Nostalgia does that to you. Now that reviews are out, I am not so sure I want to spend money on it but I won&#8217;t mind getting it as a gift. If you want to know what is inside, a teardown has surfaced online that reveals the console is powered by a <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a> processor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-225487" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/PlayStation-Classic-featured-e1543570149942.jpg?x10805" alt="PlayStation Classic featured" width="911" height="532" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/PlayStation-Classic-featured-e1543570149942.jpg 911w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/PlayStation-Classic-featured-e1543570149942-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/PlayStation-Classic-featured-e1543570149942-768x448.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 911px) 100vw, 911px" /></p>
<p>The teardown which was carried out by <em>HDBlog.it</em> revealed that the PlayStation Classic is powered by MediaTek&#8217;s MT8167A processor. It is a 1.5GHz quad-core chipset with a PowerVR GE8300 GPU. Other than Sony&#8217;s new console, it can also be found in the Acer Iconia One 10 released last year.</p>
<p>The PlayStation Classic pairs the chipset with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of eMMC 5.1 storage and a MediaTek MT6392A audio codec. It has an HDMI port, two wired controllers, and a virtual memory card to save your progress.</p>

<p>The original PlayStation was powered by a 32-bit MIPS R3000A processor with 2MB of RAM.</p>

<p>The PlayStation Classic is priced at $100 and comes with 20 pre-loaded games. It is available for pre-order now but will go on sale on December 3.</p>
