The Redmi Note 10S and the POCO F2 Pro, two of Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphones, have now received the MIUI 14 update. The latest version of Xiaomi’s customized Android ROM, MIUI 14, adds a number of new features and enhancements to its smartphones.

The Redmi Note 10S MIUI 14 update is built on Android 13, the latest release of Google’s mobile operating system. The update, with the build number V14.0.2.0.TKLMIXM has been released for the device’s global variant. A new visual design, enhanced home screen functionality, increased battery life, and faster app start times are all included in the update.

The POCO F2 Pro MIUI 14 update is based on Android 12, the previous version of Google’s operating system. The device’s European version has received the update, which has the build number V14.0.1.0.SJKEUXM. Here’s the changelog of updates for the Redmi Note 10S smartphone.

With Android 12 source code uploaded to Android Open Source Project’s website (AOSP) back in October, developers have been hard at creating android 12 based custom ROMs for various devices.

Last week, we reported on the Paranoid Android team bringing Android 12 based Saphire custom ROM to OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro devices in an Alpha state. Now, according to XDA developers report, the ROM is available for more devices, including OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro, POCO F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 10.

Based on Android 12, Paranoid Android Sapphire packs most of the features Google introduced with the latest OS upgrade. On top of that, the ROM also includes a few unique wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, some UI improvements, and some other enhancements.

Do note beforehand though that the build is still in the Alpha stage and may thus have some unexpected bugs and issues. A couple of the known ones include issues with Wi-Fi Direct and 5G connectivity.

To install the ROM, place the fastboot zip file in the root folder on your phone, reboot to the bootloader, and flash the fastboot zip file with “fastboot update aospa-*-image.zip”. Once that’s done, reboot to recovery, wipe user data. For further details, head over to the forum link given above.

NOTE: the ROM only supports the kernel that comes bundled with it and doesn’t support any custom kernels unless they’re said to be supported by their developers.

Xiaomi has been testing Android 12 on a number of its devices for a while now. While the initial batch was mostly comprised of recent launches and flagship devices, more and more phones are getting added to the roster. The most recent are the Redmi K30 Pro (known as POCO F2 Pro globally) and Redmi K30S Ultra (known as Mi 10T globally).

The duo has received MIUI 12.5 beta based on Android 12 through builds 21.11.30 and 21.12.2 (via Xiaomiui). The builds have officially been released in China alone but should be rolling out in the coming months as stable to both the devices.

Yesterday, the Xiaomi 10 and Mi 10 Pro were also treated to their first Android 12 update through MIUI 12.5 beta version 21.11.30. Before this, it was the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra that got a taste of Android 12 with update 21.11.15.

Coming back to Redmi K30 Pro (POCO F2 Pro) and Redmi K30S Ultra (Mi 10T), Xiaomi says that the Android 12 developer builds come along with multiple optimizations and improvements “to pay tribute to the brave early adopters.”

It’s a known fact that POCO smartphones run MIUI like Xiaomi (formerly Mi) and Redmi-branded devices. Hence, POCO recruits MIUI testers for its handsets from time to time. The brand has now opened registrations for the recruitment of a fresh batch of testers.

According to an official announcement post on POCO Community, the brand is looking for testers interested in trying out MIUI Stable ROM. These users will be the first to use stable builds before they are rolled out to the general public.

They will be responsible for providing feedback on new software builds. They are expected to point out bugs and offer suggestions. They should be aware of the issues while using beta software and are recommended to have the ability to recover phones in case of any failure.

Most importantly, POCO is only accepting applicants who are at least 18 years of old. This means curious teenagers cannot enroll in the program.

The POCO F2 Pro was updated to MIUI 12.5 in June. Four months later, the smartphone has now started receiving MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edtion update. This version of MIUI was introduced in August.

The MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update for POCO F2 Pro is currently live in Indonesia. It arrives with build number V12.5.2.0.RJKIDXM. Apart from bringing new under the hood changes, the latest system update also bumps up the security patch level to October 2021.

