense Screen”.

The OPPO Watch will be available in 41mm and 46mm variants and may have a price tag of about INR 15,000 (~$200) and INR 20,000 (~$267) respectively. It will also go on sale in August.

Oppo is expected to launch Reno 4 Pro in the second last week of July in India. According to tech influencers, it will be a different device than the one launched in China. Now, a leak reveals that the company will be also launching Oppo Watch alongside this handset in the country.

Oppo debuted its first smartwatch called Oppo Watch in China in the month of March. A few days later, Brian Shen, the Vice President of the company said that this wearable will be launching in Western Europe later this year.

Late last month, the smartwatch got FCC certification suggesting an imminent launch even in the US. However, if the new exclusive leak by MySmartPrice is true, then the Oppo Watch will first launch in India after China and not Europe or US as expected.

Since the wearable is already official, we know its entire specifications. But for international markets, it might come with some specific changes, especially in the software department.

For those unaware, Oppo Watch runs a forked version of AOSP called ColorOS Watch in its home country. For global markets like India and the rest, it may arrive with Wear OS but do note that this is just a speculation from our end.

Oppo Watch is the brand’s first-ever smartwatch. It launched earlier this year in its home country China. A few days after its release, the brand’s Vice President Brian Shen teased it to debut in Western Europe later this year. Now, after months from his tweet, the Oppo Watch finally visits FCC suggesting an imminent launch in global markets.

The FCC listing of Oppo Watch 46mm does not reveal anything except for its model number OW19W12. Anyway, everything about this wearable is already known as it is on sale in China for months. Also, since only the larger variant has been certified, we are not sure if the smaller 41mm will make it to international markets.

Interestingly, as GSMArena notes, the description of the FCC listing reads “Purchase on Amazon: OPPO Watch” with a link which takes to Amazon US’ search result page for “Oppo Watch”. But as of now, there’s no product listing for it, however, this somewhat confirms its availability in the US.

Having said that, although the hardware of Oppo Watch is expected to be same as the Chinese variant, the software is a mystery. For the unaware, in its home country, Oppo uses ColorOS Watch, a fork based on AOSP. But we hope its wearable to run Android Wear platform in global markets.

Oppo launched its first-ever smartwatch called Oppo Watch in March. It runs ColorOS Watch, an Android fork rather than proper Wear OS. Now, after three months from its release, the wearable is receiving a new system update, which brings WeChat replies, support for more boarding passes, access control cards and more.

Though Oppo Watch is a great piece of hardware, it lacks some of the common functionalities found on the competitors. Thankfully, the company is slowly adding them via software updates.

The new system update for the wearable comes with build number A.38 and it requires Oppo Health companion app v2.6.2 or above to utilize all the newly added features.

The main highlight of this update is the support for WeChat replies directly from the smartwatch. Previously, users were limited to view messages as notifications but now they can respond via Xunfei voice input. 

This feature is only available on smartphones running Android 6.0 or above with Android Auto app installed. That means it cannot be used with Apple iPhones.

Another major addition is the support for access control cards and more boarding passes for local transportation services in China. Also, the company promises to publish 10 new useful applications in the app store by the end of June.

Last but not least, the latest system update for Oppo Watch also brings 10 new watch faces and automatic fitness tracking feature.

Oppo Ace2 EVA Edition has just been officially launched. The flagship smartphone has been released alongside 4 cool themed accessories, which are based around the iconic Anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The Oppo Ace2 EVA Edition is basically identical to the original Ace2, but with a unique aesthetical design based around the anime. The Oppo Enco W31 TWS earbuds will be available for 399 Yuan (roughly $55) while the Oppo Watch and Air VOOC Wireless Charger will go for 2,199 Yuan and 299 Yuan (roughly $307 and $41) respectively. Amazfit GTR – Best Battery Life

When it comes to smartwatches and fitness trackers, Amazfit has become a sort of household name. The manufacturer (Huami) is not only known for its Amazfit-branded products which also includes earbuds and running shoes but is also known as the contractor for Xiaomi’s Mi Band fitness trackers. 

The Amazfit GTR is the first of a new series of smartwatches from the manufacturer. It has a lot going for it from its Gorilla Glass protected AMOLED display to its aluminum/stainless steel/titanium bezel to its support for 12 different activities including elliptical, swimming, and free training. However, top of it all is its 24-day battery life (up to 74 days in basic watch mode) which puts that of the Huawei Watch GT 2 to shame.

The GTR is available in two sizes – 47mm and 42mm – and also comes in several color variants. It is also pretty affordable with a price tag that starts at ¥799 (~$113). However, it sells for a bit higher from third-party retailers.

