<p>The month of March was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/11/upcoming-smartphones-march-2023/">full of smartphone launches</a>. We witnessed the release of many most-anticipated handsets like the Oppo Find X6 series, Huawei P60 series, Redmi Note Turbo, and more.</p>

<p>April won’t be different either. Multiple big-name brands have already confirmed to debut several high-profile devices.</p>

<p>For example, Vivo will be launching its new-gen foldables, including its first clamshell foldable. Also, Xiaomi will release its new Ultra smartphone, while Asus will debut its latest ROG gaming smartphone.</p>

<p>Apart from the aforementioned premium handsets, we are also looking forward to mid-rangers and budget models, like the much-awaited flagship-killer Poco F5. All in all, there will be new phone releases this month spread across different price segments.</p>

<p>With that out of the way, let’s have a look at these handsets one by one.</p>

<p>The handsets will look similar to their predecessors. They will most likely cost about the same as well.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Osom Solana Saga</strong></h3>

<p>The Osom Solana Saga is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/26/solana-mobile-saga-launch/">finally launching</a> on April 13 at 10 AM Pacific Time. This device was initially announced almost a year ago in June 2022 as a Web3 smartphone.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="680" height="665" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OSOM-Solana-Saga-1.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM Solana Saga" class="wp-image-491902" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OSOM-Solana-Saga-1.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OSOM-Solana-Saga-1-300x293.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OSOM-Solana-Saga-1-429x420.jpg 429w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-470026" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Xiaomi-12S-Ultra-review-11.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 chipset. It will house an improved Leica-powered quad-camera system. The setup will include a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 primary sensor and three 50MP Sony IMX858 sensors for ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope.</p>

<p>It will come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Finally, it will boot MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and will carry support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip</strong></h3>

<p>The Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip are expected to launch this month. The former will go official as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 foldable, while the latter is the company’s first clamshell foldable.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="Vivo X Fold 2" class="wp-image-527823" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Vivo-X-Fold-2-live-image.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The X Fold 2 is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/06/vivo-x-fold-2-specifications-leaked/">said to come</a> with an 8.03-inch 120Hz main display and a 6.03-inch 120Hz secondary screen. It will sport a Zeiss-powered triple camera setup head by a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor. These cameras will use Vivo V2 ISP for image processing.</p>

<p>On the other hand, the X Flip will feature a large cover display on its back. But the screen <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/03/vivo-x-flip-live-image/">appears to be inconvenient</a>. This device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip instead.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Poco F5 Series</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Poco-F5/">Poco F5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Poco-F5-Pro/">Poco F5 Pro</a> might release by the end of April. These handsets will go official as rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo and Redmi K60.</p>

<p>Therefore, the vanilla model will house the new Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset, whereas the pro variant will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. But both will arrive with an OIS-assisted 64MP main camera, MIUI 14 based on Android 13, and 67W wired charging support.</p>

<p>Since both are rebadged versions of different phone lineups, their design will differ. Thus, the regular variant will sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike the pro.</p>

<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tags/solana">Solana</a> Mobile, a Solana Labs company, has announced the release of Saga, a premium Android phone for web3 fans. Saga is a high-end mobile device that includes the Solana Mobile Stack, a set of tools and features that allow users to engage with Solana dApps, trade tokens, mint NFTs, and play on-chain games.</p>

<p>Many of you will be hearing about the Solana smartphone startup for the first time. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/24/oosm-ov1-solana-saga-smartphone-pre-order/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">It&#8217;s a new smartphone brand founded by some of the former Essential employees.</a> It was announced a few months ago that the company will release its first smartphone later this year. It was originally set to launch under the name &#8220;OSOM,&#8221; but the brand later changed their minds and confirmed a new name, Solana.</p>

<p>Solana Mobile teased the Saga release date on Twitter, saying &#8220;The wait is nearly over. Saga will be released soon.&#8221; The business also released a video highlighting the look and functionality of Saga, which features a 6.67-inch OLED display, 512 GB storage, 12 GB RAM, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, and an integrated security element.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="880" height="865" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga.jpg?x44794" alt="solana saga" class="wp-image-525235" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga.jpg 880w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga-300x295.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga-768x755.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga-696x684.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Solana-Saga-427x420.jpg 427w" sizes="(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></figure></div>

<p>Saga was initially unveiled in June 2022 at an event in New York, where Solana Mobile also announced the Solana Mobile Stack, an Android framework that allows developers to construct sophisticated mobile experiences for Solana wallets and apps, as well as a &#8220;Secure Element&#8221; for private key management.</p>

<p>The Solana dApp Shop, a curated collection of the top Solana dApps in one place, is another feature of Saga. Users may discover the most exciting projects in the Solana ecosystem, use their favourite dApps on the go, and gain access to exclusive mobile features from popular dApps such as Magic Eden, StepN, Jupiter, and others.</p>

