According to recent speculations, with the introduction of Android 14, the Pixel 7 may be upgraded to the current 5G standard. This would put the Pixel 7 on par with other flagship products and allow it to use the most recent 5G networks.

According to Google, “3GPP Release 16 will be planned in the Android U release.” According to one interpretation, the Pixel 7 will be updated to Release 16 in the fall. The Pixel 8 is said to employ the same 5300 modems as the Tensor G3, with the chance that only the newer phone will support it.
