<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Redmi Note 8 Pro was the first </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Redmi/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Redmi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> Note series smartphone to use a MediaTek chipset after a very long time. The device debuted with the then-new Helio G90T SoC. It was released with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The handset received two MIUI updates (MIUI 11, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">) and was even promoted to Android 10. Now, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has started rolling out MIUI 12.5 update along with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Unfortunately, the update is only </span><a href="https://t.me/MIUIUpdatesTracker/13941"><span style="font-weight: 400">live</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> in China with build number </span><b>V12.5.1.0.RGGCNXM</b><span style="font-weight: 400">. But it should hit the remaining regional variants soon.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The POCO F2 Pro, on the other hand, is a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro. The original phone </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/11/redmi-k30-pro-miui-12-5-update/"><span style="font-weight: 400">received the MIUI 12.5 update</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> in May. Hence, the POCO F2 Pro was expected to get it soon.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Right now, the POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update is only </span><a href="https://t.me/MIUIUpdatesTracker/13943"><span style="font-weight: 400">available</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> for the EEA variant with build number </span><b>V12.5.1.0.RJKEUXM</b><span style="font-weight: 400">. Anyway, the update should reach other regional variants in the coming weeks.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Unlike the above handset, this one launched with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-10/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 10</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. It was updated to MIUI 12 as well as Android 11 months after its release.</span></p>