Amazfit GTS – An Amazfit GTR in a different body

Don’t like round watches, the Amazfit GTS has got you covered with its Super-Retina-grade square AMOLED display. Even with its minimalist design, the GTS is a stylish watch and packs several of the same features as the GTR. It has GPS, NFC, up to 12 activity tracking, music playback control, a heart rate sensor, and is waterproof up to 50 meters. It also has an amazing battery life – up to 46 days in basic watch mode and 14 days of regular use (NFC, notifications, GPS on for 30 minutes each day, sleep monitoring, and heart rate monitoring on).

The Amazfit GTS launched with a more expensive price tag than the GTR and can be purchased for $160 on Giztop.

OPPO Watch – Premium but familiar design

OPPO joined the smartwatch-makers league this year with the OPPO Watch. The smartwatch’s design is greatly-inspired by Apple’s own watch which might make it unpopular among folks who do not want people calling their smartwatch a clone. Design aside, the OPPO Watch is actually a pretty capable smartwatch.

The 46mm version of the watch has a 1.91-inch flexible hyperboloid AMOLED display. Unlike several of the watches on this list, you can download apps onto the OPPO Watch, thanks to its Android-based ColorOS Watch system.

Alongside all the tracking and measuring you will expect of a smartwatch, the OPPO Watch can also make and receive calls even without being paired to a phone and that is because it has an eSIM and cellular connectivity. You can choose to have a different phone number for the watch or have it share one with your phone.

With respect to battery life, the OPPO Watch can last up to 21 days in power saver mode (or basic watch mode). Smart Mode which is when you use all the features including as a phone and connected to the internet, its battery life is 40 hours. Thankfully, the watch supports Watch VOOC fast charge, allowing you to charge it from empty to 50% in just 17 minutes.

The OPPO Watch starts at ¥1499 (~$212) for the 41mm aluminum version and goes up to ¥2499 (~$354) for the Stainless Steel 46mm version.

Mi Watch – A 4G Smartwatch with a familiar design

The Mi Watch launched before the OPPO Watch above and got its own fair share of  “Apple Watch-clone” remarks. We’ll leave it to you to decide which one is more of a clone. When you finally accept the design, you will realize it actually packs some really interesting features.

This watch has an eSIM, 4G, a Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, and a custom-version of Wear OS called MIUI for Watch. There is support for app downloads, NFC payments, and a built-in smart assistant (XiaoAI). The Mi Watch also boasts a 2-day battery life.

The Mi Watch has a starting price of ¥1299 (~$185).

Xiaomi Watch Color – A less-expensive Amazfit GTR (47mm) but without the battery life

The Xiaomi Watch Color can be termed as a less-expensive alternative to the Amazfit GTR. It has a similar design and even shares some of its specs but skips on some features such as battery life (2-weeks for normal use and 22 days in basic watch mode ) and the number of activities it can track (down to 10). However, you do get NFC, GPS+GLONASS, heart-rate monitoring, and sleep tracking. One feature it has that the Amazfit GTR doesn’t is a built-in smart assistant (XiaoAI) though one that users outside China will find useless.

The Xiaomi Watch Color has an MSRP of ¥799 (~$113) but sells up north of $130 from 3rd-party retailers.

Haylou Watch Solar – Budget with a big B

You are probably wondering why a watch that is yet to go on sale is on this list. Yes, that is because we have faith in the Haylou Watch Solar based on what its sibling, the Haylou LS01, offers.

The Halou Solar is the cheapest watch on this list with a price tag that is a third of the second-cheapest watch on the list. A low-price tag isn’t the only thing this watch has got to offer. The watch has a 1.28-inch display (TFT not AMOLED) that Haylou claims is bright even under direct sunlight. While they have skipped on the type of display, the rest of the features are great.

You get a metal frame (surprisingly not plastic) and 22mm silicone rubber straps (not sure about the quality of the straps, you can purchase replacement bands made from various other materials).

The Haylou Solar can track a total of 12 physical activities including gymnastics, basketball, soccer, yoga, and rowing. It also has 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, music playback control, and support for notification alerts. Haylou tops it off with a 30-day battery life in basic watch mode (2 weeks with 24-hour heart rate tracking).

The Haylou Solar has an MSRP of ¥149 (~$21) but expect it to sell for between $30 – $35 when it goes on sale. Even at that, it sure is still one of the cheapest smartwatches you can buy.

On March 6, OPPO had held an unveil event to announce the Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Find X2 Pro Lamborghini Edition and OPPO Watch. While the vanilla and Pro models were made available for purchase soon after launch in the home market, the Lamborghini Edition was slated to be available for purchase from March 24. The Chinese firm did not confirm the availability of the OPPO Watch at its launch. As promised, the company commences sales of the Find X2 Pro Lamborghini Edition from today along with the OPPO Watch.

