<h3><strong>Poco X8 Pro Max incoming, Poco X8 takes an exit</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="704" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-1024x704.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 15 Pro+" class="wp-image-702356" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-1024x704.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-300x206.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-768x528.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-1536x1056.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-696x479.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-1068x734.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-611x420.jpg 611w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Redmi-Note-15-Pro-camera-module.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Note 15 Pro+</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The report, which is based on Mi code, claims that the following devices will be rebranded as Poco models.</p>

<ul><li>Poco M8 5G: Rebranded version of Redmi Note 15 5G</li><li>Poco M8 Pro 5G: Rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G</li><li>Poco X8 Pro: Rebranded version of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5">Redmi Turbo 5</a></li><li>Poco X8 Pro Max: Rebranded version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5-pro-max">Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max</a> (heading to China, yet to launch)</li></ul>

<p>The standard Poco X8 is missing from the above list. The device hasn’t appeared in the GSMA IMEI database yet. This device, which was expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, has reportedly been cancelled.</p>

<p>Previously, Poco offered up to three models in its X-series, including an entry-level Neo-branded model. In 2026, the X8 series will be shrunk to two models, such as the Poco X8 Pro and the X8 Pro Max. The report also claims that the X8 Pro will have a special Iron Man Edition.</p>

<h3><strong>Poco F8 may not exist</strong></h3>

<p>The China-exclusive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90-pro-max/">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90">Redmi K90</a> have been rebranded as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f8-ultra/">Poco F8 Ultra</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f8-pro/">F8 Pro</a>, respectively, for the global market. The report claims that the Poco F8 does not exist but has not concrete evidence to support this claim.</p>

<p>It will be interesting to see how these claims play out in reality, especially since the F8 was expected to be the only F8-series phone to launch in India, which remains one of Poco’s key markets.</p>

<p>Just last month, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/26/poco-f8-pro-releases-globally-with-snapdragon-8-elite-hyperos-3-huge-battery-for-under-600/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POCO F8 Pro </a>was released as the brand&#8217;s latest flagship smartphone, while the highly anticipated <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/10/poco-x8-pro-bis-certified/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POCO X8 Pro is set to debut soon</a>. However, both the X8 and F8 series might be skipping out on a more affordable base variant. A recent rumor has hinted that Xiaomi might skip the POCO X8 and POCO F8 models.</p>

<h2>Is Xiaomi Killing the POCO X8 and POCO F8?</h2>

<p>According to a <a href="https://xiaomitime.com/poco-kills-x8-and-f8-as-the-m8-lineup-rises-new-2026-model-strategy-explained-80400/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>Xiaomi Time</em> </a>report, the Chinese tech giant doesn&#8217;t have plans to launch the POCO standard F8 and POCO X8. In other words, the POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra are the only models in the F8 lineup, while the POCO X8 Pro could be followed by a POCO X8 Pro Max model. To recall, the POCO F8 Pro and POCO X8 Ultra are rebranded smartphones of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="964" height="542" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-715994" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1.jpg 964w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 964px) 100vw, 964px" /><figcaption>POCO F8 Ultra</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Similarly, the new POCO X8 Pro Max might replace the base X8, and is expected to be a rebadged version of the POCO X8 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro is basically a renamed Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. Keep in mind that Xiaomi has yet to release the Redmi Turbo 5 lineup either, so the POCO versions are likely the global version, while the Redmi branded phones are China exclusive. </p>

<p>The report adds that the brand is making this move as it is working on expanding the affordable POCO M8 series. It is worth noting that this is still just speculation based on IMEI database registrations. So take this report with a pinch of salt for now, and stick around for more.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/poco/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Poco</a> today confirmed that it’s launching the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f8-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Poco F8 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f8-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">F8 Ultra </a>globally on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f8-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">November 26th</a>. The company has also revealed the design of the two phones, confirming one key detail: both are rebranded Redmi K90 models.</p>

<p>The standard Poco F8 Pro comes in three finishes: Black, Grey, and Aqua Blue. Its rear design closely mirrors what we’ve already seen on the Redmi K90 in China, including the same rectangular camera block with rounded corners. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="477" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Pro-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-715515" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Pro-Design.jpg 477w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Pro-Design-239x300.jpg 239w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Pro-Design-334x420.jpg 334w" sizes="(max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px" /></figure></div>

<p>The higher-end Poco F8 Ultra will be available in Blue and Black, but the Blue version stands out with a textured leather-style back panel. The camera module layout follows the Redmi K90 Pro Max pretty closely, and there’s a noticeable “Sound by Bose” badge near the cameras. This confirms the phone uses Bose’s tuning for a more detailed and immersive audio experience. </p>

<p>None of this is surprising, though. The F8 Pro and F8 Ultra have long been rumored (and in some markets openly acknowledged) to be rebranded versions of the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The biggest difference seems to be battery size, with the POCO models reportedly carrying slightly smaller cells than their Redmi counterparts.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="486" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-715517" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design.jpg 486w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-243x300.jpg 243w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-324x400.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Poco-F8-Ultra-Design-340x420.jpg 340w" sizes="(max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px" /></figure></div>

<p>Both devices have already been through several certification listings, and recent Geekbench entries fill in some of the performance details. The F8 Pro appears to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the F8 Ultra steps up to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The listings also point to Android 16 out of the box and a 16GB RAM option.</p>

<p>With the design now confirmed, all that’s left is pricing and full specs, and we won’t have to wait long. The POCO F8 series will make its global debut in less than a week.</p>

<p>Last week, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/poco">Poco</a> unveiled the much-awaited Poco F7, packed with a massive 7,550mAh battery. Now, a new leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the upcoming Poco F8 may feature an even larger 8,000mAh battery.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 5 Pro / Poco F8 battery size rumor</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-1024x193.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-695032" width="1024" height="193" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-1024x193.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-300x56.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-768x144.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-1536x289.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-696x131.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4-1068x201.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-4.png 1643w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi 8000mAh+ battery phone is in the works</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>That said, it’s worth noting that the Poco brand has not been active in the Chinese market recently, and DCS has not directly mentioned the Poco F8 in his post. Instead, the leak refers to an upcoming high-performance <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> phone, expected to launch in 2026, which will sport a flat display of around 6.8 inches and a battery that exceeds 8,000mAh capacity.</p>

<p>The tipster could be referring to any one of the successors to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-4/">Redmi Turbo 4</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-4-pro/">Turbo 4 Pro</a>, or the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80-ultra/">Redmi K80 Ultra</a>. To recap, these models came with 6,550mAh, 7,550mAh, and 7,410mAh batteries, respectively. Based on this trend, the new leak implies that the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, the K90 Ultra, or both could surpass the 8,000mAh mark.</p>

<p>Considering that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/poco-f7/">Poco F7</a> (Indian variant) is a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, it’s highly likely that the Poco F8 could be based on the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. If that turns out to be the case, the F8 might also offer an 8,000mAh battery and a 6.8x-inch flat display, aligning with DCS’s leak.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="415" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-1024x415.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-695031" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-1024x415.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-300x121.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-768x311.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-696x282.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-1068x432.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3-1037x420.png 1037w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/image-3.png 1408w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>As of now, it’s too early to speculate on 2026 launches. For 2025, DCS has hinted in another Weibo post that the Redmi Note 15 series may arrive around the middle of second half of the year, suggesting a September launch in China. The Xiaomi 16 series and the Redmi K90 lineup are also expected to launch soon after. Multiple reports suggest that the Xiaomi 16 series could debut by the end of September in China.</p>
