The much-awaited POCO F2 Pro is with us. The smartphone has just been unveiled by the Chinese firm in an online event today. Just as we predicted, the POCO F2 Pro is a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro. That shouldn’t be a problem because the phone comes with flagship specs and while it may not be the flagship-killer the POCO F1 was, the pricing is fair for a Snapdragon 865-powered 5G phone.

POCO F2 Pro shares the same design and pretty much similar hardware with the Redmi K30 Pro. But the phone packs the much-acclaimed POCO Launcher 2.0 based on Android 10. This brings features such as Dark Mode, a cool App Drawer and more.

The F2 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which brings onboard support for SA/NSA dual-mode 5G connectivity. The processor is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM on the standard variant and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM on the higher variant. The device has up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The smartphone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1200 nits peak brightness, 50000000: 1 ultra contrast ratio, and HDR10+ support. The screen supports 180Hz touch sampling rate to ensure smooth gaming. The display is also TUV Rheinland certified for eye care and is also protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the from t and back. The display also comes with the latest generation of an under-display fingerprint sensor. The phone supports Wi-Fi 6, Super Bluetooth, NFC and equally has a 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster. You also get Hi-Res audio support and 1.2cc speakers.

For photography, the F2 Pro sports a quad-camera setup at the back. The setup consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP Ultra wide-angle lens with a 123-degree FoV, a 5MP Telemacro lens, and a 2MP depth of field sensor. The phone also supports 8K video shooting and super slo-mo videos.

At the front, the pop-up mechanism bears a 20MP camera with support for 120 fps slo-mo videos and time-lapse shooting. Keeping the light on is a large 4700mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging technology. The device also comes with LiquidCool Technology 2.0 which prevents overheating during high intensive tasks.

The POCO F2 Pro stats at 499 Euros for the 6GB+128GB variant while the 8GB+256GB version is priced at 599 Euros. The flagship is available in four color options: Neon Blue, Electric Purple, Cyber Grey, and Phantom White. It is presently available GearBest and AliExpress for the global market. POCO says it will hit more stores soon.

Well over one year after the Poco F1 was first announced, Xiaomi’s independent Poco brand is now set to go official with the much-touted Poco F2 Pro. As a matter of fact, the phone’s launch may even be closeby. The Poco Global Twitter account is now teasing the return of the brand “after 265 days” apparently referring to the F1 launch.

If that isn’t enough to get you excited about the PocoF2 Pro, popular e-retailer GearBest has launched a promo page for the device. The page features a couple of posters teasing some of the features that will be onboard the flagship.

The page also indicates that the device is “coming soon”. The Gearbest promo page requires intending buyers to provide their email address and get notified when more details emerge when the phone is ready to ship. You also stand a chance to win a free unit and will enjoy early shipping.

The teaser confirms the smartphone will be equipped with the most-powerful chipset which at present is the Snapdragon 865 SoC. This again confirms speculations that the F2 Pro is a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro.

Further, it will come with a full-screen design and an excellent camera housed in a round housing. Also listed is a large battery with fast charging support.

The Poco F2 Pro will be available with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage as standard and a higher 8GB RAM/256GB storage option. The model will be available in four colours; Purple, White, Grey and Blue. Although the price wasn’t listed, an earlier leak suggests the device will retail for €600 or €650 in Europe. If there is a 4G version, the price may be lower.