The OPPO Watch listing on its official online store shows that the retailer is currently selling the 41mm and 46mm aluminum editions. The 46mm stainless edition is yet not available for buying. The 41mm OPPO Watch is priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$212) and its 46mm edition costs 1,999 Yuan (~$282). The smartwatch comes in Black and Pink colors. The device is also available through Tmall, Jingdong Mall and Suning. The smartwatch comes with a free Italian calf leather strap.

OPPO Find X2 Pro Lamborghini Edition

The Find X2 Pro Lamborghini Edition which is inspired from the limited edition Aventador SVJ Roadster car. It comes in a special package that includes couple of accessories such as earbuds, protective case, charging adapter and more. These items along with the handset carry Lamborghini branding.

Oppo has been making smartphones for years now but the company introduced its first smartwatch last week. Brian Shen, the company’s Vice President and President of Global Marketing has been lately sharing glimpses of the brand’s upcoming devices on his Twitter profile. Following his regular routine, he revealed the Oppo Watch to be launched globally in Western Europe sometime later this year. Unfortunately, he did not provide any further information and merely asked his followers to stay tuned.

Oppo watch is the brand’s most ambitious product in recent times. It comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 platform paired with Apollo 3 co-processor. The wearable runs ColorOS Watch OS, a custom skin based on unspecified Android. The device sports a 1.6-inch (41mm) / 1.91-inch (46mm) curved AMOLED display and even features eSIM functionality. Other specs of the Oppo Watch include water resistance up to 5 ATM, heart rate monitor, ECG, 8GB internal storage, built-in GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and a 300 mAh / 430 mAh battery with support for VOOC fast charging.

Chinese tech company UMIDIGI has revealed via a tweet posted recently that it will launch a new smartwatch which has as its biggest feature a SpO2 monitor. The smartwatch will be called UMIDIGI UFit and isn’t just a smartwatch but a fitness and health tracker. The product will be launched on March 16.

In the face of the Coronavirus outbreak, the focus on health and fitness has increased. The blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) level is a vital indicator of a person’s health. This tracking the SpO2 level is also a new wearable tech metric getting adopted by more manufacturers. It might sound complicated but SpO2 can reveal conditions. For example, coronavirus and sleep apnea may cause low blood oxygen saturation.

The SpO2 monitor is already in some big-name wearables: Fitbit and Garmin already have an SpO2 sensor on most of their devices, and Huawei has jumped in too. UMIDIGI UFit is expected to also have a SpO2 sensor but it would be much more affordable, in line with UMIDIGI’s market strategy.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the device, but there are a few things we can speculate from the teaser image. Besides the SpO2 monitoring function, it apparently has a curved screen and 2.5D glass. And there’s a side button to control the watch. We won’t have to wait long to learn more about the smartwatch since it goes official on March 16.

Smartwatches are the new craze among Chinese smartphone manufacturers and after Xiaomi unveiled its first-ever smartwatch in China last year, OPPO has joined the party with its brand new OPPO Watch. The company’s new smartwatch comes off as a close competitor to the Apple Watch featuring a premium 3D curved design in multiple sizes like 41mm and 46mm. Similar to the Mi Watch, the OPPO Watch also supports eSIM which makes it an independent smartwatch that can be used to make calls.

The OPPO Watch features a large 1.91-inch 3D curved flexible AMOLED display with 326 PPI and 100% DCP-P3 color gamut. OPPO went with a square design because it feels squares are more efficient at displaying information. The company is offering 28 watch faces with a special AI mode for further customizations.

There are three major variants of the watch, a 44mm version with a 3D ceramic back and aluminum alloy frame, a 46mm variant with the same design, and another 46mm variant with a stainless steel body. Like most smartwatch makers, OPPO revealed that its watch comes with an anti-allergy fluoroelastomer strap but there are leather strap options as well.

The OPPO Watch features a quad-optic heart rate sensor which keeps you updated on your heart’s health and can also detect anomalies. Other modes standard to a smartwatch are also present on the new watch but there are special modes for beginners like ‘easy 5km run’ and ‘5-minute easy fitness’ mode. The watch is waterproof up to 50m in water, so you can wear it while swimming as well.

Just like the Xiaomi Mi Watch, OPPO’s new watch also comes with eSIM support. This allows you to make and receive calls on the device as well as independently listen to music via your Bluetooth headphones.

As for the battery life, the OPPO Watch features dual-chip architecture. So it comes with a Snapdragon chip as well as the Apollo3 low-power chip. The company says that this two-chip design allows for longer battery life. Essentially, the Apollo3 chip will be used to power less-intensive tasks on the watch, thereby saving battery life. The OPPO Watch will last for up to 40 hours in Smart Mode and up to 21 days in Low Power mode. The company’s VOOC charging tech is also incorporated into this watch. So you can fill up your watch from 1% to 50% in just 17 minutes.

