POCO is gearing up to launch the C85 5G in India, and the company has already started teasing the device. The phone will make its debut on December 9. The design shown in the teasers looks similar to the recently launched Redmi 15C 5G, which points to a rebranding approach that POCO often uses.

The C85 5G is expected to feature a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This large screen size aims to offer a better viewing experience for videos, gaming, and daily use. Inside, the phone will likely run on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. This chipset is built to support smooth 5G connectivity and handle routine tasks at a budget price.

For cameras, POCO has confirmed a dual rear setup. The main sensor is 50MP, and the front camera is 8MP. These basic configurations should cover standard photography needs for users who want simple and quick shots.

A major highlight of the C85 5G is its battery. The phone will have a 6000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. This should give users long backup on a single charge with quicker recharge times. The device will also include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and convenient unlocks.

POCO has confirmed that the C85 5G will be available on Flipkart once it launches. The company will reveal full pricing and sale dates during the official announcement. Since the Redmi 15C 5G starts at Rs 12,499 (around $137), the C85 5G is likely to be priced in the same range or slightly lower.

After a series of leaks and rumors, Poco has officially unveiled its latest Poco C85 smartphone. It’s an entry-level handset that covers just the basics.

The phone features a 6.9-inch display with up to a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The panel also carries TÜV Rheinland certification for eye care and sports a U-shaped notch housing an 8MP selfie camera. On the back, there’s a 50MP AI-assisted dual camera setup.

Powering the device is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chip. Storage options include 6GB RAM with 128GB storage or 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, with the former expandable up to 16GB via virtual memory.

The Poco C85 packs a 6000mAh battery that the company claims can deliver up to 82 hours of music playback. When it’s time to recharge, it supports 33W fast charging, along with Battery Health 3.0 for improved longevity. Poco has also added 10W reverse wired charging, allowing you to top up other devices in a pinch.

Despite the large battery, the phone measures just 7.9mm thick. It also comes with an IP64 rating and is available in three finishes: Green, Purple, and Black.

The Poco C85 has been gradually clearing certifications across different regions, including the UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, and the US. Now, a new report by XpertPick has emerged to reveal the official renders and complete specification sheet of this upcoming entry-level device.

Poco C85 specifications and images leaked

On the front, the Poco C85 features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel with 1600 x 720 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 810nits peak brightness. It has a 50-megapixel main camera accompanied by an auxiliary lens on the back, and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Poco C85 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra and a 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The SoC is coupled with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. It runs on Android 15 with a layer of HyperOS 2.0 on top.

A 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging keeps the phone going. The device is IP64 rated for dust and splash resistance and supports dual nano SIM cards. Connectivity features include 5GHz Wi-Fi and USB-C. The phone measures 173.16 x 81.07 x 8.2mm and weighs 211 grams.

The leaked renders show that the Poco C85 has a waterdrop notch display, while the rear has a dual-tone design with a black camera island. The bottom edge holds a 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille, while the top is clean. The left side carries the SIM tray, and the right side features volume buttons and a power key with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The C85 will be offered in black, mint, and purple shades. Xiaomi’s upcoming budget smartphones—the Redmi 15C and Poco C85—have made an early appearance in the GSMA IMEI database.

The newly discovered entries include multiple regional variants, including Global, EEA, and others. Based on the structure of the model numbers (25078RA3EA), the devices appear to be slated for a July 2025 debut, although Xiaomi’s timelines aren’t always predictable.

What we think the Redmi 15C and Poco C75 might offer

As of now, no official specifications have been released. But given Xiaomi’s past releases in this segment, our expectations are fairly standard. 

The Redmi 15C and Poco C85 are likely to ship with IPS LCD panels and an entry-level chipset, possibly something in the range of a MediaTek Helio G99. 

This will likely be paired with LPDDR4X RAM paired with eMMC 5.1 storage. It might have around 6000mAh battery, with support for 18W to 33W fast charging, depending on the variant.

The appearance in the GSMA listings doesn’t confirm much else, but it does confirm Xiaomi will once again rebrand one device under two different brands. But it’s not surprising. The Redmi and Poco lines have long overlapped in hardware, with branding and design tweaks being the only difference.