As always, the OTA software update is being rolled out in batches. Therefore, it will take days to reach every user. At the same time, the update should be also available for other regional variants like Global, EEA, Russia, and Turkey.

The POCO F2 Pro is known as Redmi K30 Pro. This version of the handset got access to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition in August itself.

Both POCO F2 Pro and Redmi K30 are just one and a half years old. These phones have only received a single major MIUI as well as a sole Android update. Hence, they will likely get Android 12 and MIUI 13 in the near future.

The Android 11-based LineageOS 18.1 went official at the beginning of April. Since then, the project has added support for a number of devices. The latest addition brings builds for three popular POCO smartphones.

POCO handsets run MIUI like other Xiaomi group phones. The brand calls it MIUI for POCO. Not everyone likes the company’s software. Those users can try custom ROMs.

LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROMs. The team released LineageOS 18.1 based on Android 11 a few months back. This software is now available for POCO F2 Pro, POCO F3, and POCO X3 Pro.

Power users of the above-listed handsets who enjoy fiddling with their smartphones can unlock their device’s bootloader and install the latest LineageOS 18.1 via custom recovery. It is worth noting that third-party software is not meant for everyone. Hence, proceed only if you know what you are doing.

That said, since POCO F2 Pro is a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, LineageOS 18.1 can be also installed on Redmi K30 Pro as well as Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition. Similarly, Mi 11X and Redmi K40 also support the latest version of LineageOS as these phones are nothing but the POCO F3.

Talking about official software, all these POCO smartphones currently run MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. They should receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition in the coming months, followed by MIUI.

Xiaomi is rumored to announce MIUI 13 very soon. However, the company is yet to release MIUI 12.5 update for eligible devices. The latest smartphones to get the current latest MIUI versions are the popular Redmi Note 8 Pro and the POCO F2 Pro.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro was the first Redmi Note series smartphone to use a MediaTek chipset after a very long time. The device debuted with the then-new Helio G90T SoC. It was released with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

The handset received two MIUI updates (MIUI 11, MIUI 12) and was even promoted to Android 10. Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 12.5 update along with Android 11. Unfortunately, the update is only live in China with build number V12.5.1.0.RGGCNXM. But it should hit the remaining regional variants soon.

The POCO F2 Pro, on the other hand, is a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro. The original phone received the MIUI 12.5 update in May. Hence, the POCO F2 Pro was expected to get it soon.

Right now, the POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update is only available for the EEA variant with build number V12.5.1.0.RJKEUXM. Anyway, the update should reach other regional variants in the coming weeks.

Unlike the above handset, this one launched with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. It was updated to MIUI 12 as well as Android 11 months after its release.

Xiaomi was one of the few companies part of the official Android 11 Beta program. The world’s third-largest smartphone maker enrolled four devices namely Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro POCO F2 Pro for this initiative. Hence, these four handsets were also the first to receive MIUI 12 beta builds based on Android 11. Now, finally, the firm has started rolling out Android 11 stable update to these four phones.

The Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro are the 2020 flagship smartphones of Xiaomi. Similarly, Redmi K30 Pro is the flagship device from Redmi this year. The same phone is also sold as POCO F2 Pro in global markets as POCO’s best handset of 2020.

Therefore, it makes sense for these devices to get the Android 11 stable update first. But interestingly, the update is also live for the Indian version of Redmi Note 9 Pro, which is sold as Redmi Note 9S in other global markets.

That said, talking about the builds, Xiaomi finished the Android 11 stable rollout for Mi 10 in its home country China in the month of November itself. However, the builds for Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro are still in the Stable Beta phase.

Talking about the international variants of these smartphones, Xiaomi has only completed the rollout for the Mi 10 Pro Global version. Whereas, builds released for all other regions are still in the Stable Beta phase.

In simpler words, the official Android 11 update for these phones is theoretically available worldwide. But it has been released only for select users. If these early adopters don’t face any major issues, the update will be soon rolled out to more users in the coming days.

