ZTE has launched a new 4G portable Wi-Fi hotspot in China called the U15S. It is priced at 179 yuan (about $26) and built primarily around offering a long battery life for users who need an internet connection while traveling or working away from home.

The device comes with a 10,000mAh battery. According to ZTE, this capacity provides up to 26 hours of continuous use on a single charge. Because of the large battery, the device has a somewhat thick profile, measuring 106 x 55 x 33mm and weighing 237 grams. It features rounded edges for an easier grip and is available in two standard colors: black and white.

To recharge, the hotspot uses a USB-C port and supports 18W charging. It is compatible with standard charging protocols, including PD, QC, and PPS. It also includes a direct power supply mode. This feature allows the device to run directly from a wall outlet or external power source, bypassing the internal battery to help maintain the battery’s lifespan over time.

On the front, there is a 1.44-inch touchscreen. This display lets users check basic network information like signal strength, remaining data, and battery levels without needing to open a separate app on their phone. It also displays a QR code so other people can quickly scan and connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Inside, the U15S runs on a ZTE-developed V3E-A53 dual-core chip. It includes a dual SIM slot, which gives users the option to switch between two different cellular networks if one carrier has poor reception in a specific area.

ZTE has introduced the G5 Pro 5G AI CPE mobile router in China. It is priced at 2,099 yuan (around $308) and is now available on JD.com.

The router supports Wi-Fi 7, utilizing Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology to combine multiple frequency bands for a more consistent connection. ZTE claims the device can hit theoretical peak download speeds of 4.29Gbps, aided by 4CC carrier aggregation.

It also features 4K QAM modulation, which the company notes should provide a 20% transmission speed improvement over older Wi-Fi 6 standards. It operates on dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies with 4×4 MIMO on both.

For wired connections, the router includes two 2.5G Ethernet ports with WAN/LAN auto-adaptive functionality. This is particularly useful for a CPE device, as it allows you to easily plug into a traditional wired broadband connection or rely entirely on a cellular network.

The software also includes a suite of standard AI-branded network management tools for bandwidth allocation, scene recognition, and parental controls, all manageable via the ZTE Smart Life app.

Ubiquiti has announced the Dream Router 5G Max (UDR-5G-Max), a new multi-functional 5G CPE that supports cellular, LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The device is priced at $499 and will be available in February 2026.

The Dream Router 5G Max acts as a desktop cloud gateway with integrated 5G connectivity, tri-band Wi-Fi 7, and UniFi OS support. It features a cylindrical design measuring 110 × 110 × 250 mm and includes one NanoSIM slot alongside a NanoSIM/eSIM hybrid slot. On 5G NSA networks, the device delivers up to 3.4Gbps downlink and 560Mbps uplink speeds. On standalone 5G SA networks, it reaches 1.8Gbps downlink and 650Mbps uplink.

The router comes with one 10GbE SFP+ port and four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, including one PoE output. The Wi-Fi system is rated BE10700, with speeds of 688Mbps, 4.3Gbps, and 5.7Gbps across the three bands.
