<p>Digital transformation appears in almost every aspect of our lives. This process, which started with computers and smartphones, continues today with e-books and smart notebooks. Lastly, Palm Reading&#8217;s new device, which will be introduced on November 30, has emerged. Some features of the smart notebook have been revealed.</p>

<h3>Palm iReader to launch new iReader flagship e-note on November 30th</h3>

<p>The new Palm iReader will make many tasks in our daily life easier. You can take notes, record lectures, convert them to text, capture images of handwritten notes, and convert them to PDF and whatnot. The company is promising more than what we have seen in its latest device iReader Smart 3.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-576x1024.webp?x96852" alt="" class="wp-image-497476" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-576x1024.webp 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-169x300.webp 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-768x1365.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-864x1536.webp 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-696x1237.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-1068x1899.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed-236x420.webp 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/palm-ireaders-color-screen-smart-book-release-date-confirmed.webp 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /><figcaption>Promotional poster for Palm iReader&#8217;s new device</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Introduced in April, iReader Smart 3 attracted users&#8217; attention with its features. The new product is expected to take this one step further. The new smart notebook, which will likely come with a 300 PPI screen, will use colorful E Ink technology for the first time if the valid claims are true. Unfortunately, we don&#8217;t have much information other than these and the release date.</p>

<p>Some of the features of Smart 3, which went on sale for 299 Yuan ($42) (stylus included), were as follows: The Smart 3 features a 10.3-inch E Ink display having 227 PPI resolution. Smart notebook came with a 2 GHz quad-core processor and has 64 GB of storage onboard. It featured a 4000 mAh battery and ran Android OS. </p>

The new earbuds are the first from the brand and land in a market that is filled with several options.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-421459" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b.png?x96852" alt="Palm Buds Pro featured" width="1600" height="1086" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b.png 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-300x204.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-768x521.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-1024x695.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-696x472.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-1068x725.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Palm-Buds-Pro-featured-b-619x420.png 619w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>The Palm Buds Pro adopts the stem design many earbuds have. They also have a closed-fit design with replaceable silicone tips. Palm rounds it off with a matte paint finish. The earbuds are said to be designed for maximum comfort and to be worn all day without compromising on battery life. While it is only available in black, owners can buy protective silicone cases in Navy Blue and Rose Pink. Each silicone case also comes with a carabiner and three pairs of extra silicone tips that match the color of the silicone case.</p>
<p>Each earbud has a studio-grade 10mm dynamic driver that provides “big thumping bass, enhanced mids, and crisp highs”. There is Active Noise Cancellation thanks to a 6-microphone system. There is also Ambient mode so users can hear announcements, voices, and street traffic while playback is on.</p>
<p>Palm says users will also enjoy crystal clear calls thanks to environmental noise-canceling technology that reduces ambient noise during calls whether you are indoors or out having a run.</p>
<p>The Palm Buds Pro supports ultra-fast Bluetooth pair and sync and multi-device switching. The battery life is 4.5 hours with ANC on (5.5 hours with ANC off) and goes up to 24 hours with the case. The earbuds are compatible with Android and iOS, have support for the Google Assistant and Siri, are rated IPX4 for water and sweat resistance, and have smart touch control.</p>

Palm says pre-orders should begin shipping on November 9 while silicone cases will ship by the end of November.</p>

The ownership of the company had changed hands in 2014 from HP to <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/tcl">TCL</a>. It had also experienced a period of seeming inactivity after the release of its Palm phone that was a mixed bag of success. The company has now provided some teasers about its unveiling of a pair of AirPods-like earbuds that will be a good match for the Palm Phone, which is reputed as one of the world’s smallest Android phones.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-419401" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737.jpg?x96852" alt="Palm earbuds" width="1080" height="616" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-768x438.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-1024x584.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-696x397.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-1068x609.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130737-736x420.jpg 736w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></a></p>
<p>The Palm Phone although a very compact Android device had a few significantly visible drawbacks like a very poor battery setup, an underwhelming camera, as well as challenges in the overall use of the very small screen of the device. It has been about two years since Palm unveiled the Palm Phone and the company has now risen from the lull to announce the birthing of the Palm earbuds. The announcement was via a tweet and some images on the Palm Twitter handle.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-419400" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753.jpg?x96852" alt="Palm earbuds" width="1080" height="614" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-768x437.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-1024x582.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-696x396.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-1068x607.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IMG_20211015_130753-739x420.jpg 739w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></a></p>
<p>A blurred image indicated the outline of the earbuds shows the contour and the elongated stems alongside other visible features. Although Palm had not provided many details on the new device, we expect it to be true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation (ANC) functionality. These are some of the irreducible minimum standards that could help restore some attention to the company. We await more details about the new Palm earbuds as we inch closer to the official announcement date. More teasers will also possibly come from Palm on the new device.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210269" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Palm-phone-render.jpg?x96852" alt="Palm phone render" width="800" height="665" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Palm-phone-render.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Palm-phone-render-300x249.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Palm-phone-render-768x638.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Palm-phone-render-95x80.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>The Palm Pepito&#8217;s model number has been revealed to be PVG100. Although, the device doesn&#8217;t pack impressive specs, what it has going for it is its size. TCL most likely believes there are people who want really small phones seeing as the Palm Pepito has a 3.3-inch screen. The overall size will be close to a 4-inch device since there are huge bezels at the top and bottom of the screen.</p>
<p>There is a single camera on the back of the device and it is on the right which is unusual for modern phones. The camera sensor and LED flash share the same housing. We are not sure of the material on the back of the device though we can see it looks glossy. The frame is probably metal.</p>

