But this weekend, we got our first glimpse at what could the Xiaomi Mix Flip.

The leaked image revealed the phone’s cover screen and a section above it housing the dual camera module flanked by two LED flashes. Notably, the module bears the Leica logo, suggesting a partnership between the two companies for the Mix Flip’s camera system.

Huawei and OrangePi launches Raspberry Pi alternative with mystery CPU and AI chip

Huawei and OrangePi have joined forces to create the OrangePi Kunpeng Pro, a development board aimed at developers, students, and even consumers.

It’s a single-board computer, much like the Raspberry Pi, that comes with a mysterious quad-core 64-bit ARM processor and a dedicated AI processor.

The specifics of the processor remain under wraps and Huawei hasn’t even revealed the chip’s name. However, a report by Tom’s Hardware suggests it is based on a custom Huawei Kunpeng CPU design.

The OrangePi Kunpeng Pro runs on the openEuler operating system and comes pre-installed with the openGauss database. It also includes a suite of software development tools, internet applications, and productivity software, making it a versatile platform for various projects.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Kunpeng Pro is its use of a custom Huawei Kunpeng CPU paired with an AI Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA).

It’s unclear whether these processors are separate chiplets or integrated onto a single die. Regardless, this configuration is a new approach for Huawei’s Kunpeng chip designs.

The AI processor boasts 8 TOPS of computing power, placing it far behind competitors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite (45 TOPS) and Apple M4 (38 TOPS) in terms of raw performance. However, for developers and students working on AI projects, the Kunpeng Pro should be a decent option for its price.

Connectivity options on the Kunpeng Pro include two HDMI ports for connecting 4K displays, a Type-C power interface, Wi-Fi 5, and Gigabit Ethernet. Currently, the board is only available through Chinese retailers with a starting price of 1,076 yuan or approximately $148.