Earlier in June, Xiaomi had promised to push the Android 11-based MIUI 12 update to users of the Poco F2 Pro and even commenced the Android 11 beta update. It did tarry for quite a while but the company has finally fulfilled that promise as the Poco F2 Pro owners in Asia has now started receiving the new update. This is an indication that it will hit other regions soon.

The update ushers in the firmware version MIUI V12.2.1.0.RJKMIXM and the package has a file size of 2.8GB. The update changelog isn’t very elaborate as it equally brings just some camera templates, watermarks, and vlog features in addition to the “Stable MIUI based on Android 11”.

POCO India has been focusing on budget, and mid-range smartphones lately. It began the year with POCO X2 and then carried over to the POCO M2 Pro. While everyone was expecting that the next device would be a flagship, it came out with a POCO X3 and finally POCO C3. However, the company has finally spilled the beans on the next plan. Before you start guessing, yes it’s an answer to the million-dollar question, “when is the next POCO F smartphone coming?”.

Anuj Sharma, Country Director of POCO India, and Manmohan, General Manager of Poco India, confirmed(via Mukul Sharma) in the latest AMA(ASK ME ANYTHING) session that they are working on the POCO F series right now. Now, after this, one would pretty much expect that POCO’s next launch will be an F series device. But POCO didn’t say anything about the launch and hence, we will have to wait for a bit.

Anyway, we really hope that POCO surprises everyone by bringing back the budget flagship series sooner to India, maybe in a few months. That said, if you ask me, going by the numbers, the next device will mostly be the POCO F2 and not darn the ‘Pro’ branding. This is because the naming has reached everywhere and currently, it is probably the most asked question regarding POCO. Additionally, Anuj had earlier confirmed that POCO F2 Pro won’t come to India.

He had said in an interview with Indian Express that POCO F2 Pro isn’t a true successor to the POCO F1. Coming back, while answering another question regarding creating the magic of POCO F1 again, Manmohan says that it’s very difficult. This is understandable considering 2020 has been different and the cost of production and supply chain including other issues, has bothered companies during the pandemic.

However, if POCO manages to follow the “Everything you need, Nothing You don’t” trend of F1, we feel that it has a chance to grab the attention back. Anyway, the team including Anju didn’t reveal anything apart from this.

Recently, POCO F2 Pro was updated to MIUI 12 stable in all the regions with build number V12.0.1.0. Now, within a few days, the company is rolling out another update V12.0.2.0 fixing some of the bugs encountered by the users.

The POCO F2 Pro is a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for international markets. The original phone is on MIUI V12.0.2.0.QJKCNXM for a while in China Thankfully, Xiaomi has begun to roll out the same build to the global variant as well.

The new and the second MIUI 12 stable update for POCO F2 Pro brings July security patch (certain regions), optimization for “ screen didn’t always respond to touch during unlocking”, and fix for “floating windows made the screen unresponsive to touch in some cases”.

The size of the OTA update varies for different regions but comes under 400MB. Since it brings bug fixes, if you own the handset, do make sure to download and install it. Also, the update is being rolled out in batches and therefore, it may take time to reach every unit.

Having said that, if you are interested in trying Android 11 on your POCO F2 Pro, that is possible too as this device is part of Beta Program.

POCO launched POCO F2 Pro as a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for international markets in mid-May. The phone came with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box. Later, in June, the company released an optional Android 11 Beta for the device. Now, the handset is receiving MIUI 12 stable update worldwide.

In total, there are five types of MIUI builds for POCO F2 Pro and they are China (Redmi K30 Pro), Global, EEA (Europe), Indonesia and Russia. MIUI 12 stable is now available in all these flavours.

The original device Redmi K30 Pro received the update last month. In fact, it has even received another build after that with build number 12.0.2.0. Whereas, the global variant of the handset is currently getting MIUI 12.0.1.0.

You do not need a flagship anymore to get a perfect phone. Differences between flagships and upper-midrange phones have thinned in the last year and with the price hikes of the most advanced models, the upper-midrange devices became the main choice. Among the best high-end devices sold at modest prices this year we got the Motorola Edge, the Oppo Find X2 Neo, and the POCO F2 Pro. All offer the power of 5G and advanced hardware, but with a few differences. The first twos come with upper-midrange hardware, while the third is an affordable flagship. Which one should you go for? We will try to give you an answer through this specs comparison.

