<p>After slowly rolling out its next generation of HyperOS custom skin, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi </a>is now pushing a new OTA update for the HyperOS 3 launcher globally. This software upgrade aims to bring a series of optimizations and improvements to the Android 16 OS based UI, so here are all the details.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi Releases HyperOS 3 Launcher OTA Update Globally</h2>

<p>The Chinese tech giant&#8217;s latest global update for the HyperOS 3 arrives to bring improvements in performance and stability for its smartphones across the Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO brands. This update is dubbed RELEASE-6.01.02.1321-10302137, and it is currently rolling out in the global market and even the Chinese build of HyperOS. This release basically aims to improve the user experience of the HyperOS 3 launcher by making it smoother and faster.</p>

<p>In particular, these improvements are with app transitions, animations, and memory allocation. All of these aspects are seeing a notable upgrade, while tests are reporting quick app switching on devices powered by older chips like the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Helio series chipsets (Via <em><a href="https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-rolls-out-global-OTA-update-for-HyperOS-3-launcher.1156981.0.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NotebookCheck</a></em>). To recall, the HyperOS 3 update recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/30/hyperos-3-update-arrives-for-xiaomi-15-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">started rolling out with the Xiaomi 15</a> across the globe. </p>

<p>The brand also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/29/hyperos-3-update-now-rolling-out-to-more-xiaomi-devices/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">announced that it is expanding the list</a> of smartphones, tablets, and other devices getting this update, including models like the Redmi K80, Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED series, Xiaomi Watch S4 lineup, and more. Although, Xiaomi also confirmed that it is skipping the HyperOS 3.1 update for a number of other smartphones and tablets, which you can click <strong><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/05/xiaomi-is-skipping-the-hyperos-3-1-update-for-these-smartphones-tablets/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a></strong> to check out.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google </a>is apparently planning on making the time it takes to roll out OTA (Over the Air) updates for its Pixel series of smartphones shorter. A new report has revealed that the company is working on offering faster updates for its Pixel line.</p>

<p>The Search Engine tech giant has submitted new patches to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) gerrit to reduce the time it takes the Pixel users to install an update. But according to <em><a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/google-pixel-reduce-ota-installation-times-pixels/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android Police</a></em> and <a href="https://twitter.com/MishaalRahman/status/1598027798114930712" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>Mishaal Rahman</em></a>, the patches took just 10 minutes or around 43 percent off the time it usually required to install a 2.2GB OTA update on a Pixel 6 Pro. The patches also reduced the time it took to install a small update of 376MB size to 16 minutes from 22 minutes, which also marked a 27 percent reduction.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1000" height="558" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Google" class="wp-image-499871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1-768x429.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1-696x388.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Hero_Image_Thumbnail.max-1000x1000-1-753x420.jpg 753w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure></div>

<p>Google had first introduced Seamless Updates for Android with Android 7.0 Nougat back in 2016. The first smartphones to get this feature the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, and the Nexus 6P. To put things simply, Pixel phones install OTA updates in the background on an inactive part of the device. Meaning, you can still use the smartphone while till the time the installation is completed. After this, the user will be prompted to reboot their phones as the inactive partition with the update installed switches with the active partition. Now, the company has also reduced the amount of additional storage needed for Seamless Updates with Android 13.</p>

Now, it is being claimed that the company could soon start rolling out OTA update to enable the MEMC feature.</p>
<p>For those who are unaware, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/09/all-you-need-to-know-about-memc-motion-estimation-motion-compensation/">MEMC</a> stands for Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation. It basically adds frames to a video with a low frame rate so that it has a higher frame rate and gives a smooth effect.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-338140 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Mi-10-MEMC-Leak.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 10 Series MEMC OTA Update Leak" width="596" height="137" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Mi-10-MEMC-Leak.png 596w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Mi-10-MEMC-Leak-300x69.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px" /></p>
<p>To estimate the trajectory of the high-speed moving object in a picture, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/technology">technology</a> makes use of hardware chips and some software algorithm. The regular Pro variant has already <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/07/oneplus-7-pro-gets-oxygenos-9-5-7-update-with-several-camera-improvements/">received a couple of important updates</a> but the company wants users to know that they are working on the 5G variant as well. The OP7Pro 5G has just received a brand new update fixing some important issues in software.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-254838" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus 7 pro" width="635" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1.jpg 635w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1-300x217.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1-324x235.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/op7-pro-1-580x420.jpg 580w" sizes="(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px" /></a></p>
<p>The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G variant is the company&#8217;s first ever <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> phone and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/05/15/oneplus-7-pro-5g-edition-announced-at-the-uk-event/">was announced at the UK event on May 15</a>. The phone is identical to the regular OnePlus 7 Pro, except for the X50 LTE modem and started selling soon after UK&#8217;s EE launched its 5G network around the end of May. The new update improves screen touch sensitivity, optimizes DC dimming along with Double Tap to Wake and Ambient Display.</p>

<p>The OTA 9.5.4 update for the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G edition also fixes issues in the software like persistant fingerprint animation on the screen after successful unlock, app icons failing to load after unlocking, and the issue with the pop-up camera opening during an incoming video call when the screen is off.</p>
<p>The OTA 9.5.4 is already rolling out to existing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> 7 Pro 5G users. If you haven&#8217;t got it yet, don&#8217;t worry, the rollout is in batches and you should get the new update in the next couple of days.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-137164" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OnePlus-5_1.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus 5" width="1024" height="1018" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OnePlus-5_1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OnePlus-5_1-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OnePlus-5_1-300x298.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OnePlus-5_1-768x764.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>OnePlus announced at a Reddit AMA session that a fix for the WiFi issue and addition of EIS will come via a future update. How soon that update will roll out is currently unknown. The OnePlus 5 has received two OTA updates since its release last week. There was one on launch day and another one about two days ago.</p>
<p>OnePlus also revealed a few interesting details about the company. First, there are no plans to launch devices with microSD card expansion at the moment. So if you have been hoping the feature will make it to future models, you may want to discard that thought.</p>
<p>They also mentioned that the company has no tablet in its product map. This is funny because I believe at one point in time, the company considered making one. It is sad I do not have proof anymore.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/27/oneplus-3-3t-android-o-update-arriving-end-2017/">OnePlus 3, 3T Android O Update Arriving at the End of 2017</a><span id="more-138608"></span></p>
<p>Lastly, we may get a more expensive OnePlus phone in future. This premium device will have a price of about $800. That is way higher than the $539 price tag of the OnePlus 5. No other info was given about the device.</p>
