<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Google Pixel Fold x NBA ad <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PixelFold?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PixelFold</a> <br><br>Full video link: <a href="https://t.co/hwiKWsaKVx">https://t.co/hwiKWsaKVx</a> <a href="https://t.co/YgzuKavq0Q">pic.twitter.com/YgzuKavq0Q</a></p>&mdash; Soumyakanti Ray (@2010sroy) <a href="https://twitter.com/2010sroy/status/1656293855766134786?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 10, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>The ad revealed the Pixel Fold&#8217;s inner and outer screens and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/19/google-pixel-fold-durable-hinge-offers-include-free-pixel-watch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">its hinge</a>, which can be propped at a 90-degree angle on a surface. While there is no information about screen size and panel type or whether it has a gapless design, the Pixel Fold&#8217;s aspect ratio is reportedly similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo Find N2</a>, making it pocketable.</p>

<h2>Pixel Fold specifications (rumored)</h2>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/23/google-pixel-fold-full-specifications-price-availability-details-leaked-before-may-10-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">past reports</a>, Pixel Fold will be powered by Google&#8217;s Tensor G2 chip, and it will run on a foldable-optimized version of Android with 256GB and 512GB storage options. More information about its capabilities will be revealed at the I/O 2023 event.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="google-pixel-fold-in-action" class="wp-image-536036" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-fold-in-action.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Pixel Fold is expected to feature a 7.69-inch 120Hz foldable display along with a 5.9-inch cover screen. The device will feature a 64MP primary lens, 12MP ultrawide lens, a 10.8MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP selfie lens. Pixel Fold is rumored to house a 4821mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.</p>

<p>Foldable phones have been the new trend in recent years, with major players like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> releasing their versions. Google&#8217;s Pixel Fold is its first foray into the foldable phone market, and it looks like a promising device.</p>

<p>While some details are still unknown, the Pixel Fold&#8217;s promotional ad shows that Google has put a lot of effort into the design and functionality of the device. Google will also launch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-7a/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pixel 7a</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/10/google-pixel-7a-pricing-launch-offers-in-india-leaked-hours-before-i-o-announcement/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to a new report</a>, the phone will start at Rs 43,999 in India and will be sold via Flipkart.</p>

In the video, the company shares 113 reasons &#8220;Why You Should Switch to Pixel.&#8221; But rather than taking on a major brand in the industry, the company has surprisingly decided to take a jab at a company that doesn&#8217;t event compete in the same market anymore.</p>
<p>The search engine giant shared a new video on YouTube, in which, the company calls out LG at one point. For those unaware,<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/05/lg-confirms-shutting-down-its-mobile-business-to-focus-on-connected-devices-smart-home/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> LG had exited the smartphone market</a> earlier this year, and now, it seems like Google seeks to find prospective customers among the South Korean brand&#8217;s audience. While the company did not explicitly state LG&#8217;s name in the Pixel 6 promotional video, it does hint at the brand who stopped making smartphones. In the near nine minute video, Google stated that &#8220;the maker of your old phone stops making phones,&#8221; as one of the reasons to switch to Pixel smartphones, which is a clear jab at LG.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Why You Should Switch to Pixel - 113 Reasons" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/STZU8_p8-FU?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The video in itself doesn&#8217;t offer a lot of substance behinds its &#8220;113&#8221; reasons that should make us switch over to the Pixel series. So, we can say that these are meant primarily for entertainment purposes. Funnily, the company even adds in the video that certain brands are more known for their washing machines rather than &#8220;organizing the Internet and mapping the world.&#8221; In other words, this could even be a swing at South Korea&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung Electronics</a> as well.</p>

<p>The former budget sub brand shared a video of this major promotional ad on its official Honor Global Twitter handle as well. In the video, we can see the world&#8217;s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai being light up with an advertisement for the Magic3 series. <p>The new promotional video basically revolves around how the rabbit used the Huawei P40 Pro&#8217;s camera to get out of dangerous positions from its natural predators. It can be seen taking a shot with trembling hands only to have the result be clear and without any blur. Similarly, the smartphone&#8217;s low light imagery was also showcased in the video. Animals like a fox, black panther, and an eagle can be seen asking the little rabbit for images of themselves.</p>

Now, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-mi-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi Japan</a> has issued an official apology through Twitter.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-321146 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi" width="790" height="445" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279.png 790w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279-768x433.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Screenshot-279-746x420.png 746w" sizes="(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi advertisement commemorating the Redmi Note 9 series depicted various peculiar scenes. This includes a &#8220;fat man&#8221; flying into the sky after breaking through the rood with &#8220;Tokyo Asakusa&#8221; in the background. This is followed by a nuclear bomb explosion, which clearly misses the mark regarding what it intended to portray and the sentiments it ended up actually hurting.</p>

<p>For those unaware, the nuclear explosion dropped in Nagasaki, Japan during World War II was codenamed, &#8220;fat man.&#8221; This bomb was dropped from a white balloon. So, you can see regardless of intention, there are clear hints at the horrendous event that had taken place decades ago. Xiaomi Japan has since issued an official apology on Twitter stating, &#8220;We have posted a review of the latest product promotion video. We will work to prevent it from happening again in the future.&#8221;</p>

<p>The official apology reads, &#8220;This latest product promotion for the overseas market contained ill-considered content and the video has been removed. Xiaomi respects users and cultures around the world, and we will be closer to our users when producing new products that promote them. We will do everything we can to prevent it from happening again in the future and to resolve the problem.&#8221;</p>
