One of BlackBerry’s licensees is India’s Optiemus Infracom. Last month, renowned leaker, Evan Blass, tweeted a photo of an upcoming phone from Optiemus called the BlackBerry Ghost. Today, he has followed it up by a new leak of another phone called the BlackBerry Ghost Pro.

Remember BlackBerry Ghost? Of course you do (and if not, just expand this thread). Well here's another upcoming handset from Indian licensee Optiemus to haunt you: the BlackBerry Ghost Pro. pic.twitter.com/1TcyhE3CsL

Just like the BlackBerry Ghost, the Ghost Pro is scarce on details. Nothing is practically known about its specs and how it will differ from the non-pro version. However, a comparison of both leaked renders reveals a few differences of some sort.

Judging from the picture of the BlackBerry Ghost, it will come with a “bezel-less” design. So we are practically looking at yet another 18:9 phone but BlackBerry’s first, hitting the market soon. The Ghost Pro on the other hand looks like it is keeping the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio seeing as it appears to be wider and shorter.

It also looks thicker, which points at a bigger battery. Another difference is the BlackBerry branding on the chin, which is absent in the regular variant.

Apart from the branding in front, the other differences may not turn out as discussed above as there is a possibility it is just the angle of the photos playing a trick on the eyes.

Nevertheless, we are itching for more details on the BlackBerry Ghost and the BlackBerry Ghost Pro, which by the way are probably codenames but cool nonetheless.

Just like Nokia licensed its brand name to HMD Global, Blackberry also did the same but not to one but three licensees. TCL may be the most popular of the three since it releases its own BlackBerry phones globally but there are two others. There is BB Merah Putih for Indonesia and Optiemus Infracom in India.

Of the three licensees, only Optiemus Infracom hasn’t released its own BlackBerry phone yet. According to a new leak by Evan Blass (@evleaks) that will be changing soon.

The leaker shared a render of a bezel-less phone called the BlackBerry Ghost. The premium Android phone from Optiemus is said to be “coming soon to India”.

The image doesn’t reveal much about the BlackBerry Ghost. The phone is completely covered in glass in front and has a metal frame. There is a selfie camera on the left of the top bezel and the earpiece sits in the middle.

We can also make out a SIM tray and an antenna line on the left side of the phone. There is no front-mounted fingerprint scanner which means it is most likely on the rear but might also be on the side.

There is a lot we do not know about the BlackBerry Ghost. Up until today, the internet never even heard of it but we are pretty excited to see what BlackBerry (or Optiemus) comes up with.

Optiemus Infracom today launched the BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black in India. The company is one of those given a license to release smartphones under the BlackBerry name. A teaser hinting at the Canadian brand’s return to the Indian market was released last week and it has done so with a bang.

You may be wondering why the name is so long. Apart from the fact that this version is completely black unlike the International variant that is a mixture of silver and black, the specs are also different.

The BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage instead of 3GB and 32GB ROM. It also has dual SIM support making it the second dual SIM Blackberry phone apart from the Indonesian-exclusive BlackBerry Aurora.

The rest of the specs are the same. You get a 4.5-inch touch screen display, Snapdragon 625 processor and 12MP rear camera. Front camera is 8MP and there is a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The device uses a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. So you either use two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card. There is dual band WiFi, NFC, FM Radio and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The BlackBerry KEYone may run Android 7.1.1 but it is one of the most secure android smartphones on earth. It comes with BlackBerry’s security apps like DTEK by BlackBerry, Password keeper and a number of BlackBerry Productivity apps.

The BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black will be available on the 8th of August as an Amazon India Exclusive. It will sell for Rs. 39,990 (∼$624) but will come with a number of offers.
