In today’s comparison, we are pitting two smartphones from different Chinese brands that target the 10,000 INR budget price range. So which one offers the better value and which one’s the better pick? Let’s find out.

Realme C65 5G vs POCO M6 Pro 5G: Both displays have Pros and Cons

The POCO M6 Pro sports a tall 6.79-inch LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 550 nits of peak brightness. On the other hand, the Realme C65 5G arrives with a 6.67-inch LCD screen that offers just HD+ resolution. However, it makes up for this with a higher 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It even has a higher 625 nits of peak brightness. So you’d have to choose between a better resolution or a brighter and smoother screen. Depending on how you use the device, a higher resolution could suit you more.

Specifications: Pretty Close

There are plenty of differences in specs between the two phones, although, one would barely notice the difference in day-to-day use. The POCO M6 Pro 5G launched last year with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the Realme C65 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC that is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Both are powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack, but the POCO model offers 18W wired fast charging over Realme’s 15W wired fast charging. For optics, the sensors are almost identical on both of these with a 50-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. There’s a secondary sensor on both devices, but those barely make any difference.

One is newer

One notable advantage that the Realme C65 5G has over the POCO M6 Pro 5G is its release. The former was announced back in April 2024, while the latter came in August of last year. So you get a year longer support for software and one newer Android iteration. This could be pretty important to some

Pricing & Verdict

As of right now, the POCO M6 Pro 5G is actually cheaper, starting from just 9,499 INR for the 4GB + 128GB variant and 9,999 INR for the 6GB + 128GB option. The other configurations are currently unavailable. Realme’s new C65 5G is available for 10,499 INR for the 4GB + 64GB option. The 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB options cost 11,499 INR and 12,499 INR respectively. If you’re on a strict budget, the POCO M6 Pro 5G is a lot more viable. But if you want something newer, the Realme C65 5G could be the one for you.

These devices, launched in close succession last year, offer compelling features at competitive prices, making the choice between them a challenging one. Let’s delve into a detailed comparison to help you make an informed decision.

Redmi 13C 5G

Display

Starting with the display, the Redmi 13C 5G sports a 6.74-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of brightness. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, ensuring durability against everyday wear and tear.

On the other hand, the Poco M6 Pro 5G features a slightly larger 6.79-inch FHD+ (2460 x 1080 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate and 550 nits peak brightness. Since it offers a higher screen resolution compared to the Redmi 13C 5G, it delivers sharper images. The screen-to-body ratio of 91% coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection makes it a robust choice as well.

Design and Build

The Redmi 13C 5G boasts a unique “Dynamic Star Trail Design” with a shimmering back panel that changes depending on the light. The Poco M6 Pro 5G opts for a more conventional design with a glossy finish. Both phones are built with plastic backs and come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

The Redmi 13C has a slight edge in terms of thickness, measuring 8.09mm compared to the Poco M6 Pro’s 8.17mm. However, the weight difference is negligible.

Performance

Under the hood, the Redmi 13C 5G is equipped with an Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 6nm processor, which is paired with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It offers configurations of up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card. This setup is sufficiently powerful for daily tasks and moderate gaming.

Comparatively, the Poco M6 Pro 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, also an octa-core processor but with a slightly different configuration and an Adreno 613 GPU. The Poco device offers up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage, which is also expandable. The Snapdragon chipset built on 4nm technology, is known for its efficient performance, making the POCO M6 Pro 5G a strong contender in multitasking and casual gaming.

Both devices support additional RAM expansion. The M6 Pro 5G provides up to 6GB of virtual RAM, while the Redmi 13C 5G offers up to 8GB of virtual RAM, which may give it an advantage in multitasking and handling memory-intensive applications.

Camera

Both phones sport a single rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor. However, details about the secondary cameras differ. The Redmi 13C 5G doesn’t have any additional rear cameras, while the Poco M6 Pro 5G includes a 2MP depth sensor, potentially offering slightly better portrait shots with background blur.

The front cameras differ as well. The Redmi 13C 5G features a basic 5MP selfie shooter, while the Poco M6 Pro 5G boasts an 8MP front camera, which might capture slightly more detailed selfies and videos.