Motorola Edge vs Oppo Find X2 Neo vs Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro

Design

Motorola Edge looks undoubtedly impressive because it has the highest screen-to-body ratio, but my favorite design in this trio is the Oppo Find X2 Neo. It is more compact, thinner, and lighter than the Motorola Edge: with a thickness of just 7.7 mm, it is one of the thinnest 5G phones ever. And despite packing a battery with a capacity above 4000 mAh, it weighs just 171 grams: that is definitely an engineering miracle. With the absence of a curved screen and a big camera module, as well as less care for details, POCO F2 Pro looks less attractive than its opponents.

Display

Motorola Edge and Oppo Find X2 Neo are actually equipped with better displays than POCO F2 Pro. They feature a higher 90 Hz refresh rate, while POCO F2 Pro lacks it and it offers just 60 Hz. The AMOLED panel of the Motorola Edge looks really great with its Full HD+ resolution and the HDR10 certification: it is very hard to distinguish it from a top-tier flagship. Note that Motorola Edge and Oppo Find X2 Neo have curved punch-hole displays, while POCO F2 Pro has a flat full-screen display and a pop-up selfie camera. It does not have a 90 Hz refresh rate, but it is still a great panel with HDR10+.

Hardware/Software

The hardware is the department in which POCO F2 Pro takes the gold medal and it is the main advantage of the phone. It is fueled by the flagship-class Snapdragon 865 mobile platform paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of fast UFS 3.1 storage. Motorola Edge and Oppo Find X2 Neo are powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 765G: you would not notice the difference in daily use and most of the apps, but only in the most advanced scenarios such as gaming and video rendering. Motorola Edge loses against the Oppo Find X2 Neo because it sports just a half of its RAM (6 GB vs 12 GB). In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box, naturally.

Camera

The best cameras are built on the Oppo Find X2 Neo: it is the only one with OIS, so it offers superior stabilization. It also packs an amazing telephoto sensor with a 2x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens. Right after we got the Motorola Edge with a 64 MP main sensor, a telephoto lens, a TOF 3D sensor, and an ultrawide sensor, but no OIS. POCO F2 Pro is not the best camera phone out there, but unlike its rivals, it is able to record 8K videos.

Battery

POCO F2 Pro wins the battery life comparison because it has a bigger 4700 mAh battery and also because its display has a standard refresh rate. The silver medal goes to the Motorola Edge (but it comes with slower 18W charging), while Oppo Find X2 Neo wins the charging speeds comparison thanks to a 30W fast charging technology and a smaller 4025 mAh battery.

Price

In the global market, Motorola Edge is actually priced €600/$700. Oppo Find X2 Neo costs €700/$792, and POCO F2 Pro starts from just €500/$566. While it surely provides the highest value for money and the highest performance, at the end of the day, POCO F2 Pro is not the most complete phone. Oppo Find X2 Neo looks more complete as it offers a real high-end camera, stereo speakers, a sleek design, and all you can expect from a 2020 high-end phone. On the other hand, Motorola Edge has a longer battery life than Find X2 Neo, but lower-end hardware and cameras, as well as a thicker and heavier design. Xiaomi has officially released Android 11 Beta 1 build for Redmi K30 Pro/POCO F2 Pro as promised a few days back. Surprisingly, it is an AOSP build and not MIUI. Even iQOO has provided a similar build but Oppo Find X2 series gets a ColorOS 7.2  build.

The Android 11 Beta 1 for Redmi K30 Pro and POCO F2 Pro is available as a single common build as they are basically the same phone with different branding. It can be installed by anyone with an unlocked bootloader. But it is advisable to stay away if you are not a developer.

The installation process is similar to installing MIUI Fastboot ROM. So interested users will need the ROM file whose download link has been provided at the end of the post, Xiaomi MiFlash Tool, and device drivers.