<p>Saga, according to Solana Mobile, is &#8220;the next chapter&#8221; in the crypto tale and &#8220;sets a new standard for the web3 experience on mobile.&#8221; The company anticipates that bringing crypto to mobile would result in increased adoption, better comprehension, and more opportunity for both users and developers.</p>

Today, the company has revealed all of the specification details of the smartphone along with official images.</p>

It was already confirmed a few months ago that the company will be launching its first smartphone later this year.</p>
<p>The phone, which was called <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/07/osom-ov1-smartphone-details-revealed/">OSOM OV1</a>, has now been renamed to Solana Saga. Not just that, the company has also revealed that it is becoming a web3-focused Android handset.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-466903 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone.png?x44794" alt="Solana Saga aka OSOM OV1" width="1500" height="843" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone.png 1500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-1024x575.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-696x391.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-1068x600.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Solana-Saga-Smartphone-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p>
<p>The rebranded of the smartphone also drops the name OSOM and instead the device is now being launched by Solana Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Solana Labs.</p>
<p>Earlier, the company had revealed that the phone will be launched in the second half of this year but now the launch has been pushed back to &#8220;early 2023&#8221; but there&#8217;s no exact timeline available for its availability.</p>
<p>However, the company has opened up pre-orders for the Solana Saga. It features a 6.67-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED display</a>. The device will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.</p>
<p>It will have Solana Mobile Stack (SMS), which utilizes security features baked into the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> chip. It is said to be &#8220;a framework for Android allowing developers to create rich mobile experiences for wallets and apps on Solana.&#8221;</p>
<p>The phone will feature a 50MP <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sony">Sony</a> IMX766 primary camera sensor, coupled with a 12MP Sony IMX373 ultra-wide lens. On the front side, there will be a 16MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.</p>
<p>It comes with support for features like Bluetooth 5.0 and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device will be powered by a 4,100mAh <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">battery</a> and come with wireless charging support. While the pricing is not yet known, the company is expected to price Solana Saga at around $1,000 even though the company was talking about pricing the OSOM OV1 smartphone well under $1,000.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="td-animation-stack-type0-2 aligncenter wp-image-448697 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1 " width="1080" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>Starting with one of the most interesting features, the device will come with a privacy-focused &#8220;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/11/osom-ov1-will-come-with-a-type-c-privacy-cable-and-privacy-centric-apps/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Secure Data Cable</a>&#8221; in the box. This cable will have a switch which can allow or restrict data transfer via the cable making it more secure to charge your device in public or by connecting it to a PC or laptop.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/07/osom-ov1-smartphone-details-revealed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">recent report</a> revealed that the smartphone will come with an OLED display panel, however, the resolution, refresh rate, and other display details are still under wraps. What we do know is that the device will have slim bezels, a small chin, and rounded edges, as seen in a recently teased image.</p>
<p>The smartphone will also come with privacy-focused apps preloaded like Brave browser, Signal, etc. It will run on an Android-based operating system and offer support for dual SIM with 5G ultra-wideband connectivity.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-432316 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1 featured" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-629x420.jpg 629w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Coming to the optics, the smartphone is tipped to feature a dual-camera setup on the back consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary lens. On the front , there will be a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.</p>

The device will be called the <a>OSOM OV1,</a> and its leaks have been all over the Internet. Now, the company took to Twitter to reveal its front panel and also confirm its unique privacy-centric Type-C <span class="red-underline" data-startindex="315" data-endindex="320" data-paragraphid="55">cable.</span></p>
<p>As per the company’s <a>tweet</a>, the OSOM OV1 will support a different kind of USB Type-C cable. It won’t just be another charging cable<span class="red-underline" data-startindex="456" data-endindex="456" data-paragraphid="55">,</span> rather, it will have a toggle that will let users switch between two modes – a mode to pass data and a power-only mode.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-448697 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1 " width="1080" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OSOM-OV1-display-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>It seems to basically offer what the software usually asks for when plugged into a computer. Instead of getting permission from the device, it appears to let users choose the USB options with this physical toggle.</p>
<p>Apart from the USB Type-C cable, the phone’s front design is also revealed. Although only the lower half of the portion is revealed, we get to see that it has a thin-bezel design featuring a modern aspect ratio. The device also appears to have some privacy-centric apps pre-installed. It comes loaded with the Brave browser, Signal, the camera app, and what looks like the company’s own Privacy app.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-440293 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>Other than this, the phone’s back panel and some specs have already been leaked. The OSOM OV1 will come with a stainless steel chassis, a Gorilla Glass Victus back panel, and a dual-camera system.</p>
<p>It will have a <span class="red-underline" data-startindex="1395" data-endindex="1399" data-paragraphid="55">48MP </span>+ <span class="red-underline" data-startindex="1402" data-endindex="1406" data-paragraphid="55">12MP </span>dual-rear camera system. <span class="blue-underline" data-startindex="1432" data-endindex="1475" data-paragraphid="55">On the front, it will equip a 16MP snapper. </span>The phone is said to have an OLED display, dual-SIM support, and 5G connectivity. As for the power, the device is expected to be powered by the <a>Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> flagship SoC.</p>