OPPO had recently released a poster on Weibo which confirmed that the OPPO Watch will be available in two color edition such as blue and gold. Both color variants were seen sporting a silicone strap. Rumors have it that the company may also the OPPO Watch in leather strap versions.

There are two flat hardware keys on the right spine of the OPPO Watch. These buttons may help in scrolling across the different features of the smartwatch. It remains to be seen whether the device comes with ColorOS based Android Wear OS. The smartwatch will offer users with voice call function. This suggests that the device will carry support for eSIM.

With only one day remaining for the launch, it appears that the rest of specs and features of the OPPO Watch will be confirmed through tomorrow’s unveil event. It is likely that the company may offer the OPPO Watch with some sort of offer for the buyers the Find X2 series.

Oppo has officially announced certain details regarding its highly anticipated upcoming launches. The Chinese company’s Find X2 smartphone will debut on 6th March 2020 alongside its IoT offering, Oppo Watch, which is confirmed to sport a 1.91 inch display.

According to the image post shared online, the Oppo Watch appears to arrive with a hyperboloid 3D curved screen. This was the same type of display used on the original Find X and also makes a return on the wearable. Earlier today (3rd March 2020), the brand revealed a poster that showcased the smartwatch in more detail and also revealed the size of its screen.

The 1.91 inch colored screen as seen in the image is also illustrated with a waterfall. This clearly hints at its 3D curved display which will be likely be one of its highlighting features. Furthermore, other finer details regarding the gadget was also revealed. It is confirmed to arrive with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut screen with a high PPi (Pixels Per inch) of 326.

Other details that have been discerned are its color offerings. It is confirmed to arrive in 3 colors, including white, yellow and blue. The Oppo Watch will also feature a built in eSIM module and support at least three major operators. This is all that is known so far, and we will have to wait for an official announcement for additional specifications and features. OPPO will be announcing the Find X2 series of smartphones on March 6. The OPPO Watch which is the first smartwatch from the company will be also unveiled at the same event. A poster that has been released by the company confirms some of the key features of the device.

The OPPO Watch can be seen in two color variants in the new poster. The gold variant has a cream-colored silicon strap whereas the blue model has a black silicon strap. The smartwatch flaunts a square-shaped display that curves towards the edges. The right spine of the device has two flat hardware buttons.

The image also confirms that the OPPO Watch support voice call function. Hence, there is a possibility that that it may come with support for e-SIM. There are no details available on the specifications of the OPPO Watch yet.  Hopefully, some leaks will appear ahead of the launch to reveal some of its other functionalities. Also, it yet to be confirmed whether the device is running on Android Wear OS.

In related news, a recent leak has revealed key differences between the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. The Find X2 will be arriving with differing features like 8 GB of RAM, 4,200mAh battery, Z-axis liner motor, 13-megapixel telephoto + 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 movie lens + ultrawide 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 triple camera setup  and the Pro model will have 12 GB of RAM, 4,260mAh battery, X-axis linear motor and 13-megapixel periscope telephoto lens + 48-megapixel Sony IMX586+ 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 triple camera setup.

The OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro will be coming with plenty of common features like quad HD+ 6.7-inch S-AMOLED display that offers quad HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 865 SoC powers both phones. Other common features of both phones include Sony IMX616 32-megapixel selfie camera, 65W Super Flash Charge 2.0, ColorOS 7.1 based Android 10 OS, stereo speakers and NFC.

OPPO is working on the launch of its first smartwatch. The official name of the product is not known yet. However, the OPPO Watch is expected to go official alongside the OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro smartphones on March 6. The smartwatch is now up for reservations in China through its OPPO smartwatch app. A new image of the OPPO Watch is now doing rounds on Weibo. It showcases the marvelous curved screen of the device.

The OPPO Watch is rumored to be equipped with a hyperboloid OLED display that curves towards the edges. The square-shaped design of the OPPO Watch makes it appear like the Apple Watch. The screen of the OPPO Watch shows the Settings screen with the clock at the right corner. Multifunction Button, Battery, Password and More options are available in the Settings page.

The new image does give a good look at the strap of the OPPO Watch. It appears to be a silicone strap. The device is expected to arrive in leather strap options too. The right edge of the device has two flat buttons. These buttons may probably users to control the UI and features of the OPPO Watch.

At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the OPPO Watch. It remains to be seen whether the device will run on Android Wear platform. Some reports have claimed that it could be featuring a heart rate monitor with ECG/EKG.

OPPO Find X2 series that will go official is also up for reservations in China. The company is now building hype around the device.
