The SD 835 chip is built on the 10nm process and is said to be 27% better in performance when compared to the Snapdragon 820 chip. Also, it uses about 40% lesser power, so the new processor is better with performance and battery usage. Despite these and many more features, the SD 835 chip is yet to be featured in so many flagship models even as the smartphone releases for the year is reaching its peak. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/mi-6-pan-jiutang.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-142970" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/mi-6-pan-jiutang.png?x10805" alt="Snapdragon 835" width="590" height="536" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/mi-6-pan-jiutang.png 590w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/mi-6-pan-jiutang-300x273.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px" /></a></p>
<p>Industry analyst, Pan Jiutang has come out to reveal why the flagship chip is yet to be used on a large number of smartphones. According to the analyst, the 10nm processor is more expensive than the SD 820 and is even 3-5 times the price of the Snapdragon 600 series. From the look of things, the lack of a flurry of SD 835 smartphones isn&#8217;t due to the slow production process as was earlier thought but the cost of the processor.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read Also: </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/28/qualcomm-snapdragon-450-chipset-official-brings-25-cpu-gpu-performance-better-battery-life/">Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Chipset is Official; Brings 25% CPU, GPU Performance, Better Battery Life</a></strong></p>
<p>By this time last year, the Snapdragon 820 processor has seen a good number of patrons but presently, among the Chinese OEMs only the Xiaomi Mi 6, Nubia Z17 and OnePlus 5 feature the processor. The Snapdragon 835 was produced by Samsung&#8217;s foundry and the cost of the Galaxy S8 wouldn&#8217;t pose any problem for Samsung to make its profit. But its profitability for Chinese manufacturers who don&#8217;t have the leverage of fixing a very high price tag on their models, using this processor may pose a problem in terms of profits, in the long run. Except Qualcomm drops the cost of the chip, which we don&#8217;t know presently, the processor might end up not being used on a lot of devices before the release of the next-gen SD 845 next year.</p>

Posted on Weibo, the image has the word “Hello 5” written on it and is accompanied by the text “Hey Summer! Give me five!”. Both confirm the name and release date respectively.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-130161" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser-2.png?x10805" alt="" width="744" height="377" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser-2.png 744w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser-2-300x152.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px" /></p>
<p>Summer is expected to begin on Wednesday, June 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, and end in September. Last year, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-3/">OnePlus 3</a> launched in June, so we expect the OnePlus 5 will follow the same calendar.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-130160" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 5 teaser" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-teaser-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The device is expected to feature dual rear cameras but we have also seen sketches showing that the front will also sport dual cameras. While dual front and rear cameras are no longer new features for a phone, it is the RAM we are most concerned about. The rumor flying around says that the OnePlus 5 will have 8GB of RAM and it seems we just might have our first confirmation.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-130177" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-8GB-RAM.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="747" height="543" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-8GB-RAM.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/OnePlus-5-8GB-RAM-300x218.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px" /></p>
<p>Analyst, Pan Jiutang&#8217;s response to the teaser image hints at the OnePlus 5 having 8GB RAM. A rough translation of his response says “last year LeEco was supposed to launch the world&#8217;s first 8GB RAM phone (but they didn&#8217;t), the time seems to be now”. Since he&#8217;s directly replying to the OnePlus 5 post, we believe he&#8217;s dropping a hint and not just speculating.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/01/hydrogenos-update-brings-aptx-aptx-hd-bluetooth-support-oneplus-3/">HydrogenOS Update Brings aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth Support for OnePlus 3</a><span id="more-130157"></span></p>
<p>The LeEco phone rumored to launch with 8GB of RAM was the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/le-pro-3/">Le Pro 3</a>. It was later released with 6GB of RAM.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/01/04/asus-zenfone-ar-worlds-first-tango-daydream-ready-smartphone-sd-821-8-gb-ram-unveiled-ces-2017/">ASUS Zenfone AR</a> is actually the first smartphone in the world to have 8GB of RAM, however it was only announced back at CES 2017. The release date is scheduled for Q2 2017. If the OnePlus 5 hits market shelves before it, then technically it will be the first 8GB RAM phone you can buy.</p>

With the settlement, Meizu fans who had before now been agitating for the return to the use of Qualcomm chips on their beloved brand were expecting that to happen soon.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pan-jiutang/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-123559" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pan-jiutang.png?x10805" alt="" width="522" height="486" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pan-jiutang.png 522w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pan-jiutang-300x279.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px" /></a></p>
<p>However, well-known industry analyst Pan Jiutang has come out to disclose that the expected Meizu smartphone will not have a flagship series chip onboard. The Snapdragon 800 series is Qualcomm&#8217;s flagship series and the SD 835 is the latest in the pack. The analyst hinted that the upcoming Meizu smartphone will instead use a Snapdragon 600-series chip which was revealed to be a Snapdragon 626 in the product schedule.</p>

