While the company didn&#8217;t reveal a date for the flagship launch earlier, we expected it to be a bit later considering that the mid-range <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/06/meizu-m3-note-official-helio-p10-large-4100mah-battery/">Meizu M3 Note was just announced on April 6</a>. However, Meizu has surprised us all by confirming today that the Meizu Pro 6 launch will be on on April 13, just a week after the M3 Note&#8217;s launch.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78609" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-papers-02.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 invites" width="690" height="925" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-papers-02.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-papers-02-224x300.jpg 224w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-papers-02-600x804.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>And how does Meizu confirm the Pro 6 launch date? By sending out invitations, that are probably the simplest invites we have seen from a smartphone manufacturer. Meizu has literally sent out a piece of paper with what looks like hand written details. The company confirms via this paper that the Pro 6 flagship will launch at an event on April 13 at 2:30PM in Beijing.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78610" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-paper.jpg?x44794" alt="pro 6 invite paper" width="690" height="925" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-paper.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-paper-224x300.jpg 224w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-invite-paper-600x804.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Previously, we have seen Meizu send out invitations that are flashy (remember the time <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/15/meizu-m2-launch-invite-comes-with-nokia-1110-inside/">when the company had sent Nokia smartphones?</a>). So, why send out a piece of paper for their most important product of the year? While we have no official explanation of the same, from the Weibo post, it looks like the company wants to highlight the simplistic design of the Pro 6.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78550" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 black version" width="1024" height="653" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-600x383.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>This makes things very much interesting. We have heard a lot about the phone, and even seen official renders <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/07/meizu-ceo-reveals-pro-6-flagship-black-looks-beautiful/">posted directly by company executives including the CEO</a>. Yesterday&#8217;s render looked beautiful in that black shade and the phone does look a bit unique and interesting. Up till now, the company has confirmed that it will be the first and the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/16/meizu-pro-6-confirmed-worlds-first-phone-helio-x25-chip/">exclusive phone to launch with the Helio X25 chipset</a> under the hood. Also, it is confirmed that the phone will feature<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/30/meizu-vp-confirms-3d-touch-pro-6-flagship-better-huawei/"> 3D Touch like feature</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/21/meizu-pro-6-helio-x25-scores-nearly-100k-antutu/">Meizu Pro 6 with Helio x25 scores nearly 100K on AnTuTu</a></strong></p>
<p>Releasing the Pro 6 this early is really surprising given that the previous generation <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/23/meizu-pro-5-flagship-announced-with-the-powerful-exynos-7420-21mp-camera/">Pro 5 handset </a>was announced just last September. So, within 7 months, the company is now updating the lineup with a new generation model. We expect the phone to be impressive, and let&#8217;s hope that the company doesn&#8217;t disappoint us with its new device.</p>

The latest iPhone 7 leak shows off a unique antenna design, wherein the phone sports a metal body but there&#8217;s a single antenna line at the bottom. If you remember, usually, metal phones have dual antenna line at the back.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75983" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 leak 01" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-640x480.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-681x511.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>While Apple fans were pretty happy to see that the upcoming iPhone 7 was going to sport a slightly different look, Meizu VP Li Nan claims that the pictures which were leaked yesterday are actually of the upcoming Meizu Pro 6 flagship. Don&#8217;t trust him? Well, he has actually posted a picture of the real Meizu Pro 6 sporting this design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75982" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 leak 02" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-640x427.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-681x454.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>He further adds that the factory staff who leaked this image most likely made a mistake. The company has been working on this design for quite some time and wanted to surprise fans at the conference.</p>
<p>Well, when he had said that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/16/will-meizu-6-pro-finally-kill-iphone/">Meizu Pro 6 was going to be an &#8220;iPhone 7 killer&#8221; </a>we thought he was being optimistic. But after this leak, it looks like both the phones could have a very similar design.</p>
<p>As for the specs, Meizu has also confirmed that the Pro 6 flagship will be the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/16/meizu-pro-6-confirmed-worlds-first-phone-helio-x25-chip/"> first phone to feature the newly announced Helio X25 </a>chipset. In fact, the chip will be exclusive to the phone for several months. This leak confirms a metal body on the design with unique antenna lines. Other rumored features of the phone include FHD 1080p resolution 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a home button embedded fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p>So, in short, it looks like we are going to see two very similar looking smartphones in the coming months, one running on Android and the other on iOS. While Li Nan claims that the images are of the Pro 6, it&#8217;s possible that the iPhone 7 prototype looks very much similar to the Pro 6. If true, then Li Nan did a pretty good job of revealing Pro 6&#8217;s design quite early!</p>

After reports about the scrapping of the Meizu Pro 5 Mini handset, we know the company has, at least, three new devices in the pipeline this year, namely Meizu MX6, Meizu Pro 6 and a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/06/rumor-meizu-release-smartphone-new-series-helio-x25-chip/">mid-range flagship in a brand new lineup</a>. While we will probably see the Pro 6 flagship only near the third or fourth quarter of 2016, a new leak about the device has revealed some specs of the phone.</p>

<p>A report from China suggests that Meizu will release a new super flagship smartphone in August this year, and it will most likely be the successor to last year&#8217;s Exynos based flagship, the Pro 5. The new model will be called as the Pro 6 and will be launched in two versions, with the main difference being the memory on board.</p>
<p>It is said that the high-end version of the Meizu Pro 6 flagship will feature 6GB of RAM on board, joining the likes of the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/01/vivo-xplay-5-announced-worlds-first-6gb-ram-smartphone/"> Vivo XPlay 5 </a>flagship. So, the memory combination of the top-end variant will be 6GB + 128GB storage. On the other hand, the standard version will come with 4GB RAM + 64GB of Storage. The screen resolution will still be limited to 1080p, much like the previous generation.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-74238" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu mx6 concept 02" width="1149" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02.jpg 1149w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-1024x535.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-600x313.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-804x420.jpg 804w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-640x334.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-mx6-concept-02-681x356.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1149px) 100vw, 1149px" /></p>
<p>The phone will most likely feature the Exynos 8890 flagship chipset that powers some of the new Galaxy S7 models. Other probable features of the upcoming super flagship could be Hi-Fi 3.0, support for fast charge, Meizu&#8217;s MBack 3.0 software and the new Flyme 6.0 OS. You can also expect the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/02/xiaomi-meizu-oppo-vivo-reportedly-working-pressure-sensitive-displays/">phone to feature 3D touch like feature</a>.</p>
<p>Like mentioned above, it&#8217;s still too early to say anything about the Meizu Pro 6 handset. Before its release, we can expect at least one major smartphone announcement from the company this year. The Meizu MX6 mid-range flagship is expected to be announced sometime in April. So, we better wait for more information about these upcoming phones from the company.</p>
