The first-generation Pixel Watch receives a fitness boost with features previously exclusive to the second generation. Train for a specific pace with Pace Training, monitor your heart rate zones with Heart Zone Training, and benefit from a redesigned user interface for easier workout data visualization.

Find moments of peace with the Fitbit Relax app, now available on the first-gen Pixel Watch. This app guides you through breathing exercises directly on your wrist, allowing you to track your mindfulness progress over time.

Navigate your city with ease using Google Maps on your Pixel Watch. Get real-time departure times, explore different transit options, and receive guidance through a compass-enabled map view.

The Pixel portfolio receives several enhancements as well. Share only specific app content during video calls on your Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, or Pixel 5a (and newer phones) with app screen sharing. This allows you to maintain privacy while showcasing relevant information.

Connecting previously used devices with your new Pixel phone or tablet becomes simpler through the “Connected Devices” settings page. Fast Pair further assists in establishing connections with Bluetooth accessories.

Mark up documents and assignments directly on your Pixel device using your finger or stylus with Google Docs markups. This feature provides various tools like pen colors and highlighters, offering a flexible way for individual and collaborative work. Also, the new Gboard voice toolbar on your Pixel Tablet minimizes the keyboard into a toolbar when activated, maximizing screen space and facilitating multitasking.

Google just unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in a new Mint color option. Now, the latest Pixel Feature Drop is bringing new functionality for the higher end model. The Pixel 8 Pro is finally receiving the long awaited human body temperature tracking feature.

The Search Engine giant released this bio monitoring support in the latest Pixel Feature drop. Google’s Pixel 8 Pro is capable of reading the human’s body temperature. As per official notes, it is a “medical-grade feature” so it might have received official FDA approval. In the latest update, the Pixel 8 Pro users gain access to the Thermometer application to get a temperature scan of their forehead.

This app even lets you save these results to the Fitbit profile to allow for better health tracking. The brand states that the feature can offer accurate body temperature readings, although this claim has yet to be confirmed against a medical thermometer. The sensor can measure human body temperature using infrared radiating that is emitted from the item and can take heat of up to 200 degrees Celsius to -20 degrees Celsius.

Keep in mind that it is still unclear whether this feature is entirely accurate for humans. In other words, you shouldn’t replace your smartphone with actual thermometers for any medical use. Google recently released Gemini Nano, an efficient version of its new AI module for the Pixel 8 Pro as part of the December Pixel feature update. Google has finally put out a new feature drop for Pixel devices and the Pixel Watch, giving users access to several highly anticipated updates. Night Sight, a popular low-lit photography feature, has been optimized for faster processing on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones. The Magic Eraser tool, previously exclusive to the Pixel 6, will now be available on all Pixel handsets. Magic Eraser allows users to remove unwanted objects from their photos with just a few taps. Using artificial intelligence and machine learning, Magic Eraser can intelligently fill in the area where the object was removed, seamlessly blending it into the surrounding environment. This feature is particularly useful for getting rid of distracting elements in your photos, such as power lines or strangers in the background. With Magic Eraser, users can easily clean up their photos and make them look even better than before.

In addition, Google’s Health Connect app will now come pre-installed on Pixels, providing a convenient hub for storing health and fitness data from various apps. If they do nothing, users will receive the QPR3 Beta 1 update today, and they will be forced to stick with the Beta program until June 5th when the June Feature Drop should be released by Google.

Each participant in a talk, meeting, or interview can be given a label. While you are recording speakers, this tool employs machine learning to categorize them. You can instantly rename speakers after recording.

Fitbit Sleep Profile for Pixel Watch

You can learn about your sleeping style and how you sleep with Fitbit Sleep Profile on Pixel Watch. You can also obtain sleep recommendations. This Fitbit Premium function analyses ten distinct aspects of sleep, including how much time you spend sleeping, how frequently you wake up during the night, and how long you sleep.

Based on your individual data and behaviors, these profiles and insights may change every month, allowing you to reflect on and improve your sleep. Wear your Pixel Watch to bed at least 14 evenings each month if you want to see results.

Pixel Watch Customization

To make it easier for you to schedule your day around the times when the sun rises and sets, the Sunrise/Sunset Tile from the Weather app has been included. You may instantly call, text, or view a contact’s details by pinning up to five people from your Favorites list using the Contacts app.

Update Availability

All Pixel smartphones that can run Android 13 and are supported will start receiving these software updates today. The rollout will proceed in phases throughout the course of the following week, depending on the provider and device. While support for spatial audio will be available starting in January 2023.

Google is rolling out a new Pixel Feature Drop update for its Pixel range of smartphones. For those unaware, the search giant is known for introducing new features for its phones every three months via Pixel Feature Drop releases. The latest update for June brings some interesting additions.

The June 2021 Pixel Feature Drop update is being seeded out for the following Google Pixel smartphones.

• Pixel 4a (5G)
• Pixel 4a
• Pixel 4 XL
• Pixel 4
• Pixel 3a XL
• Pixel 3a
• Pixel 3 XL
• Pixel 3

Although the entire Pixel range (except the end of support devices) is receiving the update, some features on not available on certain devices. That said, let’s take a look at these new features one by one.

Astrophotography Videos

As the name suggests, users of Pixel 4 and later devices will be now able to record videos while clicking pictures in astrophotography mode. Users can try waiting longer (longer exposure) to click a shot to get more stars in their video.

Heads-up

This feature is part of the Digital Wellbeing app. It will periodically alert users to look up from their handset’s screen while walking. It was previously only available for a select few users.

Locked Folder

This feature was first announced at Google I/O 2021. It will let users save their select photos and videos in Google Photos to a different called ‘Locked Folder’. These media files are hidden locally on the user’s phone and are protected by biometrics. They don’t show up in any other part of the Google Photos app.

Car Crash Detection

Car Crash Detection is part of the Personal Safety app and is not available on Pixel 3a/3a XL. It automatically alerts emergency services when a car crash is detected. This feature was previously only available in the US, the UK, and Australia, But now, it’s rolling out to users in Spain, Ireland, and Singapore.

Call Screen

Call Screen helps users in avoiding spam calls. This feature is now being rolled out in Japan. It was previously only available in the US and Canada.

Recorder

The Google Recorder app is one of the best recorder applications on any platform. The new update brings support for transcription in more English dialects, namely Singaporean, Australian, Irish and British English.

Pride Wallpapers and Sounds

Since June is Pride month, Google is celebrating by adding new Pride-themed wallpapers and sounds.

Call Actions on Google Assistant

Users of Pixel 4 and above can now ask Google Assistant to accept or reject calls. 

Gboard Smart Replies

Gboard can now smartly suggest phone number, email address, and URL in clipboard for replies.

All the above-mentioned new features will be rolled out to eligible Google Pixel smartphones via respective app updates from the Google Play Store in the coming weeks.