Battery and Charging

Both devices pack a substantial 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, ensuring all-day usage on a single charge with moderate use. However, it is worth noting that the Redmi 13C 5G comes with a 10W power adapter in the box, while the Poco M6 Pro 5G includes an 18W charger.

Software and Additional Features

Both phones run on Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top. The phones also offer a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and dust and splash resistance. The Redmi 13C has the advantage of expandable storage of up to 1TB (separate slot), while the Poco M6 Pro features a hybrid SIM slot that can accommodate a microSD card alongside one nano SIM.

Price

The pricing strategy of both devices caters to the budget segment but with slight variations depending on the configuration. The Redmi 13C 5G starts at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB + 128GB version and goes up to Rs. 14,499 for the 8GB + 256GB version. The Poco M6 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB model and Rs. 12,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model.

Conclusion

Choosing between the Redmi 13C 5G and Poco M6 Pro 5G boils down to individual preferences and priorities. If you value a larger and sharper display, better camera, and relatively better performance the Poco M6 Pro might be a better fit. However, if you’re looking for a unique design, higher RAM, and separate expandable storage, the Redmi 13C could be the more appealing option.

Ultimately, both phones offer good value for their price, providing a 5G experience with decent performance, long-lasting batteries, and features like a high refresh rate display and expandable storage.

The festive season sales are about to begin this weekend in India. For the last few years, this has been the best time to buy smartphones in the country.

The region’s largest online retailers Flipkart and Amazon are known to run sales at the same time. The former was the one to popularize this trend with its Big Billion Days sale, while Amazon answered with its Great Indian Festival.

Additionally, brands themselves now run sales on their websites during this period. So consumers get a lot of options and need clarification on numerous deals.

Thus, to help our readers out, we have compiled a list of phones that one should look for. Here in this article, we have specifically listed the best budget 5G smartphones to buy.

A year after 5G networks went live in India, the entry-level 5G smartphones finally improved and are almost on par with the 4G handsets available at the same price. With the ongoing offers, this is probably the best time to invest in them if you are looking for one.

Our list only consists of 5 devices. Above all, we have clearly mentioned what type of consumers should opt for which phone.

With that out of the way, let’s take a look at these products.

Best Budget 5G Smartphone Offers in India

Redmi 12 5G

Even at its regular price, we believe the Redmi 12 5G is the best budget 5G smartphone in India right now as it is recommendable for all types of users. You can learn more about why we think that way in our review.

In a nutshell, the device offers a premium design and a faster chip (Snapdragon 4 Gen 2), unlike its competitors. It boots a well-optimized software and the 5G performance is reliable.

The handset costs ₹11,999 for the base 4GB + 128GB model. But during the sale, it will be listed at ₹11,499 (₹500 off).

Buyers can use appropriate cards for an additional 10% discount. This brings down the effective price of Redmi 12 5G to ₹10,349.

The same offer will likely be available for 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants as well. The product can be purchased from either Amazon or Mi.com.

Redmi 12 5G

Variants

Retail Price

Discount

Card Offer

Final Price

4GB + 128GB

₹11,999

₹500

₹1,149

₹10,349

6GB + 128GB

₹13,499

₹500

₹1,299

₹11,699

8GB + 256GB

₹15,499

₹500

₹11,999

₹13,499

Buy Redmi 12 5G from Amazon

Poco M6 Pro 5G

The Poco M6 Pro 5G is the same as the Redmi 12 5G. The only major difference between the two is the looks.

The Poco model arrives in flashy colors since the brand is youth-oriented. Further, it starts at a lower price as it is also offered in a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM.

Finally, it is only available on Flipkart. You can check out its effective deal prices below.

Poco M6 Pro 5G

Variants

Retail Price

Discount

Card Offer

Final Price

4GB + 64GB

₹10,999

₹1,000

₹1,000

₹8,999

4GB + 128GB

₹11,999

₹1,000

₹1,000

₹9,999

6GB + 128GB

₹12,999

₹1,000

₹1,000

₹10,999

Realme Narzo 60x 5G

The best alternative to the Redmi 12 5G and the Poco M6 Pro is Realme Narrzo 60x 5G. It is a bit expensive but comes with meaningful upgrades for the extra price.