<p>Meizu has not left us in doubt that they would indeed release a Snapdragon powered Meizu phone but that won&#8217;t be anytime soon. A<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/29/meizu-2017-product-lineup-soc-schedule-leaked-snapdragon-chip/"> leaked Meizu product schedule</a> pitches the Snapdragon-powered Meizu phone as coming in the fourth quarter of this year. Meizu VP Li Nan also added his voice in saying that a Meizu smartphone powered by a Snapdragon chip <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/16/meizu-release-qualcomm-powered-phone-2017-vp-li-nan/">would be launched towards the end of this year</a>, likely in December. So, if you&#8217;re looking forward to a Meizu flagship rocking a Snapdragon flagship SoC, you may have to wait till next year for that.</p>

That was being treated as a rumor but it seems to have gotten confirmation from a reliable source. Chief Scientist at Huawei-owned Watt Laboratory, Dr Li Yangxing may just have confirmed the existence of the concept machine when he was announcing the breakthrough Huawei has made in Graphene-Assisted battery technology. The scientist added that the battery has been commercialized and Huawei plans to announce a phone with the super-quick charge function by late December.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/huawei-pan-jiutang-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-109365 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/huawei-pan-jiutang.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei concept phone" width="588" height="522" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/huawei-pan-jiutang.jpg 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/huawei-pan-jiutang-300x266.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px" /></a></p>
<p>This stance was re-echoed by analyst Pan Jiutang who also added that the device would feature fast-charging technology. The well-known industry analyst had earlier hinted that the concept phone would feature Samsung&#8217;s customized four curved screen and would be equipped with a number of sensors as well as capable of achieving artificial intelligence.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Read More:</strong> </span><strong><a class="row-title" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=105962&amp;action=edit">Huawei’s Own Concept Phone Tipped For Release Next Month</a></strong></p>
<p>In addition, the Huawei concept phone is said to come without physical cameras at the front and rear, fingerprint sensor, no visible physical capacitive keys, neither is there any visible speakers, headphone jack or any other physical feature except the curved screen. This is likely because the Huawei concept phone would come with a set of peripherals such as headsets, smart band or watch, external camera and even implant device. It is also rumored that Huawei would likely manufacture just the concept phones while the other peripheral devices would be manufactured by third parties.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/08/interesting-details-huawei-concept-phone-emerge/huawei-concept-phone/" rel="attachment wp-att-106166"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106166" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-concept-phone.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei-concept-phone" width="600" height="394" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-concept-phone.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-concept-phone-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-concept-phone-540x355.jpg 540w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>We can say for sure if these details about external peripherals are true but we now know we should be expecting a spectacular device from Huawei any moment from now. Also that the device would likley have a large curved display as well as a large batter with super fast charging technology.</p>

But that seems not to be the case as <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> is rumored to be planning the release of a more captivating device next month.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to analyst Pan Jiutang, Huawei would release a device even more powerful than the Mate 9 next month. The analyst made this disclosure on Weibo  and even went further to give some highlights of the device&#8217;s specs.  The phone will feature Samsung customized four curved screen and would be equipped with a number of sensors as well as capable of achieving artificial intelligence.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/huawei-pan-jiutang/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105963" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-pan-jiutang.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei" width="591" height="522" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-pan-jiutang.jpg 591w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/huawei-pan-jiutang-300x265.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></a>Mr Jiutang went further to reveal that the real machine has been seen by insiders and they describe its appearance as stunning. If actually this turns out to be true, Huawei would have succeeded in performing way above our expectations for the year. The company is already positioned to achieve its sales target for the year and now another powerful phone? That&#8217;s just awesome.</p>

<p>Earlier today, industry analyst, Pan Jiutang, announced on his Weibo account that Xiaomi will hold a launch event for their new products this month, with the Mi 3S at the helm. Some reports had said that the Mi 3S is really an upgrade of the Mi 2S and that it’s not 4G-supported.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Pan Jiutang refuted the rumors and said that the Mi 3S will support 4G internet. If this is true, then, the Mi 3S should truly be an upgraded version of the Mi 3.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Previous reports had stated that the Mi 3S will continue to sport a 5-inch 1080p screen and an 8mp/13mp dual-camera. It will also support FDD LTE and TD-LTE internet. Its operating system is the Android 4.4.2 and that it will use the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. It will also have 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory storage.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>So, will the Mi 4 be launched on August 16 or September?</p>