Once all the above-mentioned things are sorted out, first extract the downloaded .tgz ROM file. Then, reboot the handset into Fastboot mode and open MiFlash tool on Windows PC/laptop. Now, connect the phone with the system and load the extracted ROM folder in the tool.

Lastly, click on ‘refresh’ to detect the device and select ‘clean all’ before hitting ‘flash’ to install the ROM. After the completion of the installation, the handset will automatically boot into Android 11 Beta 1 software.

The POCO F2 Pro has a 6.67-inch display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. It comes with a pop-up selfie camera which means there is no hole or notch distracting what you are doing on your screen.

Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 865 processor and it draws power from a 4700mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. It also has support for Power Delivery 3.0 and Quick Charge 4+.

For cameras, you get a 64MP + 13MP + 5MP + 2MP quad setup on the back while the selfie camera is a 20MP sensor. The POCO F2 Pro also has an audio jack, NFC, and an IR port. It runs Android 10 out of the box and is one of the devices that will get Android 11 Beta.

A tweet by the official MIUI account today announced that Android 11 Beta 1 will be available for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Shortly afterward, the POCO global Twitter account also announced that the POCO F2 Pro will get Android 11 Beta 1 too. Of course, it will arrive with MIUI on both devices but we can’t say if it will be based on MIUI 11 or the new MIUI 12

Unlike OPPO that promised this month, Xiaomi and POCO didn’t say when users should expect it. Also, seeing as the POCO F2 Pro will be getting Android 11 Beta 1, we expect the Redmi K30 Pro should get it too.

POCO F2 Pro, the latest flagship smartphone from the Xiaomi-backed brand was launched a few weeks ago and is available for purchase in some regions, including the United States, Europe, and Malaysia.

Now, JerryRigEverything, the popular YouTube channel which does durability tests on smartphones, has released a video about the durability test of the POCO F2 Pro and the device successfully passes the test.

First of all, let’s talk about the display. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and in the scratch test, it started showing scratch signs at level 6 and grooves from level 7. In the burn test, when the screen is burned with a lighter, the pixels go white on that portion after 30 seconds but quickly recovers after some time.

As for the material, the device is built with an aluminum frame and has a glass body, which is quite sturdy. The phone comes with a pop-up camera where the sensor is placed behind a sapphire glass, which has no effect when scratched.

However, the pop-up module for the camera enclosure is made of plastic and gets scratched easily. The pop-up mechanism has several fail-safes in place and the way it is made is impressive. After deliberately trying to break the pop-up module by thumping it on the table, it’s slider mechanism stopped working but it seems that the phone fixed and adopted it after some time.

On the back, there’s a quad-camera module placed in the top-center position which bumps out from the body. When tried to scratch the screen, there were no issues with it. As for the bend test, the phone also survived it. Although the phone makes a cracking sound, there were no issues on the screen or the body of the phone.

Earlier this month, Poco held an unveiling event to announce the Poco F2 Pro flagship phone. The handset had debuted as a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G phone. Today, the smartphone was made official in Malaysia with a starting price of RM 2,199 (~$505).

The Poco F2 Pro has arrived in Malaysia in two options such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB. They are priced at RM 2,199 (~$505) and RM 2,599 (~$596), respectively. In Europe, the same models were introduced for 499 euros and 599 euros, respectively. The Poco F2 Pro will be available for purchase starting from June 10.

Poco F2 Pro specifications

The Poco F2 Pro has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with a notch-less design. The full HD+ resolution supporting display offers a traditional refresh rate of 60Hz. The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is present under the hood of the device. The base model has LPDDR4X RAM and the higher version has LPDDR5 RAM. Both variants have UFS 3.1 storage and there is no microSD card slot.