Realme Narzo 60x 5G

The Realme phone charges much faster as it supports 33W SuperVOOC standard. It also sports a faster 120Hz display.

Lastly, the design is flashier and is offered in an eye-popping green color option, in addition to black. This product is more recommendable for the youth, especially students who are always in a hurry to charge their phones.

It can be purchased from either Amazon or Realme.com.

Samsung Galaxy M34 5G and Galaxy F34 5G

The Galaxy M34 5G and Galaxy F34 5G are one and the same. The former is sold on Amazon, whereas the latter is sold via Flipkart. Both of them are also available on Samsung.com.

Just like Redmi 12 5G and Poco M6 Pro 5G, these two primary differ in terms of colors. They have the same specs and are even priced equally.

The main highlights of these handsets are longer software support (4 Android updates and 5 years of security updates), Samsung Wallet with NFC, and 120Hz AMOLED display. This device is recommended for consumers who just need a smartphone for regular day-to-day usage with no gaming and heavy multi-tasking.

POCO M6 Pro 5G teased officially

Ready to disrupt the 5G game!! #M6Pro5G #ComingSoon pic.twitter.com/gXpvyqcLxE
— Himanshu Tandon (@Himanshu_POCO) July 31, 2023

POCO has not revealed the launch date of the upcoming M6 Pro 5G. The teaser shared by the company’s India Country Head confirms the name of the device and also reveals the back panel design. The tweet says ‘Ready to disrupt the 5G game!’

As the name suggests, the POCO M6 Pro 5G will come with a 5G-compatible processor. The phone is seen in a Turquoise color option with an elongated Black camera module giving it a dual-toned look that is commonly found on POCO phones. The left side of the camera island has two sensors and an LED flash whereas the brand’s logo is on the right side. The camera configuration remains unknown at the moment. The POCO M6 Pro has a boxy design with curved edges and a SIM tray located on the left side of the device.

The POCO M6 Pro 5G has already bagged BIS certification and since it has now been teased, we can expect more teasers to drop along with an imminent launch. Rumors suggest that the upcoming smartphone may be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 12R that is available in China. If this indeed turns out to be true, then we can expect the device to feature a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC with up to 8GB RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging.

Earlier this month, we also covered a leak which had suggested that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 12R in the global market soon. Although, this device will be released globally and in India as the Redmi 12 5G model. But that is not all, since the tipster Kacper Skrzypek revealed that the smartphone will also arrive as the POCO M6 Pro in the Indian market.

If this news is true, then we can expect M6 Pro to sport a tall 6.79-inch LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with either 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Other notable features include 50MP dual rear cameras, a 5000mAh battery pack with 18W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and more.

The Redmi Note 12R, equipped with the latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset offering 5G network compatibility, has been recently introduced by Xiaomi in China. While Xiaomi has not yet confirmed any global release plans for this device, tipster Kacper Skrzypek suggests that it might be launched under a different name in international markets.

As per a recent tweet from Kacper Skrzypek, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12R is expected to be released globally under the name Redmi 12 5G. Additionally, for Indian customers, the device is likely to be marketed as the Poco M6 Pro 5G. It is important to note that the Poco M5 Pro has not been launched in India, suggesting the possibility of the brand skipping it entirely and introducing the M6 Pro 5G instead. You can check out the specs of the Redmi Note 12R below.

Redmi Note 12R specs

With a centered punch-hole camera housing, the Redmi Note 12R offers a 6.79-inch LCD panel that delivers Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its 240Hz touch sampling rate ensures smooth touch response, while DC Dimming enhances display quality.

Driving the device is the recently unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, providing 5G connectivity. It pairs with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, offering ample space for storage and multitasking.

In terms of photography, the smartphone boasts a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, a 5-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls.

The phone runs the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 14 custom user interface on top. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging, offering extended usage time.
