Xiaomi could be planning on launching the POCO F7 series in the Indian market soon. A fresh leak has hinted that the POCO F7 could be released in the region along with another higher end model from the F7 lineup. So here’s what we know.

POCO F7 Series India Launch Rumored

The news arrives from a known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on X (formerly Twitter). In his tweet, he shared a couple of tweets from the CEO of POCO India, Himanshu Tandon, and also stated that the POCO F7 series will be launching in India soon. It is unclear whether the POCO F7 Pro or F7 Ultra will launch in India, although previous rumors have pointed at only the base model arriving in the Indian market.

POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro

The tweets from POCO India’s CEO also hinted that the POCO F7 in India might be carrying a larger battery pack compared to its global variant. He stated that POCO aims to offer bigger batteries when launching smartphones in India, with the POCO X7 Pro being a great example since it had a massive 6,000mAh battery pack. This was 500mAh larger than the global variant. Similarly, the Chinese brand could be planning on releasing the POCO F7 series with a bigger cell in India.

To recall, the POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro had their entire specs list revealed earlier this week, with their leaked renders showcasing their full design as well. While it is unclear whether the POCO F7 Ultra or F7 Pro would launch in India, the base POCO F7 may launch in a special edition is also in the works.

POCO F7 Pro highlights the company’s newest and most ambitious model for the flagship segment. Focusing on offering competitive devices in the mid-upper segment, POCO raises the bar even higher with the F7 Pro model. POCO F7 Pro model will be the rebranded Redmi K80. The code name will be “Zorn”. What we know about the device is not limited to these.

POCO F7 Pro specifications

Poco F7 Pro especially excites users in terms of performance. The device will prove its power with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. On the display side, a 6.67-inch OLED display produced by TCL aims to provide users with a superior visual experience. This screen will have 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
One of the most striking features of the device is 90W ultra-fast charging technology. This fast charging feature will fully charge the device’s battery in an incredibly short time. Thus, an uninterrupted usage experience will be provided even during intensive use. 90W fast charging stands out as one of the strongest competitive advantages of POCO F7 Pro.

Finally, POCO F7 Pro will come out of the box with Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0. This updated software will maximize the device’s performance while offering enhanced user experiences. With features and regular updates, the F7 Pro will remain current and competitive in the long run. This new flagship of POCO aims to meet the expectations of users with powerful features in both hardware and software.

It’s too early for the POCO F7 and, this new POCO F7 series is not expected to be unveiled before May 2025. Therefore, you will have to wait a long time. The POCO F7 and F7 Pro will launch with the latest Qualcomm processor and are now expected to offer significant improvements in the camera.

The POCO F7 will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4. On the other hand, the POCO F7 Pro is a rebranded version of the Redmi K80. The codename of the POCO F7 Pro is “miro”. The code name “Miro” comes from the painter Joan Miro. The Redmi K and POCO F Pro series are often codenamed after painters. This tradition continues with new smartphones. The codenames of the Redmi Turbo series are taken from gemstones. In any case, you will wait until May 2025. Because the POCO F6 series was announced in May 2024.

Hot on the heels of announcing the POCO F6 series, POCO has officially started working on the POCO F7 series. Gizmochina has spotted the new smartphones in the IMEI database. The POCO F7 series will be launched in 1 year, most likely in May 2025. The top-end model of the series, the POCO F7 Pro, promises to bring significant improvements and new features over the predecessor POCO F6 Pro.

The POCO F7 series is in the works, but don’t get excited

The POCO F7 Pro will be officially announced in 1 year, marking the next evolution in Xiaomi’s popular POCO F series. The POCO F7 series has been spotted in the HyperOS source code, while the IMEI database offers important clues as to which regions the device will be available in. In this article, we will focus on the details of the POCO F7 Pro. We will also publish an article on the regular POCO F7 soon.

The POCO F7 Pro is a model for the global market. For China, this device is called the Redmi K80. Both devices have exactly the same specifications. The POCO F7 Pro’s model number is “24122RKC7G” and this model number has a “G” at the end. This indicates that it’s a smartphone for the global market. Redmi K80 has the model number “24122RKC7C“. The “C” at the end of this model number indicates that it’s exclusive to the Chinese market. Redmi K80 will be rebranded as POCO F7 Pro for different markets.

POCO F Pro and Redmi K series phones will be codenamed after painters. The POCO F7 Pro will be codenamed “miro“. And this codename also applies to the Redmi K80. Both devices are being developed under a common codename. The codename “Miro” comes from Joan Miro. Joan Miro was a painter born in Barcelona, Spain on April 20, 1893.

The POCO F7 Pro (Redmi K80) is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In the POCO F6 Pro (Redmi K70), this chipset was Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Other specifications remain under wraps. The official launch date has not yet been announced, but since the POCO F6 Pro was introduced in May 2024, the POCO F7 Pro should be introduced exactly 1 year later, in May 2025. The Chinese version of the POCO F7 Pro, the Redmi K80 is expected to be unveiled in November 2024.