<p>The new render only shows the right side of the phone which is home to a SIM tray and the power button. Volume controls are definitely on the left but we have no idea what connectivity ports are on the device.</p>
<p>The Palm Pepito is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo and have a small 800mAh battery. TCL is yet to announce a release date but reports say it is heading to Verizon in the US.</p>

In case you don&#8217;t know, this manufacturer hasn&#8217;t released a phone since 2011. According to a fresh report on <em>AnroidPolice</em>, this will be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/07/tcl-allegedly-readying-a-new-palm-smartphone-called-pepito-new-certifications-surface/">smallest phone</a> in the world but also the one with the smallest battery. From what sources are suggesting, it will sport a 3.3-inch display showing images at an HD resolution and a battery with a capacity of just 800 mAh. Even though the display is very small and it has a low resolution (so it will not consume a lot of energy), with a such a small small battery we do not expect the upcoming Palm phone to have a long battery life, especially if we consider its rumored specs.</p>
<p>But we also have to admit that in this sized phone there isn&#8217;t any room left for inserting a big battery. According to rumors, the phone is actually in the works and it is codenamed Pepito. It will be equipped with a low-end chipset: the octa-core Snapdragon 435 by Qualcomm. Despite being an entry-level SoC, this chipset is perfectly able to run Android in its standard edition: indeed, from what leaks suggested, this phone will not run Android Go.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-205487" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm-leak.jpg?x96852" alt="Palm 2018 phone" width="728" height="467" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm-leak.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm-leak-300x192.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>The chipset is expected to be paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, but reports do not exclude the arrival of different memory configuration. Unfortunately, there will not be a headphone jack on the Palm Pepito. The device is expected to be released in 2018 in at least two color variants: titanium and gold. It is speculated that it will be launched in the U.S. market through the known carrier Verizon, while there is no info about it coming to other markets at the moment.</p>

They brought exciting and very innovative features in the phones market which are still being used today. Among these, there is the support to wireless charging, the multi-tasking menu consisting of cards that we now use every day on both Android and iOS, as well as the gesture navigation based on swipe. Well, it seems that <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/tcl">TCL</a> is preparing the launch of a new Palm-branded phone, after acquiring Alcatel and giving a new life to the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/blackberry">BlackBerry</a> brand. The handset has been spotted in three databases from known regulatory agencies.</p>
<p>First of all, it has been certified by the American FCC which lists a device &#8220;Designed by Palm in San Francisco&#8221; and &#8220;Manufactured in China&#8221;, with the model number PVG100. The listing has been filed on July 26, 2018. Then, it has been also certified by Bluetooth SIG which shows the model name Pepito. Further, it mentions that it is a smartphone and a companion device, but we do not know what the second thing means and it could be just a mistranslation. Sadly, we do not know if Palm Pepito is just a codename or the real name of the device.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_204982" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-204982" style="width: 980px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-204982" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm.jpg?x96852" alt="" width="980" height="620" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm-300x190.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/palm-768x486.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-204982" class="wp-caption-text">Palm Roadrunner photo shoot</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>The device has also appeared on a listing of the Wi-Fi Alliance, which has revealed that it does not feature the Wi-Fi dual band technology, so it does not have the 5 GHz band but it can only connect to wireless networks through 2.4G. This kinda confirms that the phone is not a flagship but probably just a budget handset. Wi-Fi Alliance also lists Android 8.1 Oreo as the operating system installed on the alleged Palm Pepito. According to the last rumors, Palm will officially announce a new smartphone before the end of 2018 and it will be offered through the known American carrier Verizon.</p>