The handset features a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. The rear shell of the smartphone has a quad-camera setup that includes a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel telephoto macro sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Realme X3 SuperZoom vs Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro vs Realme X50 Pro

Design

If you mind about having a real full screen experience with no interruptions, then you should give a chance to the POCO F2 Pro which comes with no holes nor notch on its screen, yet it provides very narrow bezels thanks to a motorized pop-up camera. But if you do not mind about having a dual punch-hole display, Realme X50 Pro 5G offers a more minimalistic glass back thanks to a less invasive camera module, as well as more compact dimensions. Despite Realme X3 SuperZoom offers a higher 120 Hz refresh rate instead of 90 Hz, Realme X50 Pro is the winner of the display comparison. If you look at the most expensive version of the POCO F2 Pro and Realme X50 Pro, you can see that the former has a faster UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the latter has a higher amount of RAM (up to 12 GB). In each case you get Android 10 out of the box and a highly-customized UI.

Camera

Despite its inferior hardware, Realme X3 SuperZoom is the most interesting handset if we talk about cameras. It has a better telephoto sensor than Realme X50 Pro which supports up to 5x optical zoom and OIS. Realme X50 Pro comes with a telephoto lens as well, but it comes with 2x optical zoom and it lacks OIS. Both feature an ultrawide dual selfie camera with 32 and 8 MP resolutions. On the paper, POCO F2 Pro has an inferior camera department, but it is the only to support 8K video recording (max 30 fps unless you switch to 4K).

Battery

POCO F2 Pro provides the longest battery life thanks to its bigger 4700 mAh unit and a standard refresh rate. On the other hand, Realme X50 Pro has the fastest charging speeds thanks to the 65W Super Dart Charge technology (from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes).

Price

POCO F2 Pro costs either €499/$549 or €599/$659 globally (depending on the country), in its base variant (6/128 GB). Realme X50 Pro 5G starts from €599/$659 (8/128 GB), while Realme X3 SuperZoom is priced €499/$549 (12/256 GB!). Realme X50 Pro wins the overall comparison due to its great cameras, faster charging, amazing display. POCO F2 Pro offers a bigger battery but its standard refresh rate may not be the best for a lot of gamers and power users. I personally think that the most attractive design belongs to Xiaomi Mi 10. It offers a higher screen-to-body ratio, a curved screen (despite not everyone likes it due to usability-related issues), and a less invasive camera module. But POCO F2 Pro still offers an amazing design with its notch-less display, a pop-up camera, a glass back, and an aluminum frame. Black Shark 3 is not the most elegant device out there as it has an aggressive and gaming-centric design, but it offers some interesting gaming features such as triggers and magnetic charging.

Display

Black Shark 3 and Xiaomi Mi 10 offer the same display specifications, including a 6.67-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution, the HDR10+ certification, and a high 90 Hz refresh rate. Further, they both feature powerful stereo speakers. POCO F2 Pro lacks a high refresh rate and stereo speakers. That is why Black Shark 3 and Xiaomi Mi 10 win the multimedia comparison. They are at the same level when it comes to the display, so you can choose one or the other according to your tastes.

Hardware/Software

In the hardware department, these three handsets are even more similar. All are flagship killers powered by the best Qualcomm’s chipset: the Snapdragon 865 running at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz. They all feature LPDDR5 RAM, but Xiaomi Mi 10 and Black Shark 3 offer up to 12 GB of RAM, while POCO F2 Pro stops at 8 GB. On the other hand, POCO F2 Pro has a slightly faster UFS 3.1 storage. But I prefer having more RAM than slightly faster storage: UFS 3.0 is enough and it is impossible to notice the difference in daily use. Given that they launched in 2020, all of these devices obviously run Android 10 customized by MIUI 11.

Camera

Unfortunately, it lacks a telephoto lens and it can not be considered a top camera phone, but Xiaomi Mi 10 offers definitely better camera hardware than POCO F2 Pro and Black Shark 3. And given that the software is the same, it provides a better photo and video quality. It boasts a 108 MP main sensor that can record videos with an 8K resolution. The silver medal goes to the POCO F2 Pro: it records 8K videos as well, but with an inferior main camera and without OIS. Black Shark 3 is just a typical midrange camera phone.