It is gearing up to launch its first smartphone in the market, dubbed as OSOM OV1, and ahead of the launch, some details about the device have surfaced online.</p>
<p>During the Mobile World Congress, the company&#8217;s founder and CEO Jason Keats <a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/osom-ov1-specs-stainless-steel-titainium-ceramic/">shared some details</a> with <em>Android Police</em> about the upcoming smartphone.</p>

<p>The OSOM OV1 will be made using high-quality materials that aren&#8217;t found in many smartphones, including stainless steel, titanium, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ceramic">ceramic</a>. It has also been revealed that the camera module and the power and volume keys will make use of titanium, while the mid-frame of the device will use stainless steel. The back of the smartphone will be made of zirconium ceramic.</p>
<p>Under the hood, the device is said to come powered by a chipset that is &#8220;based on the Snapdragon 8 series&#8221; but the exact processor model has not been confirmed yet. We expect it to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> or the upcoming &#8220;Plus&#8221; variant of it.</p>
<p>On the backside, the camera module on the device will include a dual-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary lens. On the front side, there will be a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.</p>
<p>The smartphone will feature an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED display</a> but details about the screen resolution, refresh rate, and others still remain unknown. It is known that the device will be running the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> operating system out-of-the-box. The Dual SIM smartphone will have support for 5G ultra-wideband connectivity.</p>
<p>As for the pricing, the OSOM OV1 is said to cost less than $1,000 when it goes official sometime in the second half of this year. It will come in four color options &#8212;  Solar Yellow, Borealis Green, Twilight Blue, and Dusk Purple. Earlier, the device was expected to launch at MWC but it is now <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/02/21/osom-ov1-smartphone-summer-launch/">said to launch</a> in Summer.</p>

<p>The OSOM OV1 smartphone was supposed to go official during <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mwc">Mobile World Congress</a> 2022 in Barcelona, Spain at the end of this year but the launch has been postponed. It is now expected to go official sometime in Summer.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-440293 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/OSOM-OV1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>As of now, nothing is known about the smartphone apart from the fact that the OSOM OV1 is focusing more on privacy. A poll by the company on LinkedIn a few weeks ago hinted at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/28/osom-ov1-could-come-in-four-colors-and-you-get-to-choose-it/">four new colors</a> &#8212; Solar Yellow, Borealis Green, Twilight Blue, and Dusk Purple.</p>
<p>It is not known how many colors from those fours will eventually make it to the device. The company had also shown the smartphone in Black and White colors last year.</p>
<p>For those who are unaware, OSOM is an acronym for &#8220;Out of sight, Out of mind&#8221; and the OV1 stands for OSOM Vault 1. As stated above, the company, founded by Jason Keats and Wolfgang W. Muller, has team members that worked on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/essential-phone/">Essential PH-1</a> or Phone 1.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/essential">Essential</a>, a company created by Android founder Andy Rubin, had launched its first smartphone dubbed as Essential One in 2017. The company was eventually shut down, just a couple of years after the launch of its first phone. Last year, Essential was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/acquisition">acquired</a> by Nothing, a company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei.</p>

Now, the brains behind Essential are back, this time as OSOM, to launch its privacy-centric phone called the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/osom-ov1">OSOM OV1</a>.</p>
<p>Previously, the company teased the OSOM OV1 and revealed the plans for the company. Now, the brand took it Twitter asking the audience about its color variants.</p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>In a tweet, the company shared the OV1 in four colorways &#8211; Solar Yellow, Borealis Green, Twilight Blue, and Dusk Purple. The company wants netizens to choose between four of these colors. We might end up seeing all of these colors once the phone arrives.</p>
<p>Regarding its specifications, there&#8217;s very little that we have learned so far. The smartphone will feature a triangular camera module at the rear holding two lenses. It also has a big LED flash alongside the lenses. It will be powered by a <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm chipset</a>, however, there&#8217;s no detail on the exact chipset.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-432316 " src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="OSOM OV1 featured" width="642" height="428" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured.jpg 1440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/OSOM-OV1-featured-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 642px) 100vw, 642px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, we&#8217;ll see the phone focusing on privacy and security. Having said that, it will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and will run on stock Android OS.</p>
<p>Apart from this, the phone will debut in Summer 2022, but we&#8217;ll see the device getting showcased at the Mobile World Congress(MWC) event next month. We are also hopeful to get to learn all of its specs and design as we come closer to the event.</p>
