Poco has officially taken the wraps off the Poco F7, its latest mid-range phone for the global and Indian markets. The F7 slots in as the base model in the new F7 series, sitting below the F7 Pro and F7 Ultra.

Even as the entry-level variant, the F7 doesn’t skimp on hardware. It’s designed to offer flagship-tier performance without the flagship-tier price. Here’s a full breakdown of what it brings to the table.

Poco F7: Specs and Features

At the front, the Poco F7 sports a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports a 480Hz touch sampling rate, peaks at 3,200 nits brightness, and comes with HDR10+ certification. It’s protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i and includes Wet Touch Display 2.0 tech, which helps keep the screen responsive even with damp hands.

Design-wise, Poco is doing something a little different with the Cyber Silver Edition. The back is split diagonally into a dual-tone finish. Here, the upper half features mock vents, printed circuit-like elements, and even visible Snapdragon branding.

Globally, the F7 is priced at $399 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB model and $449 for the 12GB + 512GB option. During the early sale period, you can get it for $339 and $399, respectively.

 While no official explanation has been offered for the discrepancy, it is clear the brand has chosen different configurations based on market priorities. Despite the battery size difference, both models will support 90W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Earlier, Poco confirmed that the Poco F7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It will come equipped with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, promising smooth performance. That suggests the earlier unit might’ve been a special edition of the Poco F7. The latest leak shows us the device in a more standard black variant.

As for the specs, here’s what we know so far. The Poco F7 is expected to sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 2272 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

In the leak above, DCS discusses a sub-series of a prominent brand that is currently testing a phone equipped with a 7,500mAh battery and 90W fast charging. He asserted that it is a performance-focused phone, featuring a flat display and a reasonable thickness and weight.

He further revealed that the device does not have a telephoto lens but does feature a decent primary camera. He also stated that the performance-focused phone will be announced in the first half of 2025. Additionally, he hinted at the possibility that the final product may have a reduced battery capacity.

Given its performance-focused phone, it appears that DCS may be referring to the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, slated for launch in April 2025. DCS’ previous leak revealed that the Turbo 4 Pro will have an OLED LTPS screen with narrow bezels and support for 1.5K resolution.

Under the hood, the Turbo 4 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset. In terms of design, the device is expected to arrive with a metal middle frame and a glass back.

As it is known that Redmi phones are rebranded as Poco smartphones in the global market, it is speculated that the Turbo 4 Pro may get rebranded as the Poco F7 in markets outside of China. Based on what we know so far, the POCO F7 Ultra might be a rebranded version of the Redmi K80 Pro. A new Redmi phone with model number 24129RT7CC has emerged in the database of China’s 3C certification platform. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, this model number belongs to the Redmi Turbo 4. Surprisingly, this model number differs from the 2412DRT0AC, which had the Turbo 4 moniker in the IMEI database earlier this year.

The 3C certification of the Redmi Turbo 4 reveals that it may ship with a 90W rapid charger. It appears that the Redmi Turbo 4 may officially launch in December after receiving an important certification. A recent leak also suggested that the Turbo 4 will debut after the K80 series. The report also revealed that while the K80 lineup will feature a 2K resolution display, the Turbo 4’s screen will support a 1.5K resolution.

Speculation is rife that the Turbo 4 series will also include another device named the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. However, it is likely that the Pro model will be announced a couple of months later in China. We were initially skeptical about this listing, though, as the Poco F6 series was only released three months ago, in May. So we were expecting the successor, the Poco F7 series, to launch around the same time next year, likely in Q2 2025.

But it looks like Poco is accelerating its F-series release cycle this year. Following the IMEI listing, the alleged Poco F7 has now secured EEC certification with the same model number.

While the certification doesn’t provide specifics about the phone’s hardware or features, it increases the likelihood that the Poco F7 could launch sooner than expected.

Looking at past patterns, the Poco F6 received EEC certification in January of this year and was officially unveiled in May. If Poco follows a similar strategy for the Poco F7, we might see the new series debut in December. 

Perhaps, the phone’s model number “2412” is already hinting at this schedule—“24” for the year and “12” for the month. However, it’s important to note that this is still just a speculation and Poco hasn’t confirmed any of this. 

Regardless, the Poco F7 is expected to be a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 4 for the global market. The F7 Pro, on the other hand, could be a rebranded version of Redmi K80. 

The Redmi K80 series is rumored to launch in China this November, so a December release for the Poco F7 series is still very possible. It’s just that Xiaomi typically takes some time to introduce its China-exclusive phones to the global market.