Battery

The differences in battery capacities between these handsets are marginal. That is why despite it has a smaller battery, we believe that POCO F2 Pro may last more on a single charge due to its standard refresh rate. On the other hand, Black Shark 3 offers the fastest charging technology in the market with a 65W power: it is definitely more relevant. Xiaomi Mi 10 is the only which supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Price

POCO F2 Pro is the most affordable handset with a €499/$538 starting price globally, Black Shark 3 costs €599/$646 and Xiaomi Mi 10 goes for €879/$948 in its base variant, but it can be found at very interesting street prices. Xiaomi Mi 10 is the most advanced device due to the presence of wireless charging and better cameras, but there are no huge differences in this trio. Black Shark 3 is a definitely better device for gamers, while you can still get an awesome user experience with POCO F2 Pro, but it lacks a high refresh rate. We do not think the differences between specifications of Xiaomi Mi 10 and POCO F2 Pro justify the price difference between the two handsets.

What really changes is the software since POCO F2 Pro comes with MIUI and Realme X50 Pro has Realme UI, different Android customization similar to OPPO’s ColorOS 7. Both are based on Android 10. The much-awaited POCO F2 Pro is with us. The smartphone has just been unveiled by the Chinese firm in an online event today. Just as we predicted, the POCO F2 Pro is a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro. That shouldn’t be a problem because the phone comes with flagship specs and while it may not be the flagship-killer the POCO F1 was, the pricing is fair for a Snapdragon 865-powered 5G phone.

POCO F2 Pro shares the same design and pretty much similar hardware with the Redmi K30 Pro. But the phone packs the much-acclaimed POCO Launcher 2.0 based on Android 10. This brings features such as Dark Mode, a cool App Drawer and more.

Already, a lot about the Poco F2 Pro has appeared before its official launch via different leaks and rumors. The smartphone is touted to be the rebranded version of Redmi K30 Pro 5G. It will be available in blue, purple, white, and dark color options.

The Poco F2 Pro will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz or 90 HZ rate. Moreover, there will be a quad-camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Xiaomi‘s now independent POCO brand is set to launch the long-awaited POCO F2 Pro smartphone tomorrow (May 12). Ahead of the launch event, popular tipster Ishan Argwal has leaked the POCO F2 Pro renders showing just the front view of the model.

The POCO F2 Pro is touted to launch as a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro and the render seems to confirm that. The device comes with a full-screen, notch-less design. That means we are looking at a pop-up camera design. No, an under-screen selfie camera isn’t ready for the market yet and even if it is, Xiaomi will likely utilise the technology on its high-end Mi flagship or Mix series. So, that is definitely a pop-up camera we are looking at on the F2 Pro.

Just like the Redmi K30 Pro, the pop-up camera will be located at the top left corner of the display. Although the rear design is not revealed, earlier teasers show the device will have an excellent camera housed in a round housing. The POCO F2 Pro is finally coming. It is scheduled to go official on May 12. Reports surrounding the smartphone have claimed that it could be arriving as a rebadged version of the Redmi K30 Pro. Ahead of the next week’s launch, 91mobiles revealed the pricing and color variants of the POCO F2 Pro.

Based on the information received from a trusted source, the publication has claimed that the POCO F2 Pro will carry a price tag of 570 euros for its 128 GB storage version. The phone will be coming in other variants. However, the publication has on the pricing of POCO F2 Pro’s other variants.

A leak has surfaced on the web that reveals several new devices from Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO that are reported to be scheduled for release in the third quarter. Some of these devices have familiar names while others are not. According to the source, the list was decoded from an encrypted letter sent to a Xiaomi employee.

We had speculated the Redmi flagship will launch as the successor to the POCO F1 but looking at it now, it does make sense since the Redmi K30 is the POCO X2, it is only right that the Redmi K30 Pro launches as the POCO X2 Pro.
• Mi 10T – this too is another rebranded Redmi K30 Pro but heading to Europe. If we were to go by last year’s Redmi K20 launching as the Mi 9T in Europe, the Mi 10T should actually be the same device as the Redmi K30 4G.

• Mi 10T Pro – Xiaomi will follow up the Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 Pro) with a successor this year and it will also be a rebranded phone, but this time, of the newly launched Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition.

