Adobe Project Stardust, a New Era of Photo Editing

Adobe is set to announce a new AI-powered photo editing tool (Project Stardust) at the Adobe Max event next week that makes it much easier to alter images without prior editing experience. No longer do you need to be a professional photographer or graphic designer to create high quality images. With Project Stardust, anyone can create professional-looking photos with just a few clicks.

Of Course, Project Stardust, still under development. However, the company recently showcased its features in a video. In the footage, the tool impressively removes objects like suitcases or background people from photos. The AI smoothly fills and blends the resulting gaps. Additionally, it can replace objects with AI-created alternatives, like changing outfits using text commands.

Here are a few examples of how Project Stardust can be used:

• Remove unwanted objects from photos: Easily remove people, objects, or even blemishes from photos without any manual editing required. For example, you could remove a photobomber from a vacation photo or a blemish from a portrait.
• Change the background of a photo: Replace the background of a photo with a new one, or remove the background altogether to create a transparent PNG image. For example, you could replace the background of a headshot with a professional studio background or create a transparent image of a product to add to a website.
• Change the color or style of objects in a photo: Change the color of a car, the style of a piece of clothing, or even the hairstyle of a person in a photo. For example, you could change the color of your car to match your new outfit or give your pet a new hairstyle.

• Add new objects to photos: Add realistic-looking objects to photos, such as people, animals, plants, or even buildings. For example, you could add yourself to a photo of a famous landmark or add a pet to a family photo.
• Create composite images: Combine multiple photos to create a single image, such as a photo of a person standing in front of a famous landmark or a photo of a product with a different background. For example, you could create a photo of yourself standing in front of the Eiffel Tower or a photo of a product with a white background.

Project Stardust is still in development, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way people edit photos. It is expected to be released to the public in the near future.

ARM-based processors have been getting a lot of attention lately and companies are now coming up with ARM-supporting variants of their operating system as well as apps. With Apple transitioning from Intel to its own Apple Silicon, we expect to see a lot of developments for ARM-based Windows 10 in the near future.

However, there are already a few devices available in the market which runs Windows 10 on ARM. And take advantage of that, Adobe recently released a beta version of its Photoshop for Windows on ARM devices.

Now, a user who goes by “imbushuo” on Twitter has managed to run the Photoshop app on Microsoft’s Lumia smartphone. However, it’s noteworthy that the device is running a modified version of the Windows 10 on ARM operating system.

Although Microsoft has given up on its Lumia smartphones, users are still tinkering with the older models. Earlier this year, a group of developers managed to port the full Windows 10 operating system on Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones.

Developers have also managed to add Continuum support as well as a custom phone dialer app on a Lumia smartphone running Windows operating system. They even reached the ability to detect the SIM card on the device.

We don’t expect the Photoshop app to run properly on a modified smartphone which is about five years old, but it’s interesting to see developers making such progress, boosting the development of Windows on ARM project.

When Xiaomi announced the Mi CC9 series, the two phones came with a feature in the gallery app that allowed you to change the sky in photos to a different one from a set of presets. The feature has now been made available for several Xiaomi and Redmi phones. If you have always wanted to try out the feature but don’t have a Xiaomi phone, you should be able to do so soon as Adobe has revealed that its Photoshop editing software will be getting a similar feature, and it is packed with more customizations.

According to The Verge, Adobe has a conference that is scheduled to run between October 20 and October 22 and we expect it will unveil new features for its suite of apps. Ahead of the launch, it has released a video that gives us a sneak peek of the Sky Replacement tool coming to Adobe Photoshop.

Users will be able to switch the sky in photos to a different one available in the built-in presets. They will also be able to add their own presets to use in their images. Adobe says the tool uses AI to tweak the foreground to match the choice of sky you choose. So it should automatically adjust the brightness of your photo if you choose a sunny sky or add a golden hue to your photo if you choose a golden hour sunset sky.

Adobe didn’t say when the feature will be available but more details should surface at the conference next month.