• Redmi X10 4G/POCO F2/Mi 10S – even with Redmi and Xiaomi betting big on 5G this year, they are not abandoning 4G. Redmi will launch a phone called the Redmi X10, which should be the first of a new series. This device will then be sold as the POCO F2 and the Mi 10S. Curious as to the specs of this device? Don’t be as the Mi 10S was in the news earlier this month.
  The Mi 10S, according to info from a Chinese leaker, is an upcoming phone from Xiaomi with a pretty large display. The source revealed the phone will launch in the second half of the year which goes in line with the Q3 release date state above. The Mi 10S should be a flagship phone with either the Snapdragon 865 chipset or the rumored Snapdragon 865+.

• Redmi X10 5G/POCO F2 Pro 5G/Mi 10S+ 5G – There will also be a 5G version of the phone above and it will launch as the POCO F2 Pro 5G and the Mi 10S+ 5G. Other than 5G, it should have other features that make it different from the 4G version.

• Mi 7 2020 – there was never a Mi 7 as Xiaomi jumped from Mi 6 to Mi 8 but this leak says we will be getting a Mi 7 2020. Is this the rumored Mi 6 2020 but with a new name? Only time will tell.

• Mi CC10/Mi 10 Lite – Xiaomi will announce a successor to the Mi CC9 which was the first product borne from its partnership with Meitu. Expect it to pack some interesting camera features. The leak says the phone is also the Mi 10 Lite. The phone was launched yesterday in Europe.

• Mi MIX 4 and Mi MIX 4S – last year, Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX Alpha, a concept phone with a wrap-around screen. It wasn’t mass-produced as it would have cost a fortune. This year, the company will announce a proper successor to the Mi MIX 3. Actually two successors as there will also be a Mi MIX 4S. This should be Xiaomi’s best flagships of 2020 and we earnestly look forward to them.

• Mi Zero – the leaked product lineup also mentions a new phone called the Mi Zero. Is this another concept phone with no “holes” just like the Meizu Zero or will it be the first of a new line of smartphones? Your guess is as good as ours.

With a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (~$362), the newly Redmi K20 Pro is the cheapest Snapdragon 855 powered smartphone in the market. Reports have revealed the Redmi K20 Pro and its Snapdragon 730 SoC powered sibling Redmi K20 will be exclusively available in China. These phones are expected to be available outside of China with different monikers such as Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9T in markets like Russia, Poland and Thailand. According to a source, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro could be made available as Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro. Since India was the first market to receive the Poco F1, it is likely to Poco F2 and F2 Pro smartphone could be heading to India.

And almost certain, darlings. The Redmi K20 is indeed likely to be the Poco F2. The SD 855 edition is likely to be called F2 Pro and the SD730 just F2. And the prices will be astonishing!

The source also claims that the pricing of the Poco F2 and F2 Pro will be astonishing. The model numbers of the new Redmi flagship phones are M1903F10 and M1903F11. Recently, popular tipster Ishan Agarwal had claimed that last year’s Poco F1 had “E10” in its model number.

The Poco F1 had surprised the smartphone industry by arriving as the cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone last year. It was introduced with a price tag of Rs. 20,999 (~$300). Currently, the highest edition of the Redmi Note 7 Pro that features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is selling for Rs. 16,999 (~$243).

Probably, the Snapdragon 730 powered Poco F2 models could be priced under Rs. 20,000 (~$286) in India. And, the Poco F2 Pro variants may be priced between Rs. 21,000 (~$300) and Rs. 30,000 (~$430). The Poco F2 Pro may end up as the most affordable Snapdragon 855 SoC driven phone.

Some rumors that had surfaced earlier this year had claimed that Xiaomi will be selling a Poco F2 Lite with inferior specs. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro may respectively debut as Poco F2 Lite and Poco F2.

Readers are suggested to digest the report with a grain of salt as no concrete evidence on their specs and features are available yet. The Poco F1 had debuted in India in August 2018. The arrival of the Poco F2 series could be close at hand as the Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP Manu Kumar Jain had recently hinted that a new phone powered by Snapdragon 730 will be announced soon.
